Miguel was so wonderful in helping me set up my appointment! He was very thorough, patient and understanding. My entire experience was so easy, smooth and very comfortable from setting up my appointment to my actual appointment with Viviana. I 100% recommend everyone to check out Southwest Center and all the resources they have to offer the community! Thank you so much for providing great care and service to the people of our community!
Excellent, prompt care. Easy to get an appointment. The staff was friendly, helpful and time conscious. The physician was kind, competent and quick to find resources.I highly recommend the Southwest Center for your healthcare needs. They offer primary care free of judgement and excessive billing.
The staff here do NOT care about their patients they blamed me for no showing even though their staff messed up and scheduled me on a day they were closed. Only go here if theyre your only option. Couldnt even admit there was a mistake on their end. I was told the time I scheduled my appointment would be fine. Thats not my fault the person I spoke with was wrong.
Please be aware they are NOT an open-access clinic and they are very strict on appointment times. I do not live convenient to the central Phoenix area and arrived 12 minutes late for my DoxyPEP eval appointment and was turned away. I found another clinic that does walk-in’s at the Walgreens off Central and Osborn. DoxyPEP is a time-sensitive medication and as a medical professional myself, I know it is not patient-centered to turn away someone who is seeking a preventive medication that protects both the person who takes it and the community at large. To even get this appointment was difficult as I tried scheduling online and was called back, then when I tried to return that call I sat on hold multiple days and was routed to voicemail. Finally I reached someone and was told I would get a call-back and never did. In addition as a philanthropic donor to Southwest Center I was very displeased with my experience here as of late. Something has changed in their philosophy. An LGBT clinic that receives the level of AHCCCS and federal funding that SW Center does should have available open-access slots each day for walk-in appointments for something as simple as DoxyPEP. If you are able to utilize this clinic for its open-access services, such as MonkeyPox vaccine, etc. then I would recommend it, however it is on you to validate their service offering. Their medical staff seem way more attentive than their front-office.
Rebecca was one of the best team members ive had the luck to work with as a patient! She was absolutely caring, kind, hard worker, truly cares for us as patients. She has a big heart and this is an absolutely amazing job for her to be at!
Southwest Center used to be a great place to go, but in all honesty, I have swapped away from them due to an involuntarily swap(aka my old providers quit) to a provider who doesnt seem to have the empathy required in this field: Heather Taylor. I know shes experienced and such and maybe thats made her jaded, but two experiences have reinforced my opinion and I cannot recommend her to anyone other than the most desperate in need of gender affirming care.Experience 1(aka the reason I swapped to another provider for hormones): In around March of this year, I dropped all of my pills(Progesterone) out behind my toilet(which admittedly was a bit dirtier than it should have been). I called Southwest Center, hoping for a new prescription, accepting that insurance probably wouldnt cover it. I was correct in that assumption, but before I even had a chance to figure that out, Heather Taylor refused to provide another fill of the prescription. When I called to ask for why, I was told of the universal office policy of not refilling hormones before they were normally due so that patients couldnt abuse them. When I told them that I could bring the dirty pills in to prove I wasnt abusing them, they said that would not change their mind. When I asked how I would take my medication, they said something along the lines of We cant recommend you take dirty medication, but we also cant prescribe you more which is essentially them telling me that ill be without hormones for a month(also read as involuntarily partially detransitioning)I complained to someone in charge about their policy, who let it slip that it was actually up to the providers discretion whether they made exceptions to that rule which Heather Taylor did not. To clarify, I have NO issues in the past which would indicate I am in danger of abusing the medication. How did I eventually resolve this issue? I went to CVS Minute Clinic and got a one-time refill. The person there had the necessary empathy for working in the Healthcare field that Heather Taylor seemed not to.Experience 2(aka why I am writing this review):I have sought a referral for an orchiectomy through Southwest Center. I got it, no problem. Now fast forward to the first week of June. I miss an appointment that they didnt warn me about that I had no knowledge of(I guess they scheduled it without my knowledge?). I decide to call everything good and stop going to Southwest Center since I now have another hormone provider after the last debacle. My new provider started seeing me a couple of months ago and I didnt want to ask her for a referral letter for an orchiectomy, so I contact Southwest Center in hopes that I could see them once to check in on my condition and that my 18 months of being a patient(14 months when they referred me for an orchiectomy) would speak as to my fitness for the procedure. Heather Taylor refuses, saying she needs to establish a more consistent patient relationship to write a letter. But she referred me earlier and I was willing to go in and see them to make sure nothing significant had changed in the 1 month since my missed appointment. I figure this is due to experience number 1 souring our provider-patient relationship(as I complained about her to the Southwest Center, which obviously didnt do much), because, again, an orchiectomy is a normal gender affirming procedure and SHE REFERRED ME TO A SPECIALIST FOR IT. But no letter because I recently swapped providers away. Cool.TL;DR Stay away unless you have no choice, and if you have to use them, stay away from Heather Taylor. She isnt empathetic and is unreasonable.
I wouldnt recommend for gender nonconforming trans care.I moved to the area recently and needed to set up a place for hormones, I see the Southwest Center being LGBTQIA+ friendly. Im nonbinary and am on both E and T, but they will only give you one or the other. They just refused citing policy, and the provider told me taking T topically is unsafe?? Huh??The same provider said to me on another appointment, while talking about if anything could effect my levels, I suggested, it could be vaginal estrogen to which she replied well its not real vaginal tissue so that really wouldnt matter the medical director was also in the room and nodded. Great! 😃Im done with the place. Its only good for sti/std testing, local resources, and free condoms. Its probably good to you if youre cis and gay. Maybe a binary transperson, but idk.
Going to an affirming clinic for medical care is legit a night and day experience. I always leave here feeling listened to and taken care of. There is truly no judgement and every interaction is magical.
A place with multiple options for Care. Primary Care, nutrition, Dental, Hiv Resources and Outreach and Education services for Lgbtq community and children.Highly recommend. Love the ladies Peggy and Cookie;totally top notch.
Very knowledgeable and caring staff. They work with the lgbtq+ community in a supportive way, so I dont have to worry about bigotry compromising my care. Im lucky to have found this office.
I am so happy for SWC. I just moved here from Florida and I couldn’t be happier with the service they provide. I have private insurance through my company, but I am so grateful for the services they provide to the less privileged and less fortunate.
The Southwest Center is my primary care providers and Leann is my provider. Everything is efficient, informative, compassionate, and well-run. Highly recommend this place for medical services.
I went in today as a new patient to establish a pcp for medical and also mental health and therapy too everyone from the staff outfront to staff outback were wonderful and being neurodivergent mentally and physically ill i felt treated with empathy compassion and respect it was also my first time doing this on my own as a neurodivergent person they were very helpful patient and understanding i felt comfortable with my experience today id want to give a special shout out to medical assistant yasmine she is a shining star she went above amd beyond to be helpful today
The physicians are friendly and professional, but dealing with their administrative staff has been a nightmare. I had a routine checkup for PrEP testing in April 2023, and a clerical issue on their end resulted in my lab work being mistakenly processed as an out of state claim that my insurance flat out denied. This has left me on the hook for a little over $600 that I owe the lab company for this date when my testing on other visits was covered. The lab says that the correction has to originate from the SW Center, and I have been asking them REPEATEDLY for months to review and correct this issue. The only thing they offered to do was set up a payment plan for the expense, which isn’t the point of this at all. Now, I am having to pay the bill entirely out of pocket to avoid it going to collections. The whole ordeal has been extremely frustrating and disappointing, and I am switching providers as a result.
Was pretty decent a few years back but their reception team has become super 50/50 on callbacks and appointment alerts. Didnt get a reminder call about my appointment only to find out they rescheduled it to an earlier time that day. As a result I had to reschedule because of something I had no part in. Call ahead before you have an appointment because they dont seem to do that anymore.
Honestly a 1 is over, much over the zero this review states! Illegal malpractice! ILLEGAL and if you want your life taken from you, be warned! I had a life I loved, but like high school gossip, the group of doctors who carelessly concealed known medical error, ignoring a patients list of severe symptoms, speculating results that without interruption resulted catastrophic end term. Unrepairable medical conditions, diminished quality of living, life forever changed, and zero ZERO care or concern. Malicious intent was what was taken, done, ten months later after pulling me my own medical records discovered lies galore! I’m just cautioning against treatment and trust for every single medical professional there! You all deserve the death penalty!
Didn’t feel a real connection with the provider I saw. She didn’t seem that interested in the issues I was voicing and seemed to be lacking any useful ideas regarding obesity treatment (a follow up call from the office gave me the absolutely earth shattering revelation that I should eat well and exercise and come back for blood work in 3 months to see how I’m doing …). Overall I would say I didn’t feel heard and have no real path forward.Edit: They have conducted zero follow up with me about a medication they prescribed that was denied by insurance. After not hearing from them, I called on a Thursday to get information on the appeals process and was told I’d hopefully get a call back Friday. Cut to Thursday of the following week and they still haven’t returned my call, so I call again and am told they will “hopefully” call back by tomorrow.Just another medical office that doesn’t know how to communicate.
I have never had a better experience when going for any sort of medical treatment. I went in for a routine testing and could not have had a better experience. Jocelyn, Phil, and Vic(hope I’m spelling those right) at reception were phenomenal, extremely welcoming and could not have been more inviting. Past that, my tester Cedric was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He dealt with many of my “stupid” questions and was an all around great person. I drove 40min to get here for my test but it would be worth driving double that for the service that they provided.
I had a really bad experience with the provider I was seeing and like the reviews said I didnt feel a connection with the provider and they all gave off Im here for the money vibe. Anyways this is what I wrote when my i was seeing Raven. The one who mad me go through this. I had to suffer because Ive been out for a while im cis passing and ive been outted for the first time in a while and i had a panic attack. Im in a better place then I was then and I seeing a new provider who is very educated in trans issues and treatment. I didnt even know they were doing insurance fraud if you dont get your medication its because of money. My best advice is see someone else find someone who will help you and doesnt try and shoo you our and who treat you like human. Anyways I got my medication now and am in a better condition. Have a great day hope your day is good and everything for you is good for treatment
I had to come back to change my review. I had a negative experience with the front desk staff that left me crying, humiliated, and embarrassed. I didnt feel safe speaking with my provider about my family planning goals because of how dehumanized I felt. I finally got to a place where I had insurance and somehow healthcare was still inaccessible to me.Dont come here expecting to be treated with human decency, the insurance company is the true client. We are just the object which they have to work with for the finances.
The counseling here was very nice, but these people are so far booked out that they have no flexibility. I questioned why I wasn’t consistently charged my copay every visit and was continually reassured by staff it was because I didn’t have one, now today I receive a bill for 5 copays from last year? You have to wait up to 72 hours to get a callback and god forbid you miss that callback youre stuck waiting again in a cycle.
This place is horrible. They fraud insurance by denying refills on prep which is against state law. When I asked why I was denied a refill till my next appointment, I was told I needed to betested. For what exactly? Arizona state law requires no further testing too be prescribed prep, I had already completed the required bloodwork and initial kidney&liver analysis. I became upset when I ran out of medication due to the painful withdrawals and told them I would tell the board if nothing is done. The lazy and rude front desk jocelyn did not notify anybody of my need for refills after I had attempted to reach a provider several times. Then I was sent a letter stating I was banned?? I read the letter and they had me mistaken for someone else. I never said anything on those documents. I was fortunate enough to have recorded and transcribed the conversation. Then reported it to the medical board and to my Insurance . I attended this clinic for well over 10 years, I grew up here. Absolutely a waste of funding. The sort of individuals who run this place are like Kristina Ford or Amber Heard. They are all liars who will fraud your insurance and lie on documents to avoid prosecution. Do not use their services for Prep. You can obtain the medication easily online through more valid providers who are easier to communicate with. I got mine refilled immediately by an MD in NYC! The application took under 30 minutes and its all free. Forget this clinic! Vote red and discontinue funding to poorly run, fraudulent organizations like this. Report all of them and record, record, record.
While the provider I saw was wonderful, unfortunately the incompetency of the administrative staff is unlike anything I have ever experienced. After calling them almost every day for a month, I have given up. My provider left a message making it clear even he is not updated on my case or being given the messages from the staff. Do not go here unless it’s your only option. The last time I called they said, “well we are understaffed.” THEN STOP TAKING NEW PATIENTS IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE PROPER CARE AND SERVICES. The experience here has reminded me everything that is wrong with the American healthcare system.
Ive been here a few times and hadnt had any issues until I was told the Counseling sessions were a free service bc theyre non-profit. I was asked to be placed on the waiting lists and I was never called. I forgot about it for a while because of life things & when I finally called them a year later to see where I was on the wait-list , I was told I was never placed on the wait-list. That was the first thing that went wrong. The second thing is after this mistake was made I was placed at the top of the line. I started receiving counseling services within 2 weeks. Again, i was told this was a free service. I took a few sessions (literally like 2 sessions) and I received an email saying that I owed close to $600! So this is a warning! Their counseling service isnt free! The counseling sessions werent even worth it. The first one was cut short because we started late & the second session the counselor had no energy about him & pretty much agreed to everything I said and was asking a bunch of assessment questions. He was a guy just sitting at home on his sofa with a big tee-shirt, unshaved, not presentable at all. I thought the email was a joke but turns out it just a scam!
Don’t be in this line of work, if you are treat marginalized people as if they should not be treated with respect and urgency.
I cannot recommend this clinic.I went there for transgender care. I was misgendered and deadnamed by the staff, at a clinic that specializes in LGBTQIA+ healthcare. The staff was disinterested and impersonal.I originally signed up through a questionnaire on their website requesting trans care and assistance with legal name change and so forth. I did not receive a response for two weeks. I finally called them, and was able to make an appointment. I never heard from their gender affirming liaison. I had to make an appointment with them while I was there for my medical appointment, for another week later.I had to fill out the check-in information twice; once online days before my appointment, again when I arrived, and then was asked many of the same questions in person. Their online forms are literally broken; several options and fields do not display correctly on any device. Im concerned that they are not treating PHI/PII with the care they are required to by HIPAA.Overall, this clinic is disorganized, impersonal, and disrespectful. I will not be going back after that experience.
I tried to get my meds from them for five months. They never called CVS back so I had to ration my meds. Then after I think I finally get them to understand they decide not to treat me anymore and lied about my behavior.Moral of the story, dont be too upset at them for being incompetent or theyll punish you.
It is impossible to contact your pcp through patient portal now. I needed an update on my prep medication refills and some blood work. Im out of prep medication and had to reach out to a random provider to get refills. Have NO IDEA where my PCP is. Beyond unprofessional, dangerous and illegal. Absolutely outraged and angry at this clinic for doing this to me and several others. If you want prep try elsewhere, the providers here dont deserve funding.UPDATE:You can obtain prep online for free!! I am getting mine from a provider online, and its super easy. My new provider is easy to get in touch with. You dont need to do bloodwork every 2 months. PREP and state guidelines only SUGGEST kidney and liver function tests done on a bi annual or anual basis. Every 2 to 3 months bloodwork kidney and liver panel analysis is NOT NECESSARY to obtain prep under state law and most insurance policies. This place is a HUGE insurance fraud and scam!SUPPORT ONLINE OBTAINING OF MEDICATION! It allows for the public to create a more competitive market of doctors. So that doctors, such as those who manage this clinic, will be exposed for their fraudulent practices. The doctors at this clinic completely lied to me. I trusted them with my life, and they left me without medication, in fear, undergoing withdrawals. I hope they all get exposed for the lies they tell patients. I never shouldve been denied a refill on prep the way I was. I hope justiced is served, maybe someday.
Warning do not wast your time with this place. Was told by my normal physician to go to this place as they are not versed in HIV medications for prevention and care cool I appreciate the honesty from my medical provider. First visit was great was working with Paul which is no longer working at this facility. Got a new NP I believe there name was Leah to work with and was told my insurance denied our claim to put me on a new medication like insurance does. Come to find out they took down incomplete medical history from my first visit and lied about getting my medical records from my previous provider. I know they lied since I had my old medical provider BCCd to me in the email with the records I requested to be sent out. How do I get my complete medical history via email and they didnt? When I called them to question about this I then get scolded by my assigned NP Leah over the phone at which point because I caught them lying to me. I requested to speak with the director on duty at the time which I believe was named Taylor to report the terrible bed side manner and rude etiquette regarding my care and treatment. This was the last straw for me as it was clear that they dont care about giving good care which shows since they gave me a medication that no pharmacy had and then put me back on medication that was shown to be damaging my body based on my blood test results. All in all if you want to risk your health and treated like garbage by your health care provider this is the place for you. If you like to survive and protect yourself and partners I would for sure look some where else.
They don’t have enough availability for true walk-ins… 45 mins time slots to do simple blood draws and urine samples for STI testing, which is insane. Disappointing to know this once I arrived. Don’t rely on walking in and just schedule an appointment.
I called for counseling services which I was desperate for. After waiting on hold if they don’t answer you go to voicemail. I left my message. No call back for a week. I called and spoke to someone the next week. When she transferred me it was disconnected. 3 times. Finally she took my information and said Josue would get back to me. That was 3 weeks ago. Called today and went to voicemail again. If you need help, try somewhere else. 😔
Doctors and healthcare professionals are good however, their customer service staff/receptionists/appt setters are horrible. Terrible timings on phone callbacks. Really unhelpful and it seems like they dont care. Not recommended.
Worst provider I have ever been too. Really embarrassing service. They didn’t even get my prescription called in under 2 weeks so the two week take home was pointless putting my health at risk. The nurses were rude and just tried to get me in and out. They do not care about the patient. They also told me an executive would call to talk with me about my experience and I have not heard a word. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They only want your money demographic information for their funding.
Since you all arent understanding that I need help and keep sending the same link for a busted survey that doesnt work! When is the therapy pulling up????!!!!! TRASH! On to the 13th grievance...
I was told that I would be placed on their waitlist for mental health services. After a few weeks, I called and asked how much longer the wait would be. They told me that my name was never placed on their list and that the wait time would be another two months to receive services.I had also left two voicemails to their manager of mental health services (forgot her name…) to try and get this sorted out and she never called me back. Probably why I can’t remember her name… oh well.Definitely don’t recommend this place after such a terrible experience.
I have enjoyed coming here because the medical team has always been nice. However that is no excuse for the communication errors that constantly occur. I have given them chance after chance to redeem themselves, but it has yet to happen. This is no way to treat patients who have been with the establishment for years. I dont feel valued nor do I feel like they actually care about me as a patient. It is sad to think this is the way I would leave this practice, but they have given me no other alternative. For a place that is suppose to be a safe haven and help everyone, they sure know how to make a mockery of the office and all the staff who run it.
Dillon is an awesome gender affirming navigator. They have all of the information I need and helped me schedule things with the front desk. This location offers several opportunities for those within the LGBTQIA+ community such as name change grant information, free clothing and other local resources. Everyone here really listens to you and makes it feel like they care about you.
** Update: 2-3 years later and I still recommend this location for testing. I would 100% call before you go in to see if they have availability OR get there before they open to see if you can get squeezed in (not guaranteed though) or try to Maricopa county public health department:)I definitely recommend this place for routine testing! I paid $25 the first time and the last time was free. Their websites are informative. The front desk girls are usually nice and their new updated system allows you to fill out everything electronically. The 2 times I have gone, have always been smooth. The girls who have helped me made the entire process a good one. They are closed the last friday of the month, I believe (check their website) otherwise it’s a good place and facility is clean! ☺️
Their staff is super friendly. I was under Fullers care at the time and the whole staff was extremely helpful. If you are looking for HRT whether you are F2M OR M2F, talk to them and explain if you have budget limitations, you MAY qualify for help. Each visit there is a copay, or maybe your insurance may be able to cover it. Keep up the good work guys!
This place is super clean and friendly. Kenya was amazing and made me feel comfortable. I unfortunately am very unhappy with the billing team and have not received a call back or any help from anyone over the past few weeks so I have to remove stars.
The timing for testing is a little frustrating the way they currently have it set up, especially when the current front desk associates seem to have every urge to turn you away because theres just not enough time and so many people ahead of you.... the room was damn near empty and I had over an hour before they closed... once I got in as the last patient for the day everything was great, friendly and easy. I really almost made a scene with the front desk staff in regards to their treatment towards their availability to me for their services considering how long it took me to muster up the ability to go there alone and with ample time.Almost put a sour taste in my mouth.
The people that work here are amazing! Totally judgment free, and they provide you with a bunch of knowledge and resources. I went to get STD tested and it was completely free and I got my results back the next day! 10/10
Such an accepting and welcome office. Professional and kind staff.
Not looking promising, theyve been siting on a prior authorization for medication since Tuesday, Its now Thursday. Ill be out of medication by Saturday. Do they not understand the severity of the consequences of their lack of actions? They certainly dont seem to care. Ill be researching a medical authority to report this clinic to.
I went here at 1 o clock in the afternoon on a Thursday. They turned me away due to not have enough help for walk ins.So just beware they may turn you away even earlier than the times they say on their website.
I am very upset about the lack of communication for the team, you have to check in at a kiosk, and it’s gives you and option of a time to see a specialist and then it turns out the appointment is for 2 hours after you schedule it.Im sure they do good work, but don’t offer a time, and then make it for 2 hours later.
I came in more than an hour early for an HIV screening and was told they closed because there were not a lot of patients in the waiting room. Why bother posting scheduled hours if you don’t follow them? And I wonder if whoever is in charge is being paid a full-time salary (with taxpayer money!) despite these capricious breaks... I had to muster up the courage just to come, only to be turned away in the end. You should NOT be in this line of work and this facility should be shut down!
Its a great place to get education on HIV and AIDS. The staff and their policies need a lot of work. Everything turns out to be your an addict to alcohol or drugs even if youve never used drugs. They over charge the Ryan White fund to make money only to turn you away when youre in need. They are affiliated with former McDowell HIV Clinic and Care Directions which both are a waste of time. CD is a medical case management agency that bills Ryan White for full hourly visits when you just call them or they email you. And if you want to apply for any service on Your own you cant it has to be referred through them or you get no assistance. And even then you usually get told no we cant help you with that either. As for McDowell clinic....they think they are Gods. My Dr let me go 14 months without treatment or testing on complaints of arm pain. Carpal tunnel...now I have severe nerve damage in both arms and havent been able to work In 5 years. When I asked to change drs, the director told me no, I had to stay with the woman I had (I dont believe she should be called Dr or given that respect). She actually looked me In The face after 14 months and said she thought I was faking.
As a twenty-something female whos been a bit negligent when it comes to testing, I was quite nervous going in to the building. However, after receieving only the most friendly and respectful service, I was able to breathe a sigh of relief when I walked out. I dont write too many reviews, but the staff and practicioners all treated me with such kindness and dignity, which is of utmost importance in a place like this. With their free testing (Rapid HIV + Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia sent in to County for results in about a week), I feel theres no excuse now to not make time to find out your status. Thank you, Southwest!
I called yesterday to confirm todays appt with a therapist..then half way there this morning called again and was informed that a case manager cancelled this appt with the therapist on the 30th of last month. I never got a phone call letting me know ahead of time. So far, as a new patient, Im not impressed to say the least. I deserve better health care. Its no wonder Phoenix has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. I feel Im experiencing one of the reasons.
THIS IS CONCERNING CAROLYN FULLER, ND. DO NOT go to Fuller for anything regarding Hormone Therapy. She is out for money, plain and simple. For 2 months she gave me the run around on why she couldnt give me the therapy yet. Charging me each time for every visit. Bringing my mother in for a charged visit (I am in my mid 20s.. Why?) She would try to get me to purchase things from her other co workers. Eventually after wasting 2 months and 200+ dollars on her, I finally found another HRT who helped me right away. I am just so angry I wasted 2 months on her, imagine the progress I could have had by now! She is a snake in the grass and has ZERO compassion.
How dare this place take a single charitable dollar while its testers actively work on convincing people who show up to NOT get tested! I went in to get tested and was given a laundry list of reasons not to follow through as if the tester can tell I’m negative just by looking at me. Is that so they can afford the new registration tablets up front? Are the tests affecting their bottom line?F$&K this place! No Integrity!my advice: Find a plan B.
Unless you come at opening there is no walk-ins, and can only call to schedule appointment as website not working to schedule. Generally wasting time for testing more assurance at county
Free STD/HIV testing and everyone was so kind, understanding, and most importantly helpful. I received all the information I needed to move forward with a healthy life. Im super grateful for Southwest Center. My rapid HIV test took all of 15 minutes.
I checked in and waiting 40 minutes and NOBODY call me. I asked the front desk and she said she forgot to update with the doctor. Make sure you guys have to ask to front desk if you wait more than 20 mins
Unfortunately hours for check In are at least 3 hours before closing or they will turn u away. After 3rd try Ive given up and they only accept walk-ins. They need more testers to take in patient load.
Modern, comfortable building, open space lobby for SWC portion with a hand out section for literature and condoms. (There needs to be more material here its wasted opportunity to connect with community-you have a captive audience waiting for appointments why not take the time to educate with more reading material or a tv with educational information on a loop). Everything seems to be driven by appointments but the services my friends receive have been invaluable. Great building, easy parking, ready light rail access and the building houses medical and dental office and community programs. Awesome example of one stop shop medical, dental, mental, and community all under one roof.
What a great service and outstanding team of compassionate staff. They will be here for you from start to finish so that everything is ok regardless of what brings you or your loved one to be tested, treated or simply answer questions in general.
Its great that people that are positive+ have a place like this to go to in their community everyone is so friendly, and they can help you with so many things wether is vitamins, food, counseling, all sorts of get to gethers with people going through the same thing you are going through. There also is an obgyn and dentist in the same building.. Very convenient.
Amazing People, Amazing Place ! Always treated with the uttmost Respect , Sensivity and Compassion by a very Friendly, Courteous, Caring , Understanding nonjudgemental staff! Youre treated like a Good Friend and part of a Family . 5 stars all the way around and no complaints:-)
The nutritional side is awesome with Darrin and Dino, etc. How ever the medical side... Julie Lankton and Brian Avery are worthless scum on earth. No medical or professional side manners. Do not get medical attention here. Your better off at the hospital.
Currently they arent taking walk in appointments due too covid. They referred me to the Maricopa public health place on 16th Street and Roosevelt. They were very polite on the phone but looks like this place is shut down unless you are referred there I think.
The front office staff and the medical staff are attentive, respectful and professional. The people who call you back with the results need some more training. Overall I would definitely refer people here.
This place used to be good but it’s gone downhill. Don’t bother going after work and fighting traffic on their “late open days”. They shut down at 4 because there’s “enough people.” Must be nice to clock out 3 hours early just cause
They never answer the phones Ill be waiting on hold for atleast an HOUR. This is extremely frustrating since him counting on them to assist me with health concerns. At least theyre nice in person but that doesnt make up for it.
I highly recommend this place. Everyone from reception to the people I worked with and the doctor are exceptional! They have an authentic care for the patient and stress they want the best health for them.
Provide a wide variety of services for the HIV/AIDS community. Testing, nutrition management, naturopath, massage, accupuncture, mental health, social groups, etc. With new services being added all the time. The staff is fantastic, facility is first class. I cant say enough good things about Southwest Center.
The staff are great! Its a place where you can find out everything you need to now about HIV/AIDS I wish more people would then people who have it, like me would have a better way to live and more people would come in and get checked.
This place is a model of respect and service. There is a vibe of education and kindness. Its fast and the services are free (or you can give a donation). I felt so comfortable and highly recommend going here.
One of the best educational and research facilities in Arizona.Qualified, professional and knowledgeable staff are available to assist and facilitate on all aspects of HIV/AIDS related needs. From Prevention education, anonymous testing, counseling and treatment....this facility is a major resource for all peoples in our community.
The people that work here are incredible, helpful and caring .you donate if you csn, if you cant thats okay too. they take care of all walks of life .definitely recommend this place for anybody whos in need
The staff members are always very friendly and down to earth! I come here every 3 months and would recommend anyone and everyone to get your std checkups here.
Love This Place. Such A Beautiful Organization. Cant Wait To Walk In This Years Aunt Ritas AIDS WALK. All My Love And Continued Support, Always!
Found this place on Google very convenient staff was amazing and helpful. We got there about 1030 and waited about 45 minutes all together great place to go. In and out.
Terrible experience after terrible experience. It only gets worse. Never better.
They NEVER answer the phone. It’s so frustrating. What’s the point of having a front desk staff if they aren’t even doing their job.
I feel I am at the best clinic in Arizona. Very well managed and the entire staff is great.
They always over bill you and the billing department knows about it but does not fix it. The lady that works in billing is rude and gets an attitude when you tell her the billing was wrong
The first time in my life when the staff treats you like family and they are so sweet and caring for all walks of life
Its free and fast and they offer prep free of charge people are nice you dont have to hide anything
If you want respectful, well carried out testing and care, this is the place. The people are so kind.
A very wonderful place, everyone was so polite and very understanding. I felt very welcomed and comfortable
Wait time is horrible you come in for a test and no matter if it’s busy or not plan to be waiting 2 to 3 hours , it’s not that there busy because I keep seeing them just walking back and forth.
Very professional and they seem like they really care. Highly recommend.
Had a beautiful Night for Life experience on Saturday, first class all the way!
Nice, friendly help. They have hiv testing late on certain days witch is awesome
Do these people and even know what they’re supposed to be doing?
The staff here is excellent and the work they do is amazing!
It was alright didnt like way the doctor acted to me.
Womderfully friendly staff, naturopathic twist on HIV treatment AND healthy living options.
People are amazing and offer so much information. Go check them out.
I got here at 5:40 when they close at 7. Too busy to see me. Poor service.
Great experience. Dont forget to donate!😉

Ive had a wonderful experience so far with my gender affirming care! They have gone above and beyond in making me feel comfortable with choosing them through my transition. They take the time to listen and even provided me with a thorough list of trans friendly obyyns. I cant express my gratitude enough!
I met with Bryn and he was great! Thank you for fostering a comfortable and safe atmosphere and providing much needed services!
They dont care about you, just the first time they insult you and they dont even talk to you to see how you are or to do other tests.
