I cannot emphasize enough just how amazing FCM was for us. After wasting some time and money at a bigger clinic, we finally found our home here. We no longer felt like numbers on a chart, but instead patients who mattered. The doctors are knowledgeable and talented and get results! It was only four months between our initial consultation and a positive pregnancy test! The embryology lab staff are unbelievably dedicated and helpful. They answered our numerous questions with patience and grace. The finance office staff worked very diligently to get us the best coverage with our insurance, and even they are rooting for your success! The highlight of the whole operation are the nurses. These ladies see a lot of patients each day but take the time to make you feel special, important, and respected. You learn very quickly who the true gems are- like Mercy, Angela, and Kelly. A few are newer and need some patience, but overall our experience was one of extreme compassion. We would recommend that you start here and not waste time elsewhere. Infertility is a rough enough beast and the treatment that FCM provides smoothed some of that for us. Wed give ten stars if we could!
First let me say I did become pregnant. However Dr.Bass I do not recommend her as your doctor. She’s in & out she doesn’t build rapport with you. I’m 100% certain if she seen me without looking at a chart she wouldn’t know my name! There’s another male doctors he’s amazing he did my last IUI & it ended up with a pregnancy. He came in the room made me feel comfortable talked to me the whole entire time, made jokes asked questions even thou he wasn’t my doctor! The nurses and assistants were amazing you can call and they’ll know it’s you when you walk in they greet you by your NAME! Facial recognition!!!! They’re very helpful and do there very best.. they’re always smiling they’ll take their time to talk with you!! Woman are paying thousands of dollars to get pregnant like myself & the experaince should be nothing but the best!!!!! I just didn’t get that with DR. Bass I felt like a pay check to Her! The rest of the staff and doctors I had an amazing experience
Amazing experience with amazing results! Infertility is so frustrating and unknown sometimes, its easy to lash out at the medical field when it doesnt go our way or easy to become frustrated when we dont get pregnant, the 1st, 2nd or even third time. Infertility is also hard for our loved ones to understand, like anything, if you havent been through it, its not as understandable. I went to the Fertility Center of Md, completely naive and baffled and clueless, I was referred by my OB/GYN, I am so grateful to them as well as Fertility Center of MD, true professionals, doctors with the utmost respect. Everyone explained each step to me as the Rollercoaster of baby life started. I knew nothing about the process(es) but l was in good hands. They told me of a counselor in their office who was available should I need to speak to someone, Ms Leila, she is amazingly helpful and kind too.The nurses (Mercy took all my calls and answered with profound knowledge and patience) and the Doctors all answered my questions over and over and since I didnt go to medical school and this was all new, I asked the same questions over again, I just know and am very grateful for their patience.Another wonderful, surprising call I had one day was when the embryologist Melissa called me, ha, to tell me my husbands stuff was normal and healthy.Just so many details and personal touches, I could go on and on, we are such grateful parents, our beautiful baby girl was born healthy, happy and amazing! Thank you, thank you for giving us hope and changing our lives Dr Padilla and Fertility Center of Md.
Im a veteran who returned from Middle East where I tried to conceive as a single woman. Blessings like cryobanks and doing IUIs or IVFs on your own are not for single (unmarried women). Arriving to MD where all fertility clinics are overbooked for months in advance was disappointing enough. However, at the Fertility Center of Maryland I was able to book myself relatively fast. All communications went smoothly, my voicemails were returned, prescriptions called to the Pharmacy near me, appointment kept as booked. Dr Padilla patiently answered my complicated questions and explained to me why his protocol is different than those I knew before in my 2 yrs of attempts for artificial insemination. He is an endocrinologist who discovered quickly through labs where my chemical gaps are. Im hopeful because he addressed my options and didnt push me into another IVF that I cant afford. I felt relaxed and cared for, not just a statistic. Nurses were very receptive to my (I admit) quite picky questions. Angela took care of me as we practiced intellectual games that make things fun for both of us. Im happy to be in good hands without needing to go again out of state or out of country. Parking is available right in front of the entrance.Later I changed my rating from 5 to 1 star. This has nothing to do with the technical service but with the wrongful accusation (even more, in public) that I attempted to print my own photos on the ultrasound machine. I wish there was a camera to prove that I didnt do it but instead, I decided to take my IVF cycle elsewhere. And when I succeed, Ill send them a baby postcard. You dont bite the hand that feeds you, especially because I asked for the damn photos. I believe that one of the nurses didnt like the fact that I told her that I had questions after one of the ultrasounds and they left me feel like a number while asking for me to make an appointment with the doctor. The ultrasound doctor was just there doing the procedure, so, instead, she avenged on a good customer. Ironically, that same nurse had no idea how to answer my technical questions related to her duties. Go on your own risk!By the way, Jones Institute in Norfolk, VA, performs IUIs for $350 for the procedure whereas at this clinic its a whopping $1,400. I prefer to drive and go to the pioneer of the IVF industry in America, the first ones that performed this procedure back in the 70s.
I just left and was dissatisfied with my visit. I felt as though my husband and I were like cattle in a herd of people wanting to find options and help to become pregnant.Dr. Bass was impersonal, strictly giving us numbers and facts. She even seemed annoyed though we were on time. The information was quickly and forcefully vomited at us, then we were asked if we had questions. Vomit is hard to catch unless prepared. (I know. I watched someone suddenly vomit on a school bus 2 days ago!) She lacked the personal connection a sensitive experience like this needs especially since pregnancy isnt guaranteed and is this is a personal for each individual. Interpersonal connections matter. For now, well explore our options until we discover which doctor is right to guide us through this process.
The doctors were great, but the nurses were impatient with me, both over the phone, and in person. I was hung up on more than once, especially by Mercy. Its terrible when you consider how vulnerable patients at this kind of place are already feeling. Being a nurse myself, I expect good nursing care. They did not offer online lab portals like modern offices, they screwed up my HSG. They did my labs during my luteal phase and never redid them during the follicular phase. They never measured my lining while on Clomid. I lost an entire 60 days of precious time waiting for my period that never came because they would not help me induce it during a failed anovulatory cycle. My last phone call to set up a new appointment went un-returned. Its fine, I took my business elsewhere since they didnt want my $$.Oh, and great update: they did not tell us the truth about our semen analysis. So its been wonderful wasting the last 5 months trying with timed intercourse on clomid and not even addressing the other half of the problem. Thanks a lot!
I have been goin here for two years and only got pregnant once.(padilla) not only that each time it didnt they only said you wanna try again ? (no I wouldnt like to waste more money) how about you try to figure out why im not getting pregnant. I thought after 3 iui they recommend ivf but im kinda glad they didnt. im goin to go elsewhere if this iui fails. any time you call and speak to the nurse its like they have a attitude because your asking questions. dr bass is always late for my iui. or she have you sit in the room for 30 minutes at a time. I just wish I would have researched more and not just pick the first place I saw on google.
I love the service and the entire staff is very patient and kind. They make you feel like family and not a number like the other big name fertility centers. I would definitely recommend Fertility Center of Maryland!
Wrost place ever I called ahead of time. To make sure what they where gonna do to me they said ultrasound and blood work made me miss work waist of time they charge $250 just to sit there and talk no thanks if I could give it no stars I would
I love this place! They were patient with me and took their time to really evaluate me. They were the reason why I was able to get a septrum removed since they had found it! I recommend this place!
No interaction with the doctor after my initial visit and zero results over 6 months. Very unprofessional doctors who randomly change their hours as they see fit. Go to Shady Grove.
They dont waste no time, and very friendly.
Dr. BASS is very unprofessional and rude
