Shady Grove is a well-oiled machine. They are well-staffed and prepared to handle every issue. I only met with Dr. Beall once, but she seemed very knowledgeable and supportive. My assigned nurse, Rachel, is who I corresponded with the most, and she was AMAZING. So attentive and caring. The employees I interacted with in their Towson office were also wonderful. I particularly appreciated the fact that they had a team of people who specifically worked with insurance (I didnt have to hassle my insurance, they did it for me). We were just discharged last week and are looking forward to welcoming a baby in the new year!
Ive been going to this practice for the last couple years and honestly within the last year I can tell you that the practice definitely feels more positive. Staff are welcoming and the providers are so knowledgeable.A couple drawbacks it is rather hard to get through over the phone when trying to make an appointment. The other is sometimes the wait can be challenging especially since you have to pay to park for your appointments. But I think staff does the best they can with the space they have to work with. Maybe a larger location for this bustling practice is a recommendation?
Ive been a frequent visitor of this office over the past two years. While it is such a hard time with a lot of emotional ups and downs, the staff is always so welcoming and supportive. Having to get your blood drawn so frequently is never a fun experience but the staff were always so gentle and efficient (Shout out to Morgan who was the one I saw and got to know the most) that it was over and done with a smile before you knew it!
I absolutely love Shady Grove. The staff is amazing. From the Nursing Aids , to the Nurses and the Doctors, everyone makes you feel welcomed. Dr Stephanie Beall and DO Emily Barnard are awesome 🤩. They are the best. Love being a patient there.
Who made me smile today?!!!!The medical assistant that wear the cool glasses(sorry I don’t remember her name) she is very kind and professional.Wende Allen, PA, very professional, compassionate and kind!Thank you guys for the good wishes!Wilmary Fleischmann
If I can give zero stars I would. Shady Groves is an excellent name for this establishment because the office staff is in fact Shady. The front desk and office staff are very condescending and have disgusting attitudes. The staff needs training on customer service and how to treat patients and some of the staff as well. You cant have people who are as nasty as the face of the facility. Please do better in screening who you hire for your facility.
After years of bodily challenges and being 43, we were finally introduced to Dr. Amrane, Beth and their great Support Team. Thanks again for holding our hands through some very emotional times. Most hospitals weve gone to felt like we were being thrown into a factory. However, Dr. Amrane and the Team were always very comforting, professional and thorough. It isnt very often you come across folks who actually care and are willing to go to the extra mile. For instance, we had a hysteroscopy with another Shady Grove Dr., and Dr. Amrane came out of her way to the surgical room just to insure it was done perfectly. Now as a Shady Grove Fertility Alumni, were in the 2 trimester, and keeping our fingers crossed. We wouldnt be here today if it wasnt for Dr. Amrane and her wonderful Team.
Shady Grove Fertility in Towson was wonderful throughout my IVF journey over the past year and a half. My nurse Maya was always there to answer any questions I had within the same day of me messaging her and really supported me through my egg retrievals and transfers. I will miss talking to her so much but I know she will always just be a phone call or portal message away! Morgan always made me laugh and smile even on days when I didnt want to get my blood drawn and I loved her fun crocs and scrubs! She also gave really good hugs! Dr. Barnard...all I can say is WOW. Ive never met a doctor so thorough, patient, and kind, with the best bedside manner. Whenever we had a phone call I never felt like any question or concern was too small and always had her undivided attention for as long as I needed. If you are looking for a compassionate doctor who is very forward thinking and knowledgeable, Dr. Barnard is it. Grateful for my tribe at SGF!
Jeanette at bloodwork is always so warm and welcoming. She makes an effort to pronounce my name correctly so I feel seen and known. She always asks how I am which puts me at ease. In a time that can seem hard and lonely she truly is a blessing!
Shady grove overall is not that great. The nurses and my doctor have always been nice but not very responsive when you need them. They always say to call in if you need anything but I can never actually get anyone on the phone....majority of the communication is through the portal. Or a telephone call from a weekend nurse that cant answer my questions and tells me to call back on Monday to speak to my team. The check in desk is unprofessional & no one answers the phones. The techs who take you back are also very unorganized and don’t seem sure as to what is going on for your appointment. I hope to never have to return here after my treatments.
I am not understanding the bad reviews. This is my first IVF cycle and am a current patient at the Towson location. My doctor, Dr. Amrane is amazing. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and I am very happy with the protocol she has me on. I have to go to monitoring appointments very often, so I interact with the office staff, phlebotomists, and nurses (amazing), quite regularly. They are all very pleasant, accommodating, kind, and timely. Out of my many many appointments, I’ve only had a long wait once, which was on a Saturday. But, I understood because the office is not open as late. Any fertility treatment is emotionally and physically very hard, but I am happy to be going to the Towson location during this difficult journey.
The front desk staff are passive aggressive, rude and unprofessional. They are careless with your time and will cancel your appointment without prior notification. I completed all of my documentation prior to my visit, took off from work, and drove from Harford County to Baltimore County, paid for parking, walked inside and was told my appointment was cancelled. Mind you, I spoke with a representative prior to my appointment. The representative confirmed that all documentation was received. But somehow when I arrive for my appointment, my paperwork magically disappeared. They were not apologetic or sympatric. They didnt even attempt to re-schedule my appointment. They were all rude, sarcastic and challenged everything I said as if I was a liar. I encourage anyone looking for assistance to save yourself the stress and look elsewhere because this facility is a joke.
My review of shady grove comes right from their name, shady! Did a sperm test and found out I had 0% sperm morphology only for them to tell me it’s not a big deal and just continued to take my sperm for back to back failed IUIs instead of actually finding out why it was at 0%. Instead they focused on finding problems with my wife and putting her through painful and awkward exams that she never needed in the first place (btw they didn’t find any issue, who would’ve guessed…). They also would not take a sperm sample I gave them for IUI because I forgot my ID at home yet I had a picture of my ID, they have my ID in the system and I had been there multiple times previously. So I had sat there while they “sent emails” for over an hour only for them to tell me they were waiting for answers from the upstairs office and the upstairs office was waiting for answers from the downstairs office. 3 hours had gone by and my wife had to run back home to get my ID and come back but somehow they still took the sample and told me it was still fine. Come to find out after giving me the results of the sample back, it was not an ideal sample and should’ve never been used but of course they took it so I had to pay. Our insurance decided to drop Shady Grove thank god so we picked up our treatments at Johns Hopkins and they immediately addressed my sperm morphology with a urology specialist. After an ultrasound I found out I had a cyst and varicocele in my tested causing the infertility and issue with sperm morphology. All in all I would never return to Shady Grove, they just want your money and are extremely vague with explaining your results without giving you any reassuring answers.
First to the people who left one star about their front desk is horribly incorrect. I spoke to Jordan and Shanice they have pure hearts of gold. I a problem with paperwork. Jordan called me unfortunately I couldn’t finish the call but her team member Shanice when I called. She handled the situation perfectly with me while HYSTERICALLY CRYING on the phone. Thank you ladies for all you have done for us 🩷🧡💙
The Towson location is a poor representation of this company. I had to come here for an appointment because the Mechanicsburg location isn’t open on Sundays. I drive an hour and a half to get here and I can’t find the place and NO ONE bothered to answer the phone. When I finally get here, I stand at the desk and wait as the ignorant receptionist, who already refused to answer the phone, IGNORES ME and the ringing phone. I’m forced to look around for instructions on how to check in. I fill out the stupid check in slip and she simply says, “They’ll call you back when they’re ready.” Ok…do I just stand here and wait? Where’s the waiting area? Which of the three separate waiting areas do I go to? Apparently, I picked the wrong one. What kind of establishment doesn’t GREET patients when they arrive? The receptionist is supposed to be the face of the clinic, this location’s face is RUDE AS HELL, and judging by all the reviews on her demeanor, she’s lucky she doesn’t work for me or she’d be job hunting.
I had a wonderful appointment at this location last week. The energy and optimism in the room from Dr. Wendy Allen and Nurse Jeannette Munoz was exactly what I needed. Bless you both 🙏🏽
I had to get my blood drawn for genetic testing today and I am not a fan of having my blood drawn. Morgan was my phlebotomist and did a fantastic job. 100/10 would recommend her.
I initially had reservations working with such a large clinic - would I feel heard? Would I get personalized care? YES! Dr Beall and her team have been phenomenal to work with. Infertility robs you of so, so many things, but having great people in your corner definitely helps. THANK YOU to everyone at the SGF Towson location for helping us.
I traveled to the SGF - Towson location for an HSG procedure. This was 2 hours away for me and I was extremely nervous to have this done, but the wonderful staff made me feel so comfortable. The procedure ended up being super easy, minimal discomfort and it was overall a great experience.
I feel as though they are not very friendly and don’t really work to make you feel good or more at ease with what ever situation you’re going through. From the representatives on the phone, all the way down to the ultrasound tech and or Doctor. The only people who have a good bedside manner are the ladies that draw blood and nurses that take you back to the rooms. I had an ultrasound and they were teaching a new tech, who I did not consent to doing my ultrasound. I understand that people have to learn and I typically don’t mind them using my appointments to teach new colleagues male or female, but typically I’m asked before they come in doing stuff. You should always make sure your patient is comfortable with a man doing her pre screening ultrasound.
I am blessed to have had a success story five years ago and have a 4-year-old miracle thanks to Shady Grove (Baltimore Harbor). However, the last four years have been extremely challenging and unsuccessful in our journey to have a second child. Through all of the hope and loss, the team at Towson has been more than a staff -- they have been our friends. The care and support I have gotten from each team member -- from the front desk staff, nurses, phlebotomists, and doctors -- I cant thank each person enough for their love and care. A special shoutout to the people who work in the OR. On our darkest days, I have had someone to hold my hand and cry with. Thank you for all you have done.
It’s already stressful enough that you are in a situation that requires you to go here. The staff, with the exception of the phlebotomist, are not friendly at all. They seem to be agitated and unbothered, like they are irritated at your presence, in person or on the phone. Honestly, my Dr is no better. In the 2-3yrs I have had to go there, I have only seen my Dr. twice and she simply made me feel like a statistic and another check in the box. I had an appointment where they seem to be teaching a new staff, ( I didnt appreciate that at all). Absolutely no courtesy, Is it too much to have asked me, the patient or at least made me aware so Im not uncomfortable. They paint this picture like they are willing to help but ultimately they frustrated me and my husband while of course collecting $$. The last person i just spoke to on the phone today, after trying to make an appointment for the past 5 days with no success, had a very condescending tone; she ended up transferring me to a voicemail of a nurse that is out of the office for a week. Im no lab rat and that is the feeling I get each time I have to deal with them. It’s unfortunate that so many women are having issues with conception and Shady Grove is not a place I would recommend to my worst enemy. The only good thing I would say is, this has made me more aware of actions that I can take to help myself. The phlebotomist are the most pleasant but the Drs, front desk staff are not just there to collect a cheque. The most unbelievable thing is No one has mentioned anything about nutrition, which blows my mind. An alternative holistic center I spoke with shared more information in a 45mins conversation than anything they provided. Honestly I could go on and on but now Im just praying for conception to occur naturally so I never have to speak to anyone there again or go there.
Staff is friendly but as a dude the only appointment you can get for your deposit is like 7-8am. Bro I live an hour away I aint tryna beat my meat at 5am first thing in the morning. Let me get an afternoon appointment.
My experience with all staff has been extremely pleasant. I was under the care of Dr. Amrane and my nurse was Carla. Both were extremely professional while also being considerate of sensitive circumstances and trauma. The nurses and front desk employees were usually kind and sensitive as well. When I went through a loss and was going for repeated blood draws they regarded me with care. I appreciated feeling seen while also not being met with overly happy smiles.
Dr. Amrane and Nurse Sam are AMAZING! I will forever be grateful to them for helping us conceive our baby through IVF. It can be very intimidating but they made all the difference by helping us through it step by step and answering so many daily/weekly questions.
Shady Grove Towson is the best. All the women there are so kind, helpful, very informative and made every visit comfortable. Going in, I was very nervous and unsure if I was going to be successful. From the receptionist, lab staff and just over al everyone there always made me feel so at peace whenever I had appointments. My nurse Denise was so kind and answered all of my questions. I love Shady Grove and recommend them to anyone that needs help with getting pregnant!!
I wish there is zeroo starr in here !!thy all focusing on money .if you have baby or not thats not thy problem after 5 eggs thy keep telling me everyday one down i dont trust what thy did we ask how this happened or that happen ?no explanation at all we do all of that almost 7month giving blood every other day all the processing .we keep trying and thy keep telling as this and that then finally IFV not working the next stap pay the money we move the next stap ok we do move the next stap.after all no explanation at all 5 egg?? i keep asking no answer its heart braking you all doing an profashinal job ! after Several times tring IVF we move to embryo transfer then thy are calling and telling one egg down next day two thn zeroo we ask why and how no profashinal explanation very sad😏 i cant tink even one more time because of them !! if you wont try pay this and that we can you gays can try what do you mine ???? anyways its heart braking tings from me😞
SGF Towson is a wonderful place - shoutout to Dr. Amrane for being a wonderful and caring doctor who helped my husband and I conceive after four years of trying.
The SGF team made my dreams come true, words can’t capture how thoughtful and supportive they have been throughout the ups and downs. Thank you to my SGF Towson and Harbor East family ❤️
Taj and Morgan make my visits uplifting! They keep me smiling and positive about my situation. I also have issues w giving blood because I don’t have many veins, so usually people stick me multiple times but they both get me on the first! I know this seems small but it is huge for me. I only like this location because of the staff! Those two, Dr. Bernard, Karly, Ivy & Wendy make my experiences here so worth it!
Wende!! She is amazing. She is so informative and sweet.I look forward to getting her when I come in.. wish I could get her every time (:
My initial optimism, fueled by attending one of their information nights, was quickly overshadowed by the lack of empathy and professionalism I encountered during my pregnancy management.Despite embarking on the journey of pregnancy on my own, I regretfully chose to let Shady Grove handle my early prenatal care. From the start, I felt unsupported and doubted whether anyone, apart from their lab technicians, was genuinely rooting for my well-being.One incident that stands out is a conversation with a nurse when I was facing the possibility of a pregnancy loss. Instead of offering comforting words or reassurance, the nurse callously stated, Well, the good news is you got pregnant, and if you have a miscarriage, youre in the right place; we can get you pregnant again. I was taken aback by the insensitivity and lack of compassion from someone who was supposed to be a source of support during a difficult time.Furthermore, my experience with Dr. Armane during a transvaginal ultrasound was exceptionally distressing. Despite informing her of my extensive history of endometriosis and heightened sensitivity, she proceeded with a technique that caused me significant pain. I was nearly in tears during the procedure. A subsequent ultrasound at an unrelated facility a week later, where I experienced zero pain, highlighted the poor technique and lack of compassion exhibited by Dr. Armane. In summary, my experience at Shady Grove was far from the supportive and empathetic environment I had hoped for during such a significant life event. I am now back at square one and even more traumatized by the treatment I experienced here.
Just had my egg retrieval today and everyone was so wonderful and sweet! Thank you Monica and Dr. Chason and all for such excellent service 😄!!
Really great office! They were always kind and helpful. They helped me understand the plan that was created for me and gave clear instructions on next steps. Staff was friendly and it was easy to make appointments. Id recommend this office to anyone going through fertility issues. Its not a fun process but they really care and want you to be successful.
Morgan is a breath of fresh air during some of the most difficult days. Her smile and her kind words truly help.
My husband and I went to SGF to find out why we were infertile. My tests were mostly normal, but husbands werent. He was referred to their urologist who pretty much gave reccs for diet and supplements. Only reccd icsi ivf. No attempt to even figure out why his sperm quality was terrible in a fir and healthy man. It just felt lazy, TBH.We got a 2nd opinion at hopkins. They noted there was surely a lack of testing and completed all of his tests within 2 months! At Sgf, my husbands and my testing together literally took all of 7 months to get scheduled and completed. Ridiculous.Hopkins did a bunch of tests on my husband and found he needed a surgery as he had several blockages. If my husbands surgery works, this is going to 2. Annoyed.Sgf was also pretty expensive compared to other places. I wish wed have been provided the cost estimates for everything first rather than after our testing and reccs were done. 3 stars.Plan ur consult early because one thing ur gonna do is wait. Ill tell u that one.Update: 2 stars.
It’s bad enough having to deal with fertility issues in addition to coming to this office, the office manager Jessica is horrible, the other staff members are rude and nasty. One of the worst experiences of my life !
My husband had a surgery in this location a couple days ago. It was early in the morning (7AM on the Nov14th) and about a few minutes after 7 the dr. came to us with the news that there is “a small hiccup” and this solution that is supposed to hold the sample is “accidentally” thrown away by the staff so we have 3 options, proceed with the surgery without having the chance to send the sample to the lab to be analyzed, wait until noon for them to get the solution or reschedule! We run a business and that day and time was the only chance for us to get the procedure done, and as we were in a very vulnerable position we decided to proceed with the surgery as it was impossible for us to even wait until noon.It is very disappointing that this well known establishment does not have any back up for their necessary supplies of the OR, or their OR is so disorganized that such thing gets thrown away to begin with! The nurses were very nice and pleasant (specially Katie) but overall this was a very sad and stressful experience as we went through all of the pain and suffering without even knowing the analysis of the sample which was going to determine whether we were a good candidate for a follow up surgery!
After trying for 8 years we started looking into IVF and Shady Grove stood out to us because of their values and the different reviews we read. The first steps and process was rough but everyone was so kind and loving. I always feel cared for and important there from the smiling ladies at the front desk, to the wonderful nurses who draw your blood, to the careful doctors who do the transfers, to wonderful Dr. Amrane! We now have a 1 year old daughter and another child on the way! We are so thankful and so grateful.
We had a great experience at Shady Grove in Towson. Morgan and Taj always made us smile during our many visits for blood draws. Sam our nurse was calming and patient answering all our questions and putting my mind at ease. Dr. Amrane is truly a special physician who genuinely cares for her patients. We are so excited to be graduating from Shady Grove and continuing our pregnancy with OB. We will miss everyone! Thank you!!!
Top notch service! Everyone from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors were amazing! Thank you shady grove for helping me get pregnant and for the amazing experience.
My wife and I worked with SGF Towson for several years to overcome fertility issues and we were very fortunate to find success! It was long and difficult but they made it as straightforward and helpful as possible. Communication was good overall and we could always get in touch with someone when we needed help or had questions. It wasnt a perfect journey but we got the results we were seeking!
I have nothing but incredible things to say about this office. They were extremely professional, kind and attentive during my entire time there. You did not feel like another number, as you do in 99% of other medical settings, but rather that they really cared. Everyone from the doctors to nurses, secretaries, receptionists, women who draw blood, imaging techs- everyone was so lovely.
Worst run company Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Ive been a customer since 2016 and a few years ago my cc expired before they withdrew my annual fund: STRAIGHT TO A LAWYER FOR COLLECTION. Not a single letter, phone call, voice-mail, nothing. And theyve done the same thing every year since and have REFUSED to let me cancel my payment. Their finance department is run by some kind of dictator who gets a power trip being rude to customers and sicking lawyers on people who had paid timely until a cc expiration. Do not waste your time with this horrid business, unless you want to get calls from Schrier and Tolan for being a day late on your once-annual payment.
Spent years for retrievals and then failed transfers only to be told about endometriosis. Not to mention I would make appointments extra early in the morning just so I can make it to work in time but I would wait for 2 hours before being seen for ultrasound and blood work. When I finally decided to try another clinic/ doctor, getting records from SGF are almost impossible. They do not offer to link records to other organizations so other doctors basically cannot see what tests SGF performed what they did or what they found. I even signed and paid for records to be released! You would think a big organization like this will be a little more helpful (especially with acquiring records). Don’t waste your time or money!
Would be zero stars if possible. This place is constantly on you to freeze sperm. No matter how many times you say no, they keep asking. Even to go as far to say they will do and charge me on if it successful. Despite saying no constantly. There are other reviews here on how hard it is to cancel business with them. They take you to court. If you are a man, absolutely do not let them take you off TRT and put you on clomid. Its horrible for your health and unnecessary. Most doctors keep you on TRT and add HCG.You will have the office constantly be late on giving bloodwork or giving the wrong blood work completely. You will have to chase then for every part of your treatment. Im pulling my info together then suing this place.
This place has the most Disrespectful nurses and no help or direction Giving by them. As well as the nurse stating she does not need to come into the waiting room to call patients back. This place is not ment for you to feel comfortable Even know youre already here for an uncomfortable reason. They do not see to fix that or care about that
I had to have an HSG done yesterday and was fearful and unsure of having it done. The staff was so patient and kind with me- they took the time to answer all of my questions, and put my mind at ease. Emily was very knowledgeable and walked me through every part of the test so that I understood what was happening. Monica was so warm and comforting during such an uncertain time in my life. The whole team was great and I truly appreciate the kindness they showed me. Above and beyond excellent patient care.
Excellent care staff, the center is clean and I was seen in a timely manner. Simply the best!
Jasmine answered my call today to schedule an appt. Had a rude attitude and could definitely use some customer service training. Other than that the staff have been helpful and pleasant
Jordan was very kind , sweet , friendly and her customer service was excellent. Even after someone else’s mistake , she went the extra mile to correct/fix the wrong information that we were given. After one phone call we knew she’d be our “go to “ ! Thanks Jordaaaan
The Staff was very pleasant when I came in for my pelvic ultrasound which by the way was normal. I was so excited to get things done. They were very knowledgeable and kind to any questions asked. They answered all of my questions and I was very pleased with the service received. I have an appointment on Friday and I pray the service is the same. Thank you shady grove Towson staff for your service.
The staff is amazing. I had an HSG today and I was really nervous after reading comments in pregnancy forums but they helped me with my anxiety and they were excellent with their technique that it wasn’t painful. This is a great clinic and the way they treat you makes the difference. Thank you for being kind with me.
We have had an exceptional level of care at Shady Grove- Towson. Id like to give a special shout-out to our team Dr. Selma Amrane and Nurse, Valerie F. Honestly, every (or nearly every) person you work with at Shady Grove is kind, caring, and well-suited to the work that they do. In particular. Dr. A and Valerie helped us with strengths in compassion, patience, and willingness, and thoroughness in answering our questions. The facility is clean, updated, and in our experience, timely and well-organized. Thank you!
I couldn’t get the link for my appointment after swiping out of the page on my phone by accident. The website says they are open at 6:30 and I was not been able to contact anyone as of 7:15. Once I received a call back (after leaving two voicemails) at 7:20, I was able to log in and Dr. Barnard was great. If telehealth appointments are set for 7AM, someone should be reachable by phone for Assistance.
Brittany, at the front desk, is very rude and condescending. I had an issue with a member of my care team and asked for the phone number of HR. She would not give me the email or phone number for human resources. She said it isn’t a secret or a “conspiracy theory.” There are first and last names on the email addresses, and their privacy needs to be protected. I am a medical professional and speaking to patients like this is completely unacceptable. She was inferring that I was crazy and a conspiracist. I am a believer in science & not conspiracy. Who does Brittany think she is speaking to? I called her out on her unprofessional behavior. She apologized once I told her that she was going to be a part of my complaint. She completely changed her tune with me. Please provide your office staff with additional training. Instead of diffusing the situation, she exacerbated it.
Shady Grove has changed drastically over the last 3 years. I have two children from Shady Grove. Our first two experiences were wonderful. However things have changed. In the past I would have given them 5 stars. Now I give them 1. They dont return phone calls, take days to respond via the portal and take weeks to return lab results. I dont know what has changed. Are the understaffed? Do they rely too much on the portal? Things that need are necessary and need to be done prompty are not. I am fortunate that I have two children already. If this was my first experience with Shady Grove I would be extremely discouraged.
I was forewarned before any contact with shady Grove by my dr that theyre not pleasant to work with... but wow. Lol it was comically a horrible terrible experience from the jump. From the first call onward. Its definitely clear that theyre in business still due to no competition in the local market!
Horrible front desk and check out staff. No diversity at all. Very rude and nasty women working there. Do not come to this location, please avoid if you can.
I had a great experience at Shady Grove Fertility. The staff there are always so nice and helpful. Definitely felt comfortable and trusting of the nurses and doctors there. My nurse Elayne is always so helpful and answers my questions so fast and efficiently. The waiting room, bathrooms and ultrasound rooms are always clean and comfortable to be in. The receptionist are also so helpful and friendly. I had Dr Yazigi and Dr Katz who were both so nice and always made me feel comfortable. The ultrasound technicians who I saw on a daily basis at one point were also awesome! I can’t say one bad thing about SGF. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs helps starting a family.
Impossible to get a straight answer from these people. Receptionist (Monique) was extremely rude, short tempered and had a snarky attitude. this is a trying time for any patient, you would think they would make sure they have a PROFESSIONAL and compassionate staff
The other persons like doctors nurses they are friendly. But I think they changed persons in reception. She has a serious attitude problem. Really disgusting to talk to her. I got Surprised how she is there. Shady Grove should think about that
Was very unhappy with the followup from staff. We had our first consult which was a zoom meeting, we were early and setup for our morning visit but after 20 minutes we called the office to ask if anyone was joining the meeting. Dr. Beall showed up shortly after and told us we would be able to go over the options with a financial consultant, we said great to start the next steps and then were hit with a $180.00 bill for the initial free consult.
It’s crazy to see any negative reviews for this Shady Grove office. My extensive experience with them was nothing but positive. The nurses, doctors, and front desk staff are all top notch. The office is well appointed and calming. The financial advisors are very helpful. We felt well cared for here and are grateful for their help.
Unless you have the luxury of not having to work for a living, Id steer clear of this place. Their lab hours definitely do not fit the needs of the average working adult, nor are they very accommodating when you ask what other options there are. Being told Most people come into this with the understanding that they will have to miss some time from work is not acceptable. Us poor folk (aka working class) would like to have families as well. Also, good luck getting in touch with anyone. Theyre impossible to get on the phone, and theyre not very responsive via their patient portal either.Bottom line: There are better options out there. Sure, this one stop shop might seem convenient, but its not worth the headache.
Despite of all the SDF responses to 1 star reviews, I guess nothing change and it’s more an automatic answer than anything else.Since day 1 we felt like a number, with a strong sales process, forgetting we talk about giving birth. It’s so easy to adapt this to a softer process, and since it’s not the case I guess it’s an internal wish to go that way.
I tried to make an appointment one month, only to be told I needed to come in within five days of the 1st day of my period and needed to cb the next month. I did just that and immediately had my referral sent over, get to my appointment only to be told they don’t have my referral after I called in early that morning to confirm and then they claimed they scheduled me for the week after when the representative scheduled me towards the end of the wk of when I called. One person says one thing and someone else says another, no one seems to sync patient information when it comes to referrals and scheduling.Joselyn at the front desk was sweet and understanding, and helped ease my frustration when rescheduling.
I had a great experience at Shady Grove Fertility. Dr Tanrikut was the consummate professional from our initial interaction on a virtual consult. Her team took me through the whole process, including phone calls prior to the procedure to make sure I was doing what I needed to to be prepared, and know what to expect.
Please dont waste your time here. My husband and I spun our wheels and wasted money here. We also know two other couples personally who had the same experience. This is a large business who only has such high success rates because they attract a huge amount of clients. There is VERY little personal attention or concern. They will try to persuade you to go right to IVF even when there are less invasive methods that will bring you success. Its very difficult to contact the people in charge of your care when you need them and the front desk will loudly demand payment in front of other clients. Try Fertility Center of Maryland or Johns Hopkins. They are both more caring about your success! Infertility is rough enough without being taken advantage of. Just walk into their office and youll see what they do with your fees. They build fancy offices. That isnt what helps you get pregnant though.
The doctors and nurses are amazing! The desk staff, not so much. Every time I called I felt like I was given an attitude for not knowing everything. It was very discouraging.
Towson office supposed to open at 7 am on Tuesday but every time I call, I get an automatic response “you have reached us after business hours” > this makes no sense. I called at the time that you are open. So if someone that is experiencing pain and needs to be seen by your office …she can’t because you force her to spend more money at emergency room. Same goes with Harbor East and Columbia location.
I do not recommend this place. Infertility is challenging enough. I have yet to actually meet a doctor. I had a tele-consult that was no more than 15 minutes when the process started when I was told immediately I would need ivf in which the doctor hadn’t looked over any of my medical history to know I have had several surgeries from endo. He then told me to watch some videos about ivf. From then, I’ve had blood taken several times to no avail because I never get results. I leave messages and email on the patient portal. They are never fully answered. I wonder when I will ever actually get to sit down and speak with someone and have all my questions answered other than always being rushed and left to figure things out via email or on my own. Will be going elsewhere
One of the worse experiences of my life . It seems like they are all about the money rather than the patients concerns and needs . I dealt with them twice and yet to get pregnant . I explained to them on multiple occasions that my body doesnt react to medication and by the time they listen to my concerns it was too late and my ivf got cancel . I do not recommend them to anyone at all . They will waste your time, take your money and set you up for disappointment.
My husband and I met each other in 2009. We always knew we wanted a family and to start trying before we turned 30. We were both young so I thought having kids wouldnt be an issue. I never thought Id have trouble at 22 years old. Two years passed and I was still not pregnant. I also gained 50 lbs in a year out of nowhere. I knew something wasnt right and it was time to see a doctor. I got diagnosed with PCOS from my OB/GYN. We decided to seek treatment at Johns Hopkins. We tried six rounds of Clomid with timed intercourse and 1-2 cycles of Femara. All of which were not successful.Discovering Shady Grove FertilityAfter 6 months, I was still not pregnant, so I decided to look up the nearest fertility center with the highest success rates, which is how I discovered Shady Grove Fertility. I live not even 10 minutes away from the Towson, MD office so I was grateful that we were so close and they have so many convenient locations.I met with my nurse Bernie and Dr. Stephanie Beall, who immediately provided me with a game plan. We decided to try again with some basic treatments before going to IUI. We did six cycles of Clomid, then 6 cycles of Femara, but nothing seemed to work. We did 2 IUIs with Femara, still no success. It was finally time for some more aggressive treatment. Dr. Beall said lets try IVF and I was all for it. The IVF process was hard on the body and mind but if you have a positive attitude you can get through it. My first retrieval I was so nervous and scared but I knew that I had come this far and needed to go through with it. The injections werent too hard but I never thought Id have to take so many! Eventually I got used to it, and my husband even gave me my progesterone injections every night. Our first IVF cycle, I got the news that only one embryo made it to day 5 blastocyst. We transferred the embryo, but unfortunately, it didnt end up implanting. We decided to try again. Dr. Beall reviewed my last cycle and made changes to our next cycle, but we were slightly worried about ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHHS) since the treatment protocol was a little more aggressive. This time, we got the amazing news that we had 35 eggs and 30 fertilized with ICSI. Five days later we found out that we had 10 embryos that made it to day 5 blastocysts. We transferred two embryos on 02/14/2016 and decided to freeze the remaining embryos. The Two Week WaitThe two week wait was dreadful. I just kept thinking Id never get pregnant. Two days before my Beta blood test I took a home pregnancy test. I walked away from it thinking it would be a negative, however, I came back in 5 minutes later and there it was, a big fat positive! We went in for our Beta blood test and it did come back that we were pregnant. I went in for my 4 week ultrasound and saw the heartbeat and we were so incredibly happy. To our surprise, we came back a week later and Dr. Beall goes there are two sacs and two heart beats, youre having twins! We couldnt believe we were having twins. I really couldnt believe it.#Our Experience at SGFOur nurse Bernie and everyone at the Towson, MD office gave me so much hope through the entire process. Dr. Beall was so nice and understanding. She never turned me away because I was too young to do fertility treatment. She knew I was serious about this and it wasnt a joke and that I wanted a family so badly. She listened to my concerns and my husbands as well. If I needed her she was just an email away, which was amazing.I now have two fraternal boys named Roanen and Matthias. They did come early and stayed a month in the NICU but theyre healthy as can be. Theyre now 6 months and growing like weeds. We love them so much. I would tell future patients please dont ever give up. As soon as youre about to give up something amazing happens. I would tell future patients to go to Shady Grove Fertility because they gave me my miracles.
I had a uterine polyp removal surgery done at their facility today. Dr Yazigi, RN’s Danielle, Joanna and Rachel were empathetic, kind and extremely professional. Good team work! Great experience. Thanks to all.
The front desk staff shamika is the rudest receptionist, she needs a special traning on how to speak with patient, i called to cancel and reschedule my appointment, she talked to me in such a rude way, i work in health profession too, this is not the way how patient are dealed with. Very disappointed.
I started my IVF journey at SGF. It was so bad that I almost gave up on everything. After only a few visits I decided to change. I didn’t like anything about them. They treat you like you really don’t matter to them at all. They don’t show care or feeling. They don’t do a thing to make the process easier for anyone. Good luck getting through to anyone. They don’t explain things well at all. They only care about $ and it really shows. I am currently doing IVF with a clinic right over the Delaware line. There are other options out there.
Dr Amrane and all the staff at Shady Grove Towson are amazing!
After going through all of the diagnostic testing, Dr. Katz agreed to perform IVF. I had already started the birth control protocol and was two weeks out from starting the injections, which would have been Thanksgiving weekend, when Dr Katz decided he wanted to perform immediate fibroid surgery. When I question the fact that he did not see a fibroid or discuss this during our post diagnostic appointment and expressed concerns regarding the cost, his response was “Don’t you have insurance for this stuff?” When I then explained that I have a 20% co-insurance, he then changed his tune and said he thought there was nothing there and maybe there was an image error. He then inisisted on repeat the diagnostic test and then backed out of agreement to do ivf because I had prior c-sections. This was after not only did we sign consents to begin IVF, but so did he. At every visit, he was reminded that I had prior c-sections so this was not a surprise for him or any new information.I am not sure why he would have a post diagnostic appointment with me and agree to a treatment plan if he had not reviewed the medical records thoroughly. Additionally, he reviewed the record in front of me when he agreed to perform the procedure. I think it is highly unethical and unprofessional of him to agree to a treatment plan after reviewing diagnosis and beginning a patient on medication, to then change his mind about performing the agreed upon procedure. The sad part is, he was aware that I had full 80% coversge on IVF as long as it was done this year. He has made sure that goal will not be met and now I am forced to go to an out of network doctor and pay full costs out of pocket because either he was careless in reviewing my medical record or he was playing games with my medical treatment my finances.
The lack of humanity and empathy that this place has for humans is unbelievable. Save yourself the trouble.
I really appreciate what they have done for us. Dr. Beal was great. Thank you so very much!
Way overpriced for the HSG procedure, no counseling or what your next steps are, just a quick dye, panty liner and your done in minutes and sent packing; after they empty your pockets and hopes🙄
This was my first time visiting this office and every single member in the office I Spoke with was very friendly and welcoming and I could just tell everyone loved their job! I was included in everything going on and had my answers even before I had to ask my questions.
You need to sacrifice at least 2 hours in the waiting room weekdays just for ultrasound and on the weekends 4 hours! It is ridiculous. They either need to open the other locations or higher more employees. Just horrible!
Overall experience with shady grove fertility Towson has been extremely frustrating and poor.
Front deck she is not professional she is very rude I did not came back to Towson location
Would give 0 stars if possible. worst front desk staff for drop off. the most rude, unhelpful, dismissive, condescending horrible woman.

Always a good experience. Everyone is pleasant and friendly.
I recommend the Towson office!
The Visit was very informative
I find that I was well oriented at SGF Towson. A first experience of fertility treatment which was not at all easy. SGF Towson has been like my home for 2 years.Despite my advanced age, the result is fateful, which will produce good fruit in a short time. The staff at SGF are great. Especially everyone who has served us, hats off to you, Dr. Amrane ✌️ Dr. Stephanie Beall🙏 and my favorite nurse Stephanie Hernandez ♥️. Always be professional. So, everyone who has fertility problems, go for it and you will not be disappointed.
