PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING ‼️Negligence in Care for Black Women at Planned Parenthood Colorado Springs ‼️I never imagined that seeking care at Planned Parenthood would result in a life-altering experience—one that has not only impacted my health but also opened my eyes to the negligent treatment Black women often face in healthcare. On July 30th, I went to the Colorado Springs location for a surgical procedure, one I had undergone before in 2018 without any issues. This time, everything went horribly wrong. After the procedure, I was in the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I immediately informed the care team, but instead of addressing my concerns, they brushed it off, telling me to wait and see if the medication would work. I sat there in agony for over 30 minutes, feeling like I would faint whenever I tried to walk.It took far too long before the doctor finally agreed to take another look, but only after I suggested using an ultrasound for guidance—something that should have been done from the start. To my horror, during the second procedure, even with anesthesia, I experienced excruciating pain. I knew something was wrong, but again, my concerns were dismissed. The doctor assured me that I would be fine with the medication she prescribed. It’s now October 1st, and I am still in pain. I have been bleeding every day since the procedure, passing blood clots, and unable to live my life the way I did before. I can’t work out, travel, or do even the simplest daily activities without discomfort and fear. Reaching out for help has been a nightmare—getting in contact with the doctor has been nearly impossible. Even the nurse triage line, after weeks of persistence, only suggested that I take a pregnancy test, which was negative, as I had expected.I am devastated and angry. This isnt just about poor medical care; its about negligence and disregard for Black womens health. I feel ignored, disregarded, and like my life was put at risk by people who should have been protecting it. Planned Parenthood has shown no interest in fixing the damage they’ve done to my body, and now I am forced to pay out of pocket to repair their mistakes.I want to warn others: Be cautious about using Planned Parenthood for your care, especially if you are a Black woman. My advice is to look elsewhere. There are other healthcare providers who will treat you with the dignity and attention you deserve. I trusted this organization with my health, and I was let down in the worst possible way. No one should have to go through what I’ve experienced.
I went in for STD testing Im a transgender woman who transitioned almost 40 years ago, and I have to say that all staff members here were very respectful. However, despite my ID saying female, they did send me out of there with paperwork that said male, which I came back and had corrected. Every interaction I had was positive, and other than that one (major) blemish, this was a good experience.
I rarely leave a review about places but I wanted to take a moment to bring awareness to this amazing place. I had been battling something for a couple weeks at this point and called several clinics/doctors offices just to get in and be seen and listened to and heard and I was denied by so many. I took it upon myself to just come here and walk in and pray for the best. I was welcomed with grace and nurturing vibes instantly. I came in late in the afternoon and wasn’t sure if I’d be taken in but the team here accepted me and worked me in when they didn’t have to. I was nervous and scared for my visit as this was something extremely difficult to wrap my head around but every single staff member in this place treated me with nothing but kindness and warmth and there was no judgement. In fact I felt empowered in their presence because that’s how they made me feel. Between the receptionists/nurses and higher ups, I have never met more understanding and empathetic individuals in my life. What turned into a fearful day, I walked out feeling clear minded and relieved with the energy I experienced. Life can be so difficult and even in the hardest times there are those who make a difference. Truly angels. Thank you all for everything.
This place is truly a beautiful environment. The people here from receptionist to doctors are so respectful, caring, kindhearted and trusting. I recently had an experience here and left feeling like I mattered and was cared for properly. Rylee(RN), Lisa&dylan (idk if they were doctors or nurse practitioners) greeted me with such genuine, positive energy and made me feel comfortable during the time I was there. Such loving, kind spirited people and these people truly care about what they do and it shows. Special shout-out to the RN Rachael who made me feel as if I wasn’t alone. During an emotional time for me she was a support person I didn’t have. She made me feel safe, secured and validated. Truly a loving soul and I’m so thankful for my experience with her. I hope you all realize the difference you make in a persons life with just one interaction. Thank you all for what you do it doesn’t go unnoticed🤍🤍
Despite the fact that they were short staffed today and very busy, the employees were very friendly and helpful. I especially loved Kayla, the assistant who took my vitals and went over my health history. She was super friendly and positive, and I really enjoyed her bright attitude
Beyond competent, capable, reliable, and kind staff. I loved my experience so much at this location of Planned Parenthood. Changed my life.
Excellent staff and services. Everyone employed at this location is exemplary, and I highly recommend it. PP quite literally saved my life and I am so grateful for the kind non-judgmental care. The only downside was the protestors outside the clinic, very concerning.
I have never been treated so disrespectfully at a doctors office ever in my life.I came in to get my birth control refilled because I had a lapse in insurance and it was cheaper to come here than to go to my pharmacy, and I had my 18 month old son with me. The lady who was checking me in asked if i has a Stoller to strap him down in and I told her no, she then is he able to sit in a chair alone so I said yes. She then proceeds to check me in which took about 15 minutes because it was my first time.I waited in the lobby for about 25 minuets when another lady called me up to the front desk to tell me that they will not see me because i brought my child.I 100% understand its a liability but they should have either told me no kids when i made the appointment, or as soon as I walked in the door.So when she told me that they wont see me because I had my child with me, I said I have never heard of that like what do you do with single mothers who have 0 help at all and what birth control to prevent more kids? She said oh really so you take your kid to a doctors appointment with sharp objects laying around! That was the rudest comment ever like excuse me? That was the worst experience I have ever had, i will not ever go back there!!!And just some advice hire staff that is not rude and that wants to help not staff that wants to have judgy rude comments...
This place obviously doesnt care or consider their patients wants or needs at all. I totally agree with all who would give them a 0 if that was an option. I had an appointment scheduled, even reminders sent to me through text and email. When I went to check it for my appointment I was told that I wasnt on the list. I showed them the phone number I called to schedule the appointment and they verified that it matched with their location. They finally found my information but still didnt see me, but scheduled me for the next day. When I got home I had a voicemail message reminding me again about my 10:40 appointment letting me know that they were expecting me and that they would wait for a few more minutes for me to arrive. Also leaving me a number to call if I needed to reschedule, which matched the information I had from the clinic I was just at. I purposely missed the next appointment and they never called me back after that day for rescheduling or with any concerns.
Can not get a simple BC prescription correct. Very frustrating to be told my birth control will be filled there then be told by the lady at the front desk that it’s at my pharmacy. It’s not, it was never sent there. It’s incredibly frustrating to be told this in a condescending tone and to have my birth control gate kept from me over their error in handling how my prescription gets filled.
Absolutely exceptional staff. Made me feel very heard, and took amazing care of me.
The staff got frustrated with a patient for being 10 minutes late... but were all sitting in the lobby an hour over our original appointment times... even if she was on time, she would still be sitting here waiting lol. Maybe the staff should learn to be on time with appointments.
Whoever was checking me in on 1/5/24 at the front desk turned me away without birth control due to insurance discrepancy, which I have none, I was paying out of pocket, she also stated something about too many people being redirected there from COVID? 4 YEARS AGO? She acted as if I was an inconvenience. And I wasn’t “redirected”. Ended up calling Littleton location, they were also very confused and made me an appointment 2 weeks out, unfortunately -not their fault. With no issues. Usually I have great experiences with planned parenthood. I’ve been going since I was a teen. I’ll just be making my future appointments with the Littleton location.
First time going to this place. I had an appt scheduled for 3:40PM. The security guard who asked me if I had an appt told me to go inside the door & have a seat & wait to be called, so that’s what I did. I sat there for about 10 minutes before I realized everyone else was going to the front desk once they came through the door. So I got up & waited for my turn. When I got to the front desk it was already 3:52PM. I told them I didn’t know I was supposed to check in because the security guard told me to have a seat (It being my first time I didn’t think anything of it) The 2 ladies helping me were super nice. Told me they saw me sitting there so it’s fine they’ll get me checked in & seen. 10 minutes into getting checked in another lady comes from the back room. She tells the two ladies helping me that they can not see me today. I asked her why & she told me that it was already 15 mins past my appointment time. I told her I had been sitting in the lobby since before my appointment. I told her the security guard told me to sit down & wait to be called so I didn’t check in right away. She said “Well we’re already running behind so unless you want to wait another hour & a half then we can’t see you today.” So it’s MY fault that you’re running behind & your security guard is telling people the wrong thing? She had the snobbiest attitude towards me. Even one of the ladies who was checking me in mouthed to me “I’m so sorry” so obviously it’s not new behavior from her. Now after already waiting 2 weeks to get into this appt I have to wait another 2 weeks for my next appt. I thought I’d be comfortable & feel supported going into this place but if that same lady is there when I go to my next appt I hope she’s not the person helping me because she is awful.
I cant give this Planned Parenthood enough stars. Yes, they book about 3 weeks out, but the individualized care they give you during your appointment is nothing like Ive experienced before. Ive been seen at womens clinics in Florida, and you just feel like another number. Ive never felt so welcomed and that my visit was their number one priority - even just for an IUD replacement. Dr. Chelsea and her assistant were great. I barely had to wait after I arrived at my appointment to be taken back, and everything went smoothly. Chelsea even went so far as to provide me primary care doctor referrals for some of my other health issues. There is nothing more important in this world than freedom of choice and bodily autonomy, and Planned Parenthood keeps those rights going. Also I need to add: DO NOT stop for the woman at the street by the stop sign who is dressed like she might work there with a clipboard. No one associated with this office is out by the street/stop sign.
I was 10 minutes late, and this location refused to see me today. Now I have to reschedule out in Denver because they are booked for 3 weeks out, does not suggest 👎👎
My daughter was seen at the Colorado Springs clinic; to have her birth control replaced. She was told by her primary care physician (at home 3 hours away) that it was time to renew. She also did her research, as to how long it lasted. Both were in agreeance. She was treated absolutely awful by the doctor that helped her. The doctor told her that this birth control lasted longer and didnt need to be replaced. She also told her this isnt about your mon when my daughter told the doctor that her mom had suggested she get it out, as well. Wow! I was pretty surprised and completely disgusted after hearing this? The lack of compassion and understanding this woman had, someone who is dealing daily with women in really awful and sensitive situations? My daughter felt more comfortable getting it out and was told by a professional that it needed to be replaced. Yet, the doctor in the Planed Parenthood office had the audacity to be rude and demining because of a differing opinion and tell my daughter Well this one could fail just as easily. Really? Thats an acceptable way of dealing with the situation? I find it very unprofessional and unethical to belittle a 19 year old young lady who is trying to be responsible and take care of herself. I dont recommend this clinic. I should have read the comments. The use of the word UNPROFESSIONAL is unbelievable. This place needs to shut its doors or clean house.
I was late to my appt due to having the wrong address somehow, but everyone was so understanding and gracious about still getting me seen. My appt was for birth control removal/new birth control. I expressed my stress about changing birth control, and they did everything they could to make sure that I was doing what was best for me. I felt heard. Plus, it is way more affordable without insurance than most places. I am thankful that I chose to go to Planned Parenthood.
I have went in 3 times now to this planned parenthood. Ive been seeing them for a little over 4 years and in July I started my depo birth control shot. I couldnt get it renewed November like I needed to because the Nurse to give me the shot was sick. Now I go in today and they tell me my prescription is expired and the lady to write my new prescription is also sick. They told ME to get my shot renewed every 6 months and now they havent let me back in.
I see planned parenthood routinely for a multitude of services. I understand we have a nationwide crisis as far as abortion access goes, but my last few appointments have all been forcibly cancelled or moved by the care team. The website shows clinician availability when booking online, and then 2 days before my appointment I get phone calls saying I cant be seen. If you dont have clinician access, please stop showing it on your website. I am disabled, I am epileptic and unable to drive independently, and it is an insanely huge conflicting in my life to have things altered at the last minute. This is the only clinic in Colorado Springs, and I cannot get reliable transport to Denver to deal with these mishaps!
Best experience ever, everybody made me feel welcomed and at home. Barbra was the nicest, the lady at the front desk also wish I knew her name. And the ladies in the back everybody just had good energy. I wish I lived in CO this would’ve been my main clinic.
The doctor and staff who saw me today, were very kind, professional, and understanding. The doctor made a personal choice, to skip her lunch break. Just to make sure that I was completely taken care of, before I left the facility (due to my high risk health problems). Thank you planned parenthood, for all that you did for me today.
If I could give this place a zero I would. Just know if you go here you will feel very unwelcomed. The office ladies are rude for no reason. They always claim they are “booked” when NO ONE is ever in the parking lot. I went when they just opened and mind you no one was there. She told me they already took 3 walk ins and that I had to go somewhere else. Worst front office ever…. Someone of them need to get fired especially the older African American lady she is the worst one there.
Never actually came in here to get anything done before but I did call to set up an appointment to have the implant birth control removed and have a new one put in. The place I went to have mine put in moved locations which is way too far. But I called around to all women clinics and they said 3 years. So when I called planned parenthood they told but they wouldn’t remove it unless I had it in for 5 years. It’s no secret this place is known for abortions so it got me thinking do they tell women this so if they were to get pregnant they’d come to them for abortion. Abortions make way more money then birth control. I don’t know seems suspicious to me. They told me they are research facility and they’re research shows 5 years. But how come no one else agrees with this?
All of the staff working at this planned parenthood are truly phenomenal, from reception to medical assistants and the clinicians. I have been to this location for check ups, testing and some more serious problems. Every time, the staff are compassionate, professional and will spend as much time as needed to address your concerns. If they cant offer the level of care you need they will absolutely advocate for you to whatever provider/hospital they refer you to. A weight is lifted knowing I can call them if I need them. And occasionally they run behind, but that is a given considering how few doctors offices provide all of the services that they do and the level of care they always deliver.
So when calling this place you want to call 1-866-887-PLAN(7526), and Its very annoying figuring out what the right number to call is. The wrong number is featured on the website and on the google places page. The actual services provided are all well and good, but for the love of god fix the button on your website and scrub any references or suggestions to numbers where you go to voicemail and get put on hold for 3 hours because there are no humans on the other end. I called that number and i was only on hold for less than 2 minutes, they resolved my issues right away, it was quick and painless.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is an absolute joke of a healthcare option and they never answer their phones. The older African American woman should not be allowed to work with the public at all as her attitude needs work. Went in weeks ago for testing where I wanted blood drawn and the receptionist who helped me was wonderful; she did speak to the rude receptionist about the tubes as there’s a tube shortage but she was very snippy and condescending the whole time and even yelled at me to make sure I didn’t use the bathroom until I was in the back for my other test. Most recent visit was today for a blood test to confirm pregnancy, but was told they make you do a pee test first… which was the whole reason I was there because of the pee test I took. I was offered an ultrasound which by that point wouldn’t have been a big help at all.Save your time and money by going somewhere else more reliable.
The staff is kind but the wait was excruciating. I came exactly on time for my appointment and I STILL waited over an hour in the exam room to be seen by a doctor. It makes me sad that this is what women have to go through just to be seen without paying $1000. Please, try to see an OBGYN if you have the option.
Made an appointment for IUD removal, and was admittedly about 10 minutes late for my appointment due to having to find another babysitter at the last moment, but the front desk staff who I spoke with was unnecessarily hostile and rude. I understood when she said that I was too late for my appointment so too bad how sad, but there are ways of dealing with people that do not involve being straight-up rude to them
I was denied a pregnancy test because they claimed to have only scheduled me a urine and not an ultra sounds. I had to schedule this appointment 3 weeks out and no one called me to inform me it was just a urine test. Who can’t afford a urine test from dollar tree? If someone’s making an appointment for a pregnancy test it’s to confirm with more then just peeing on a stick. They told me they couldn’t take me due to training issues and couldn’t even alter my appointment because the lady who confirmed it wrote me up wrong. The lasted appointment they could give me was 2 weeks out and I’d be far closer to my second trimester at that point. I’ve even confirmed my first pregnancy here and NEVER had this problem even after a urine test was positive they confirmed with an ultra sound directly afterwards. If I would have known any of this I would of scheduled with someone else weeks ago. Horrible horrible experience don’t waste your time here.
These people are disorganized and give you misinformation.I had a simple appointment - std screening - two different people attempted to take blood samples and could not. When they brought out a heating pad, to help my veins be more visible, I left.My appointment lasted over three hours. ?!I was told by three different people that my insurance covered the cost of my visit. Did not receive a bill from them. But over six months later saw a collection on my credit for planned parenthood. Not worth the time and energy spent! Find a real doctor with people who care!
Imagine going in for a triple biopsie on a Thursday morning and being told 3-4 business days for your results... come Tuesday late afternoon NO ONE has called so you wait on hold for hours, the callback system doesnt work, and you finally reach someone who says they have your results and WONT give them to you because theres no clinician tk read them. After 4 business days, 6 long anxious days in real life you have no idea if you have cancer or not because no one saw fit to call you.An absolute disgrace in patient care, common decency, and respect. 0 stars and if there is more I can to do to complain and ensure other families dont deal with this, rest assured I will.
Wish I could give a 0! The girl at the front needs customer service training, you wait for an hour on hold just to be told they can’t help. I love spending my money at this establishment because of what they do for women and I want to support that; however, this location in Colorado Springs lacks empathy or compassion, and apparently can’t offer a referrals to women in need that they can’t accomplish. Go ahead and shut this business down and let’s get another company in that WANTS to help. The little girl answering the phone is obviously not suited for this job! Switch up, there are plenty of people looking for jobs.
The lady at the front desk was really rude to me and my girlfriend and this was her first appointment and that was not very reassuring to her. I tried to use my insurance because my girlfriends parents were strict about birth control, and she gave me this whole lecture about fraud and the punishments following it, a simple no would be worked. She had red hair with sparkly strands. However, the nurse was super sweet and reassuring to her and made her feel very comfortable and very confident in her decision to go on birth control.
They turned me away instantly. I was getting help figuring out what was wrong with me since my period hasnt come, not pregnant. Im scared, uninsured, and dont know what to do. They were absolutely awful
I went in for my appointment at 1:50pm and I didn’t get out until 4:30 they only seen me for not even two mins to give me my medication. Other women in the waiting room were also complaining they had been waiting for over three hours for the same thing i was in for.
Me & my been going there for 5 years. They were constantly changing my teen daughters birth control every time we went in. Messed with her cycle & made her break out worse then before. I decided we would just go to an OBGYN. Filled out paperwork to have it sent to my new office. I did it a month & a half before my new appr. The new office never got it. I called Planned parenthood & they would not resend it. The lady on the phone was rude & not helpful. Told me to come in & get them. I told her I would be in to get them that day. When I went in they didnt have them ready. They said I would have to wait 2 hours to get them. I asked if I could come back in the morning & she said she wasnt sure if they would be ready THE NEXT DAY. Really??? Her name was Tez & she was extremely rude and was getting loud in the waiting room with me. Most everyone there has always been sweet & kind. This lady should not be answering phones or dealing with people.
They told me I was PREGNANT and I was not. No one told me they read me someone else’s test for weeks! They also wouldn’t take me off the birth control I was on until my 3rd appointment, months later due to availability, in which I had to BEG. I was having serious medical complications on this BC. I respect everyone has their own experience here but no one should have to go through what I went through due to their misinformation. Staff is undertrained but at least Ginny, my dr, was kind and very knowledgeable.
After reading all of these reviews I was prepared for the worst- I had little expectations and brought a book with me since I figured I’d be stuck waiting for hours. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The front staff, although quiet, was still very friendly. The nurse who took my vitals and blood and had to ask all the uncomfortable questions was so sweet and a joy to talk to. I never felt nervous or that I was in a situation I didn’t want to be in. The nurse practitioner was also bubbly and a joy to be around. I was out within an hour with testing and everything. Had a wonderful experience, thank you to everyone involved.
The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming which was very calming to me as this was the first time I had an IUD inserted. My nurse Alex was there with me every step of the way and held my hand. I would recommend going here for whatever you need. Don’t mind the protesters as they clearly are very narrow minded. Get that cheap birth control, STD screenings, whatever you need!
I was a little nervous after reading some reviews, and for other personal reasons, but my experience was nothing but positive here. Everyone who helped me was kind, and well informed. They made my appointment as easy as possible, and for that im so grateful. I scheduled my appoinment online, which was fast, and easy, so Id probably recommend that to anyone who is having trouble reaching them, though I never tried calling over the phone, so I cant speak on that front. I would confidently recommend this location to anyone.
I love this Planned Parenthood. Whenever I come here basically everyone is super nice. I got the same nurse the last two times Ive been there and she was really understanding and was only concerned with taking care of my needs the best she could and helped me pick out a good birth control method suited for me. I have never been to a doctors office where they make me feel so comfortable and open to talking about whats going on and have no awkwardness. If you wanna choose a planned parenthood office I recommend this one!
Went here for my girlfriends annual checkup and we were really impressed. Everyone is very kind inside and was knowledgeable about what they were talking about. Plus its got such comfortable artwork and resource inside
Very rude receptionist the 1st time I called. 2nd and 3rd time I had to call was on hold for nearly 30 mins each time. I can find a less busy obgyn.
Front Desk Girl is just nasty and Miserable, not helpful and doesnt have a brain. If you hate your life there go work some place else. Calling to make an appointment is impossible. The Call back option does not work. This is really unfortunate because the Provider who saw me was a DELIGHT! Professional and treated the whole patient, Physically, mentally, emotionally. She has a natural/homeopathic. She took time to educate and answer all questions. She was kind and compassionate. Provider gets all 5 stars, user friendly office negative.
They lie when they say they provide womens health care.In 2016 I called them in state of desperation, I had a really hard lump that was growing rapidly in the area of my uterus, causing me menstrual pain. I had no insurance and made too much money to receive Medicaid. I really needed help. They told me that unless I was pregnant, or thought I was pregnant, looking for birth control or an abortion that they couldnt/wouldnt help me.Less than a week later an 8.9 millimeters fibroid tumor ruptured almost killing me.They could have helped me but failed
Had my ultrasound here. They asked me multiple times in a row if I wanted to have an abortion after I told them no over and over. In just one visit.I returned to have an IUD put in after my pregnancy ended. They were scheduled a month out at least. I made an exception and took off work for my appointment. It was a really inconvenient for me anyways as I have a busy schedule and I work late nights. I showed up for my implant and they had me scheduled for the pill. So they could not see me for implant. I had already waited an hour in the lobby for them to tell me this. I walked out immediately. Completely unorganized and understaffed. Its no wonder we only have two of these places in the state of Colorado
Ali and the staff at Planned Parenthood make things so easy. I felt nothing less than accepted and comfortable during the duration of my visit. They let me ask as many questions as I needed and clarified any concerns. Thank you all so very much.
Worst experience ever! Not only did the whole waiting room hear why I was in there(after waiting an hour after my appointment time) they would not let my fiance back with me. And they were completely willing to put a stranger next to me and talk to me so he could hear everything that was going on. Not only that I had to set up a completely different appointment for birth control and that was part of the reason I was already there. The rep on the phone understood that but there office couldnt. Not only that I was never seen by an actual doctor not that I would want to after she was willing to let this stranger hear all of my personal information.the woman was rude didnt answer any of my questions at all. Also while checking out the ladys behind the desk had no issue discussing another patients file. I dont want to know there personal info like they dont want to know mine. I want my questions to be answered and if anyone is going to know my personal info but my fieance not a complete stranger. Extremely uncomfortable! Worst ever do not go there your better of going to a real doctor that cares.
I like going to this clinic, the primary care provider and her assistant were very nice! The clinic is very clean and the wait time is fast. But there is two women who work at the front desk and they are very rude! The are very short with you and give you dirty looks. I was waiting for the women to find a pharmacy close the my house, she was being very rude. Then when she was done she didnt bother to say Youre all set or have a nice day. I was just standing there for 3 mins thinking she wasnt done and then she looks up at me with a dirty look and stairs at me! I asked if that was it and she said yea.
Not worth the stress. After several attempts at calling I couldnt get ahold of anyone ahead of time to determine cost for self-pay. I was told at check-in the cost for the exam and asked to be told of additional charges beyond the exam. Unbeknownst to me the wellness exam doesnt include the basics, you still need the most critical part of a womens wellness exam - breast exam and pap! I was not told about additional charges when I explicitly asked to be, and I waited on hold for over 15 minutes on many phone calls for no one to answer and couldnt get all the details prior. Be careful about cost and what is actually included. Id have skipped the exam and just gone in for a pap or not at all and saved a lot of money.
I absolutely despise going in for my check ups. My last exam was a year and a half ago at a different clinic, and I was worried that Planned Parenthood would male me do an exam again. Thankfully, I was able to talk with someone about my last visit and they prescribed me with birth control that day (it varies per person. If you need an exam, you should get one). It was a relief. The staff was nice and I was in and out of the clinic and even without insurance, birth control was not as expensive. Thanks Planned Parenthood.
This was voted the most toxic planned parenthood in the country. Cos deserves better.
Jennie is great. My pap and follow up appointments were uncomfortable as to be expected, but Jennie and the staff made it is as comfortable as they could for me. Christina even held my hand. Say what you want about Planned Parenthood, they take good care of me.
I went to get an iud at planned parenthood and the staff made me feel so comfortable. I was very nervous and of course feeling some discomfort but the nurse and doctor made the process so easy and so much better by helping me breathe and making me as comfortable as possible. Definitely recommend going here for birth control or general checkups!
I had a 10:30 A.M appointment and arrived on time. They made everyone stand in line to check in and I waited for 50 minutes. When I arrived at the counter the lady said it’s 50 minutes past my appointment time and so they do not have time to see me anymore. Considering I arrived on time and had to wait in their check in line for 50 minutes, I ask what the lady recommended I had done. She said that I should’ve arrived at least 30 minutes before my appointment time, instead of just the advised 10. I had to waste practically an hour of my time for their ineptitude and then get blamed for it because apparently I should’ve known it would take them an hour past my appointment time to check me in.
Constantly cancel appointments. Reschedule for 2-3 months and then cancel again and keep kicking appointment down the road. Dont know how you can stay in business with such poor customer service.
I had an appointment at 10:40 and wasnt seen until 12:00 while new people coming in got seen before me! Then I waited another half hour, went up to the counter to ask whats taking so long getting my prescription and the lady sitting next to the gal I was talking to said, shes just going to have to sit & wait until her prescription is ready...only to be told 5 minutes later, sorry your prescription was ready, we just didnt know you were waiting. Very unorganized & quite rude staff and theres no point in even making an appointment.
Completely unprofessional and unable to manage even the simplest tasks (such as accurate scheduling). I have continued to try to use planned parenthood when possible in an effort to support this organization; unfortunately, I have switched to a different provider after the second occurrence of scheduling an appointment with them, requesting time off work, and then being told they don’t have me on the schedule. Clearly, the capacity at which they function is not at the standard of real medical facilities and not intended for business professionals. I won’t be returning, and I may very well cease donating to this organization.
Sadly I have to agree with most of the reviews. Went here last year for the first time and made an appointment for Saturday at 9:15 a.m. I was the ONLY one in the waiting room for about 30 minutes, then 2 more people came in, walk-ins only since you can hear everybodys business, one person was called ahead of me then I was after 10:00 a.m ok fine whatever I thought, had a routine exam and the nurse who helped me was sooooo sweet and nice, told me to ask for her anytime, since I told her I was new to the state and didnt have a primary doctor yet so I thought ok great. I called TODAY to schedule another routine appointment and requested the nurse I had and was told we cant schedule you with a specific provider, you get whoevers on staff that day. Huh? What kind of mess is that? No way to do business, I stick to the same person and should be able to so the extra star is for the friendliness of the nurse I had but I do agree with other reviews to not make this place for a primary OBGYN if you have insurance, which I do.
If you have the option to go to an obgyn please do that. I had an iud placed and was having troubles and severe pain. When I called the first time to make an appointment it wasn’t for a month and a half… then I tried to call again and their phone system was broken. I had to pled for an obgyn to take me in without a referral because I couldn’t contact planned parenthood.
I’m shocked at the amount of unprofessionalism. I don’t think any women deserves the level of care i received. If I knew I was going to sit in a room on a telephone and tell the nurse that didn’t seem to care at all my symptoms your healthcare providers and it showed she didn’t care at all. Honestly women if your going in for routine women’s health pick a different clinic or gynecologist. I ended up paying for an appointment at planned parenthood and also leaving and going to urgent care since I was concerned about the incompetency..
I had an appointment for birth control and I waited for about 25 minutes then they took my into a room to take my blood pressure and ask questions. Now I get it for 9 months! No hassle! Quick and easy. I just want to address that there are protesters at the entrance on centennial and there is a second entrance to avoid them.
I had to go in for a termination this week. My daughter had severe chromosome issues, heart defects, fluid everywhere and about a 90% chance she’d pass before birth. My insurance wouldn’t cover it so planned parenthood was my only option. Everyone I met with was so kind and compassionate. They took their time answering all of my questions, and gave me lots of info and resources to go home with for support. We had protestors yelling at us as we drove by and I wish they knew how much we wanted to keep our precious girl but she was just too sick. I’m so grateful Planned Parenthood exists and provides affordable services for terminations as well as regular gynecological care for those who are insured.
Ive been waiting 2 months for my appointment. I gave them a Colorado address, Colorado medicaid card, and called a Colorado number. They set me an appointment in Nevada. If I ever become that stupid please kill me.
I just recently had an appointment with Plan Parenthood and was completely upset with the visit. Ive been going here for five years and never experienced such rude behavior from the doctor and the intake personal. I felt judged with their side comments and exasperated sigh. I come to Plan Parenthood with the idea that we can be open and speak freely about out personal lives and get the care we need without judgement or frustration. Very disappointed.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! They charged me $130 for a 3 minute phone call for a prescription refill. Charged it as an office visit. Won’t even work with me to change code so that my insurance will pay the bill. Horrible customer service from McKenzie. She kept talking over me and would not let me finish a sentence.
Went in due to a misscarry, and need help passing the baby (my doctor office wouldnt help) got told some exciting news in urtal sound, that baby was actually alive. They gave me so much information. And help me find a new high risk obgyn. Went back even a 2nd time just to do a follow up and they answered every question for me and where so helpful and respectful. Was such a good experience. Thankful for them.
I completely agree with the review lately. Was just there with my fiancee and they would not allow me in the back but set a strange man next to her in the back rooms. This was the worst planned parenthood. They know absolutely nothing and waited 2 hours for them to not tell us anything new. Go to a real doctor stay away from here.
Amazing staff, very caring. So attentive to all my needs and made sure I was comfortable, all my concerns were heard and handled with grace. Thank you for the amazing care you provided and treating me with such kindness :)
Just trying to reschedule for a check due to my new work schedule, but still after a couple days no call back cause I did the save your place in line and even when I try to call no one answers, but I have called since then, so I gave up calling them today. Guess they will know why I didn’t show now with this if they read these. Not very happy since I’ve been trying to get a hold of them since I made the appointment about a week ago.
For Planned Parenthoods, this has busted through the bottom of the barrel. I made my appointment 2 months in advance and then called in to confirm it the day before. I got there 20min early and the girl behind the counter said I was 20min late! So she could only put me down as a walk-in. Theyve installed 1 lexan, a giant metal door to the waiting room and theyve hired a thug with an AR, and you would think all that extra protection patient care and safety is #1, but no, its not. The nurses and doctors discuss your Private health info in front of everyone in the waiting room. If Id been smart, I would have read the reviews first! Dont go here if you can avoid it!
This is probably the most laxidacical business Ive ever stepped foot inside of. Our appointment was called ahead of time and scheduled for 9:30am 5/22/15 it is now 11:15am and my fiancé has only been taken back for an ultrasound thus far. Upon asking why other patients who were here AFTER us are taking priority we were told is was strange we sat around in the waiting room for an hour before they graced us with an ultrasound. Your company is willing to provide a service but lack human empathy. If a spouse wants their partner to remain with them during whatever procedure theyre here for they SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BE RIGHT BESIDE THEM. The fact they dont bother to consider this fact tells me theyre scum.
Waited in the lobby for a good hour after my apt time. Not including I showed up 15 mins early. Went and got pulled in. The dr was super cool, got a prescription for birth control. Paid 54$ for the visit and the prescription, they said they sent it to the Walmart pharmacy on woodmen. And id be able to pick it up in a few hours. Called Walmart they HAD NOT received anything. I legit paid 54$ for nothing. Now Im stuck waiting till Monday to call planned parent hood back so they can resend the prescription. I have called that Walmart multiple times to check and see if it was received and they have no record. Super irritating.
Made an appt and checked in 15 min prior to my appt. More than an hour later, still waiting on a Tuesday mid morning with 3 people in the lobby (when I came in). Being on time and early wont serve you here at this organization it seems. I made the mistake of choosing PPH for my blood work check up. I should have done it through Quest. This is just the wrong place to come for folks who want to get perfunctory health items done if you have proper health insurance. Maybe its a good choice for folks who dont have insurance and funds for care, but definitely not for the rest of the folks. Learned the hard way.On the good side, the front desk staff was nice.
I had an appointment for 12:15 and waited almost 8 hours to be seen by a doctor. The staff wasnt very friendly and the whole experience was awful, not that coming here is ever a good thing, but this was just terrible. I will gladly drive to Denver if that one is any better, if I ever have to come here again.
Making my appointment was fast and easy. My wait time was a little long but I dont mind that. The ladies and nurses who helped me and talked to me were very knowledgeable and helpful. Support planned parenthood!
It was incredibly easy to make an appointment online. Everyone at their office was great! Its so sad and frustrating that the security measures they have in place are necessary. Im very thankful for PP 🙏
Whoever they let answer the phone needs to be firedI called to schedule a pelvic exam and was told by the little girl that answers the phone in a very rude tone that they dont do that therePlanned Parenthood doesnt do pelvic exams???Since when
Worst experience i have ever had. I understand this is nonprofit but they really need to get their stuff in order. No organization and no one knows how to answer questions. Prices arent even that reasonable. It cost me the same to have more done at a local OBGYN. Honestly this establishment is a joke.
I have serious health issues, so Im in and out of doctors offices and hospitals multiple times of year. This place hands down is the most professional and welcoming health clinic I have ever been to! The staff go above and beyond to help answer any questions I have!
Dr. Jennings was amazing and answered / addressed all my questions and concerns. She was very down to earth which helped me because I was nervous. The rest of the staff were fantastic, too!
Waited 3 hours as a walk in patient just for the nurse to tell me that she called me 3 times and I didnt answer, although, I was sitting in the waiting room entire 3 hours. She informed me that she was sorry however, she had to remove me from the list. Super stellar service! After being a customer for some years, I will take my business elsewhere.
Nice staff helped me out. But the protesters are annoying. I feel harassed by them everytime I go there. When I got home I noticed a nail in my tire. They could of easily thrown it out there.
I have been trying to get them to fax over my prescription for a week a now. 😰 everyday i call wait for almost an hour to talk to someone to be told they will definately do it in a few hours. No birthcontrol still.
Worst Ive ever been to. The doctor was completely rude to me and judgey. They LOST my drivers license and called me a liar when I said it was never given back to me. 2 months later its in my mailbox. Guess I wasnt lying after all?
Had a 2 oclock appointment, got there 10 min early sat there for 40 min before asking how long until I see the doctor and was told 4oclock. That should be something that is mentioned by the receptionist when checking in. One doctor was on staff and they booked enough people for 2 doctors. If there were supposed to be 2 doctors call half the patents and reschedule not try and fit everyone in knowing its not going to be possible. Plan accordingly if you are going here these people dont care about you just want as many people in and out as possible.
Professional and efficient. I wish all medical care was set up like this, with specialized easy to access clinics. Planned Parenthood does a great job of knowing BC in depth.
I came here to get on birth control for the first time. I did not get any information what so ever of how it needs to be used and when it will be effective the young lady that took care of me did not explain and now here I am doing my own re search on things that should have been covered by them. I do not recommend this place and am highly disappointed.
Just called to schedule an appointment and the lady was rude. She gave me no information on what I needed done. I had a couple options and she didn’t even explain them to me. Idk if I should cancel or not. I don’t think I should trust this place.
Everything from making my appointment to seeing the doctor, went so smoothly. All the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Overall, Im extremely satisfied with my experience.
I think its ridiculous to Schedule appointments for 9 am when you didnt open till 9 am its now 934 and Im still waiting in the waiting room. 6 people showed up at The same time and they just help in random order... Stupid way to do business.
Both visits staff was not very helpful, or thoughtful to the circumstances. This might as well be any other drug store. The only help they want to give is taking your money.
This place is a joke. I was told that a bill from last year was taken care of and now I’m getting a call from collections….. I’m really upset. Know one knows what they are talking about. I’ve been around the ringer and been told different things from different people. So frustrating!
Went here to get nexplanon about a week ago, I have a fear of needles and the staff was very accommodating of this. I didnt have to wait too long and was in and out quickly
This was a horrible experience I really wouldnt recommend this place. Something simple that should have been done at the end of the day on 10/11 is still not been done. Called yesterday again was post to be sent in hr well 17 later still not done smh. Some people here could have some compassion hell even a smile would help.
I was really nervous about coming in from another state & the hole staff was very nice & welcoming & answered all my questions five starts thank u guys
Wait too long for simple things... Always understaffed it seems. Says it will be a few minutes, then next thing you know youre waiting for half an hour while they try to track down a nurse just to sign a form. Ridiculous...
Got a copper IUD today, and it was very quick and the staff was incredibly sweet. Highly recommend, thank you!! ☺️
This place offers false services for any women that is looking for an abortion they don’t offer none of that but what your regular doctor can do place is horrible very unhelpful asked me personal questions just to tell me they don’t do those services when there website says it does
Loved the doctor when I finally saw her 35mins past my appt time, front staff were rude and unorganized took 30mins to check me out so I could pay.
Ladies at the front desk are respectful and friendly however if you try making an appointment over the phone it’s such a hassle, you’ll be waiting over an hour just for someone to pick up the phone.
Had a termination and was well taken care of. Even got an iud placed at the same time! Great staff and cleam facility
Not sure what the point of having an appointment is here? Appointment at 430pm.. we arrive at 415...and didnt get called back until 515!!!
This is the worst planned parenthood I’ve been to in Colorado with customer service and wait time. No matter if you make an appointment or walk in you will still have an hour wait.
Wait times arent usually too bad. I get what I need, but staff is unbearably rude, as they are at every PP Ive ever been to.
Everyone here was so so sweet and helpful. The environment was welcoming and the staff were on top of it.
Very nice and clean facility. Staff is always willing to help, birth control prescriptions always ready, very informative as well.
Amazing team and staff to make your experience amazing! Super informative about whatever procedure you’re in to get and super kind, friendly and respectful.
Great experience getting copper IUD! Very nice staff, was worried because of reviews but 10/10
Always respectful and caringThe guard must be bored, to walk out to a far patch of shade in a basically empty parking lot to tell me I was blocking traffic while waiting to be called in.
Never have any problems with anything staff are always very nice and pleasant. Its not a hassle to make an appointment either
I had a great experience here. Got the services I needed and the nurses/staff were all great!
They were very kind and didnt make me feel dumb for asking questions. They really care about making sure all questions are answered and that youre taken care of.
Whoever answered the phone just now 11/11 12:18pm was so kind and helpful! Thank you!!
Tried to get ahold of them for days with no luck. Guess I’ll be driving all the way to Denver to go to a different Planned Parenthood.
This place is terrible beyond words. Allowing people to take the life of an innocent blessing from God is devastating!!!!
Very helpful in all needs. The bad reviwrs for this place make jo sense to me as thr staff is friendly. The site is very clean and overall a great place
The staff is very kind and professional. They provide important healthcare to the community.
Thank you for always being an option for womans health. Staff has always been amazing!
Unprofessional and unkind people. These people price gouge their patients. Where do the funded dollars go people???
They are the greatest people I know! 30 years later
Called multiple times. Decided too wait it out too figure they take 30 minutes too answer. Should try n fix that.
Staff friendly, but appointment times are not kept or even attempted to be kept.
Theyve done everything I needed. Dont see a problem at all.
This place is awesome. Super efficient for all my family planning needs!
Never felt more like a specimen than at this clinic.
I have been waiting 3 hours for someone to answer. Still currently on hold
Overpriced. It shouldnt cost $120 to have a doctor write a prescription for antibiotics.
Thank you! I will always support Planned Parenthood
Very helpful. especially with the street view. thank you Google.
Answering phone service is broken. unable to make appt. through phone.
Great place that helps underprivileged women with medical care.
Terrible.
Theyre great and very professional
The staff are kind and professional
Good place to have. With good people
Birth Control for only $25/mo.
Is very goodExlen
Employees are creepy...
Everyone was super friendly. The nurse practitioner did an amazing job at removing my nexplanon implant and i didn’t feel anything. I loved my visit here. :)
