The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a doctor’s office. My first appointment I waited 20 minutes to be told my doctor (Dr. Ruth) was gone in surgery and to reschedule to a new day after taking PTO and almost 2 h off in total to be there. I waited an hour for a Pap smear the next Time. I then waited 55 minutes in the office past my appointment time just to sign a consent form for surgery. But she seemed good so I didn’t complain. Her incompetence and practice of care below standard were soon to follow that I will not detail at this time. RUN
Dr. Ruth has been the most supportive doctor I have ever had. Shes given my husband and I so much hope trying to get pregnant after all these years. She is confident in her abilities and her knowledge. We are so lucky and blessed to have found her. Thank you for everything youve done for us Dr. Ruth. Even though theres more to be done, Im thankful to have you guiding us.
The doctor I saw was extremely ableist and began to infantilise me the moment she found out I was autistic, berating me about my life choices and asking me if my family would approve. After performing a pelvic exam, she patted my knee and told me that Id earned a gold star for how well I did. Then when I tried to schedule an appointment with a different doctor, I was told that this wasnt possible and that if I was to go back to that practice, I would be forced to be seen by the same doctor or a nurse practitioner under her overview. I dont want that woman to have anything to do with my healthcare ever again and am on the hunt for a new GYN that will respect me and my wishes.
Dr. Satterfield has been my gynecologist over a decade and was my obstetrician for my two pregnancies. She is kind with a great laugh. She is up to date on current medical recommendations and listens and works with you to plan your birth safely. She was able to professionally present scary news about a rare complication I was having in one of my pregnancies with kindness and in a way that left me feeling cared for and in good hands. Overall, she managed my both my pregnancies and deliveries beautifully. Im so glad she was there when I got to meet my daughters. Her office is brand new and staff is great. There was a short time when they were short staffed as the pandemic was winding down and couldnt answer the phones in a timely manner, but they fixed that quickly. Also, everyone is very responsive on the MyChart app.Sometimes the providers are running behind, but thats expected and forgivable in OB- as they cant plan when their clients go into labor or might need an emergency intervention. But even when rushed, every provider Ive seen in the office is professional.Overall, Im grateful for the care Ive received at this office, and I highly recommend them to others. I have heard great things about all the providers here too
This is the worst medical office I have ever been to. At 8 months pregnant I made the decision to transfer offices. I did lab work when I was 3 months pregnant adn for some reason the labs were never sent out. My provider did not notice this until I was 7 months pregnant. My appointments were consistently cancelled, my concerns dismissed and when i requested my records be transferred elsewhere it took over 1 month. At this stage in pregnancy I should be seeing a provider every week but am unable to do so because Providence is stalling in sending my records over.
I would not recomend this office for OB care. I switched out of this office half way through my pregnancy due to poor patient care. Being rushed through every appointment, even having the doctor grab my purse off the wall hook, hand it to me and said see you next time after a 3 minute appointment. One of these very short appointments was when the Dr informed me that my baby was in a low percentile and had been for the last two ultrasounds in a row(4th percentile) but advised they would monitor. I left worried and unsure of what questions to even ask this being the first i heard of it and being told everything looked great before. I called the next day to obtain more information and only was able to talk to the MA who couldnt give me the answers of what even makes a baby considered low percentile and then said if it would make me feel better theyd refer me to a specialist. This is when I seeked care for another opinion and switched to a new office. They new office right away saw that doctor Satterfields office was inputting my dates wrong all of a sudden, multiple appointments into my pregnancy. Therefore, making the baby fall at a low percentile. They had me see a specialist asap, as a standard of their care and the specialist confirmed that it was an error with doctor Satterfields office in putting the wrong information. Such a simple mistake that caused so much worry and stress. If they would take more than a couple minutes with their patients, they would have realized this error and all of this could have been avoided. After multiple attempts by phone and email to address the issue with doctor Satterfield, I have yet to have any correspondence back addressing the mistake made. If you are looking for education throughout your pregnancy or looking for a compassionate team to help you through this special time in your life of being pregnant, you may not find it at this office. They clearly do not have time or the true care for their patients .
Im disgusted at the unprofessionalism of this office. If you have an adolescent who needs gynecological care, DO NOT even try to come to this office. They will give you incorrect information, keep rescheduling your appointment for random reasons and show zero compassion.Providence motto claims to be based on the ministry of Jesus?? Yeah, this office is the opposite. Such a shame that the staff and office manager ruin a whole practice.
The facility itself is beautiful and new. Scheduling was easy and all staff I encountered were great! I was quickly seen and didnt wait long at all. Dr Ruth is an intelligent and compassionate doctor. She is non-judgmental and approachable. Id recommend her to anyone who is looking for an obgyn!
I do not have enough kind words to share about Dr. Ruth. She makes your healthcare visit a personal experience and not just another hurried doctor’s appointment. She is kind, compassionate, and patient and takes the time to address my concerns, no matter how big or small they may seem. I feel blessed that she took such wonderful care of me with during my recent miscarriage. I’m so happy I switched OBGYN care to this practice. The service was a night and day difference from the previous office I visited. I felt welcomed and cared for! I would recommend all my family and friends here.
Serene at this office was wonderful! My wife was struggling getting an appointment even after our referral mentioned it was needed immediately but after finally speaking to Serene she was helpful, apologetic, and solved the issue quickly and efficiently. Thankful for good customer care!
Dr. Steven Richards is far and away the most intelligent, compassionate and intelligent OBGYNS ever. He helped deliver my daughter via emergency c-section and helped my through many difficult operations leading up to a hysterectomy. He is now my daughters doctor. I would not trust anyone else with her care!!
My experiences at this practice have been great. They helped me navigate through an ectopic pregnancy last February with kindness and concern. Dr Satterfield is one the nicest, most knowledgeable doctors Ive ever been to! The office staff, MAs, nurse practitioners are all so friendly and patient as well. I will be staying here for all of my OBGyn needs.
I had no complaints until I tragically miscarried my first pregnancy at 5 months while visiting family in another state. I called to receive information needed by the funeral home and had to speak with a woman I’d never met before (I believe her name was Katrina) who only gave me the info I needed and then said “I cancelled your next appointment” I was never given any sympathy, any guidance, any type of support. I didn’t even receive a call from my OB or anyone from her team. Because I am navigating through this traumatic experience alone with insufficient medical guidance/support, I am sure I will not return to this office for my next pregnancy.
Its usually a pleasant experience but they definitely need to fire the receptionist whos name is Selene. She is extremely rude, as well as completely inpatient! Then she wants to act oblivious to her behavior. What a complete mess!
I have been seeing my doctor for 20yrs when he suddenly retired. After making a few calls, I was told he recommended here. Which made sense since his previous location merged with this office, as he was at the womens center at Providence. After looking up their doctors, I called to make an appt for my daughter and I to continue the same care we had under our pervious gyno. I requested a Dr who I thought would be a good fit for my needs. The front desk refused and kept telling me I had to see an ARNP. I explained my past medical issues and why I wanted to see the Dr I requested. I kept getting excuses like I would have to wait a lot longer to be seen, I said that was fine. Then I was told I would still need to see an Arnp, but I could try and get another appt with the Dr I wanted to see next time. I told her I didnt want to waste my time or money seeing someone just to try and see a different doctor who I wanted to establish care with in the first place. And if I cant, Ill just go somewhere else. Finally, I was told they would have to ask if that was allowed and would get a call back. I get theres shortage of MDs, but after 20yrs of having one of the best obgyn surgical specialists, I know my needs are not simple, nor textbook easy. If they wont let patients request who they want to establish care with and best for my needs, then why would I want to go there and get ignored on other issues? I took the red flag warning as that and will not go here. Im fortunate I got the past care I did and will now have to start over, and it wont be here.
I went through my first pregnancy here with Dr. Traci Satterfield. She is so kind and really cares about you as a patient. She always answered my questions and made me feel like I wasnt just a number. I recommend her to any woman in my life who needs an OB.
WONDERFUL experience from the first time I walked in through the delivery of my son and every appointment in between. Dr. Hechtman was amazing! Always so attentive and seemed to have all the time in the world, never rushed in appointments. She is very knowledgeable and always had research to back up her information. She was very personable and we felt comfortable from day 1. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I saw Dr. Henderson when I was pregnant with my twins and I cant say say enough kind words about her, she took very good care of me from A to Z and always made me feel comfortable. Dr. Henderson is very experienced, understanding and caring. Thank you for the best experience and easy delivery!
I started going here because I was high risk and the doctor I chose had great reviews and ratings. First appointment I showed up to find out my appointment was with a nurse, they proceeded to ask which doctor I’d like to see. I had waited for my appointment assuming the doctor I had asked for would be present at my appointment, nope she wasn’t even in that day. I had tons of questions with it being my first pregnancy so while they’ve got me up on the table for a pap which was I wasn’t expecting she proceeds to ask what was my question. None of my high risk issues were addressed and they told me waiting to tell people until 12 weeks was old school and I might as well announce my pregnancy now. Later, I got a bill for $500 toward labor, when I called billing she said oh you didn’t get the packet explaining how we collect that cost up front. No it was a complete shock. After my second appointment they checked the baby, everything was fine and sent me home. I felt like my high risk concerns weren’t being addressed and still no packet about deposit for labor. At about 15 weeks along I decided to try a new OB/GYN. By the time I got in my baby had no heart beat. Was there anything that could have been done to prevent it, we don’t know yet but what I do know I won’t step one foot inside this door during my next pregnancy.
I absolutely love this office. Dr. Satterfield delivered my daughter in September. She is so warm, confident, and encouraging. I also saw Jan, Sally, and Jana (NPs) during my pregnancy and loved all of them. Their triage RN, Ashley, always called back immediately when I had pregnancy related questions. The ultrasound techs, medical assistants, schedulers, and front desk ladies are all so kind and I felt like they truly cared about me. I highly recommend this office. I am shocked there are so many bad reviews! I went here for all prenatal, pregnancy, and postnatal appts so I’ve been here A LOT. I’m an RN, I have a low tolerance for poor medical care, and I drove from CDA for all my visits. I genuinely recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent OB care.
Didnt believe what I said about my birth control. Im on the Nexplanon implant which through research in 2016 was found to last 5 years. Ive been on the implant for 3 years. When they found this out they insisted I got my implant replaced and when I explained to them that it actually lasts 5 years they refused to believe me. I told them that I got it implanted at Planned Parenthood and they could have easily called them to confirm or clear up any confusion. But they did not. Ive met many doctors before who have said that when they dont know something or arent sure if they know something they Google it. This could have easily been done, but no. As soon as I left the appointment I went ahead and looked it up myself and found thousands of articles on websites ending in .gov and .edu that confirmed that it does last up to 5 years. Very frustrated by this experience and I will be canceling the appointment they insisted I scheduled to replace it.
Absolutely phenomenal and quality service! Highly recommend this OB office for all OB needs. Dr. Ruth and her team were always kind and professional. They always treated me with respect and took the time to answer any and all questions. I also love that they validate parking! The receptionists and nurses I encountered were always quick to say hello and help when needed. The office itself is well kept and clean!
Extremely disappointed. I saw Dr. Satterfield during my last pregnancy and clearly and efficiently communicated our plans to have as natural of a birth (with minimal interventions) as possible and she was not on board at all. She treated me as if I was a child and talked down to me everyone time I attempted to share my education on natural birth. Thankfully, she was not there to deliver my son, but Dr. Smetana was. I loved her so much more because she was so much more encouraging and even came to see me and my son the following day and continued to tell me what a great job I did. I decided I wanted to switch to Dr. Smetana for future appointments and deliveries but found out that the policy in that practice is that patients cannot switch from one doctor to another in that practice. I will now be searching for a completely new office to begin visits for my second pregnancy. 😔
When I got pregnant I originally called here wanting to book with Dr. Satterfield because of all the amazing things Id heard, but I got scheduled with Dr. Hechtman which turned out to be a blessing. She delivered my daughter in 2019 and literally saved my life. I will now never go to anyone else to deliver my babies in the future. Nothing but good things to say about her, she is so sweet!❤
I LOVE Dr. Hechtman. She has been my doctor through all three of my pregnancies, cant give her enough kuddos! All three had different concerns, which she was always quick to address, she is easy to talk to, and makes my husband and I feel completely comfortable. I highly recommend her.
These people dont deserve any stars!!!!!!!!! The staff verbally abused, belittled, insulted, mocked and guilt tripped my wife when she went in to ask questions when we were sent in. The most unprofessional staff I have ever met!!! The worst fast-food joint youve ever been to has better service and staff than these nurses. They consistently ignored the health concerns and questions she had, they dismissed out of hand and suggested potentially dangerous practices to my wife to take extra prescription meds with no confirmed lab tests and then mocked her for not. Never got to see the doc.... Youd get better treatment at a vets office....
Very disappointed in the office staffs considerably unhelpful and rude response when requesting an appointment. I called to see if they were taking new patients and the person who answered the phone said yes, but the next appointment for an annual exam would be 3-6 months. When I told her I needed to an exam for some issues I was having, she flat out said no, youll need to find some place else. While I understand clinics are likely booked out due to playing catch up from COVID restrictions earlier this year, the way in which she responded to my questions was short and put off the sense that my request for a visit was an inconvenience and irritating. There are nicer ways to communicate with potential patients. I would not recommend this clinic solely for the poor way I was treated by the receptionist.
Ive been seeing Sally for years and shes a dream. Thoughtful, helpful, and an excellent provider. Im now seeing Dr. Henerson and she, along with her amazing team, have been nothing but great. Questions get answered quickly and efficiently, and Im always able to get in for an appointment when need be. I cannot recommend this office enough!
I had to find a new OBGYN due to my insurance changing to Tricare and was recommended to OBGYN Associates.I already have preexisting problems and my husband and I are trying to conceive. Dr Hetchman told me that she was going to schedule a Hysterasonogram, which is a pelvic ultrasound where they inject saline into the uterus to see more in depth. She told My husband and I to stop having unprotected sex leading up to the hysterosonogram because she didnt want to risk pregnancy because the saline would cause miscarriage. This procedure had to be accepted through Tricare first so she told me that she would have her assistant send in the referral form and call me with in the week to set up an appointment. 2 weeks went by and I had not yet heard anything so I ended up calling them to see what was going on. Dr Hetchmans assistant told me that she forgot to send the referral in so it would be at least another week. When it finally got approved, the assistant also forgot to send it into Inland Imaging.I was supposed to have my appointment with Inland Imaging today, but when I got there they tell me that the referral that they received was only for a normal pelvic ultrasound, not the saline ultrasound. Im beyond irritated at this point, after over a month of waiting for this to see if my my uterine polyps and scarring need to be removed, and my husband and I taking the day off of work, its not even for the correct procedure.I will be finding a new OBGYN on Monday.
Dr Hechtman has been my DR for going on 8 years. I’ve never had a baby or pregnancy under her care, but have had a surgical procedure and many appts with her for yearly check ups, to ultrasounds & a biopsy. She is always very friendly and informative and answers all my questions. I recently had a scare with an abnormal mammogram, knowing my family high cancer history Dr Hetchman called me personally that day to assure me it common for woman my age to have to go back for a second mammogram. I feel confident with her as my primary OBGYN and recommend her to others.
I had a horrible experience here! I had an appt w Dr Hechtman. I had to schedule an entire month in advance. My appointment was at 2pm and I arrived on time with paperwork done and was told the doctor had left ten minutes earlier. I was confused why the doctor would leave when I had an appointment and was told by the lady at the front desk that I should have come early. I was given no notice that the doctor was leaving and they were completely rude and unaccommodating. I was told I needed to wait another four weeks to make an appointment. Worst customer service I’ve ever had and a doctor who is willing to walk out and leave her patients hanging! I absolutely would not recommend to anybody!
I have been a patient of Dr Hechtmann for a few years and she is amazing. She is professional and kind. She has passion for her job and really cares about her patients. Most of my medial issues are menopause related. Dr Hechtmann performed a hysterectomy for me and I am happy with the results. During the pre-op and post-op appointments she was very professional and explained everything in great detail. She also answered all of our questions about what to expect during recovery. On occasion, my appointmentss have been with a PA and the care was also excellent.
I have only had good experiences here. I see Dr.Henderson and she has always been nothing but kind and informative. Her care is excellent and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I have seen several other nurse practitioners and doctors here and have loved them as well. Everyone is friendly and has always taken my concerns seriously.
I have Dr. Satterfield as my primary ob and shes quick to leave the room after checking for my babies heart beat. It makes me feel as though Im an inconvenience to her whenever I have questions. Shes always smiling which is nice. In my second trimester I told her I was having terrible cramps in my legs that contours my muscles to lock up. She says (without even checking me up) its very common, its your calcium. Eat tums I was very against taking any type of meds during pregnancy but followed as she reassured me that it was safe. I then found out that it was from dehydration when i had to go to ER much later in pregnancy. I havent had my son yet. Just pray everythings where it should be, and hes as healthy as can be.
I had one appt here with a nurse practitioner. I cannot remember her name but she was awesome. I THOUGHT the appt went okay. I asked the nurse practitioner if they’d be able to fill out FMLA papers and an accommodation paper for my job since they’re a little more strict on absenteeism and extra breaks. The nurse practitioner immediately said oh yeah! We can get those filled out for sure! Just give them to the front and we’ll have them filled out and faxed in. A week went by and I was called asking where my papers were and if the dr has received them yet. I called and spoke with Krista, a MEDICAL ASSISTANT. Not only was she extremely rude, but she made it sound as though my morning sickness wasn’t bad enough because I’m not constantly throwing up and losing weight. I told her the NP said they’d fill them out and she said I’m just confused why you need these so soon. We don’t fill these out this early on. I was 7 weeks. I was having morning sickness and it was effecting my job!! Not once did she sound empathetic at all. So I went to deaconess and saw Janet Russell, an NP, not once did she hesitate to fill out the papers for me. She is also running several more tests based on my previous pregnancy that this place didn’t mention. Need a good OBGYN?? Go to deaconess! Awesome people!
Dr. Hectman was extremely unproffesional. Went in with my Fiancee, and Dr. Hectman was ignoring all of my Fiancees symptoms and did the only test my fiancee asked that they not do. She also asked inappropriate questions about my fiancee and my sexual relations, which had nothing to do with the appointment or issues that were brought up. She then proceeded to glare at me and give me a lecture about sex and STDs, ignoring my fiancee who was the patient. All around, a terrible place, and extremely unhelpful. Nothing my Fiancee came in for was addressed and the Dr. Hectman refused to serve my Fiancee any further, claiming she was negative. At the end of the appointment, she handed my fiancee a sticky note with two random names, no numbers, or addresses of other doctors to see, and left in a hurry.Dr. Hectman is the most unproffesional doctor I have ever met. I have seen and been to many doctors that were incompetent, but Dr. Hectman really is the definition of incompetent. Dr. Hectman should not be allowed to practice in the medical field if she cannot do what her job is, help people.
Love this place. Ladies up front are always very nice. Dr. Hechtman is great she’s very caring & makes me feel very comfortable. Ultrasound technician are great too, they’re so sweet. If I have more children I will definitely be going here again.
I went there for the first time yesterday. And I was a couple minutes late, downtown streets confuse me, but they were more than understanding and so nice compared to other reviews on here. I didnt have a negative experience, other than myself being late, none from the office. Dr. Grey is fantastic and a very very nice lady and would love to see her next check up.
Dr. Ruth was great and very attentive. I was able to schedule an appointment in a timely manner. She was very easy to talk to and very approachable. I highly recommend her as an OBGYN doctor.
Im 2.5 months left of my pregnancy and I really wish I chose a different OB/GYN to go to. I feel like the whole vibe of my pregnancy has been overall a negative experience since everytime I leave an appointment I feel like Im not good enough by the negative vibes from the doctors, and nurses.
I loved this place! It is super easy to make appointments, they have the ultra sound folks in the same office (which lets the doctor review the images and go over the results immediately after the ultra sound), and the lab is down the hall. The staff is super friendly and the doctors are top notch. Definitely would recommend this place.
Dr. Messinger and her nurse were amazing and truly showed compassion and care for me. I highly recommend if you want to be seen as a human and not a number. Very personalized care and they’re able to hear your concerns and help you feel comfortable.
Rude, inappropriate, refused to provide care. Dr Jody Hectman asked inappropriate sexual questions while glaring at my fiancee who was with me, and refused to provide me care. The office manager was equally rude and refused to allow me to see another doctor for basic procedures, and basically kicked me out of their office. Dont get GYN care here
They completely screwed me over. I had to have an emergency leave to a different state and come to find out the obgyn associates kept a serious condition from me. Ive had many ultrasounds with them and never heard anything!! Come to find at 37 weeks pregnant my medical records from them say i have velmantous cord insertion! My current doctor told me that hes inducing me because of this condition. I have to have an ultrasound before my induction to determine if the blood vessels of the cord are present in front of the head (vasa previa) and if they are it will be a c section. If not i can go with a regular carefully watched induction. If i have vasa previa and obgyn associates let me go into natural labor my baby could of been a still born by bleeding out.. I would find a new doctor. I feel so lied to and betrayed by these people. I cannot believe they have the decency to lie to a mother like that
Wife schedualed for C-section on a Wednesday and they wait till the Friday before to tell us we need tested for covid before baby can be delivered. Call the hospital and they tell us its our OBs job to schedule the test them selves. Not only that they have failed to give us alot of info as to the appropriate steps to take the night before. Communication is seriously lacking.
I feel like I am always heard, and nobody rushes me. They take time to answer all of my questions and I dont have to fight them to get diagnostic tests done. Its easy to get someone on the phone and everyone is friendly. The doctors are very competent.
The staff was so friendly!! When I saw Sally today, I knew she just got me. I was able to share some very personal information with her, she was right there to hand me a tissue and gave some very positive and helpful information!! Thank you all for being so kind!
I’ve been going to this clinic for over 10 years. All of the Doctors and RNs I’ve encountered both for annual check ups and the maternity appointments I had for both of my kids have been caring and kind. Great staff!
Dr. Smetana is amazing. I loved having her as my OB. She made my 2nd pregnancy experience so much bettter than my 1st OB. Will definitely be going back to her.
I had a somewhat unique case that I will not go into but I was treated with understanding and was listened to where I was ignored at other establishments. I found Dr. Hectman to be both professional yet very caring. Id recommend this place to anyone who want quality medical attention
I had a recommendation to see a gynecologist at an urgent care appointment, I called to make an appointment and they told me that that recommendation was wrong and I dont need a gynecologist. This was over phone, they wouldnt even help me and assumed they knew better than me.
I called them to pick an appointment and their receptionist was the rudest person I have ever spoke too. I said I did not want to give my ethnicity and told me to go somewhere else. How they have patients is beyond me.
Whats the point of having an option to request an appointment online if you guys arent going to email or call to tell appointment time? I have no problem calling but take the option away if youre not going to follow they on ur end
The doctors and nursing staff are absolutely wonderful, but dealing with the front desk staff is so incredibly frustrating. Hope their staffing changes when they merge with Providence.
They are the slowest OBGYN I’ve ever been to. Expect at least 20 minute holds and waiting in the office for at least 45 minutes.
Great clinic! Staff is very friendly and kind! Best obgyn clinic in Spokane!
I am not even past the front desk yet, been waiting 45 min. If the Dr.s are running this late please let patients know so we can arrive late.
Friendly front desk, doctors and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and give you the time you need. You never feel you’ve been rushed in and out.
Dr. Satterfield is the best!
Best on Obgyns in Spokane.
