I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at spectrum medical and their staff. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with kindness and professionalism. The level of care and attention to detail provided by Kate Schaub was truly exceptional. She took the time to listen thoroughly and answer all of my questions with patience and expertise. The office was busy, but the appointments ran on time, and every interaction I had with the staff was friendly and professional.
I would just like to say regardless of the situation or any situation this place is hands down 10 plus! Everybody is always respectful kind and nice, they take their time, they answer questions and theyre there to help with any and everything that you have an issue concerning! I love this place all the staff are incredibly amazing and my favorite is Devin I will never forget him for all the things, the communication that he shares and his knowledge. Frfr 💯I wouldnt have been able to make it through this process with out him! Thank you so much Devin you are the best and you will never be forgotten! 💯💯💯😁
For people seeking medical advice stay away from this place if management is a representative of their services are you do not need this company. I came out here after hours to do work for this company who hires incompetent people to begin with whoever the head property management guy Mike is, wanted me to solve a problem so he can have someone who could not figure out in the first place take care of it. I could only imagine what the doctors do if this is the way management is here. Stay away. !!!!
I dont take pleasure in leaving a bad review however Ive had 2 bad experiences here. The first one was in 2021, I had just got out of ICU in September and I had a medical concern that I wanted to be seen for. I was scheduled weeks out but I needed to follow-up with my PCP sooner per the ICU and hospital providers. My concern was escalated to the office manager and she wouldnt even relay my message to my PCP to get feedback if they could see me sooner or if it was ok to wait. The office manager made the decision to not allow me to be in communication with my provider and would not allow me to be seen sooner. No one that is not medically trained ( office manager) can make decisions or suggestions for patientscare. So I never returned. My recent experience today was wanting to see if things changed and try to see my old provider that I liked. When I asked to run my new insurance to make sure theyre in network so I can move forward with my appointment, they could not confirm that information. They stated they dont have the software that others do to confirm that information. The best they could do is have me use the provider NPI and go on my insurance website to see if the provider is listed under my insurance. That option isnt reliable because the insurance provider list doesnt update when providers are not longer in network. Spectrum said that all they could do is move forward with my appointment and services and bill my insurance and then they will find out if I was covered by my insurance or if I will responsible for all services out of pocket. Thats not a good process for clients to have to go through . Not everyone will be able to afford a bill for their visit and services out of pocket. Its 2024 Spectrum. Its time to Do Better.
Everyone was nice so that was a positive but the front office and billing department do seem to lack knowledge of how the insurance process works. The lack of communication along with the incompetence certainly made it clear why this is a low rated clinic. I was told twice before coming in that my insurance was in network. When I received my bill it was billed as OON. Tried calling several times but I never received a call back. I do not recommend this medical office. I really do hope there is significant improvement in the future. As the population that this office serves is at a disadvantage. This is also my opinion and my experience.
The communication has improved over this year, and they are easier to organize a schedule with. I have no idea if they fixed the issues with overcharging, but I havent had that issue recently so it seems like they are trying to fix things. The new provider I saw this visit was nice and understanding. There are still some issues with the patient portal being confusing and difficult to use but hopefully they keep going in the direction of improvement. At least it doesnt feel like theyre letting down patients who rely on them anymore. I have no idea what was going on for those few years...
Been 2 times now, partner has Judith save his life years ago, EVERYONE RANTS AND RAVES OVER VANIGS wonderful work for advancement in AZ hiv comm. ... and My Doc Ramirez comes with 4 other former patients recomendations, & excited to see more achievements this top center, clients and all of us ...Achieve!
Devin has been fabulous and his bedside manner is impeccable. He takes the time to explain procedures and really can tell that he does care about your well being.
I appreciate the professionalism of this medical facility, the kindness, and the courtesy they show to their patients. The people who answer their phones and direct their phone calls to the primary care provider and their assistant, are a very integral part of the medical process. Justin, from the phone answering service at spectrum has been immensely helpful, professional, and efficient. There are many other names, that have escaped my memory, but I would like to thank them too, for their kindness and their patience, working with people who have disabilities by working with them as wonderfully as you guys do.THANK YOU all 👍
This practice never returns phone calls when they say they will, the admin staff can be rude, and it has become nearly impossible to reach them on the phone. They use a third-party call center to answer the phone, and the representatives of the center know virtually nothing about the practice. And, they dont tell you that you are talking to a third party answering service so you just get more and more frustrated thinking that the staff are just plain idiots. They also advertise on Google that they are open until 6, but I just called at 4:15 to make an appointment and after holding for 20 minutes, a voice came on telling me that the office was closed! This is horrible patient service.
Great Dr! The Dr assistant was super sweet and I hardly felt the shot she gave me at all.
AJ was extremely professional and informative almost had answers for questions before I could I could ask them.
BEWARE!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!! I would give no stars if that was possible! They have been horrible with a life threatening experience that their practitioner Kate put me in. She prescribed me a medication that I should not have because of an underlying chronic illness. This was something I did not know about beforehand. But, I trusted my practitioner with my health and care. Needless to say the medication led me being rushed to the emergency room with my life at risk. When talking to the ER doctors they were shocked my provider put me on this medication. After this situation I contacted Spectrum and it was all downhill from there. The office staff never relayed messages, managers and the administrators are hard to get ahold of and no one returns calls or knows what is going on. When asking to file a complaint the Manager of Customer Service didn’t even know how to process it. This situation happened in June and I’m still dealing with the repercussions of this medically, financially and emotionally. I had to open investigation with the state health department and the medical board. I have not received an apology from Kate and still have not heard from any of the higher ups from Spectrum after calling multiple times, leaving VMs, and sending them emails. Malpractice insurance has reached out for an investigation and offered an amount that wouldn’t even cover my medical expenses from a situation their practitioner put me in, and then they said with their offer they would excuse me from their care. This was a huge slap on the face to me when they put my life in danger to where I almost died, taking no responsibility, and not issuing a sincere apology. Much less the follow through from the office staff and management. It got to the point they were screening their calls for my number and had to use other phone numbers to get follow-ups/answers and then they even blocked my email to send in the complaint that they asked me to send in after figuring out the patient compliant form after weeks of asking for one. I AM TELLING YOU, FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS CARE OR FOLLOW UP!
I called spectrum and was told even though I had no money to come on in they will work with me. I went and saw their nurse practitioner. I was informed it would be $50 and we agreed to that. I paid $50 as agreed same day, but then received a bill in the mail for another $75 a few months later. I called into the office and let Heidi know that it doesnt seem right or fair what they did. We spoke with Heidi over the phone and she did say that she would reach out to Alyssa, her supervisor who is currently on a holiday, we hope to hear from Alyssa that they will remove the $75 over charge. It doesnt seem like a lot of money but to some it is.This has created more stress that I wasnt anticipating going to a community clinic here in PhoenixI cannot recommend anyone to go to spectrum medical at this time.
Well, I took the suggestion made by the provider in their respoonse to my 1-star review, and the exact same thing happened again! I sat on hold for 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone, after which a recording came on telling me that the office was closed. So, its not even possible to get to a Patient Support Supervisor. This is a joke. Dont even bother writing another response provider. Your supposed concern is just a collection of hollow words
They never return a patients or pharmacys phone call. It takes several days every month just to get a refill on a maintenance medication. They say they will pass the message to another department with zero follow up. It has been four days not without my medication, last month it was three days. Looking for another provider thats competent.
Never go here, I have had cancer for four months and have yet to be able to get A referral and a Prior authorization and a referral to my new cancer doctor. I’ve had to cancel two appointments and wait three months just to get diagnosed with a different doctor and now I find out they wrote the referral and the prior Doctor. They randomly close their hours are not consistent. They have four hours listed and their voicemail is wrong those hours. Also, they do not list any of the holidays so they could celebrate Raksha Hara or who the heck knows. Never go to if you have any urgent need. I have gone there for years and should’ve left a long time ago. Nobody ever stays there you never have a consistent doctor and there are no consistent Office staff.
Spectrum Medical is great! Waiting times are minimal, the staff is friendly, and my provider is AMAZING! I always feel welcome when I come in. It’s great to see a clinic that is constantly out in the community providing resources. Thanks for the great work you’re doing, it’s appreciated!
I’ve been a patient for 6 years . They provide quality , personal medical care . Always responsive to my individual needs and health questions . What I can tell anyone considering Soectrum Medical , you get personal service very much like a small town personal doctor / provider. I have been very pleased that I found this practice and I can recommend them to the full spectrum of our community. Call them , they will take good care of you !
Im very happy that we found this place. They are taking great care of my Son, and are very supportive and helpful.
Having a hard time getting prescription refilled. Have insurance but my Health care provider denied my refill request had to find out from the pharmacy. Now a week without medication. I put my request for a refill with the pharmacist last week making it 7 more days I might have to wait for a refill according to Spectrum refill policy. How do you get a refill or referral ER or Urgent Care I need help!
I’ve had great care since I started my treatment prep with Spectrum. John Adlinger was very helpful and when he was leaving he told me I would have a new provider, I was a little scared and worried that things wouldn’t be the same, but since Ethan started my care, I continue to feel the well rounded care and I feel all my needs are met every time I see him.
This places used to be amazing. They actually seemed to care. They do not anymore. The last several times I was there they didn’t even bother with an exam or vitals. I haven’t seen the actual doctor even in passing for years and don’t believe he exists anymore. I was asked to pee in a cup and carry it outside across the parking lot to another building. They don’t return messages. They don’t call you to discuss test results or bother to do so during visits. The office staff is rude and disconnected. What really gets me is after being a patient for 10 years they wouldn’t help me with a single month emergency med refill when I moved out of state and had trouble finding a new provider. ‘You’re no longer a patient here, what exactly do you expect us to do for you?’ Nothing. I expected nothing from these people. This kind of care is incredibly personal and difficult. You don’t need a nasty provider like these people. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. I’d like to say in advance that you’re sorry I had this experience reply to this post is disingenuous. Instead of lying to people on social media, fix your problems. There are many to choose from.
I found this provider serves up very poor health care on a base of extreme self-righteousness with ajudgemental, cavilair, arrogant attitude.Be very careful if you value your life.I received the message from your customer servic director through You Tube and will call in about 4 to 5 days.
Ive been going to this clinic since 2018 and Ive been seen Dr Santos, Mary Brady and JohnDenlinger, the service is outstanding and I dont have problem with refilling with medication. But now I have to contact the clinic after 30 days to refill my medication and it doesnt get refill right away and you have to constantly call the clinic as if you are begging. I hope they will fix their service .Ive talked to some of my friends and they are moving to a different clinic because of the other and the same issues.
I have worked with most of the medical staff and very happy with the care I receive. They are very responsive and easy to access online. Their expertise in LGBTQIA issues and STI prevention program alleviates a lot of stress regarding my health. I can’t imagine getting care anywhere else.
The customer service is awful! They couldnt careless regardless of how many years and payments you have made to them. They will leave you without your medicine even if its their fault! Also they will act like you never pay them when you have been receiving services from this place for over 6 years. Only experienced one Dr and shes is awesome. Based off everything else this place is not worth considering.Update: After you leave a review they pickup a little faster.
This office is no longer responsive, especially with regard to refill requests by phone, through the portal, or from the pharmacy directly. There is a general lack of communication and follow up. They don’t seem to care about their patients anymore.
My follow up appointment to see Dr. Thanes Vanig went smoothly. Dr. Thanes Vanig saw me in less than 5 minutes after I was seated in the exam room. My laboratory results were reviewed with me. I was glad to hear from Dr Vanig that I need a bivalent Covid vaccine booster. The Spectrum Medical staff are efficient in doing their work. Complimentary Condoms are available at the main lobby of Spectrum Medical.Thank you.Crispino Ramos
The best queer general practice medical provider I’ve been to. They are always caring and candid which I appreciate and I have been seeing them for about 6 years. They’ve gone through tech and organizational changes, sure, but that hasn’t stopped them from their primary focus and knowledge regarding queer issues— far more than I can say from non-queer practices.
The place seemed alright enough, I guess. I was told to show up 30 minutes early to an appointment that began minutes after their lunch ended, so I ended up sitting outside for that long or more.Front desk “assistance” was horrible and palpably annoyed barely acknowledged me, my MA smelled like cigarettes, and boy howdy if you thought mansplaining and condescension were the purview of aging male doctors, do they have a surprise in store for you.
The doctors and staff here are amazing! Theyre thorough and personable and I get great care. Dont let the older building scare you away, in my three years there theyve made improvements and take good care of it despite its age; besides, what truly matters is the care you get, and its truly excellent.
Horrible. Ive a patient for over 10 years and now I am leaving. Theres no communication between the people on the phones, the doctors assistants, and the doctors. I have short term disability claims that I will loose soon. I had the first appointment last Nov with a doctor who abruptly left, that appointment was supervised by another doctor. Then I made another appointment for the same reason with a different doctor. It was not addressed again. I made a third appointment which finally happened last week. I called my short term disability insurer today and was told they still havent received the paperwork. I asked for 4th appointment. Today is April 19th. The soonest appointment they could schedule me for is May 24th.The window to make my claim will be closed by that time.Ive pleaded with them to help me with this. Ive paid $60 00 in co-pays.They dont care.Do go there no matter what youve heard. This was an awesome practice for years but now they truly dont care.SHAME ON YOU SPECTRUM MEDICAL.I wrote the previous part of my review a few hours ago. Since then I received a call from the practice. The person I was speaking to was very energized. I asked a few times that they slow down. It turned out he was talking about a challenge I already solved myself. It took a few attempts but when I was able to clarify things and express the current challenge he informed me that I was no longer welcome as a patient. A sense of relief came over and I thanked him because it was going to be a mutually beneficial decision. I requested an electric version of my medical record within one week. Hopefully Ill receive it in a timely fashion.
I have been a patient for about 3 years. I joined because it was relatively easy to get in with many providers. Well, I now know that it was John Aldinger (great) who made my experience worthwhile. In late 2021, he left unbeknownst to me and I was given Ethan Nguyen (awful). The first sign of what was to come was Nguyen not wanting to order routine bloodwork. And now he has not responded to MULTIPLE prescription requestS for heartburn. I left these multiple requests with his medical assistant and by voicemail. No thank you! Goodbye.Let me know if John Aldinger is back.
Okay place. Just look out for they will charge your gender on your records and physical out of the blue for no reason without you knowing. This happened me almost a year ago and just found out now when I got copies of copies of they sent over to a program. Its not OK or legal. I shouldnt feel like I have show my birth certificate or hold health care any providershands in general to make sure anything dont getting mess up..Update, they said they cant do anything but wrlte a letter of explanation as an addendum to your chart that explains the error.I feel like my records are burned by them. 😒A place that used to be safe lgbtq community place.
I had been a patient here for 5+ years and up until recently been happy with the care I received. At the end of last year (2021) John Aldinger left the practice and thats when problems started after I was switched to Ethan Nguyen as my provider. I found myself having to jump through all sorts of hoops to continue receiving the same care and medication I’ve been receiving for 5+ years from multiple other providers at the practice. Suddenly prescription refills were being denied because a new policy was rolled out with no notice requiring separate appointments for PreP and other medications/medical needs. Luckily I found John Aldinger at One Medical in Scottsdale and have started going there, night and day improvement. Now if only Spectrum would send my medical records over to my new provider as requested.
Ive been coming here for years for my PrEP. Always a great experience but recently in the past year its been Terrible.Ive been told that I was applied for the SAAF program when I wasnt. I was told about about the bills being sent to my prep navigators to have sent to SAAF which hasnt been done. Ive been off PrEP multiple times due to it not being sent to the pharmacywhen I call to speak to someone about they always get mad and make it a point to argue with me that its at the pharmacy. The pharmacy has even went out their way to contact them to get my medication.I also have multiple bills in collections from my visits here. I went in just last week only to have someone their yell at me telling me to email it to SAAF. I told them my application wasnt updated.they come back to tell me they do need an updated application for the SAAF program. The way I wasnt answered really made my mind up that I no longer want to be a part of Spectrum Medical. If you are thinking about getting on PrEP. Please look at going to CAN Community Health, Terros Health, Chicanos or Ripple PHX. Their client approach is 10/10.Spectrum please take this a an opportunity to coach and improve yourself as I am seeing I am not the only who hasnt had a good experiences
STAY AWAY!!!!! Avoid this office at all costs! Been going here since 2015 and have had a standing lab order every 3 months to maintain my maintenance medication. Yet all of sudden now their policies require a visit and copayment for standard lab orders just to have to return for another visit with yet another copayment to get medication refilled. SCAM ALERT!!!! This is despite the fact that multiple providers I’ve seen have all told me all I had to do was complete labs and get my refills. I won’t even talk about the extremely high turnover rate for dr at this office! Probably because they realize how unprofessional and inconsistent the head dr is that runs this pathetic excuse for an office. For 6 years I’ve had to put up with this office and their inconsistent policies because they were one a very few providers in the state that provided the medication I need. No more!!! I beg of you don’t go here find a different provider!!! Dr. Vanig should be reported to the state medical board for his unprofessionalism! This entire practice needs to be shut down!!!
STAY AWAY! I have been going here for years and it has really lost its care for their patients. This Office cannot keep any good doctors, my previous doctor (which was experienced and great) even said he did not enjoy the office so he is leaving. I was then forwarded to Ethan Nguyen which for a provider that cannot rewrite my adhd and anxiety medication cause he is not a physiatrist he sure as hell has a lot of opinions of the medications I have been on, for just getting to know me. A hypocrite of an unexperienced doctor. He also has no urgency on returning portal messages or phone calls. You will also never be able to get ahold of your provider here, you just get the constant run around with the rude nurses over the phone that also have zero urgency. You will always be called in 10-15 minutes after your appointment time. This office is more interested in referring you to their sponsors and partners for more time and money.
This was my first visit and they were very kind and thorough!
I started visiting this office in 2015 and despite being a continuous patient for over 6 years, they randomly told me I was now considered a new patient but that they were not taking new patients. Talk about an absolutely abhorrent way to handle situations. More importantly, medication management is very difficult when you suddenly have no physician (ie the ones who were prescribing it for the past 6+ years) has left me rather screwed. This office was never good in the first place, but it was one of the few options that made it so there was nothing else to do but put up with it. If you have any need for continuous medication management, I would not even think about visiting this office. As the other review mentioned, all of the (mostly negative) reviews from the old page were wiped out (as was mine), but thankfully this is extra fresh as the office has also been completely non-respondent to requests for medical records directly from my physician who has provided them with the signed paperwork requesting those records.Edit: It appears that the original page for Spectrum Medical Care Center is present, however they changed the name to Spectrum Medical: Vanig Thanes MD and changed the category to ATM. Talk about a cheeky and inappropriate change on their part.
As a trans patient, I can say they have always been respectful and sensitive of me and my needs. All the staff has always been very sweet and friendly, super helpful and listening.
The experience is awful. Customer service sucks, The vibe that I got from this place is pretty negative. Im going to a different place. customer service is very important, the backroom is not very invited. Looks to me they only have MP, not doctors. Unfortunately, they dont deserve any stars
Ethan Nguyen and Mary Brady are and were great. Very helpful, insightful and knew my predicament immediately. Happy to be a patient at Spectrum and am recommending to everybody who reads this!
So on the 11th i got labs done and they were concerned about them so on the 28th i got them done again! It is the 18th and i call because i have not heard about the labs they were concerned about and i was told they don’t know what is going on with them they have to wait for them to come back! I ask what is taking so long and he said i would have to call senora and ask them! I smash why no one is following up on the labs that they were so concerned about he said he could but in a request to have the med asst see if anything could be done! I said what do you mean if anything could be done? He said the best is if you call senora and just yourself! What am i suppose to ask for, i have no idea? This place is going down hill from when i started going years ago! I mean are u concerned about the labs or just want more insurance? I hope this is not the new normal !!
I came in here the other day and encountered the worse interaction in a medical building, the employee Alisha is so rude towards me i will definitely not be coming back. she’s someone i wouldn’t want taking care of anyone i love.
Non responsive staff. They just send you to someones voicemail that never gets answered. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Everyone is polite. Entire location is very clean. Its right by their lab, so just a short walk to get labs done (very convenient).
Great place to receive prep care! Staff is always friendly and helpful. I recommend this clinic to anyone interested in starting prep treatment.
I feel my experience at Spectrum has been a great journey of info sharing, caring & an absolute respect for me as a patient
Always so informative and helpful the check in and check out process is amazing. Jose Rodriguez is always helpful to answer my questions about medication and diagnosis.
Had an appointment with Devon and Ari. Answered all my questions, visit was great. The office is clean and bright.
They talk to you for 2 mins, and bill you for a behavioral evaluation. Give you one flu-shot, which is free everywhere, but they bill you twice. Not running a hospital, theyre running a scam. Stay away!
I m going through menopause and was looking for HRT and I would have to change Physicians in order to be accepted. They are not accepting new patients at this time anyway. They only accept some insurance plans and If they want me to pay out of pocket when My physician covers my insurance.Bad for business to put people through this kind of stress just to go to this place just to get my thyroid checked and make sure my hormones are balanced. At this point it’s not about helping people. It’s about price hikes and patient money. It’s not about what you can get it’s about how much they can get. It’s about the high dollar spectrum. They put their pant on just like every one else.
They have been my primary care clinic for almost 2 decades and Im not dead yet. So...😁
This place is horrible. Wait on hold for 10 minutes only to find out that the earliest appointment is over 6 weeks away. Time to find a more professional medical group.
The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and very kind. It was my first time having an appointment there and I was very well cared for.
The worst medical group that I have dealt with. I dont recommend them. It took them a week to submit my prescription for my prep and poor customer service.
You guys cant be trusted to follow through. You dont send the link to have a appointment. Or put it on the workers appointment.
Great place to go and feel comfortable. My daughter likes it alot.
Love my Dr and the atmosphere is awesome. Great people make you feel welcome.
Always an issue with my appointments whenever I arrive even after scheduling weeks in advance and confirming through their app.
Devin and Ari were very professional and were very helpful with explaining my options regarding my visit.
Ari and Lonnie were fantastic and made me feel heard and cared for. Thank you!
I love this place. Ive built a pretty good relationship with the doctor here and I feel like they are helping me to the fullest.
Love the ease of getting through an appointment and how helpful and knowledgeable the providers are!
Very good experience at Spectrum. People are very friendly and help with all concern that you have.
Dr. Rodriguez and staff were very responsive to my health concerns.
I just started going there and so far I have zero complaints. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff.
Staff are always friendly, fast efficient easy in easy out.
Very efficient and courteous. Always professional.
Just progressively worse... Do not come here for general med...
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT HERE!! ❤
Very helpful!!!!
INCREDIBLE!
I have felt part of a family, since I received great support for being human and not because of any preference. Each of the team members seeks to support and provide excellent service. The process is simple, clear and guided.
