Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Northwestern Womens Health Associates! Dr. Friedell and the nursing staff have been fantastic in guiding me through my medical needs, surgery, insurance matters, and more. I highly recommend Dr. Friedell and his team!
Dr. Friedell is a wonderful doctor. He has all the qualities you need in a physician; intelligence, skill, experience and as a bonus hes a super nice person. I recently had surgery and he and his team were excellent at every step. My experience from pre-op to post-op was great because they all took time to make sure I understood everything that was happening. I felt very well cared for before and after the surgery. He personally reached out to check on me! If you want a doctor who listens to you and is clinically excellent go to Dr. Friedell! Everyone in the office is also great. Ive been a nurse for 42 years and doctors like this are a dream come true.
My daughter did surgery with Dr Stanley. He is very nice and all the staff is very nice when she call. Dr Stanley saved my daughter life when she had too many problems with bleeding. This clinic is the best.
This is a topnotch womens clinic, and I consider myself very fortunate to be a long-term patient of Dr. Stanley Friedell. Whenever Ive experienced issues over the years, Dr. Friedell has provided incredibly thorough, smart, and competent care. I have complete trust in his guidance.
Dr. Belmonte at the clinic was by far the coldest provider I have ever experienced in the healthcare setting. I stopped our apt within the first 5 minutes due to her condescending tone, requesting a reschedule with an alternative provider. There was miscommunication on her end as to why I was there, her lack of empathy was clear, her “clarifying questions” were demeaning, treating me as if I was a child, and not once did she make eye contact. It’s a shame this is how she treats women in a women centered practice. I highly do not recommend her. Hopefully there are better providers in the practice.
I am deeply disappointed and heartbroken by my experience at Northwestern women’s health associates particularly under the care of Dr. Lakhanpal and Dr. Anhalt’s. Despite expressing my concerns about a possible infection, Dr. Anhalt dismissed them without proper examination or testing. As nurse practitioner myself I know that if a patient comes in with any chief complaint you work them up to diagnose or eliminate that differential. Dr Anhalt saw my picture of my mucus plug that I lost earlier that morning and simply stated it will go back. I even questioned but if I have an infection would that impact the fetus? He shook his head no. I then asked two more times in my 20 minute visit to get swabbed for BV as it can cause chorioamnionitis which can lead to fetal demise. Well he shock his head no again and refused to send a culture. I messaged the office everyday until Saturday morning when I ended up in the ER with bleeding. He again stated it’s normal and to not come into the ED as nothing will get done. I finally listened to my gut and went in to be seen but unfortunately the bleeding from the infection got worse. This negligence led to severe complications that ultimately caused me to lose my baby at 16 weeks.Throughout my appointments, I felt unheard and disregarded. Instead of addressing my symptoms seriously, Dr. Anhalt and Lakhanpal consistently downplayed them, which delayed the necessary intervention. The lack of attention and care was not only unprofessional but also devastatingly impactful on my health and the health of my unborn child. I ended up needing a d and e and went through unimaginable physical and emotional distress for over 5 weeks now. I will feel free knowing that maybe one woman is reading this right now and contemplating seeing this practice because they might be in their network or located nearby, but after reading about my heartbreak and the negligence that occurred under their watch may decide to seek care elsewhere.I trusted Dr. Lakhanpal and Dr. Anhalt despite being new to the practice, to provide competent and compassionate care during my pregnancy, but this trust was completely misplaced. The profound loss I have experienced is a direct result of the inadequate and negligent care I received.I urge anyone seeking an OBGYN to look elsewhere for someone who will genuinely listen, care, and act promptly on their patients’ concerns. No one should have to endure the pain and loss that I have faced due to Dr. Anhalt’s negligence.
It’s disappointing when one person can ruin your entire experience for you time and time again. The receptionist, Arianna, is one of the most unpleasant people on the staff. She is never friendly, rude on the phone, and has an awful attitude. I have yet to have a single, nice experience with her and this is my fourth child through this office. I would have switched offices a LONG time ago had it not been for my wonderful OB.
I was searching for a new gynecologist and found this amazing practice. I saw Dr. Morton for an issue I was having and it turned out that I needed surgery. She is understanding, thoughtful, answered all my questions without rushing and very supportive. The office and nursing staff are wonderful people, too and I always feel welcome when I walk in and treated with care and respect. She was going on maternity leave and recommended Dr. Friedell to perform my surgery. When I met Dr. Friedell for tests that had to be completed before my surgery, I immediately liked him. He was the perfect choice to take Dr. Mortons place. He explained everything to me, answered all my questions was very patient, has a sense of humor and a fantastic, skillful surgeon. On the day of my surgery, I met the team in spurts before I went in the OR and they all were very nice, knowledgeable and that helped keep me calm the whole time. My surgery was very successful and it was over in a flash. My nurse, Kat was the best she took very good care of me before I was discharged to go home. It was a very smooth process and I would highly recommend this practice and Northwestern to anyone.
I have been a patient here for nearly a year, and cannot recommend this office enough. I highly recommend Dr. Kistner and Dr. Morton for the excellent prenatal care and delivery experience they provided. They made my first pregnancy and childbirth a lot less daunting, and I’m very appreciative for the care they gave me.
Dr. Friedell is such an awesome and friendly doctor. I have been his patient since 2008. He delivered my 3 children and advocated for me through breast cancer. He’s always taken the time to understand my concerns and values connecting with his patients. I am very lucky to have him as my doctor!
I came to Dr. Friedell at the recommendation of a co worker and he is one of the most attentive doctors I know. He personally made sure I was able to schedule the appointments I needed and was quick to update with any test results. Him and his team made sure I was comfortable before and after my surgical procedure. There’s little to no delay when it comes to wait time in the office (with appointment). Overall the whole staff team is super nice and welcoming, everyone is very professional and the space is always clean and neat.
EDIT! Closing in on 20 years. He’s still the best! Dr. Friedell has taken the best care of me for nearly 10 years. No matter the health problem, the changes in insurance, he patiently and quickly finds a solution. I even moved out of state for a couple of years and came back with another baby! I tell you, I have seen the rest and came home to the best. He was my doctor before I became a mother, delivered my baby, and has taken the best care of through it all afterward. His coworkers and staff and warm and kind, and everyone has a terrific sense of humor. I couldnt go anywhere else.
I had a very pleasant experience from start to finish. Dr. Friedell was professional, knowledgeable and experienced and who I would him recommend to anyone. The hospital staff was wonderful especially the night staff. I couldn’t have asked for a more complete and comprehensive approach to my health and my life.
All the 5 stars for Dr. Aleena Lakhanpal!!She was my provider in second pregnancy and I can surely say she is very good with her patients. She always listened my issues patiently and always made sure all my doubts are cleared. Amazing bedside manners.Another praise for Dr. Morton, she delivered my first baby and I could not be more relaxed and comfortable in my delivery process. The warmth and understanding she shows with her patients is wow!!1 star was cut because of the management, they should tell the real waiting time to patients, sometimes in my appointments I had to wait for more than 30- 45 minutes just for the vital signs check, let alone another 10-15 minutes for seeing the doctor. And, there phone number always stays busy.
Review of gynecologist DR. MARC FELDSTEINIf I could give Dr. Feldstein 10 stars I would! I have had other gynecologists in the past, and they pale in comparison to Dr. Feldstein. For me it’s extremely frustrating during a doctors visit when you feel rushed, confused, uncomfortable, or leave with questions you still need clarification on. This is the polar opposite of the care you will receive with Dr. Feldstein. He is attentive - listening to every single question or concern you may have giving extremely thorough explanations that you can actually understand.During appointments I never feel rushed. Dr. Feldstein makes you feel comfortable and at ease during the visit. For me, nothing is quite as important as feeling comfortable and confident in your providers knowledge and expertise when receiving a gynecologic exam. Dr. Feldstein possess infinite knowledge, performs thorough exams, and provides unparalleled care. Not to mention he is genuinely kind and cares for his patients. It is never a hassle to get an appointment and the receptionists and nurses are all very professional. Dr. Feldstein, I can honestly say, is the best doctor I have ever encountered and I am a patient of his for life.If you’re in need of a gynecologist or want to switch gynecologists I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Feldstein. You will not be disappointed in the care you will receive!
Dr. Friedell has delivered two of my babies and both times has provided the best quality of care. His experience and expertise are invaluable and his commitment to his patients is commendable. He is the only person I trusted to get me through my last pregnancy, and I am so grateful to have had him there making the right decisions when labor didn’t go according to plan. Truly one of the best doctors around!
Dr. Friedell delivered all 3 of my kids and has been my primary doctor for the past 20 years. His office and nursing staff are excellent and the office is well managed. He’s accessible and responsive to emails when I’ve needed guidance or a referral. He’s also really professional and respectful. I always feel comfortable asking questions and trust him to provide the highest level of care and provide the information I need to make informed health decisions.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Abbie Roth’s for a very long time and trust her and her partners to provide the best care possible to me as their patient. When my symptoms and condition became a bit more complex and called for surgery, I was referred to Dr Friedell to discuss my options. I was given all the time and space I needed to consult and consider other doctors. At the end of the day I opted to come back to NW Women’s Health and to work with Dr. Friedell. I was impressed with how prepared he was when we first met, clearly having studied my history and concerns. He spent time answering my questions and never rushed me during our appointment. He told me his job was to keep me out of trouble…and that he did! He visited me personally at the hospital for post op care and called me once I was home. I really appreciate the attention and care Dr Friedell gave me. It made everything else easier. He is knowledgeable and I’d recommend him and the rest of the practice without reservation.
Dr. Dunn and Dr. Friedell are incredible!Dr. Dunn has been my primary OB and I’ve seen her for the past year throughout my first pregnancy. She has been extremely professional, kind, facilitative and honest. She provides the pros and cons to everything and makes sure you’re fully educated before making any decision which I appreciate. I will go to her for many years to come.Dr. Friedell ended up delivering our baby as he was on-call at the time of delivery. His tenure and experience shows when he’s engaging with you and guiding you through the process. He made the delivery of our baby girl engaging and enjoyable which I didn’t think was possible.I highly recommend this practice.
In 1996, I went to see Dr. Stanley Friedell because I was told by local doctors that I would not be able to carry a child. Because of Dr. Friedell’s close monitoring during my pregnancies, I have two beautiful children. Recently, I had to undergo a hysterectomy, which I was terrified about. Dr. Friedell was very understanding and spent time with my husband and I to answer all of our questions. We were not sure at the time if it could be done robotically, which meant a large scar and longer healing time. Dr. Friedell assured us that he would do everything he could robotically before he would make a large manual incision. I am two weeks post surgery, feeling great with only five tiny scars. I was able to stop taking pain meds three days after the surgery, which indicates to me that Dr. Friedell went above and beyond to minimize any complications. I’ve trusted him for over twenty-six years, and I’m happy I made that choice!
I was very pleased with my experience with Dr. Friedell. Dr. Friedell performed my recent surgery and everything went quite well. He is a good communicator and I felt very comfortable with him as my doctor. He also went out of his way to make sure the surgery could be done as quickly as possible and that the best medical care would be provided.
I cant recommend this practice and especially Dr. Friedell more. Before having my babies, I was a patient for yearly check ups. Everyone is always so thorough and approachable. I got to know the practice well through three pregnancies one of which ended in a miscarriage. The level of compassion and understanding as well as expert care cant be matched. I have never had a doctor personally call me late at night with test results to make sure I could rest easy. Dr. Friedell truly cares about his patients and as a physician he is confident and knowledgeable. There may be times your appointment runs late but keep in mind that its for good reason... whether that is with a patient for an unexpected reason or delivering a baby! I recommend this practice to all my friends and family without any doubt!
I really can’t speak more highly of my experience with Dr. Friedell and this practice. He has been my doctor for the past 8 years. I had two smooth pregnancies and felt I was in the most capable hands. I felt comfortable, informed, and as ready as I could be at each labor and delivery. Before having my son, I also suffered a miscarriage, and Dr. Friedell was calm, compassionate, and made himself available to answer any questions I had. Dr. Brunengraber delivered my son—she was phenomenal. Dr. Lakhanpal was on call for my daughter’s birth. I had a minor complication with delivery but she took great care of me and I recovered without issue.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Friedell. He is professional, personable, and you can tell he really cares about his patients. When I first saw him (a year and a half ago now) I was absolutely terrified as I had had some unpleasant experiences at other doctors, but he was so pleasant and really made me feel comfortable. He really listens to every concern and does his best to find out whats wrong. After my first visit I ended up having to have surgery, and he made sure I knew exactly what the risks were, and made sure to inform me of the exact procedures he would take, all while still keeping me calm and comfortable. After the surgery, he called me personally to make sure I was recovering alright. He continues to be one of my favorite doctors that I see, and I very highly recommend him if youre looking for someone.
Absolutely superior patient care!I have had the pleasure of being in Dr. Friedell’s care for several years. I recently needed to have surgery and was so grateful to have him as my physician and surgeon. He is affable. kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly goes above and beyond to provide his patients with the utmost level of care. He called me multiple times after hours to provide test results and answer questions about my procedure. Thank you Dr. Friedell and team – you are best-in-class and made my surgery and recovery as easy as possible!
My experience with Northwestern Women Health & Associations and Dr. Stanley Friedell has been outright fantastic. Im always really impressed with Dr. Stanley Friedell attentiveness, as if you were his only patient. Ive never felt rushed or forgotten. He take time with me and addresses all my questions and concern. His prompt decision making and plan of care, literally saved my daughters life. A few years later when I decided to have a partial hysterectomy, Dr. Stanley Friedell guided me through with compassion. The front desk staff is super friendly and very helpful. The lab and ultrasound technician are precise and gentle. I can honestly say, any woman, at any stage of her life, would be in good hands at Northwestern Women Health & Associations. Thank you from the bottomof my heart, Nicole.
I have been seeing Dr. Friedell for years and even though Ive moved out of the city, I cant imagine switching providers. He is extremely competent, thorough and takes time to answer all your questions and concerns. I recently had a surgical procedure with him and am very happy with the level of care before, during and after. Its so nice to have a doctor I can trust to make decisions and recommendations that are in my best interest - whether its childbirth, routine care or surgery.
I came to see Dr. Friedell for a second opinion and now he is my doctor permanently. His thoroughness, attention to detail, and genuine concern for his patients is top notch. The day I came in, the office was packed, but he still took the time to thoroughly exam me and address my issue. Two weeks later he performed surgery impeccably and I am now on my way to a full recovery. I have never met a doctor who has more genuine concern for his patients as this man. And his staff is just as amazing as he is. I’m very grateful.
Dr. Friedell is EXCELLENT! I searched for THE BEST OB/GYN in Chicago and suburbs for sometime now and after reading his reviews and credentials, I decided to make an appointment to see him as a new patient. He EXCEEDED my expectations and I am very grateful that he took the time to review my records, consult with me on my health concerns and provide his honest, candid and thoughtful opinions and directions on moving forward. My situation was a bit more complex and I had concerns/unanswered questions and some uncertainty after consulting with another Dr. and having multiple procedures. I was encouraged to get a second opinion as to the best treatment for my health issues moving forward. I am so glad that I did! Dr Friedell is the BEST and any woman reading this that is wondering who to see for an OB/GYN, book your appointment with him!!Also, big shout out the the kind and helpful ladies at the front desk, the kind nurse, the lovely ladies in the lab and the awesome ultra sound tech! They were so kind, helpful and happy! This is a testament to a great office and working environment when every interaction with the staff is pleasant and joyful. Thank you Dr. Friedell for taking the time to meet with me, I’ll be seeing you soon! 😊
Dr. Stanley Friedell is an excellent doctor Hes confident, smart, and diligent, he cares tremendously about his patients and their well-being. He always calls back and follow up no matter how busy he is.Dr Friedell recommended I get a diagnostic mammogram that saved my life. The office staff are friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable, the location is a walking distant from the train line.I highly recommend Dr Stanley, the staff, and the clinic for new patients.Show more
Ive been a patient of Dr. Friedell for 17 years now. Ive always appreciated his bedside manner. He is very thorough, patient, and listens to all of my questions or concerns. He delivered both of my children (16 & 12) and I would highly recommend him. Additionally, I appreciate the staff at Northwestern Womens Health Associates. They are all nice and helpful as well.
I have been a patient of Dr Stanley Friedell after being referred by my sister who is also a patient of him.I had some issues from a few years back of severe pain during my period. I had hormonal therapy to manage the pain. After seeing Dr Friedell, we agreed that a surgery was needed because my conditions has gotten worse over the years.I was terrified because it was my first time getting a surgery. But he made sure everything was clear before the surgery showed that he really care about my wellbeing, both the women clinic staff and the nurses in the hospital were all very nice.My surgery experience a few weeks ago went really smooth, Dr Friedell and the Northwestern nurses made sure that I was not in a lot of pain and always feel comfortable throughout my hospital stay. Doctor and staff also made sure to follow up post op to make sure the recovery was going well.I would absolutely recommend Dr Friedell to anyone who needs an obgyn because he is an expert and he truly cares about his patients, youll be in great hands!
I had a surprise medical issue two days before I went on vacation. Dr. Fridell was able to fit me in the next day and gave me the fastest, high quality care. He worked around the clock to ensure I was able to go on my trip, which I was able to. Once I returned, we had all my appointments scheduled so I could receive the best follow up care. If you’re ever in a pinch or looking for a doctor who truly cares about your health/life events, go to Dr. Fridell and his team at Northwestern.
You can’t go wrong choosing this practice for your healthcare. I’ve been a patient of Dr Friedell’s for almost 8 years. He is an incredible physician (my favorite, in fact!), and has seen me through a myriad of gynecologic and obstetric issues. He’s very thorough and a complete professional, an expert in his field. I’ve never once felt rushed through my appointments with him, and he’s always made it a point to answer all my questions. Dr F’s even responded to my queries about test results by calling me late in the evening to discuss them rather than have me wait and worry till morning.I don’t know any other physician as dedicated as Dr Friedell is. Sometimes you can have a long wait in the waiting room, but that’s because he’s busy taking care of another patient. For example, he rushed over to Prentice to deliver my son when I needed an emergency c-section. By doing so, some of his other patients probably ended up with their office appointments getting delayed. But I was so grateful that he personally delivered my son. It was immensely comforting to know that I was in the best hands possible. And that’s why I will always be understanding if he’s running late for any of my office appointments.I’ve met the other physicians in Northwestern Women’s Health Associates during rotation, and they are all wonderful. So too the nurses, physicians assistant, medical assistants, ultrasound tech, and the office staff. It’s a very good team here, all of them efficient and kind.Do yourself a favor and just head over to this practice for your medical care. You will not regret it.
Dr Friedell is an amazing OBGYN. I highly recommend him to any women! Especially, those that struggle with endometriosis as I do. He takes the time to sit down and talk with you at each appointment. I never feel rushed or unimportant. You can tell he cares deeply about his patients. After an ultrasound he called me within 10 minutes to discuss. No waiting and anxiety! It’s so nice to have a doctor that is there for you! Can’t recommend enough!
I recently started seeing Dr. Fridell. He is extremely attentive and very knowledgeable. Ive been to other OBGYNs in the past but he is by far the best. He is quick to respond and works around his schedule to get you in. I am excited to have found an AMAZING OBGYN and will continue to recommend him to family and friends.
Dr. Friedell is hands down the best doctor I have ever had. He delivered our first child, and we had a great experience. From prenatal care through delivery, he answered all of our questions patiently, made us feel safe and taken care of and made the whole process seamless. He is also an easy person to talk to and really takes the time to get to know you and understand what is important to you during the process. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for an OB!
Having your first child is both exciting and scary. My husband and I had so many concerns, questions, and completely oblivious to the whole process of pregnancy and childbirth. Dr. Julianne Morton was absolutely incredible and is what made this entire experience from first meeting through delivery something so special. Every appointment during the pregnancy she and her team were thorough and genuinely cared about our family and newborn. She was always available with every little question or concern no matter how minor. The experience of labor and delivery could not have gone better and exceeded my expectations. The nurses and entire team at Prentice was so accommodating and professional I had complete trust in everyone. Dr. Morton was there from when I got admitted and came when I was ready to delivery my baby. She was so calm and guided me through everything that it made the process almost easy. She truly knew what she was doing the entire time and my delivery went so smooth. I really believe this is one of the main reasons why my postpartum recovery was so fast! Thank you Dr. Morton for making this entire experience so memorable and smooth!!
I had what’s usually a preventable stillbirth while under their care. I believe that they missed my child was under stress on a Tuesday and by Thursday he passed away at 36 weeks. If you have even mild medical issues or think you may, I recommend you go to a large health system. For example, at this clinic they read blood pressure manually using medical assistants with what I think were questionable skillsets, leaving it to luck that the reading is accurate. These types of checks are critical as that’s what often triggers follow ups. Their equipment is generally not up to par, for example one of their two NST machines is old and always a struggle for their staff to use with me. Finally, it was my experience that this clinic did not explain and educate. My doctor was Sharon Wise. I do not recommend her, she’s dismissive, doesn’t explain things, it appeared she was not well prepared for my appointments and in my opinion, lacked common sense working knowledge of medical conditions based on questions I asked and her answers.
Dr.Friedell is a caring, attentive and knowledgeable doctor. Ive been a patient of his for over 10 years; through two pregnancies and a recent hysterectomy. He always takes the time to explain all my options to me and listen to my concerns. My surgery was smooth, and I feel well taken care of by Dr.Friedell and his staff.
Dr. Freidell was my OB for both of my pregnancies and I still see him now. He has been in the field for a long time and is extremely knowledgeable. He has a great bedside manner and is very kind. I highly recommend him and this practice.
Dr. Morton is absolutely amazing. She cared for me throughout my first pregnancy and we found her to be kind and caring and straightforward — could not have asked for a better experience! Dr. Dunn ended up being on call during my delivery and she was great as well. I have always found the nurses and office staff to be friendly and on top of things - very happy with the practice!
Dr. Feldstein is always very kind and accommodating. He also allows plenty of time to discuss any concerns- Ive never felt rushed. Highly recommend!!
Dr. Friedell and the team saw me through two pregnancies, both of which were wonderful experiences. He and the team were always reliable and thorough in answering my questions, and my prenatal visits were so well organized, which brought me tremendous peace of mind. Though Dr. Friedell was my primary, other doctors on the team (Dr. Wise and Dr. Brunengraber) delivered our babies, and we couldnt have been happier with their quality of care on game day, too. Highly recommend Northwestern Womens Health Associates!
We have been seeing Dr Sharon Wise since the beginning and we have very much enjoyed having her as our Ob. We will soon start seeing the other doctors since Im now going on 24 weeks. The office staff could be better, theyre sometimes polite but I would never call them friendly. The same nurse has seen me several times and during the first few visits kept asking me if I was pregnant and when was my last cycle. I finally got upset and asked whether or not she bothered to look at my records. To which he did not respond and in all fairness I was certainly unpleasant when I made the comment. But Dr Wise has been very good. She is never rushed when she is with us which we greatly appreciate since we all know how doctors run behind. She even saw us as her last appointment one day but she took her time anyway. She explains things clearly and has always been helpfulIn answering questions. She recommended a great genetic doctor for Down syndrome testing and Dr Pergament was excellent as well. We have had a great experience thus far, and would recommend the doctors.
I have been a patient of Dr. Stanley Friedell, for the past 30 years. For many years he has monitored me for ovarian cysts. Due to his careful monitoring, most recently he was able to see there was a change, at which point he was recommending surgery to remove my ovaries.Dr. Friedell is compassionate, warm, and caring, and even though a specialist, hes just so down to earth and openly communicates with me to put me at ease. He takes time to answer all of my questions and never neglected to call in the evenings with test results.Due to his wonderful surgical skills, I was able to avoid a full incision and instead benefited from a laparoscopic same day surgery. In addition, he made sure I was listened to by the anesthesiologist who addressed all of my concerns with the general anesthesia after the surgery. The care at Prentice was outstanding.I would highly recommend Dr. Friedell and his practice; he takes the time to get to know every one of his patients and establish a wonderful relationship with them.Thank you Dr. Friedell and your team for bringing me through my surgery with a most positive experience.Maria
I am writing this review for Dr. Stanley Friedell. He has been my ob and helped me through a tough pregnancy. I drove 44 miles to my appointments to ensure that he would be my doctor and I could deliver at Northwestern. I’m glad I stuck with it because at the end it was a very difficult time and he got me through it and my baby through it when things were not looking good. His standard of care, kindness and calm demeanor helped me to pull through and I will never forget the amazing care I received..
I’ve been seeing Dr Friedell for over 3 years now and suggest him, and this practice, to everyone - even more so now, after our little man was brought into this world via emergency c section. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait - but it’s because the doctors are busy with patients in the clinic or at the hospital... and trust me, once you have been one of those patients at the hospital they are attending to, you won’t mind having to wait a bit longer for your routine yearly appointment. One thing I greatly appreciate is the attentiveness these professionals give to their patients. Whenever I have questions, Dr Friedell or his nurse practitioners (who are also awesome) always call back in a timely manner and I never feel like they are trying to rush me. I fully plan on having Dr Friedell be my OB for any future pregnancies, and know I will always be taken care of by the team at NW Women’s Health Associates.
Dr. Friedell has been wonderful to work with for both of my pregnancies. He’s very knowledgeable and always had answers to my questions. He always took the time to make sure I knew what was going on and explained anything I needed to know more about, and we had fun along the way. I highly recommend him!
I have been going to Dr. Friedell for over a year now and he has been nothing less than amazing. When I first came to him to discuss pregnancy, he was incredibly informative and understanding. He was also willing to take the time to answer all of my questions and help in any way he could. He just delivered my son in March and to say he went the extra mile during delivery would be an understatement. I had some complications and with any other doctor I would have had a c-section. Dr. Friedell worked with me and was extremely patient and because of his care and expertise I had a successful vaginal delivery. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
I have a had a wonderful experience with Dr. Friedell and all of the doctors during my two pregnancies. They were all very helpful and kind. Some of my appointments were virtual. They made the virtual experience easy. I still felt like I was getting all of the information needed. Dr. Friedell takes his time to make sure he has answered all questions. I definitely recommend Northwestern Women’s Health Associates!
I found Dr. Friedell after looking and looking for a new OB doctor after a bad experience at another hospital. From the first appointment I was glad I made the switch. He is very knowledgeable and very respectful. All of his staff is also very careing. I came in feeling like my age (37) was going to be a big issue and he reassured me from the beginning I would be fine. This was my 5th delivery and all of my other ones were long painful processes. I came in with many anxieties and he really helped me find comfort and calm and in the end this delivery went so smoothly and very stress free (only pusehed for 20 mins)! I loved that it was only my husband & I the dr and the nurse, not a whole room full of people. This experience at Northwestern with Dr. Friedell has been amazing. You wont regret choosing him as your Doctor!
I can’t say enough great things about this office! Yes, sometimes you may have to wait if Dr Friedell is running behind but it’s worth the wait. He covers everything thoroughly and makes sure that you continue to stay healthy. I would never go anywhere else for my health and well-being because I know I’m getting top knotch care from one of the best in Chicago. He is very knowledgeable, straight to the point and very truthful with options. He is also very friendly and I’m never afraid to ask questions! I can’t thank him enough for being pain free and staying pain free!
I am extremely pleased with Dr. Friedell and have been since day one. He is professional, he listens, and he is thorough with the care of his patients. I’ve referred him to multiple friends because it is rare to find a doctor with an “old school” approach to medicine - treating patients as people & not a business. There have been times where a regular appointment uncovers a problem & Dr. Friedell will manage it right then and there instead of having me reschedule for a second appointment. I like that he does ultrasounds himself and he takes the necessary time needed to get the imagining. On more than one occasion, Dr. Friedell has called me at home to check-in as a follow-up after an appointment. There was a time i had a minor medical issue while he was on vacation, to my surprise, he phoned me from his vacation (on a Saturday morning) just to make sure I was ok.
Ive seen Dr Friedell the last four years and he just delivered my firstborn seven weeks ago. I cannot say enough about the degree of care we received from him while in the hospital. He called the L&D nurse at midnight to check in on my progress, then called to speak to me directly. He made rounds no later than 7am and was right there to support us when our little guy needed some help coming into the world. While its easy to feel frustrated that an office visit might be behind schedule on occasion, when you experience the incredible care of Dr Friedell and his team during delivery, you will never again question whether it was worth it to wait. Cant recommend him or his staff enough.
Dr. Friedell was my OB for both of my pregnancies and delivered both of my children. As someone who works in healthcare, I can tell you that he is a fantastic doctor. He really cares about his patients and takes the time with you that you need at your appointments. He’ll even call you afterhours to answer your questions - no matter how small or unimportant you may think your questions are. My first pregnancy and delivery were a breeze. However, my second pregnancy and delivery were more difficult. When I had a complication in second trimester the doctors at the practice were quick to see me and to provide reassurance. I always left the office feeling like I fully understood what was going on and what our next steps were going to be. I was so glad to have someone with Dr. Friedell’s knowledge and experience in the delivery room managing that second birth - my baby boy was delivered safely and is a healthy, rambunctious toddler today. Lastly, the other OBs I saw at the practice were wonderful. The NP, Sarah, is kind, knowledgeable, and a great listener. LeAnne (the ultrasound tech) is friendly and has a ton of experience, which is everything you want in a good tech! This is a great practice and you will be well cared for here.
Dr. Friedell is not only thorough, but treats you with respect and hears all of your concerns. I started seeing Dr. Friedell when I was already 8 weeks pregnant. He sat down with me and discussed how he and his practice works with pregnancy and got to know me. On top of that he did an examine and ultrasound. He spent over an hour with me and it was then I knew I found a great doctor to see my pregnancy and delivery. He and his staff were helpful throughout the entire pregnancy as well as the day I gave birth. Dr. Friedell was very open to my birth plan and trying something different like Hypnobabies. He said whatever I believe will help me have a successful birthing experience, he was on board. He was there and ready to go when I was in labor and stayed in my room until I gave birth to my little girl. I highly recommend Dr. Friedell to anyone looking for a doctor who truly cares and listens to his patients concerns and wants.
This practice is absolutely spectacular! I am a patient of Dr. Friedell and he is a thorough, cautious, and responsive physician. The staff at this practice are always the utmost professional and when I have needed to consult with a doctor during after hour times, they have also provided the best medical support. I can’t speak highly enough of the care and support provided through this practice. I highly recommend Dr. Friedell or anyone of his team members.
I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Northwestern Women’s Health Associates. My experience with prenatal care and delivery of my second child was an amazing experience, even in the middle of a pandemic. The entire team is top notch. The receptionists, the medical assistants, the lab technicians, the NP’s and doctors are ALL experienced, professional, and caring. I would have been comfortable with any of the doctors in this practice delivering our baby but we REALLY wanted my doctor, Dr. Friedell, to deliver our daughter. He wasn’t on call the day that she came but he went above and beyond to be there to deliver her! He is our angel! I cannot thank Dr. Friedell enough for all that he has done for me. From spending two hours reviewing my medical records from a previous delivery (there were some issues during that delivery), to always making me feel calm, listened to, and cared for. I would never go to anyone else to have a baby. Thank you!!!
Dr. Regina Belmonte has been providing all the services I have needed for over 12 years. She saw me through both of my pregnancies and her expertise is vast. Even after I moved far away from the city, I still embrace and look forward to her care and services, and I refuse to switch doctors. She is worth the trip! Going through both pregnancies I had to meet with all of the Drs. and all were wonderful. The nurses are fantastic. I have gotten 98% of what I have ever needed just talking to a nurse. So grateful for this practice and so confident with the care I receive..
Dr. Friedell and his staff are seriously the best around. Very professional, excellent communication skills, awesome bedside manner, and really so much more. Dr. Friedell has delivered all three of my babies and I would not have had it any other way. I have referred my mother and sister to his practice and they are equally as happy as I am. I will continue to see Dr. Friedell for as long as it is possible and will continue to refer friends and family to come here.
Dr. Stanley Friedell has been absolutely amazing at every single appointment. So compassionate and knowledgeable. His staff and nurses always go above and beyond to accommodate all my needs. You will always receive a superior quality service with a great level of compassion and professionalism. I can’t thank them enough!
This practice is amazing! I have been a patient there for 13 years and trust my life and health with Dr. Friedell. He delivered both of my children and performed a recent surgery. He is very thorough and is great with follow up and next steps. He is the only provider I still see after moving to the suburbs and commute to see him! Will continue to do so! Highly recommend!
Dr. Friedell is an amazing physician. He delivered my daughter and both she and I were safe and healthy. I appreciate his care and his bedside manner always allowing me to ask as many questions. I highly recommend the practice.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Friedell’s for about three years, and highly recommend him. I had a great first pregnancy under his care – he answered all of my questions with as much detail as I wanted. Dr. Friedell made the delivery of our son one of the best experiences of my life: I felt so comfortable and confident throughout the process. More recently, Dr. Friedell treated me through a disappointing miscarriage. I was both impressed and touched that Dr Friedell called me over the weekend to share test results that were more emotionally than medically significant.Throughout dozens of interactions with Dr. Friedell, I’ve received excellent medical advice and treatment. But, Dr Friedell has also delivered his treatment with care and a personal touch. That has been a real differentiator for me and why I’ve been especially pleased with him as my doctor.
This was our first child, so every little thing was new to us, with a lot happening. Questions flooded in and I called the practice on many of them - is this normal?! I feel funny. I think hes stopped kicking? What does this mean? They were ALWAYS there for me and I couldnt have felt more at ease and comfortable with the doctors and nurses. It was such a sigh of relief to be in such incredible hands. I had some health issues to go along with my pregnancy and those were handled with the utmost care. Honestly, I couldnt recommend this practice enough! Even during the delivery...Dr. Friedell helped us feel laid back and actually made the process easier/enjoyable! He took such great caution with the delivery and we ended up with such a healthy baby! The humor from him made everything that much better, on top of the care!! 5+ stars for the Northwestern Womens Health Associates! Thank You!!!
Dr. Friedell is incredible not only has he taken great care of my health, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. He cares about his patients as a person, outstanding quality of care. I highly recommend becoming his patient!
Dr Stanley Friedell has been my Ob-Gyn for over 20 years. He was my quarterback during my breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. He pointed me to my surgeon and my oncologist. They were excellent referrals. Recently, I had to have a robot assisted hysterectomy. I came home with no pain. Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Friedell and his team!
Dr. Stanley Friedell is one of the most professional and knowledgeable Doctors I have ever been to. He takes his time with his patients and listens to all of their concerns and answers all questions in a manner a patient can understand. If I was not moving out of state, I would definitely continue to be treated by him. I highly recommend this practice.
Dr. Fidel is very professional and has meticulous attention skills is an amazing diagnoser he helped me when no one else could figured things out that no one else could he was put on this earth to help people he’s one of a kind. I highly recommend his office everyone is very professional and kind they act like they want to help you which is very important in a doctors office but at the same time everyone has a job to do and they do their job whatever you need whether it’s paperwork x-rays results they help you. The emergency service is excellent Dr. always gets back to you as soon as possible .
Im beyond happy that of all the doctors I researched I chose Dr. Friedell. After seeing same ob/gyne for over 30 years it was time to choose a doctor associated with NW, where all of my other doctors reside. It was a difficult first appointment because I was told a uterine biopsy was necessary. I had a horrific experience with a biopsy a few years ago and the thought of going through that again was very upsetting. Dr. Friedell stressed the urgency of having the procedure done and could see it was unlikely I would agree to a biopsy done at the office. He immediately had his staff work on scheduling a day surgery appointment. So the day after I met Dr. Friedell for the first time I had an appointment the very next day for an ultrasound and 3 days later my biopsy was done at NW. After being on HRT for 20 years I am thrilled and grateful to be in the good hands/good care of Dr. Friedell who is helping me transition off HRT. The office staff is outstanding, as well. On day of first appointment I received call letting me know he had a patient in labor and there was a chance I might have a wait upon arrival. Thats something no other medical office had every done. That was the first indication I had made the right choice to be a new patient of Dr. Friedell.
I recently returned to this practice, and Dr. Friedell, after deciding to go to the Northwestern Midwives Group when I found out I was pregnant in the summer. I saw Dr. Friedell when I was pregnant with my now 3 year old son, and while my pregnancy was mostly uneventful the delivery was tough. Dr. Friedell wasn’t on duty that day and it ended in a c-section. The whole experience left me somewhat traumatized, and I thought I needed to try a different, more holistic approach. Unfortunately, this summer at 11 weeks pregnant I started to bleed. The Midwives did an ultrasound and told me all was fine. I resumed my normal activities — work, working out, etc. A few days later I started bleeding heavily…and it ultimately ended in a heartbreaking miscarriage. Throughout the process of losing the baby, I saw a different midwife every single appointment…and had to go back to get a D&C after I was originally told I didn’t need one. I received contradicting information. And, ultimately, they missed catching a sub-chorionic hemorrhage (not normal but very common and rarely fatal) in my first ultrasound. I highly regret the decision to leave Dr. Friedell. I recently returned to him, with my tail between my legs, and he couldn’t have been more kind or understanding. He reviewed through every single detail of my pregnancy and miscarriage, and quickly identified a plan to help my husband and I conceive again. While the midwives were sweet and rubbed my back, I believe they truly lack the experience needed to serve as a primary care physician. Dr. Friedell is very committed to his patients — he will call you after hours, rearrange his schedule so he can squeeze you in, and always responds quickly to messages on the patient portal. Above all, he’s a good doctor with a lot of experience…I’ve learned the hard way that nothing is more important than that.
I love everything about Northwestern Womens Health associates but I love my doctor, Dr. Morton the most. She is EXTREMELY patient, a GREAT listener, very attentive and has a calming presence that is definitely appreciated. During my time with her (8 months), I jokingly said that I was her most annoying patient. I worried about every single thing and asked her 1 million questions. She answered all of my questions and constantly reassured me that everything would be okay.No exaggeration, she was the best doctor I have had...ever!Dr. Dunn was also cool.
Wonderful experience with Dr. Julianne Morton @ NW Womens Associates. Ive recommended her to countless girlfriends. Being a first time mom, I went through many physical symptoms and emotions that accompany pregnancy. She is extremely thorough, patient, and has wonderful bedside manner. I felt confident going into delivery with Dr. Morton taking the lead with my delivery. Wonderful practice!
Dr. Friedell is one of the best doctors I have ever met. I was suffering with a lot of issues related to enlarged uterus, fibroids and other related issues and was referred to Dr. Friedell for Robotic Hysterectomy. He gave me a very quick consultation appointment and when we met, he had already reviewed my medical history and did a thorough examination and gave me details about the procedure and all the information associated with it.I was willing to get the surgery done soon and he made it work for me. He scheduled the surgery the very next time the operating room was available within the next month and made the whole procedure very easy for me.He met with me a couple of times pre-op and made sure I get all the necessary information. He also explained the procedure to me right before the surgery, which took over 5 hours. He visited me right after I regained consciousness to make sure I am feeling well. I am very happy and pleased that he did the minimally invasive surgery possible for me with very quick recovery. I feel completely normal and very well after three months of the surgery. Dr. Friedell’s team made sure I am coming for my post-op visits and were very considerate.I am very grateful for Dr. Friedell’s attention to details, his care and involvement with my health.
Dr. Morton is amazing. I have been seeing her for a number of years and feel she is the only GYN that actually listens to my concerns. She makes me feel comfortable during every appointment. Ive never had an issue with any of the nurses - they have always been knowledgeable and helpful when I call to ask a general question.
Private practice? I’m surprised they don’t help women who’ve delivered at Northwestern. I was told they are not affiliated with the hospital. That is news to me. They don’t accept “county care” or public insurance. 🥱Hippocratic oath my a**❗️Do no harm? Well can’t be doing any good to claim to have the best care takers but won’t help unless you have an expensive insurance. I suppose this is Capitalism at best. ❗️
My wife and I did had multiple (3) bad appointments with this group. Their are long waiting times, confusion in the office, and poor customer service. The communication between the doctors, staff, and front desk is not clear. You have to constantly remind them who you are and why you are there. One of our visits to the office they turned us away by mistake. When they realized the error, they called us to come back office. No one apologized for mistake and wasting our time. Our last visit was for ultrasound and exam was not good experience either. We waited over 30 minutes in waiting room and had to remind the front desk several times that we were still there. When ultrasound technician finally came for us, we brought long wait (over 30 min)to her attention. The technician totally dismissed it, didnt apologize, and gave us attitude. We stated that we expected better patient care from Northwestern and ultrasound tech replied to us, Well, we arent even Northwestern and you have to get use to this treatment. After 5min ultrasound we were put back in waiting room. After 15 minutes in waiting room we decided we were cancelling the rest or our appointment. We had been there for over 1 hour for 5 min ultrasound. When we told front desk we were cancelling and thinking about changing doctors. Front desk receptionist stated, Ok, thats fine, well cancel the rest of your appointment. Very dismissive, rude, and non apologetic. We are getting a new doctor and office. I hope this is just my experience with this group and not the norm. I would cation anyone going to this office to make sure your are treated with dignity and respect.
This review was long overdue. This was my first delivery and Dr. Stanley Friedell took great care of me. Right through the 1st month till the day of delivery I was made to feel comfortable by Dr. Friedell. We were always confident about the delivery knowing that we were in good hands. Dr. Friedell was very calm throughout and explain us on the status very nicely and patiently. Even during the day of the delivery he made sure he was available and he did the delivery. Throughout the delivery he was extremely patient and made sure that I dont got too much tensed. We are very happy with the decision that we made of going to Northwestern Womens Health Associates and choosing Dr. Friedell. Last but not the least, the staff was also very caring and professional. We would definitely recommend Dr. Friedell to any of our friends in future without any second thoughts.
I have been going to Dr. Friedell for over ten years. Other than being a great gyno, He has gone above and beyond with all three of my Pregnancy experiences and deliveries. With my first labor he was not the doctor on call but still came to the hospital, slept there, and delivered her early in the AM. With baby two he was again not on call, but despite that came to the hospital to deliver yet again. With my third pregnancy he was luckily on call and delivered our son in one push. Friedell is the best, and has made me feel supported, confident, and at ease with any and all challenges that can come with pregnancy and delivery.
When choosing my OB/GYN, my biggest priority was to have a physician with extensive experience who would promptly and confidently know how to handle any complications that arose during my pregnancy or labor -- and Dr. Friedell did just that. Whenever I experienced symptoms that seemed odd to me during the pregnancy, Dr. Friedell responded promptly and was sure to order any cautionary tests as needed. Once, when scheduling a precautionary ultrasound was difficult due to the technicians already full schedule, Dr. Friedell took it upon himself to get me in earlier, without me even needing to ask. Also, at my 40 week appointment, he took the extra measure of conducting fetal monitoring since I was just past my due date. If he didnt have the knowledge and willingness to conduct that extra monitoring, Im not sure my baby would be alive today. He caught some abnormalities in the babys heartbeat that werent there before and, long story short, I really believe that he saved my babys life. Even though he was not scheduled to be on call that evening, he stayed overnight at the hospital to monitor my contractions and the babys heart, staying at the hospital until he delivered my baby. Im so grateful to Dr. Friedell for making sure that my baby was delivered safely -- I trusted him every step of the way.
Dr. Friedell is a lifesaver. I was experiencing long, heavy and unpredictable menstrual cycles for the past few years. This caused me to be very anemic and weak many times. In March of 2016, I had to go to the hospital for an immediate blood transfusion. My primary care physician advised me that I could have had a heart attack due to my extremely low levels that day. The diagnosis at the time was uterine-fibroids.The doctor I had prior to finding Dr. Friedell...tried a few procedures that failed to give any relief. The doctor was concerned my weight would make it difficult to do a hysterectomy using laparoscopy, but said he would try. That particular doctor was in no hurry and did not get back to me with a surgery date. Another year went by.Finding Dr. Friedell online...I researched three doctors and wanted to meet with a few for a consultation about my condition and options. In my first visit, Dr. Friedell took me seriously. He sat me down in his office to go over my history and was very personable. I could tell he was a family man and a doctor passionate about his career and family. He has several awards and family pictures in his office. He always smiled when he saw me, and by the second visit, he took many tests, including a biopsy, all in the lab within his office. I was so impressed by the timing and communication from beginning to end. He explained everything to me and took time to contact me personally with some of the test results and his concerns. I felt like I was in good hands and chose not to see any other doctors. Surgery was scheduled immediately once my anemia was not an issue. After surgery, I was told my diagnosis was adenomyosis, bleeding within the uterine walls, and the only cure is a hysterectomy. Very happy to know this surgery was the accurate solution and very necessary! I healed quicker than expected. It has only been 2 months since the surgery and I am pain free and very happy. His staff and the hospital staff were also excellent in dealing with some of my higher risk issues that came up.I started a new career working as a Paralegal in downtown Chicago. I walk everyday to and from the train, and I sit and stand for hours at work. I would not be able to do this job without this surgery.I recommend Dr. Stanley Friedell to all women seeking a great surgeon. My quality of life is great again, thanks to Dr. Friedell and his staff. Dr. Friedell is an Excellent Five Star Doctor and surgeon!
Dr Friedell and his team out wonderful doctors. I saw Dr. Friedell during my entire pregnancy which had complications and he did a wonderful job taking the time to answer all my questions and make me feel reassured. On days when I was not able to see Dr. Friedell all the other OBGYNs in the practice were equally great. Love this practice.
I have been seeing Dr. Morton for about two years now and she and the entire staff at Northwestern Womens Health has been fantastic! She is always open to my questions and makes me feel super comfortable. When I found out I was pregnant the staff was super helpful and got me in to see her even before the appointment time which is great because I am a bit anxious so that helped me out a lot. I cannot recommend them enough (especially Dr.Morton!)!
Dr. Friedell is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and super attentive doctor. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and provides straightforward and honest course of treatment. I ended up needing a surgery which went well and I was well taken care of by Dr. Friedell and the rest of his staff. His office is also very friendly, responsive and always helpful. Thank you!
Dr. Morting delivered my last 2 babies. She is such an amazing doctor and so easy to talk to. The care she provides is outstanding. She rarely runs late/behind during office visits so the wait time in the waiting room is not bad at all. Ill recommend her over and over again to my Chicago friends!
Dr. Aleena Lakhanpal is wonderful. This was my second baby that I delivered with the help of this practice. Both the times, I’ve had wonderful experience. Earlier it was Dr. Friedell but since he wasn’t taking any more new patients, I was with dr. Lakhanpal. They really know their patients well.
Dr. Friedell was very attentive towards my concerns and was very helpful and fantastic in attending to me. I cannot rave more about him and his services hes truly went above and beyond his call of duty. Even up until now, two months after my surgery, hes still checking up on me and my recovery! Nothing but good things about this establishment!
Dr. Stanley Friedell is amazing! I came to him because I needed a laparoscopic procedure performed, and he was recommended to me. I couldnt have been happier with my decision. From the consultation, pre-op, and post-op appointments, I was nothing but impressed by the amount of care and thoroughness Dr. Friedell exhibited. The surgery went extremely well, without any complications, and post op healing has been a breeze, thanks to his care! I couldnt be happier!
I highly recommend these doctors. Dr. Friedell and his staff are patient, kind and professional. The service is like nowhere else. It is a commute for me to get to his office for me but very well worth it. Pretty quickly Dr. Friedell found the medical conditions that were causing me problems that other Doctors missed. Dr. Friedell was great throughout my surgery and recovery. Dr. Friedell also referred me to a wonderful oncologist whom he works with and I have now switched all my medical providers to northwestern. I recently had surgery at another hospital for another issue, I can tell you I didn’t get this level of service elsewhere.
Amazing. Great staff. Have been going to this practice for over 8 years. Dr Friedell was great when I had an issue. Csection delivery was well done. The doctors in this practice care about you and your baby. Follow up is great. What doctor will call you on a weekend - Dr Friedell.
I cannot say enough good things about this practice. I have been with Dr Friedell and this doctor group through 3 babies and one terrible case of mastitis that turned out to be a MRSA staph infection. The level of care that I have received is phenomenal. These doctors REALLY care about their patients. They never take their eye off of your well being. They also have a tremendous relationship/reputation with Prentice and the Labor and Delivery staff, which puts you in great hands for delivery. This is the practice that you want to trust with such an important aspect of your life, and your baby’s life!
We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Dr. Stanley Fridell at Northwestern Womens Health Associates. Dr. Fridell and his staff treated us with the absolute best care. I felt extremely comfortable during my pregnancy and labor. He coached me through the entire experience. I strongly recommend this practice and will be going to him for delivery of all my future babies. Thank you!
I came to this clinic because I was dx with fibroids. I searched online and ran across Dr Stanley Friedell. After researching and reading all of the awesome reviews, I felt he would be the right Dr to help me make the rght decision regarding my health. This Dr was extremely nice and caring. He explained all of my options thoroughly. He listened to me and showed compassion. The entire staff from the clinic to the hospital were so kind. My hospital stay was like being in a hotel with caring nurses and staff. Thank you all so much for taking good care of me!
Every time I have to go to Northwestern Womens Health Associates S. C. I am treated with respect and respect my time (if my appointment is at 2:00 I am in the room by 2:00) everyone always has a smile on their face and are so nice. I would definitely recommend Northwestern Womens Health Associates S. C. to everyone.Mary Jo D.
I have been overwhelmed by the care received here. All staff has been personable and overly accommodating. Dr. Friedell is amazing. He brought humor and wisdom with every visit. My delivery with Fr. Friedell was perfect. He kept me at ease and he was efficient. I truly felt like I was in the best hands possible. Thank you!
Dr Friedell literally saved my life and I cannot thank him enough. He as well as everyone on staff at Northwestern are very professional. Dr. Friedell took a comprehensive approach in conjunction with early intervention to ensure that he gave me the best options for my health. If you’re looking for someone to take care of you especially if you suffer from issues with PCOS as I do then look no farther.
I went here for my first child. Now my kid is 3 months old. The doctors and nurses are great, but the office staffs are so mean, irresponsible, and not helpful. Since all the communication with the office has to go through the front desk, I experienced so many frustration moments. Just give two examples:The first time when I visit the office, the front desk lady didnt checked me in and asked me to wait in the waiting room for 2 hours! during that two hours, I checked with her for several times why it takes for so long. She just said wait there rudely without checking if she did her job correctly. The second case happened today. My STD form was pending in the office for 1 months. I called the office for many many times and the front desk just said we will leave a note to your doctor but I never heard back. Today is the deadline. I tried to call the office to follow up at 4:45 pm and the front desk kept hang off my call for 5 times. at the 6 time, she picked up and lied to me!! She said all the doctors and nurses are gone please call back tomorrow. In fact, my doctor and nurse were still in the office. (So irresponsible!!)The terrible experience with the office staffs (probably just one or two bad one) made it so hard to have a good experience with this institute. I hope my voice can be heard and hope that irresponsible office staff can show some respect to the patient.
I am a relatively new patient after my previous ob/gyn retired, this practice is excellent. Dr Friedell took on an issue I had been having previously, diagnosed it, had a very good experience with surgical management of the issue and great follow up to make sure there were no recurrent problems, I feel very confident that I am in good hands here and am grateful!
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Stanley Friedell--it is so rare that a doctor be able to provide not only top-notch medical care, but do so with such warmth, humor, and kindness. He is EXACTLY the kind of care that you hope and pray that you will be able to find in a city like Chicago.I originally found him simply by searching through the OB/GYN doctors on the Northwestern Medical website when I became pregnant. I selected him because he had by far the best credentials that I could find--Pritzer School of Medicine, Northwestern residency, and chief resident before founding his own practice. To my pleasant surprise, my first appointment showed that not only was he beyond qualified to care for my baby during my pregnancy, but he is a very nice, down-to-earth person with a good sense of humor!! He has a wife and two kids, with pictures of them everywhere in his office. We had a nice conversation every time I came for an appointment, and I felt I was getting the best care each time. His nurses were friendly as well (I never felt judged when it came time for the dreaded pregnancy weigh-ins! ha). In my opinion, having a great relationship with your OB/GYN is a must in order to comfortably discuss your wants and concerns. (I think a lot of women think that it is better to have a female doctor for this, but studies have shown that male doctors are generally more sympathetic to their female patients than female doctors!)But the real reason I write this is that when it came time for my labor and delivery. There I am, in labor at 4 a.m., expecting the doctor in his practice that is on call to arrive...imagine my surprise when Dr. Friedell arrives in my delivery room! For those of you that dont know, it is generally unlikely that your doctor will be there to deliver your baby in the middle of the night, it is always the physician on call. But there he is in the middle of the night, monitoring my babys vitals. Sparing the details of what happened next, there were some complications and I will just say that Dr. Friedells experience and knowledgeable care is the sole reason I was able to deliver my baby safely without cesarean. It was also fun watching him teach the residents various things. I dont know about you, but I would rather have the teacher than the student as my doctor. Im so glad that hell be there to deliver my next one!
Thank you Dr. Friedell! He is an amazing doctor who cares for his patients. He did my surgery and I have been so happy with the outcome. The staff is great. I have been a patient of this clinic for years and I will continue to be.
Dr. Stanley Friedell is truly one of the best doctors you will ever have the pleasure of working with. I say working because its work to bring babies into the world! Especially my pregnancy. I became spontaneously pregnant with mono-do twins (identicals sharing one placenta). This was a high risk pregnancy and Dr. Friedell looked out for my baby girls every step of the way. He called late night with test results and always let us know of all the risks and what the best plan of action was. He missed nothing and for that reason, even though I went into labor at 33.2, the girls were safe and healthy and made it though their NICU stay and came home with us. My labor and delivery with Friedell couldnt of gone smoother. As soon as I was at 10cm (which happened quickly) he was there saying are you ready to go push?! He felt confident on a vaginal delivery even though baby A was head down with baby B being breech. I feel like he saved me from the typical twin c section! Him and his team in the delivery room were total rockstars cheering me on and making me believe I could birth twins! I recovered quick enough to be at the hospital all day every day visiting my babies for 30 days til they both came home. If you need an outstanding obgyn for having your baby, look no further than dr. Friedell and northwestern womens health associates. I truly felt so cared for throughout the entire experience and still do.
Dr Friedell is a compassionate, very knowledgeable doctor. He pays attention to detail and takes the necessary time with patients to solve problems. Office staff is friendly and organized.
As a foreigner the US healthcare system can be confusing and finding the right care overwhelming. Ive been seeing Dr. Whitney Dunn for over 3 years now, and for 2 pregnancies. She is a wonderful doctor who genuinely cares, takes her time to answer any and all questions, is compassionate and experienced. We could not be luckier to have found her! Highly recommend her and the NW Womens Health practice.
Dr. Brunengraber is very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and honest. Her prenatal and postpartum care were exceptional. I experienced low blood platelets towards the end of my pregnancy and she ensured my levels were closely monitored. I felt confident and safe under her care and guidance. In my second trimester I met with the other OBGYNs and Nurses at the practice and felt an equal level of care and support. Ultimately Dr. Brunengraber delivered our son and it went perfectly. I can’t recommend Dr. Brunengraber and her colleagues at Northwestern Womens Health Associates enough!
I am 39 WEEKS pregnant and received a call today at 2pm about rescheduling my appointment which is in two days from today. I was told my primary doctor has to go on emergency leave and they need to reschedule me with another doctor. Next, I was told there are no doctors available for me to reschedule my appointment with. I am surprised that the office called me in the first place only to end up having to tell me that there are no doctors available. The practice is open until 7pm today but they will not be able to get back to me about my appointment until sometime tomorrow. Am I expected to find a new OBGYN at 39 weeks pregnant?!? Extremely disappointed with this practice.
The office is not at all well managed. The staff accidentally cancelled my step two of the down syndrome testing appointment, the doctor once wasn’t even given my ultrasound results by accident because a staff member forget, they have made me wait me wait for over 45 mins on multiple occasions because they forgot about me etc. The office doesn’t even remind you what your next appointment will consist of.I would suggest new moms consider going to another practice. I know I am, even though I’m just end my 2nd trimester.
I highly recommend Dr. Stanley Friedell at Northwestern Womens Health Associates. My sister and I have been his patients for many years. Hes smart, reliable and proactive. At a recent appointment with Dr. Friedell I casually mentioned some symptoms I was experiencing and instead of telling me its nothing, dont worry about it Dr. Friedell ordered some additional testing while still reassuring me it probably is nothing of concern but still wanted to follow up to be certain. He works very long hours and even called me once on a Sunday to give me my mammogram results. Its my pleasure to write a review of Dr. Friedell. Melinda O. Brennan
I cant say enough good things about Dr. Feldstein and his staff. I am a fairly new patient but each appointment, Ive received nothing but professional service. This is the only doctors office that Ive been to and there isnt a long wait to see the doctor.Dr. Feldstein is nice and such a professional. He asks permission before starting any exams and is always open to listening to your concerns as oppose to blowing you off with some medical terminology that you have no knowledge of. When he does use medical terminology, he breaks down the exact definition and the plan of action to get it resolved based upon my concerns and my symptoms. He recently performed a surgery on me. Although I was nervous, he assured me that all would be well and he would do his all to make the procedure as less invasive as possible (meaning little to no cutting) and he did just that.I didnt know what to expect after the surgery as far as pain and the healing process but I have to admit, having this much needed surgery made me feel like Im on the path to good health. Although I am still recovering, I havent felt this type of relief in years.I highly recommend this practice for Womens Health concerns.
Dr Morton and team were absolutely amazing! They made sure we had all oftof information we needed and made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire pregnancy. Definitely recommend Dr Morton. She never made me feel rushed and answered the million questions I had throughout everything.
Excellent care. Period. Dr. Stanley Friedell provides thorough, detailed, experienced care. Hes delivered close to 9,000 babies! He has truly seen it all. I was referred to him by a friend and stayed with him for my pregnancy and delivery because he made me feel taken care of in every way - and as a patient who was simply scared of getting pregnant and delivering a baby because of a tricky heart condition that means a lot. Sure, there might be times when your appointment time is not honored to the minute and youre left waiting BUT its only because he is giving his time and attention to another woman who needs it and that you might need when it is your turn. A little bit of a wait is a small price to pay for top-notch, quality healthcare. He will ALWAYS make time for you. He calls his patients in the evening to talk about test results or questions you email to him that day. He knows what hes doing! Stan is to-the-point and will tell you exactly whats going on and what you need to know and answers questions before you have even thought of them. He once told me dont go home and google this knowing that I would. The office is no bells and whistles but is definitely a well oiled machine. The nurses are knowledgeable and patient. A special shout out to the Nurse Practitioner, Amber and the Leann the ultrasound tech. They are also incredible at their jobs and take excellent care of their patients. I also have a serious thing with needles and when I explained to him that Id need to lay down for the blood work I heard him step out and be sure his staff knew that I was to lay down and to stay there for as long as I needed. I have recommended him to my sister, my closest girl friends and even strangers! There is no one else I want to take care of my sister and best friends than Dr. Friedell. He stayed late at the hospital to deliver me (when I know he had a family commitment that night) and I know hes done the same for other patients. The nurses at Prentice knew him by name and spoke of him kindly. There arent enough positive things I could say about Dr. Friedell.
Dr Friedell is phonominal. I was experiencing issues with non stop mensus due to fibroids. His bedside manner and expertise help me resolve this issue. My surgery experience was flawless.. the team was ready to go and very knowledgeable. Overall, I have minimum scarring and have healed pretty well. Def recommend Dr Friedell !!!!!
There was an accident on the road on my way here which would have put me right at the 15 min grace period, changing my arrival time. I called very worried since I had just driven over an hour just to see Dr. Aleena. Was reassured that if I came in the 15 mins grace period I would be seen. I get there at the 13 min mark, having just ran to get there before the 15 mins and very thankful I had made it. Whew!! Was not seen by the front desk until 7 minutes later which was a huge bummer as the time they recorded was not matching with when I arrived (I was texting my husband every step so definitely had it all logged down to the minute) and then was told to wait outside. 30 minutes go by of waiting with no communication. That’s fine, no worries.I was then told that the Dr decided she will not see me. That ‘it’s not always’ a 15 min grace period (even if I had just been told that). Left in tears, could not believe they’d go back in their word after being reassured earlier. Played on someone’s emotions big time all the while being in pain and scared due to a health condition that this visit would have addressed. Some tips if you’d like to come here: do not rely on the word of the person on the phone, as they are not aligned internally. If you’re even 5 mins delayed, just turn back and reschedule. If you don’t live in the loop, skip this doctor as no matter how early you leave anything can happen and the grace period is not real. Even if you make it you won’t be seen right away adding to the time that they record you arrived.I would have been 100% fine not being seen if I had not called ahead and been reassured of the grace period. It was just such a weird experience to have been lied to. Don’t think that’s ever happened with a doctor’s office I’ve respected and was looking forward to go to. I really hope the team is able to be honest and empathetic with future patients.
Dr. Friedell is amazing! He helped delivered my first baby and the whole process was super smooth and stress free. All the staff in the office are super friendly too. Highly recommend!
Ive seen Dr Regina Belmonte for over 9 years. She delivered my 2 children as c-sections. Shes a wonderful doctor. Truly there isnt a doctor I would have wanted more in the delivery room than Dr. Belomonte. She is very knowledgeable and is great to talk to about any concerns. Both my husband and I were confident that if something happened in the delivery room, she would have taken charge to ensure the health of my child as well as my health. Were now done having children, and I still see Dr. Belmonte. She is wonderful to talk with about any health concerns. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Feldstein, was great!! We met initially over telemed, he was kind, understanding and walked me through some challenges I was experiencing. Ive seen him since for an in-person appointment and he was just as kind and considerate. Go visit Dr. Feldstein, he was great.
Worth the travel for Dr. Marc Feldstein!I travel from the Far West suburbs for the expertise, care and kindness of Dr. Feldstein. I trust in his professionalism, knowledge and gentle care to guide me with my health and annual visits. He takes the time to explain thoroughly and comfortably share the plan for my care and continued good health. I appreciate his dedication and reassurance that he offers over the many years that I have been blessed to be his patient. He is well worth the travel and time invested in my busy world! I so appreciate him and would strongly recommend him to anyone -no matter how far the distance. He is well worth it.
I have been having some problems. I have visited several Doctors and many ERs. I found Dr Friedell on Google. Tried him and he found and treated the problem. His staff continued to check on me and he called several time. He is the best there is. I will definitely be going back. My first visit, he sat me in his office and listened to me. He showed that he really cared. If I could give him 1000000 stars, I would.
I moved to America in the summer of 2012, and was blessed with a pregnancy in the summer of 2013. There was so much changing around me, new country, new people, family all the way in Asia and new hospital system and then a new chapter of my life. I would have been a nervous wreck had it not been for the entire Northwestern Womens Health Associates S.C. team. Doctors and nurses.Dr. Stanley Friedell delivered my healthy baby girl last month...He was like a coach of a football team in the theater. My husband and I truly feel that the delivery went smoothly primarily because of Dr. Friedells skill, command, leadership and warmth. We highly recommend Dr. Friedell and the entire team Northwestern Womens Health Associates. To the reader Hope the experience is as beautiful for you as it was for me...Good luck!
Dr. Feldstein is THE BEST by far!!!!!!Im a new patient and cannot even express how beyond grateful I am to have found Dr. Marc Feldstein!! He has been extremely compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and thorough from day one. After 15+ years I was misdiagnosed/mistreated/dismissed by more Dr.s than I can count, Dr. Feldstein recommended a biopsy and I was FINALLY properly diagnosed with lichen sclerosus and am receiving proper treatments! He has changed my life, I cannot thank him enough!
My wife and I go here for prenatal care for our first child. The doctors are fine but the front office staff and administrative people are terrible. We frequently wait 45 min to over an hour after our scheduled time before we are put in a room just to sit and wait more. Given you are going every month or two weeks this is a big deal. Secondly scheduling appointments is a total disaster. They are supposed to help guide you through process of having a baby but when my wife calls to schedule next appointment they are asking her what she is calling for. This place is totally unprofessional and the worst part is that the doctors themselves dont care about feedback. I would avoid this practice and look elsewhere for better care and service.
Not sure where to even start. 😕 I wish everyone at this location the best experience and I would like to tell the others who are about to become patients to beware. When you schedule your appointments, do not assume the staff will do it correctly. Not only from own experience, but also from observing multiple angry pregnant mothers in the waiting room, be sure your ultrasound is not a telemedicine visit, triple check whether you may bring your significant other. They will tell you you cant and when you show up by yourself, they will tell you that you forfeited the right of your husband at your first ultrasound.Be careful to have your blood tests at the correct pregancy week (past 24). Be sure to ask how long each visit is, because some are 20mins long, some take 1 hr. If you plan your day, you may end up in the 1st waiting room for 1.15mins when they celebrate someones birthday (these tend to be lunch hours), but most times the appointments are actually only 25 mins late😟.The street parking is only 2hrs at the time, so you may risk a ticket for the longer appointments. It is a bit tricky to plan your day for the ultrasound checks. Bring water with you though they have a water fountain.Beware the ultrasound may not be pleasant. They do provide warm gel for your belly, but the technician was rough with me. Im not sure if you can tell them to ease up, but the belly taps, jabs and other necessary moves they need to make for the baby to move around were actually pretty painful. It did not help for the baby to move to her liking, even when I run, jumped and hung head down. Mine just sleeps during the day and nothing disturbed it.Bleeding after a visit when I was fine coming in is not ok with me, no matter the bs you are told about being hypersensitive👎.When and if you receive medication of any kind, do not trust they talked to pharmacist about cheaper alternatives. Do not even trust you will receive correct dosage or medicine. Just take your prescription and go to an off-site pharmacy to triple check with someone who is not interested in your $$$$.Their phlebotomists are very bad with blood drawing. If you get bad brusing that spreads all over your arm or they jab you 4 times without being able to hit the spot, it is not you not drinking enough water. Pain in the arm that lasts days to weeks is almost worth a phlebotomy malpractice lawsuit.Lastly, I want to star the nurses. No issues there.Good luck to you all, consider your options carefully.
I went to the doctors today for my 6 weeks postpartum appointment hoping to get an extension on my return to work date because I’m not physically, mentally, nor emotionally prepared to return but my doctor disagreed. Due to being physically capable TO HER for work, I have to go to work now. Since when does a doctor know your own body? And just because I’m ‘physically capable’ (I am still in pain) does not mean I am in other aspects. I AM NOT READY but because of her, I have to go back. All I asked was for an additional 2 weeks and that was denied.
Dr Friedell and all the staff are friendly, professional and caring. I felt completely confident in the care I’ve received over the years and most recently during my surgery in April. I highly recommend Dr Friedell.
I was referred to Dr. Friedell from my gynecologist since my doctor no longer delivers babies. I have since referred others to Dr. Friedell as well. Yes, the wait time CAN at times be long, but youre at a doctors office--its to be expected. Dr. Friedell delivered both of my kids. The first one was textbook; the second not so much. Twice during my second labor, the delivery room filled with 15+ people from the hospitals response teams--an eventful delivery, to say the least. Knowing that Dr. Friedell and the other OBs often attend to emergencies like mine, I dont mind sitting around in their waiting room a few minutes longer if it means they are at a patients bedside, prioritizing her care when it matters the most. Not that you want something to go wrong, but if it does, Dr. Friedells the one you want treating both you and your little one.
As a mature woman of a certain age it has been my experience that gynecological care is difficult to find. Our complaints can be over looked or under valued and at worst result in not seeking help because we may feel embarrassed. At my age, sitting in a waiting room full of young women in various stages of pregnancy, you could say to yourself....Is this the practice for me? YES...this was the practice for me. Pregnancy is not the only reason all women need competent, compassionate, and professional care. The Northwestern Womens Health Associates S.C. and my physician, Dr. Whitney Dunn, as well as the entire staff of this the office was wonderful. Dr. Dunn, was kind, sensitive to my needs, thorough with her exam and diagnostic test and sound in her judgement on treatment. During this Covid-19 situation she diagnosed my problem and was able to perform two surgeries both of which I have recovered 100% . I am very fortunate and grateful for the care and treatment I received from Dr. Whitney Dunn.
Maybe the docs are good, dont know and wont know. I tried scheduling an appointment and I was greeted by the RUDEST front desk woman I ever had to deal with. She was unprofessional, rude and did not answer any of my questions. I noticed I am not the only one who gave similar reviews. Anyways, I gave up. Will look elsewhere. If this is how they greet their new patients ….Id stay away!Suggestion to the physicians of the practice: fire that lady. your business will greatly benefit.
I have been going to this office for little over a month now due to some complications! I have been seen Dr Friedell, he is very caring and always made sure he answers all my concerns. I am beyond impressed with my experience with Dr Friedell and his PA Amber. Dr Friedell called me many times after hours to talk to me about my medical results and answers any concerns that I have.I would highly recommend Dr Friedell.
I saw Dr. Belmonte a few years back a couple times for my annual ob/gyn visit. I tried to explain the symptom I was having of painful periods and she told me as long as it wasn’t a “new symptom” (I had been experiencing it for several years at this point) then I was fine, which doesn’t make a lot sense. This is why endometriosis goes undiagnosed in women for an average of 10 years. Also Dr. Belmonte told me it was fine to take ibuprofen all day everyday for a week once a month “if it worked” for the pain (later an endoscopy showed my stomach lining was seriously damaged, likely due to the pain medication). She also was cold and impersonal. I’m so glad I ended up going elsewhere where doctors actually listened to me and believed me and helped confirm my symptoms were consistent with endometriosis.
My Experience with Dr Friedell was 100%. He is an excellent surgeon, caring & very personable. He truly made a difficult procedure so easy for me! Thank you Dr Friedell
My experience at NWHA has been wonderful due to Dr. Belmonte. She delivered both of my children, one during a stressful delivery. She was calm. cool and caring in very intense situation. Ive seen Dr. Belmonte annually since and she approaches routine visits with the same thoroughness and genuine care. She really is the best!
Ive been a patient here for over 10 years and the staff has always been pleasant and professional. The team of doctors Ive worked with during my pregnancy have been compassionate and helpful throughout the ups and downs of this journey.
0/10 would not recommend this practice or Doctor Regina Belmonte to anyone. I had a terrible experience from start to finish. Not only did I have to wait in the waiting room (pre-covid) for an hour and 20 minutes, Dr. Belmonte did not address specific concerns I had or offer any patient education regarding birth control options. I discovered I had been prescribed a generic version of Yaz which has thousands of lawsuits for DVT, stroke, and sudden death. Not once during my visit did Dr. Belmonte educate me on these side effects. When I called back to discuss these concerns and to change my birth control, my calls had still not been returned after 5 days. I even offered to make an appt and the receptionist told me that would not be necessary and someone would call me back. Well I’m still waiting. I’ve made an appt with a completely new practice who I will probably see before I ever get a call back. As a fellow healthcare professional I can confidently say this was the worst patient care I have ever received.
The vest experience I’ve ever had at a women’s health center. I saw Dr. Friedel and he was great. He took the time to do a consultation before the exam, something that’s never happened to me . The staff is nice and accommodating. If you are on the fence about going here, please consider this group.
Dr Freidell is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and really cares about his patients. He is very good at getting to the root of the problem, especially with overlapping symptoms. He guided me through all my options and their implications. I will highly recommend him and his team.
Dr. Aleena Lakhanpal is AMAZING!! She took the time to really get know me, and answered all of my questions. She was very thorough and made me feel at ease in every way possible. It’s been my best experience yet. The practice itself is very clean and everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. Overall I had a wonderful experience!
My experience with Dr. Friedel is always GREAT... He answers EVERY question no matter how big or small and even makes sure my significant other questions are answered... HE IS THE BEST
Update review : that day I did find another office to take me in, my ultrasound was abnormal and I’m now on restrictions... good thing I didn’t waitIf 0 stars could be possible. I made my apt. 5 weeks ahead of time to see the dr. for my 1st ob apt. 20 mins before my apt the day of they call me to cancel. I was already in the building so I decided to walk up there and see if anyone else can see me since I’ve waited 5 weeks I’m almost done with my 1st trimester and haven’t seen a dr! Upon coming in the receptionists were already like nope nothing open, no one can see you. You have to reschedule without an apology or sympathy. Turning us away like we are nobodies. Like how can you do this I’m pregnant I haven’t seen a dr. yet! It’s understandable people go into labor but don’t cancel your apts that your patients have been waiting over a month to see you. Have another dr/ nurse cover for you. That right there is not best patient care. As a worker in the NORTHWESTERN SYSTEM and how my dept works, we go ABOVE AND BEYOND for our patients to be seen the day of. But here, this is not it. I would send any of my patients, friends, family here.
My wife and I could not have been any happier with Dr. Friedell and the care team at Northwestern Womens Health Associates. My wife had a high risk pregnancy, which caused us to come in frequently. The entire team was always so caring and did a great job explaining the babys development and my wifes current condition. We will be back for our next!
Ive been a patient of Dr. Roth for many years. She is an excellent physician, has a terrific bedside manor, and I have the utmost confidence in the care I receive from her.I recently had a medical issue that required outpatient surgery at Prentice Womens Hospital. I was under the care of Dr. Friedell and I cant say enough about the professional, empathetic way he and his staff, including the surgery staff at Prentice, took care of me. I had NO PAIN at all after the surgery, none. I didnt have to take so much as one ibuprofen. The medical team at NWHA are wonderful, caring professionals and everything you hope your physician(s) should be.
I’m very surprised by all of the good reviews of this office. Patient service representatives and medical assistants absolutely rude and NOT helpful. Speaking over you on the phone and cutting you off when you speak; CONTINUALLY! I had to laugh in disbelief. They tell you that someone will call you back same day and when you call to follow up they state “someone will contact you in 24-48 hours”.. hmm. They NEVER answer their portal messages. Absolutely not a way to make people feel comfortable reaching out to their doctor. It’s a shame because Dr. Dunn is so great — but the rest of the people in the office are terrible to deal with.
If you want your appointments to be honored (live or telemed) or to get a correct prescription called in on time, this might not be the place. However, some of the doctors in this practice are really great. It is the administration that falls short.
This practice takes on too many patients so staff is over worked and unfriendly. They even made me cry at nine months pregnant because I was told to stand in one place and wait and then told I was not to stand there because I was in the way (I was huge but still). Also, the wait times are long (and the WiFi doesnt work so bring a book). It is difficult and expensive to park. Finally, they do not routinely do ultrasounds at the end of your pregnancy so I ended up having an emergency call section because they didnt realize my son was breach. I definitely do not recommend this practice. Do not go here.
I love my doctor, Regina Belmonte! She is honest and very reassuring. I had to have two c-sections with my girls and I would not trust any but her to perform the procedure. My only issue with the office is getting late notices when a doctor was delayed or had to leave. Other then that I am very happy with this office.
Dr.Julianne Morton is amazing! I was recommended by a friend when I moved to the Chicago area and was looking for an OB-GYN. I have seen her for two years in Chicago for my yearly exam. She is beyond kind and great at what she does. Dr.Morton makes you feel very comfortable and is such an incredible doctor! I have recommended her to all of my friends as well who need a new gyno/OB-GYN.
Dr. Morton is a really great doctor. She has an incredible bedside manner and makes you feel comfortable. She makes sure to ask if you have any questions and will happily answer all of them with you. Would highly recommend!
I had to have a laproscopic hysterectomy done by Dr. Friedell and all went fabulously! They were very detailed in pre-op which made a lot of difference. I came out of surgery feeling great and post op I was back to work within two weeks. Everyone at the practice, at the hospital, at pre-op were incredible.
I would not recommend this practice or Dr. Belmonte. I went in for the first time on 1/17/22 and the entire experience felt very impersonal, as if I was just another number. I shared that I have a PCOS diagnosis and am trying to lose weight. Her demeanor was very cold and uninviting to the point where she asked if I had any questions but I felt so awkward that I didn’t feel comfortable to speak up. All the information she got about me and my diagnosis was because I offered it up proactively, she barely asked me anything outside of the routine family health history. She asked some questions about depression because there is a new requirement but it was as obvious she didn’t care what my answers were and that she was just checking a box. As a woman in her 20s trying to get control of my health, I felt like it was such a waste of time. She prescribed me the pill and told me to eat less than 1400 calories without having me do bloodwork or asking any other questions. I am thoroughly disappointed by this practice, if you are looking for help with PCOS or other womens health related issues not related to conceiving or giving birth I would look elsewhere.
I have had ok experiences before but this time it was horrible. I had an 1:30PM appt but didnt get seen until 3:40PM.Turns out: front desk had me pay the copay when I arrive, but she forgot to check me in the system, and I waited for more than 1 hour in vain while she was busy putting candies into socks hanging from the ceiling.Whats worse, after she realized her mistake, there was no apology to me, just tiny whispers to the nurse hoping to cover up the mess-up, unfortunately I still heard it.Next time Ill just reschedule and ask for a refund if I cant be seen within 20 min.
I flew all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia just to see Dr Stanley Friedell and that was the best decision I made. Hes the best OB-GYN in Chicago. Before I flew to Chicago, he was willing to do video call and answered my questions to make sure I was ready for the surgery. Thats when I knew that Im in good hands.
Doctors are great! They are personable and thorough. The receptionists however need customer service improvements, too bad that they are the reason I will never be back after these last 2 months. With the insurance, cost of parking, inconvenient hours and location, you would think you should get better service. Its way too expensive to be treated with disrespect.
I would highly recommend Dr. Morton. She is a perfect combination of being professional and compassionate and answered all of my first-time parent questions with patience. I think the practice is fantastic, responsive and wonderful at easing fears.
Dr. Brunengraber has been so great to work with throughout the process of having my two children. She is kind, compassionate, and thorough. Id highly recommend her to anyone!
I am very pleased with my experience here. There was one time where we waited an exceptionally long time but for the most part, our wait time was reasonable. I absolutely recommend Dr. Friedell. He is very professional and helpful. He performed my surgery and I am very happy with my experience.
Dr. Stanley Friedell is very competent and professional. Overall an extraordinary doctor, great listener, helpful and caring.I am very pleased being in his care and I highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Lakhanpal is incredible! She was my OB throughout my first pregnancy and delivery in April. She did a wonderful job answering all of my questions and made it a great experience.
I learned about NWHA from a womens health discussion hosted by a fellow Yelper. For the most part I had been pleased with my gyno, but as I sat through the presentation and heard the moderator (a nurse practitioner) talk about how she makes her patients comfortable and chats with them before getting down to business, I started to have some second thoughts.Finding a new doctor is a bit like dating, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. Fortunately for me, my luck with doctors is a lot better than my luck with men. I was a bit nervous to find out I was scheduled to see Dr. Wise, given the negative review of her on here; I envisioned some no nonsense, surly old lay with a tight bun and bad shoes. Luckily, she was nothing like that; Dr. Wise was close to my age, extremely nice, nonjudgmental and had on some cute kicks. Before I had to ditch my clothes we chatted about my medical history and reason for my visit. The nurse practitioner from the presentation was on the money, youre much more comfortable chatting openly when one of you isnt half naked. As much as I like my old doc, Im moving on and not looking back; I got much more personalized attention here.
BE AWARE: This office will charge double co pay (specialist fees) without telling you. I was looking for somewhere to get routine STI testing during the pandemic due to normal facilities being closed or appointments hard to find. This office is very unorganized and the doctor encouraged me to keep coming in for routine testing even though he knew I wasn’t there for specialist purposes, which resulted in a large bill that I was hit with months later.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Brunengraber during my first pregnancy! She is patient, kind and knowledgable. I would highly recommend her to others!
I cant say enough about Dr.Friddel. He is an amazing doctor. He is patient, understanding and caring. He makes you feel very comfortable and takes his time explaining thingsThank you Dr. Friddel
Dr Friedell gave me a better quality of life and is always someone reliable in my life. Ill be sad when I have to leave Chicago and find a new gynecologist. No one compares!
Dr. Belmonte is an excellent doctor! She makes a trip to the OBGYN a low stress and routine visit while providing a great bedside manner that is both informative and caring. Belmonte takes the necessary time with each patient asking the types of questions that help provide all the answers you need. I strongly recommend seeing her in this practice.
Being pregnant during a pandemic is not easy and Dr. Morton was amazing throughout my entire pregnancy and delivery of my first child in December. I would highly recommend Dr. Morton to anyone.
Dr. Belmonte is thorough, kind and intelligent. She takes the time to understand and talk through everything with you.She and her staff are so lovely, always on time and always knowledgeable. I would recommend 100%
Dr. Morton is amazing. The nurses that are suppose to prescribe your Rx to the correct pharmacy is the problem. I have been contacting the office 5 days in a row and there is no change, the Rx is still going to the wrong pharmacy.
Never going back. The nurses here are awful. I love Dr. Brunengraber but the way they treated me and the lack of help, empathy and professional service among the staff is unreal. I had a serious condition that was causing extreme pain and while Dr. Brunengraber did her best to help me resolve it, the nurses made it impossible for me and I never even got the medical help I needed.
Since the 1st day I enjoyed the way I was treated and the care was awesome, with the process to make sure my procedure was done in a timely manner. The professionalism and the loving care was exceptional!!! I will return for all my future health needs!!!
Doctors are good but if your going for an ultrasound expect to wait 45 minutes - 2 hours past your appointment time to even see the tech. It would be nice to have a courtesy call saying they are running late so you dont sit in a waiting room for 2 hours.
I rotated through all the Dr.’s on staff at NWHA, and they are all good experienced Dr’s If you’re looking for the best, go to NWHA and see Dr. Friedell. If you have to wait for your appointment just take a deep breath and remember that your prenatal or gynecological care is in the most capable hands, and if you are pregnant, he will drop everything to deliver your baby.
Dr. Belmonte guided me through 2 pregnancies, performed 2 c-sections, and has been an amazing & clear listener. She is an advocate for women and their bodies. As my daughters age, I will be bringing them to her for support and guidance. Dr. Belmonte knows women and their bodies.
Dr. Fridell was very caring and provided excellent care during my pregnancy. I am very happy with my experience and I highly recommend Dr. Fridell and this practice!
Large office, a lot of providers at this location. I see Dr. Lisa Brunengraber who is fantastic! I’m so glad I found her- she’s caring, through, and knowledgeable. I felt very at ease when I left the office. I highly recommend her.
I recommend my doctor (Marc Feldstein) to all of my friends! They have been amazing for the 12 years that I have been going to them! I could not be happier with the service and care. Bedside manner is the best!
I was referred to this office a few months ago and could not be happier. They are very professional and always take their time to meet all your needs. I would reccommend them to anyone. Dr. Friedell and his team are excellent.
I had two very complicated surgeries. Both turned out well with no complications.Dr. Friedell and his associates gave meExcellent care.
So hard to get ahold of anyone here. Have had multiple questions that don’t get answered and I’m constantly forwarded to someone else or put on hold. Nurses have been great but making an appointment / billing questions have always been a struggle here. Billing department literally goes to voicemail and tells you to call back on Thursday. Would not recommend.
Couldn’t be happier with Dr Friedell and NW Women’s Healtht Association. He was there to put any concern at bay and his expertise led to a smooth delivery; even when as issue arose. Couldn’t recommend more!
Dr. Belmonte is outstanding! She takes the time to answer any questions I may have and does a great job of explaining. The staff and nurses are all very nice and very helpful. I highly recommend this practice!
Dr Friedell is super knowledgeable and makes me feel very comfortable asking any questions. Whenever I call the office they handle any request/issue very quickly and kindly. Would recommend!
Had an awful experience here when I was having abnormal bleeding. Talked down to and dismissed. Went elsewhere and was promptly diagnosed and endometriosis removed.
Dr. Friedell and the entire staff are wonderful! I have always experienced attentive, compassionate and thorough care. Highly recommend!!
Super nice receptionist, very competent nurses, and Dr.Belmonte was very kind and professional. They also gave me an appointment ASAP which was incredible given that other gynecologists I was calling weren’t available until mid July.
I highly recommend Dr. Friedell, and I wish I would have switched over from my previous provider sooner. He is very knowledgeable and provides great care!
Dr Friedell is thorough, and leaves you with sense that he cares about your health. You cant ask for more than that. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Friedell is wonderful. The entire staff is very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Friedell and the Northwestern Womens Health practice!
ON MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH DR BELMONTE SHE WAS VERY THOROUGH ABOUT EVERYTHING AND GUIDED ME TO GET A MAMMOGRAM SCREENING SINCE I WAS 44 AT THAT TIME AND NEVER HAD ONE DONE. BEFORE I LEFT HER OFFICE HER STAFF MADE ME THE APPOINTMENT AND BECAUSE OF THAT, MY BREAST TUMOR WAS DETECTED ON TIME. I THANK GOD FOR DR BELMONTE FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE. SHE DOESNT TREAT HER PATIENTS AS $$ SHE ACTUALLY CARES, TAKES TIME TO COVER ALL AREAS AND TREATS YOU WITH PROFESSIONALISM .
I didnt actually get to see a doctor because the woman who took my information over the phone did not save the appointment in the system. Some of the staff were astonishingly unhelpful and unfriendly (except for one), considering it was their bordering on ridiculous oversight that caused the issue in the first place. Most likely will not return.
Highly competent team of doctors. They strive to choose the best course of treatment, which best fits each individual patient.
I love all the providers the only reason I gave one star due to the front desk staff. The receptionists are very rude over the phone and in person. I will not come back to this office after I deliver.
My doctor is knowledgeable and caring with great bedside manner. The wait is NEVER ever long. The nursing staff is impeccable. Great.
I didnt actually get to see a doctor at first time visit because the woman who took my information over the phone did not save the appointment in the system. Some of the staff were astonishingly unhelpful and unfriendly .
I highly recommend my doctor, Regina Belmonte. Not only is she fantastic, her staff is also very helpful and easy to talk to over the phone.
