Dr. Johnston and her team are absolutely AMAZING. It is thanks to them we finally after so many years have our little one. I had nothing but an excellent experience with the entire staff. Dr. Johnston connected with us on our silly love of Halloween and metal music, kept us laughing after our transfer. I think that made all the difference. Everyone is caring and so supportive. We will be returning to have a second baby when we are ready!!

So incredibly thankful for Dr. Johnston and the entire Shady Grove team. From day 1 I felt comfortable and understood. Dr. Johnston immediately was relatable and understanding, but also efficient and direct. Fertility treatment is a terrifying experience and I am thankful for her guidance though it all. I hope to not have to use her services again but if I do, there is no doubt I will return to Dr. Johnston and her team. She made our dream a reality. Dr. Johnston truly is amazing. She always takes the time to listen and build a relationship. I never feel like I am rushed during appointments. My husband and I have really enjoyed having her as our doctor. Extremely knowledgeable as well!

Dr. Johnston is an absolutely wonderful fertility specialist. She has a way of explaining each step of the process to prevent you from feeling overwhelmed during what can be a really difficult journey. Dr. Johnston truly cares about her patients well beyond the normal doctor-patient dynamic. I’d recommend her to absolutely anyone needing assistance in growing their family.

I couldn’t have asked for better care on our journey to forming the one thing my husband and I have been trying for for nearly 3 years - a baby. Dr. Johnston and her clinical team have been extremely helpful with all steps from the day I started speaking with them. Everyone from Dr. Johnston to the financial department and the clinical care team has tried to make our journey has stress free as possible because they are aware that things can become rough going through procedures for infertility. While going through many of the aspects I was always contacted by the clinical care team, or Dr. Johnston personally, within that business day for next steps. The office always worked well with me with scheduling appointments since I live closer to the Norfolk office than the Richmond offices. Going into our journey I was somewhat nervous that I wasn’t closer to Dr. Johnston, but she promised me that she would be the captain of my ship no matter where I was receiving care and she held that promise throughout the duration of our journey. Dr. Johnston and her team truly care about their patients and strive for the best outcome and you feel that from the get-go. I would recommend Dr. Johnston and Shady Grove any day!

I worked with Dr. Johnson- MacAnanny until my husband and I moved to NC and were forced to find another clinic closer to us. I loved working with Dr. Johnson and think she has some of the best bedside manner Ive ever experienced with a doctor. You can tell she truly enjoys what she does and cares about her patients. I still recommend her to people that we know in the RVA area. Excellent doctor!

My experience with Dr. Johnston has been amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable, caring, takes the time to answer questions, and has a wonderful sense of humor. It is so important to be able to trust ones doctor, and I certainly can say that I trusted her advice at all times.

I couldn’t be more thankful for the help of Dr. Johnston at Shady Grove Fertility. After two heartbreaking early miscarriages, Dr. Johnston was very thorough in determining the cause of my losses. Not only Shady Grove, but Dr. Johnston-MacAnanny specifically, completely changed our lives as we are now 27 weeks pregnant! The whole process of going to a fertility clinic after years of difficult days trying to conceive was overwhelming and scary until our first appointment. From the first consult and through the whole process, we felt supported, cared for, and like Dr. Johnston-MacAnanny was truly in our corner. She is patient with questions and concerns and was also a comic relief during certain topics which we loved since joking always makes hard situations feel a little easier! I cant recommend her enough if you are going to Shady Grove and if we decide to try for a 2nd child, we will be calling her!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Dr. Johnston. From day one, she showed empathy, care and expertise. My husband and I felt heard and supported 100 percent. Dr. Johnston was amazing! She was so kind and helpful. She took the time to learn about my husband and I and explained everything so well. Everyone the office was incredibly kind and patient as we learned to navigate this new medical world. I was so nervous before the appointment, but Dr. Johnston answered all my questions and I trust her plan for us.

Dr. Johnston was able to help detect why we weren’t having pregnancy success and form a plan to achieve a healthy pregnancy. We are forever grateful that she helped give us hope and was there every step of the way. She is very personable and made us incredibly comfortable in such a hard situation.

When my husband and I came to Shady Grove Infertility we were coming from another infertlity clinic that was far away and just couldnt seem to give us the answers we needed. When we met with Dr. Johnston, we loved her bedside manner and how relatable she was. We are now officially on the other side of this and fortunately are almost 10 weeks pregnant. We are so grateful for all that Shady Grove did for us. Their staff are stellar, so caring, so wonderful and easy to work with. I didnt want to leave them because I knew we wouldnt get the special love and attention that they gave us at our normal OB. Dr. Johnston is great! She always makes my boyfriend and I feel comfortable with asking any concerns or questions we have. The nurses on her staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are always timely when responding to my questions via the patient portal. I genuinely feel like she cares about my healthcare goals.

Just No! When SGF first came to RVA she was good but since then she has been horrible. 2 years of miscarriage trying for baby#2 because she refused to listen to me waisted 3 5aa embryos. Switched Drs within SGF within 2 months Im pregnant. Her nurses were rude and she never checked in like my new Dr. SGF is great but some Drs stick to the old school way of thinking instead of listening to their patients. 4xfers and she never xfer 1 embryo with us. We was with her from 2019-2022.

Dr. Johnston-MacAnnany is an absolute dream. She is the intelligent, honest, warm and supportive doctor that I had hoped to find on our journey. She brought so much encouragement and hope on our long infertility path. So thankful for her and the Richmond team at SFG. We can never thank her enough for helping make our dream come true!
