I would never recommend this clinic to my worst enemy. The bedside manner of Dr. Mezei and Dr. Barber is horrendous. If anything, Dr. Miller was the only physician that was not coming into the room and making everything doom and gloom.I had to ask to not see Dr. Mezei and I had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing Dr. Barber for my last visit. When you have an unborn baby that has an abnormality that no prognosis can be determined until they’re born, it is completely wrong to continually say things that would suggest otherwise rather than providing all of the factual information possible. The only time I didn’t cry after one of these appointments was when we saw Dr. Miller. It’s also disconcerting that these physicians are talking about things they’re not trained in, like the brain. We saw a neurosurgeon who had a completely different outlook to our situation. We also waited for ultrasounds in a room for 25+ minutes every single visit even though there are signs that say “Your time is important to us.” One time I went out trying to find someone because we waited 40 minutes and the MA bit my head off along with the ultrasound tech. Like I’m some kind of mind reader.Worst doctors I’ve ever encountered
I had my 20 week biophysical ultrasound here. They require that patients check in 15 minutes before appointment time. I appreciated that the clinic was not running late and my appointment started on time. From the front desk personnel to the doctor (Dr. Mezei), everyone was kind and courteous to my husband and I. The highlight of our visit was our Sonographer Cherae. She is knowledgeable, kind, warm, and explained everything she was seeing as she was scanning my fetus. Thank you for a pleasant experience, for reassuring me, and for helping calm this mother-to-bes worries.
Today was my second time coming into this clinic. My first experience at 12 weeks was amazing, my ultrasound tech made my experience so beyond memorable that I had such high expectations when I arrived today for my 20 week ultrasound. Unfortunately I don’t remember her name, but I hit the jackpot with her, you could tell she loved doing her job and was very respectful.Today was 100% different. The medical assistant named Aubrey was very disrespectful to me for no apparent reason at all. She must hate her job because for the short time I had to be around her, she was extremely unpleasant and very direct in a rude manner. Hoping to have a better feel from the ultrasound tech that came in, it was the total opposite. She was quick in something that’s supposed to be a special moment and last awhile, didn’t explain anything to me happening in my ultrasound and had terrible bedside manner. Her name was Brianne. Almost every word that came out of her mouth was unprofessional and uncomfortable to be around. She made my experience worse. I am not only hormonal due to being pregnant but I am at a HIGH RISK PREGNANCY CLINIC where issues can arise. Why would I want to be treated the way I was treated by your staff? Grow the hell up, have some compassion for your patients, and learn how to be professional in the setting you have chosen to work in. It’s disgusting to me how these two women acted and made my appointment so devastating. I am glad I won’t be returning to this clinic. Very unpleased.
The very first doctor I saw diagnosed me with something without consulting my primary care provider, and proceeded to milk my insurance for testing and procedures. I quit going on my second visit where a second, different OB doctor wouldnt even discuss multivitamin information with me and referred me to a nurse who also wouldnt remove the diagnosis from my chart until I either took testing or proved I didnt have the diagnosis. When I cancelled my appointments to find a new OB doctor elsewhere, the receptionist lied about asking me why I chose to find another doctor and said I said not at this time to her asking me for a reason. Very treacherous and untruthful organization!
I was so impressed with this clinic. Our Sonographer, I think her name was Brianna, put both my husband and I at ease with her conversation and comforting words. The provider that we saw later, Dr. Barber, was friendly and comforting as well- both knew we were stressed and scared. I’m so thankful for them specifically, however the rest of the clinic staff was kind and offered understanding during our time at the clinic. I hope I never have to go back, but if you have to go, please know you will be in great hands. Especially to the sonographer! She was AMAZING!
I was referred to this clinic and was changed to a high risk pregnancy at 7 months pregnant almost a month ago and they still will not/have not scheduled me. They keep telling me they are “missing documents” from my OB office and when I call my OB- they inform me that they have fulfilled every request that has been sent…. Mind you this is from the SAME CAMPUS at Sacred Heart Medical Center. For a “High Risk Pregnancy” Clinic they truly don’t seem to have patient centered care or customer service.
Highly recommend. If you have a high risk pregnancy this office is on top of it. I switched from a regular OB office after finding out my pregnancy was high risk and it was the best decision I could have made. The providers, MA’s, nurses, ultrasound staff are all amazing. Great crew all around!
DO NOT GO HERE FOR GENETIC COUNSELING: you aren’t going to be seen by a doctor, unless you get an ultrasound. Even then, the doctors only try to scare you. Also, this business uses deceptive billing practices and never refunds patients. It is my new life’s mission to make sure pregnant women are not taken advantage of here. I went here back in November 2017 (2017!) and I saw a “counselor”. All she did was go over my family tree and tell me tests I should get, but she can’t give medical advice only generalizations. My insurance wouldn’t pay because I wasn’t seen by a doctor. The office manager was working with my medical coordinator and received a call that I was not going to have to pay. The office manager never called us back. I was told in August by the office manager that she was looking into it. I’ve called to follow up and never received a response. It’s a very poorly managed/organized office that will end up costing women money for a service they could use google for. Don’t go here. Go somewhere else where the staff actually cares. I plan on filing a complaint with the Attorney General and filing a small claims suit for the money I paid. It’s a scam on pregnant women and their emotions. Thankfully, my baby is healthy, my doctor told me to ignore the advice of the doctor that reviewed my ultrasound, and the advice I received regarding genetic counseling was worthless. I’ve spent hours trying to get paid my money back.
I went in for an ultrasound and was told my daughter could not be in the room, she was so heart broken she couldnt see her sibling. My husband and my five year old had to sit in the waiting room while I went in for an ultrasound. I was very sad that they missed out on the experience. I understand that its the clinic policy but maybe there should be a change or exception. If there is another adult to watch child in case he or she gets out of control to walk out of the room.Other local imaging clinics dont have this ridiculous policy and if they do they make exceptions.I will not be returning to have any future ultrasound at this place.
I was pleasantly surprised with the care I received and will be going back for all my future ultrasounds. I was referred to Materal Fetal Medicine because of a positive quad screening for elevated levels of AFP. I was terrified this meant the worst, so I was emotional and anxious going in for the ultrasound. With the exception of the receptionist, everyone I came in contact with was compassionate, patient, and kind. The genetics counselor, Tanya, was kind and explained everything in easy-to-understand terms. She offered her card at the end if I had any questions in the future. The sonographer put us at ease with her wonderful sense of humor and kept the hour-long ultrasound light-hearted and informative. Dr. Mezei was personable and sympathetic. He answered all questions; I did not feel rushed in anyway. I would highly recommend this office.
I drove two hours for my appointment with MFM. Called the office on my way to let them know I would be a few minutes late and they told me they would still see me. When I showed up they refused to see me for being 2 mins late. They said they were behind, but there was no one in the waiting room. They asked me to reschedule and I declined. I would avoid going here if at all possible.
I was referred here by my OB for a second opinion because of some potentially concerning findings on my regular 20-week ultrasound. I had a great experience at the high risk clinic, and I felt like the staff overall was extremely compassionateh and highly knowledgeable. They took excellent care of us, and it was a great atmosphere. Tanya did our genetics consultation. She was very sweet, soothing, accommodating, and knowledgeable. She was also very good at explaining everything for us to understand, and she always took care to check with us for questions and to address themI thoroughly. I felt very cared for, and I learned a lot! So interesting! Our ultrasound tech was Gwyn, and she did a great job with what our baby was willing to give her. (Little Squirt moved aalot, and always where the poor tech didnt want her to go.) But she knew her business, and she was nice and professional. I could sense that she was very experienced. Then we saw Dr. Miller to discuss the ultrasound findings and our options. He gave us all the detail we wanted and was sure to explain things in a way we could understand. I appreciated his calm and sweet demeanor. (He kinda looks like Wash from Firefly! x-D) He was also very accommodating and was sensitive to what my husband and I wanted and what we were comfortable with. He gave us all our options without any sense of judgement or confrontation. The front desk staff was hilarious! They were a lovely group of ladies, and I could feel that they have good chemistry together. The office itself was clean, calm, and modern. Good looking tech equipment. Good detail on the ultrasound. Overall, Im thankful for the work those folks did for my family, and it was a pleasant visit.
The office staff is terrible. The seriously kicked my disable mom out of their office because my two year old started to cry while I was having an ultrasound. I called and filed a complaint with the main boss, but she doesnt seem to have a problem with this type of behavior. Apparently, this seems just fine with her to kick someone out for their kids crying. I would not recommend anyone going here if they already have kids. This is not the first time I was treated rudely there, but it will be the last!!!!!
My doctor referred me here to get my gestational diabetes under control as my doctors office does not have a nutritionist. After meeting with the nutritionist once my blood sugar numbers came down quite a bit but my morning blood sugar numbers are still high. After calling numerous times to ask the nutritionist what I can do to lower the morning blood sugar, I received a voicemail saying they will not help me with that because my doctor is managing my gestational diabetes. I will likely need another referral there for them to answer a simple question that would not take them more than a few minutes to answer.
I was given insulin that I was allergic to they refused to prescribe a different insulin. They refused to let me talk to my Dr. after a severe reaction to the insulin. I went to deaconess where they took me off all the insulin Allison was prescribing to me which made me hypoglycemic almost on a daily basis. I was told taking 15 units of humalog before checking blood sugars was absolutely not ok. Which is what they had me doing. I haven’t been prescribed humalog since obtaining a new doctor because I never needed it. I had never been so sick in my entire life. Do not go here if you are diabetic.
Had incredibly bad news given to me once I was referred here and Dr Miller was very kind, compassionate and respectful of what we were going through. The Sonographer was great too, eased my nerves and spent time allowing me to grieve. Wonderful staff. I will be going here weekly from now on and I’m glad.
The people who worked with me my whole pregnancy was amazing they were right on top of everything but the day I came in to have my daughter they had completely disrespected my whole family including the ones that had not caused any problems they then proceeded to tell me that my whole family wouldn’t be aloud to visit me during visitation time but my bfs family was aloud to come and visit I definitely would not go here to have another kid the disrespect my family went through that day was very unprofessional
I went for my whole pregnancy with them the front desk ladies are amazing the MAs are amazing and the doctors made sure I had a healthy pregnancy and a healthy delivery. I couldnt thank you guys enough you are all amazing. I recommend these people without 2nd guessing I miss my OB appts and sharing happiness laughter accomplishment at every visit
Everyone is amazing all the doctors the nurse Kim and the ultrasound techs. I had a issue with one mean tech on my 1st ultrasould but just work around her now because everyone else is amazing.
We did not have a good experience with this company. we were promised a price for a few hundred dollars and then found out that bill was nearly a thousand. they will add on charges that you are not aware you are getting. They will also refuse to correct their excessive billing. this should be illegal.
