I am disappointed. I think I went with an expectation that Music City PrEP Clinic (MCPC) would be passionate about changing the face of healthcare in Nashville and providing access to biomedical interventions and services for sexual health and wellness. I was wrong.I had the absolute worse experience. Upon arriving to Music City PrEP Clinic Nashville. The customer service is probably the worst I have ever seen from the greeting to the check in.When I booked my appointment, I did not have my insurance card on me at the time so I entered in the insurance information and scheduled the appointment. When I arrived the very snappy and rude woman behind the counter never greeted me and then proceeded to ask for my date of birth. After providing my date of birth she was able to see that I had an appointment. She asked me for my ID as well as my insurance card. I handed her my ID and at the same time I stated that I did not have a physical card. She asked if I had the Digital Card. I informed her for some reason I wasnt able to login to the app to provide the digital card however, I had the Insurance Provider, Subscriber ID and the phone number for the Insurance Provider as I had just spoken with them. She stated again that she needed the Insurance Card or I couldnt be seen. I asked if she could call the insurance provider to verify she said No, and if they saw me and the insurance declined it would cause a problem. She asks for the card again. I said I can call them let me see if maybe they can speak to them over the phone. She says well I see the Subscriber ID you provided it didnt verify so yeah Ill need the Insurance Card. At this point she has said it so much that I started to question in my head, well what if I didnt have Insurance? Do they not accept patients who do not have insurance who may need this critical service? I then remembered that on the website when I did the appointment it said FREE HIV Testing, so even if my insurance card wasnt with me you would think they would still do Free HIV Testing rather than turning away potential clients or even someone who may have had good reason for being in their clinic.I am being fairly nice in how I am speaking of my experience, but had you been there to hear her going back and forth with me for 8 minutes you would be just as confused.Aside from all of this, I am a State Elected Official and I fight for people to have access to healthcare and I just felt that a clinic of this kind would go above and beyond to not turn away a life that has entered in the facility. I wouldnt recommend this clinic. As I am sitting in my car typing this, I am going to call my insurance company again and see if maybe they can fax them something since I cant access the app, since they wouldnt call my insurance provider, and since I didnt have a physical insurance card. We will see, but my hope is that someone else is at the front counter when I go back in because this experience has left me disheartened, concerned that also others who may not be as patient or aware of healthcare as me may come here and be turned away as I was. There has to be a PrEP provider in Tennessee doing this well — it just isnt Music City PrEP Clinic Nashville.Let me end by saying we must continue to hold organizations and businesses accountable for how they treat those who visit them. Even if they may appear to be supporters of the communities you are apart of, no one is above treating people with kindness.
I would give this place 50 stars instead of 5! Had the most wonderful experience today. The employees were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I’ve had some bad experiences with treatment as someone who has no medical insurance at other places… but Dr E explained everything! She was very thorough and answered the questions I had with zero judgment and such an upbeat attitude! Love the vibe of this place! 100/10 would absolutely go back!
Kudos to staff for making everyone feel comfortable. They are very kind. This is first time I had opportunity to speak to LGBTQ friendly doctors. They answered all my questions without judgement and I am very thankful to them. This is a wonderful place.
Unfortunately, this started as a great idea and practice but over the last year services have greatly declined. They’ve had exceptional growth and sadly they haven’t taken the time to implement a Change Management plan. The customer service has greatly declined as well! In fact, I had to report one individual who was very snappy and curt. Then, yesterday, I was waiting over 30 mins to see a provider. What’s the point of telemedicine and appointments if you all will not honor them. It’s one thing to keep a person updated while they hold, it’s another to completely leave someone in the dark for 30 mins. Lastly, I know this is not Music City’s fault, buttttt, at first I didn’t have to pay and now (because of Trump) I pay out of pocket. Soooooo honestly, I might as well go through my PCP. If you’re desperate or if you don’t have insurance then this is the place for you. Otherwise, don’t waste your time! Do better Music City, you have dropped the ball. (P.S. I took about a 6 month break from Music City bc of my last incident with a disgruntled service representative. I resumed care yesterday and waited on a conference call for a provider who never showed before finally ending the call) Another one bites the dust….
Amazing staff. They have different ways to contact them. First time using text messages to schedule my appointment thats how easy it is!. They responded quickly to my text messages even in holidays. It is very easy to schedule your appointment even in a short time notice. Clean and organized facilitie. Doctors will give you the whole time you need to listen to you, care and excellent to explain any of my concerns. Highly recommended.
I have been a patient with Music City PrEP’s PrEP program for the past two years and had my most recent appointment last December. Music City PrEP claims to cover their patient’s PrEP bills, so when I received my expected lab bill for my visit I uploaded it to the Bill Slayer portal but then kept getting lab bills for this appointment. I continued to upload my bills to Bill Slayer but it has now gotten to the point where Lab Corp is threatening to send me to collections.I have sent numerous emails to Music City PrEP and left voicemails but have received no response. I feel like I’m racing against the clock of being sent to collections and having my credit affected while being completely ignored by Music City PrEP.I have exhausted every method to contact them and have been completely disregarded.
Today was my first visit with my spouse and we were very happy about the staff from the beginning front desk and medical staff. 10+ 10 🌟 10 🔹
The waiting room is very welcoming and comfortable. The exam rooms are clean and private (well insulated walls so you cant hear conversations in other rooms). Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff with no stigma or judgement. Highly, highly recommend this place.
Changed to this facility for my primary care. I had my first visit a few days ago. I am beyond happy with the care that was provided- fromWhen I walked into the building, my appointment with the physician Dr. sharpe, and leaving the facility. I would recommend to anyone, family and loved one. I am very happy with my experience. I am so blessed that I found this place!
I was actually shocked how great every aspect was. Booked an apt for a couple days out. After some paperwork I was sent back almost immediately. Had to see 3 different ppl during the trip and did not wait more than 5 minutes in between each meeting. In and out, easily.
The staff is incredibly friendly. Theyre very thorough and its probably one of the best consultations with a physician of ever been through. I highly recommend this.
I use to like this place. Once they changed locations evrything changed. Quality of care, customer service sucks, you can never get an appointment in a timely manner and worst thing is most of the staff is rude here now where before they weren’t. I will no longer go here for my needs because I don’t feel the staff or establishment cares like they do. Nashville cares does free testing for all STD’s by the way if anyone needs to chose them instead of this horrible music city prep clinic. I would kill to go back to the old property instead of this horrible new one on east Nashville,
Welcoming vibes. None of my other doctors or facilities I have to use are so welcoming or LGBTQ friendly so this was refreshing. Glad my PCP is settling in here. I cant compare it to the old location, but I can compare it to where *I* used to be seen and I appreciate it.
They never make you feel judged or stigmatized for ANYTHING. They are incredibly quick and efficient with everything. You’ll check in, speak with the NP, get blood work, the routine tests, and be out in 40 minutes. Incredible!
Amazing company and great staff!!!! Highly recommend. They will alway make you feel welcomed.
The most professional medical service I have ever received. Most would think that a clinic is a dark and seedy place, but Music City Prep Clinic was a breath of fresh air, designed with quality and service in mind to provide service to you, before you even walk through the door. When you set up the appointment, you are walked through every step of the process with a thoughtful progression towards a life unhindered by the fear of the shadows that follow you as your pursue moments of pleasure and excitement.Did you know that nurses and doctors utilize their free services to combat against HIV; a once terrifying disease that is now as managable as keeping your annoying and anxious dog away from those who knock at your door? One pill a day, and the fear of contracting an annoying medical routine can be replaced with a magical pill. The doctors and nurses there are ready to explain every aspect of your care and medical concerns and take the time to get to know you, which is more than I can say for a lot of other medical facilities I have had to deal with in the past. They provide you with medication through the mail through a pharmacy that provides funding for their endeavors; a business that truly provides for the clientele rather than perpetuating disorders for financial gain. It is the beacon of hope we have all been searching for in the medical community and I cannot stress enough how amazing it is to feel cared for when dealing with the fear of contraction HIV, which has had such a negative stigma associated, unnecessarily.Their presence and their business should be a lesson to the world.
I love every experience I have with MCPC. I have been seeing them for years now.
Always nice and super communicative! Could not speak more highly of them.
Really nice people, they were very clean and organized. Such a warm atmosphere! I would definitely recommend!
Friendly staff and clean space. Convenient location.
Got me sitting here( 45 mins and counting) while they keep bringing in others and helping them before me..
Best experience everr. I’m so appreciative that I came upon this gem
Easier than expected! Really caring staff and non-profit. Go get your status! 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿
The patient portal and appt system is pretty much useless.
Made me feel really uncomfortable
Non judgement zone
