Went today for my IUD, everyone was very welcoming and the clinician who did the procedure was quick and efficient. i felt very comfortable and it was a quick and easy appointment. i truly appreciate planned parenthood.
I got my hrt appointment here super friendly !! Making appointments for in person and telehealth are both easy.
I went here to have my Nexplanon (arm implant birth control) removed and another one put in. I cannot say enough amazing things about the amazing people that work here. From the person who checked me in to the person who actually did the implant, all 4 people were so sweet and made it such a comfortable experience. I won’t be going anywhere else. I highly recommend Stephanie for implants/removal! :)
I promise you will regret having any type of test done at this place. At the time of the visit they run my insurance and they told me I will be responsible for $25.00 at the time of the visit, the rest is cover with your insurance.3 weeks later I received a bill by mail says another $25.00 for lab work.NOW I received another mail for $40.76This is frustrating the amount of hidden or add up fees. Definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone.
States they are transparent about their pricing. Told me one price for the visit and charge me another. So much for the clear costs posters. The clinician also didnt like that I asked for references for the birth control I wanted. There are discrepancies about how long it lasts and I asked where they got the information from. They told me the FDA. Looked it up in the lobby couldnt find it. Went upstairs to be seen and asked for again. I was told that I should just believe what they say because theyre the clinical. And that they werent going to argue with me on where they got their information from. I wasnt rude, but Id assume they would say Im being rude or a Karen because I just asked for reference. If the office you go to cant provide you references to their services. Thats a red flag. I did get what I wanted out of the visit but it was uncomfortable because I just asked for information. Really annoying. I also dont like how their prices are not consistent with what they told me at first. Smdh
I used to go to a local gynecologist. Long story short, I had tons of issues with her and she wouldn’t respect my wish to not be on a birth control pill or look at other options. On top of that, she (without my consent) put me on the strongest pill with the highest dose. I had *so* many issues with it and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. She ignored me entirely and never respected my feelings or wants. So I switched to PP and I can’t say a single negative thing. These folks are such good people and so understanding and patient. They’re the ones who told me about the birth control pills and who happily switched me to an IUD. They are so good and kind. I 10000% recommend them!
When my PCP was not able to accommodate me as quickly as I needed I decided rather than head into one of the Urgent Care options in Charlottesville (which usually comes with a long wait time) I would give Planned Parenthood a try because I discovered I could book a next day appointment with them online. On top of this super convenient feature, checking in as a new patient only took about 5 minutes and I think I spent even less time in the waiting room before being called back for my appointment (granted this was a late morning appointment on a Thursday so I cannot speak to wait times for days or hours that may normally be busier than this).Everyone from the intake person, the nurse, and finally the doctor that I interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was never rushed or uncomfortable, and I felt that there was a real effort in their office to collaborate between doctor and patient which is becoming exceedingly rare to find in healthcare these days. I left feeling like they had a true desire to not only assist me with the immediate need that I had come in for that day, but were invested in helping assist me in achieving my long term health and wellness needs also.A big thanks to all at the clinic for going above and beyond!
Changed my name for privacy. I just want to say WOW. I will forever be thankful for the care I received today. All of the nurses made me feel extremely calm and that’s hard to do considering the circumstances. Thank you to whoever who works here.
I received incredible care at this facility from the front desk staff, technicians, to my doctor. The employees are kind and non-judge mental and the clinic felt clean and safe. Highly recommend!
Everyone was friendly and helpful- I never felt rushed or talked down to. They seem very conscientious of offering education to their patients and making sure you dont have any more questions, which I appreciated. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I had all the information I needed. Great experience.
Had a video call with a Dr on Thursday regarding a new birth control prescription. Everything was going fine, she said I would just need to call in with my blood pressure reading, which I could get when I went to pick up my prescription at WalMart. It’s now Saturday and I called to find out why my prescription wasn’t sent. I was told my chart says “needs to be seen.” So I need to make another appt.I’m really confused because I was already “seen”The person on the phone couldn’t tell me whether or not that means in person?! The Dr did not tell me I had to come in before I could get my prescription. Now I have to go without my birth control until I can get a new prescription (from somewhere else because I’m not dealing with them again)
I cant say enough good things about this Planned Parenthood. The staff are all very friendly, kind and openminded. Most importantly they focus on educating, not just diagnosing! They create a safe space that allows you to speak freely and ask any (and I mean ANY) questions you have. The answers I received were informative, understanding and never rushed. I left feeling empowered, confident and ready to make more informed decisions about my reproductive health.
I use this location for all my obgyn needs, from my annual checkups to my IUD. Theyve always been so professional and so kind. They always take their time with me and answer all my questions. I highly recommend them to everyone.
I’ve never felt more cared for and valued as a patient than when I’m at this Planned Parenthood. Everyone is so genuinely kind and helpful, I am so thankful for all of you and the work you do. Roevember is coming!
Unfortunately I can’t recommend this place. I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for a prescription after being told twice it was being sent in. Had to run twice for labs when it should’ve been done all at once. Nothing but a headache and now I don’t have any medication and it’s been almost 2 weeks without taking it.
Fast. Quick. Easy. My very first time getting an IUD and needless to say- I didn’t handle it very well and ended up getting sick. The amount of patience they had was incredible and would recommend this place to anyone.
Rudeness from nurse. Extremely insensitive language.Im immensely grateful for this facility and the services they offer. However, being in a vulnerable position and receiving degrading judgement comes close to outweighing the good. January 15, 2020 I go in to have an IUD inserted; for reason that I have extreme cramping with my menstrual cycle. Always causing hours of diarrhea/ nausea during the first night or two of bleeding. I was told there could be pain up to 3 month after insertion, studies show after that time pain subsides. My mistake for going to South America 5 days after insertion. I held with it, experiencing extremely debilitating cramping and diarrhea until the 10th day (Jan. 25), I decided to have it removed at a clinic in Peru. Upon returning to the states in earlier March I decided to try for prescription for the pill. Technician was extremely empathetic with me, placing no ounce of doubt on me, supporting that I did the right thing for my body by having the IUD removed.Nurse walks in and I explain yes the pain was extreme and I needed to have the IUD removed. Im thankful I tried it and gave it a chance Nurse directly responds with a face of pity yeah but no you didnt give it a chance, 5 days? thats not giving it a chance. Rude Rude Rude. Shame on you for doubting that I know my own capacity of pain. Shame on you for questioning my decision making for the sake of my own health. If you are for womens health, rights, and choice; your first step in treating them should be listening with empathy and compassion.LISTEN TO THEM - RESPECT THEM - NEVER JUDGE THEM
This Planned Parenthood office is great! They treated my 16 year old daughter with respect, kindness and humor! There was a long wait on Saturday though even though we had an appointment.
Had an appointment on a Monday. Was told Id get results by Thursday. It is now the next Monday and I still have yet to hear anything from them even after my three calls and two voicemails. They also charged me $45 more than they said they were going to but have yet to return my call on that too. Very disappointed and will not be going back.
This place is wonderful. Andrew, Josie, Chloe, and Nona are spectacular. I am so, so grateful that this critical resource is available for women. Thank y’all for all of the work you do!!!!
Went for Trans healthcare, couldn’t recommend. I struggled to get appointments many times and was told incorrect information about HRT at least once.
Ive been calling for days for assistance. No one calls you back. Theres no way to actually talk to a human. Patients are not their priority.
After being essentially abandoned by another clinic, I was able to meet with Dr. Nona and get my prescription fixed that day.
Waited for a long time for my appointment 45 mins later. I went in and did my paperwork early for a reason. Took people who checked in after I. Kind of rude staffing really never going to that office again. No verbal communication on why I waited.
This office staff is very nice and warming an awesome place to go answered all my questions in timely manner. Office is very clean and neat place. I would go back for sure.
Went for an IUD insertion and the staff was very patient kind and answered all my questions
Excited to discover a PLANNED PARENTHOOD in C-ville...they are the BEST for preventative care for men and women! & for those uninsured I recommend THE FREE CLINIC.
Although their website says they take medicaid, they do not. Nice staff at least.
This place is horrible. Inside it’s disgusting and the people who work there are like empty shells, no compassion whatsoever. Steer clear.
I love planned parenthood
Great for affordable testing without insurance
Very disappointed. Not interested in helping us, just our money.
Very supportive and aware of diversity
