I was stuck in traffic and going to be 30 minutes late for my appointment. Maddy S. was pleasant and reassuring when I called to ask if I could still be seen. On arrival Maddy greeted me with a smile and had small talk with me, which helped calm my nerves before my visit. Thanks Maddy!
I had the pleasure of interacting with Maddy at the front desk during my visits, and I must say, Maddy was absolutely awesome! Maddy’s professionalism and warmth made a significant difference in my experience. Maddy’s attentiveness and kindness did not go unnoticed, and it greatly contributed to the positive atmosphere of the clinic. Thank you, Maddy, for making my journey at Shady Grove Fertility that much easier and more pleasant. Highly recommend!
The Rockville facility is open and bright and clean and welcoming. Staff are all very friendly and make me feel at ease and take their time to explain things. But wow—-Nicole is the best!!!! I don’t have great veins and she is the only one in my lifetime who has been able to draw blood on the first try, and I didn’t even feel a thing. She took great care of me. I’ll be traveling out of my way to see Nicole for all my future appointments.
When I initially started going here I was very excited about our journey. We were given a treatment plan along with a bunch of test to take in order to move forward. However, our recent visit was very discouraging. Our doctor went from being supportive of our decision to saying she didn’t recommend pregnancy due to the risk associated which we were aware and is why we came here in the first place. I would of never went through all the surgery, cardiology clearance, testing just to be shot down. As woman we have a hard time enough trying to have children and the lack of optimism we’ve received really was disheartening. At the end of the day it’s my life and my decision and God himself has the last say so. I will be getting a second opinion. Baby dust to all. ✨
Had an amazing experience this morning with Nicole who drew my blood- im a difficult stick and she got it in one shot so easily. So impressed with her skill and she was so kind too. This clinic has been great throughout my entire process !
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at shadygrove.Dr. Timmreck was always reassuring, yet transparent and honest, when we met with her to discuss progress along the way. She was absolutely wonderful, she is so kind and made the process such a happy one. My nurse Nancy was just amazing, great communication and pay attention to details.she was very helpful and responsive. We felt supported every step of the way.The nursing team and entire staff were always so friendly and made what can be an awkward experience feel comfortable. Overall it is nothing but a satisfactory journey with shadygrove
The doctor and nurses are good but the financial support team for insurance claims and billing is not acceptable. Our treatment plans have been delayed multiple times due to the authorization process was not proceed in a timely manner. Communication is not transparent and direct between their own teams. You will need to push and make sure the authorization process go through on your own, otherwise you may receive a last minute notice right before the treatment plan starts. Wish they will care about patients needs and time more.
Great staff, Effie is a great and attentive nurse, responds to emails and call backs. Nicole (medical assistant) is great, I didnt feel the needle. Erin (sonographer) is professional and made me feel at ease during the appointment.
I have been so amazed with everyone on Shady Grove’s team. Maddy was so nice and welcoming when we arrived. Catie walked me through every step of my HSG and made it a fun and informative procedure. Alexis took lots of time to talk with me and coordinate my next visit. I wish every doctor had this level of care. Thank you to the entire team!
The process was absolutely impersonal. I call it the baby factory. I never got to see my doctor in person, just two virtual meetings and a phone call. Other than that, you deal with whatever nurse is available and whatever doctor is on call. Im glad to have had my partners support because they fail tremendously in regards to making you feel as a human and not a walking uterus. The communication was terrible and they failed at giving me something as fundamental as a due date until I asked for it. Zero information during the ultrasounds other than everything looks ok. More than a couple of times I showed up for follow ups on the date they indicated, to find that there was not an appointment scheduled. Seems like despite the nurse telling me I had to come on that date for x or y procedure, I was supposed to call and schedule it, but nobody would tell me that I was supposed to. Why do I give them two stars instead of one? We did get pregnant.
Im giving this clinic two stars because we now have two wonderful children thanks to them. However, in the years since my second was born, the quality of service has gone downhill greatly. Weve had nothing but problems with them. Theyve mixed up our file and our data multiple times, weve had major issues with incorrect bills. And the overall level of care has plummeted since we started with them 8 years ago. There doesnt seem to be any leadership at the clinic, no sense of accountability, and just general disorganization. They no longer seem to prioritize the wellbeing of their patients and they no longer show the same empathy that they did years ago.If youd asked me just 5 years ago if I recommend this clinic, I would say yes. But not anymore.
Nurse Nancy is super helpful and responsive. Thanks for caring Nancy!I also appreciate the clean, bright atmosphere in the office. The overall environment is hopeful and positive with friendly reception staff and the way things look. That makes a difference in this process.
Probably the worst company to deal with.....Ive had to call and speak to a manager more than 20 times to attempt to get straight answers. They consistently struggle with Clear communication in all aspects from billing, instructions for patients, and everything in between. Messaging them through the portal does nothing and just increases frustration since they tell you to then call in which youre lucky to even speak to a person at all. Every attempt to escalate our issues and challenges went unheard and often felt I was just supposed to keep spending thousands of dollars. Do not use this company, look elsewhere.Edit: Theyve worked to correct the billing issues and have settled the account with me after reaching out to the advocacy email address.
Went for an HSG today and had a wonderful experience! This was my first time at this location. The front desk staff and nurses were very thorough and made the experience very comfortable. The radiology technician explained each step of the process. Highly recommend!
Went there for my first appointment today and checked in with their front desk staff in the fourth floor. The front desk staff asked my last name and told me to wait until somebody call me. 20min later nobody came to meet me so I asked the front desk lady again and she just asked me to wait again. An hour later still nobody came to meet me. My husband asked her if it’s normal to wait for an hour for the first time appointment. And then she realized we should’ve gone to the 5th floor. But by the time we checked in again with the front desk on fifth floor we were told we need to reschedule because it was too late, even though I had checked in online days before and checked in with a real person in the office. They don’t seem to care enough to do a decent job.
Both the doctors and the patient coordinators were good. However, communication was terrible. I was not informed that I was prescribed medication until I saw the claims on my insurance. I was unaware that prescriptions had been sent to pharmacy. The medication had been ready for pickup a week ago - Im glad I found out. Its unclear who should have notified me of these matters, but no one did. Terribly organized.
Its a scam clinic, they charged me for a test and then asked me to repeat it for free. But later they asked me to pay it again. Also, they keep changing my test results to make me pay more money. Once I changed the fertility center because I felt something was wrong, I got surprised that all the tests they made me do were inconsistent with my test results at the other center. Halfway through the process of testing and possible IVF, SGF stopped taking our insurance. Super dissatisfied with the whole experience and the only person that was helpful was our doctor. The office staff are useless. Filed a complaint with the BBB.
Everything went smoothly. Bills and wait times were reasonable. I saw some other folks complaints, but we didnt experience any of it. After 2 IUI attempts, we got a full term baby 9 months later. Thats all that matters! Thanks to Dr. Doyle and the amazing team at SGF Rockville. You all are the best and I hope you continue to help others who are in despair. We are forever grateful.
Everyone is friendly here, office is comfortable and appointment times are quick! Had a great blood draw with Nicole today. She is awesome.
I had a zoom appointment with the doctor here and was told that my fiance and I need to do some blood work for genetic testing to make sure there are no dominant genetic diseases. We had the blood work done and a few months later I’m stuck with a $650 bill! I am in no way prepared to pay such high bill and my financial adviser is no where to be found and no one returns my calls. This was so unexpected and no one even bothered to tell me that if my insurance doesn’t cover this blood test, how much I have to pay! I would have never agreed to this test. This is daytime rubbery.
The greeting you get - or don’t get from the front desk staff really makes a difference for someone going through the ups and downs in their infertility journey. Maddy S. is consistently so kind and welcoming and ALWAYS has a positive attitude - modeling exceptional customer service. Thank you!
I had my egg retrieval procedure today and was blown away by how friendly and warm everyone was. This was my first time retrieval experience and I was very anxious. Also, many years ago I had a poor experience with anesthesia for an unrelated procedure, so that compounded my fears. However, the excellent bedside manner of Dr. Csokmay, CRNA Nellie, pre-op nurse Judith, OR nurse Jasmine, and PACU nurse Emily made an otherwise scary experience, relatively enjoyable! Everyone instantly put me at ease and answered all my questions. So glad I made the right choice to come to SGF!
I wanted to get my treatment here but after the first appointment, it was very difficult for me to get in contact with a real representative to help me open the portal they made me create but it was very easy for them to contact me about the payment.. it was a disappointing.I gave my opinion to the manager and she was concerned about it.. said they will do better I hope they do👏🏼
I had no hope until I found Shady Grove Rockville. As a female factor case, I needed the specialized treatment plan that SGF offered and truly believe I would not have found success anywhere else. I was always treated compassionately and respectfully by all my nurses and doctors and was always impressed by their communication. Without a single exception, I received timely updates on my care and received responses to my messages and phone calls within the same business day. I did experience difficulty connecting with the financial counselors as some of the other reviews mention but after a call or two was always able to resolve my issue. SGF has my full recommendation for anyone in need of ART care.
Rockville Shady Grove is an excellent place for those who are looking to conceive. My doctor, Dr. Lauren Roth, is kind and gives great care. My IVF process was successful on the first attempt, and I am very thankful to the team working along with Dr. Lauren Roth. I am grateful to the entire team.
You might die and they wont care. Im still recovering from my traumatizing experiance. We did IVF and the short consultation did not include much much about the mental and physical pain I supposed to experience. I had some complications and went back the next day after surgery. I was in so much pain I couldnt walk straight and took me 3 long pauses to say Im in pain. I think something is wrong. They did not believe me and sent me home. The next day I admitted myself to ER and doctors told me I was suffering from massive internal bleeding and Ive lost 2/3 of my blood. If I had any underlying conditions ( which is common in people seeking fertility treatments) I would have definitely died. The doctor who did the operation never reached out. 3 days in hospital and after I got released from hospital my own doctor called saying she had no idea what happened to me and also unfortunately the results is a failure and let them know when Im ready for the next round. As if nothing happened. I almost died and its on the top of the humiliation, denial of my injury, their lack of professionalism I experienced. Im wondering how many people did not make it to share their story here. I hope you have a better luck with your journey.
Stay away from this place! they dont have a MD BOARD CERTIFICATE ANESTHESIOLOGY they have a CNRA to administer the anesthesia to reduce all the cost. (NURSE)Its very risky. I cancel my cicle because others fertility clinics offer a profesional MD board certificate anesthesiology. They charged us 11k plus 4k for the medication. We saw our doctor at the first appointment and never again. Doctor dont monitor your cicle just a nurse. Our nurse makes a mistake and we have problems with the right medicine doses. Terrible communication! When you contact customer service they are aggressive and dont show compassionate at all.Why you have to pay 16k for this? Dont lose your time and money make all the question before!
Im working with SGF through Walter Reed, and SGF has tried to charge us multiple times for several procedures. I have also struggled to get ANY sort of answer. I live several hours away and Im being told to just wait it out for the dates they gave me two months ago and are now saying they may not be able to do treatment on those dates. If I did not have to use this clinic because of insurance, I wouldve switched clinics by now
Today was our initial visit to SGF for early morning tests, and I was quite anxious about it. The receptionist, Maddy Spotts, greeted us with a warm smile, which instantly put me at ease. Upon our return around noon for my afternoon genetic tests, Mandy once again assisted us by allowing us to do the bloodwork earlier than our scheduled appointment. My experience at SGF today was remarkable, and I am eagerly looking forward to embarking on my pregnancy journey with them. :)
Nicole was so friendly and I barely felt her put the needle in my arm! Love that type of experience though out this process!
Only the best at SGF Rockville. For the amount of times we go in for bloodwork, my day was made. Nicole was super friendly, and excellent with needles. All part of the journey, and one of the good ones.
Medical bill fraud. We received 3 different bills from this place all within one month from each other. Amy D. Call me to tell me if I dont like the terms and condition of the clinic I can just leave. She was rude and arrogant, never apologizes. Please dont lose your peace with this company. Its sad they just to be very nice and now is terrible!
I strongly advise anyone considering fertility treatment to think twice about this poorly-run and money-focused organization. My spouse and I were with them for 10 months last year after which we decided they were not the ones for us. The only good thing about this place was our physician, Dr. Roth. Everything else there is rotten. We were always paying more than we had been initially advised by the financial counselor. The very next day after we got the news that our egg transfer did not yield a positive pregnancy test, the financial counselor emailed us about the cost of the next round. There were no condoling words from her. If empathy slapped these people in the face, they would absolutely not recognize it!A year after we were done for good, we were still getting bills. Shady Grove argued that they were not to blame and that insurance was the culprit. We have a health system where insurance firms, in this case Cigna (another terrible entity) are incentivized to deny care, while providers are energized to charge insurance firms as much as possible. The patients are the ones who suffer.Even when we set up a six-month payment plan to pay off the bill after the fact, they still messed up the process. A simple pre-scheduled credit card charge became complicated. And when you ring their financial phone number, no one ever answers.Lately, we received an email from Shady Grove that they would no longer accept Cigna, who in turn sent a mail explaining that Shady Grove had become greedy with their fees, which was why the relationship between them was dead.
If youre considering ART, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Roth and her team. Their expertise and compassionate care truly stood out during our journey. We never felt uncertain or overwhelmed after a meeting; instead, Dr. Roth ensured all our questions were thoroughly addressed. The convenience of online consult appointments made balancing work schedules seamless. Through three IVF rounds in their shared risk program, Dr. Roth and Christie, her nurse, provided invaluable support and guidance. Christies wealth of knowledge helped us feel confident every step of the way.
Shady Grove Fertility provided incredible support during my journey to parenthood. I went into early menopause at age 38 and was informed incorrectly that I couldn’t have children. Using Shady Grove’s egg donor program I was able to get pregnant and ultimately deliver a healthy baby girl! I am forever grateful to Shady Grove Fertility.
Extremely unsatisfied, I did my intake call over the phone for Rockville today, my demographics reflected a pervious marriage. I stated my husband name ***, the person said so your husband is not ***, I said no my husband name is ***. I was previously married. The lady taking my information over the phone stated that in order to remove my ex husband from my account I need to provide a divorce decree, I said I do not have that but I have my marriage license to my current spouse, and my drivers license and social security card reflects my husbands last name. She was very rude, unprofessional and said we can not update your ex from your account. I asked why, my marriage license is a legal document and I would not be able to have gotten remarried with out providing at the time of marriage license application my divorce decree. Why cant my current marriage license and my updated last name on two legal federal and state documents be enough. Fertility already is a extreme sensitive issue, I personally dont need to have added unwanted pressure. I understand the office needing some sort of Legal documentation of my new marriage but, why is my current marriage license not enough, let along my husband and me also have the SAME address on our drivers license. I felt like I was be discriminated because I was divorced. If this is a insight on how your treat your patients, I would hate to see how the treatment goes. Im not asking to be treated like someone special, but I dont want to be discriminated, and this is how I am feeling. Extremely hurt, and uncomfortable.
Amazing team, shout out to Nurse Nancy Samuels and Dr Timmreck, fully supportive through a long journey thats been quite an emotional rollercoaster. Efficient staff, always available, clean offices, friendly staff. All that you need
I met Sierra at front desk today at Rockville office, and she was amazing and so supportive. She made my day today!
Dr.Joseph Doyle and his team are non-professional. This is a heartless and irresponsible doctor. I went with this doctor for two years of hardships to find my child. He helped me due to one IUI and one IVF but both failed. My husband and I both checked our eggs and sperm. As a result, my husband has weak sperm and I have normally(full eggs and a lot of 18 eggs.)There I discussed with the doctor, with his experience considering the results like this, which method is best for my husband and I. (IUI or IVF). Mr. Answer depends on us, He doesnt give any opinion and always says its up to you to choose…….The first time I tried IUI it was a failure, and this is my second time tried IVF.The day of my egg retrieval was a very bad day. They told me to make sure I had finished with the ovulation medicine and then contact them to schedule the egg retrieval. I waited forever and no one contacted me. I was disappointed and cried countless tears. He began creating embryos from sperm and eggs. embryos day 1 were 12, Day 2 embryos were 6, Day 3 embryos were 4 and he continued to raise them until day 5. All of them died, not one embryo remained. The question and disappointment here is? As a doctor with experience in IVF, why not keep the embryos on the third day so we can have a few embryos, but have to raise them until the fifth day to die? My family has wasted more than two years and spending of thousands of dollars to get bad results. He didn’t care about finding your child. He only cares about how many times you did IVF to pay himNon-professional nursing staff always have consistently struggle with Clear communication in all , instructions for patients, and everything in Messaging them through the portal does nothing and just increases frustration since they tell you to then call in which youre lucky to even speak to a person at all. Every attempt to escalate our issues and challenges went unheard. This caused me to be depressed for many years and have only now recovered
The Rockville location has the best Medical Assistants. Dylan is kind and has drawn my blood many times, and I never feel a thing. Makes the overall appointment a better experience.
I highly recommend SGF to couples looking to conceive especially if they have exhausted all other options and have to turn to IVF. I am grateful and blessed to have been placed in the care of Dr. Roth and Nurse, Courtney. I would like to thank all the Sonographers and Embryologists. I learned from this experience to be more patient as the Rockville location is very busy helping couples achieve their dream of starting or growing their families. The amount of support I received was amazing. I would recommened to other women starting this journey to join infertility groups to help you speak up and advocate for yourself!
Huge fan of all of the front desk people, the techs, the nurses. Christie is the best nurse and super caring and knowledgeable which is helpful on this IVF journey. Dylan the tech (she draws the blood) is super kind and will always make you feel like a human instead of just a patient which I appreciate.
Stay away from this place. Medical bill fraud. We received 2 different bills from this place all within one month from each other. One was for 700$ one was 1500$, no visits happened between those bills sent out. They couldn’t explain why the price was changed. Very SHADY businessEdit - we did reach out and they were unable to explain the change in prices. SHADY.
Our experience at SGF has been superb from the beginning and throughout our process. All staff including doctors are professional and compassionate. Special shoutout to Dr. Roth who walked us through this journey in such a way that helped us make informed decisions. Thanks to Jasmine and Courtney, our nurse coordinators, who were very thorough and kept us on track. We highly recommend SGF.
Just got finished doing my third cycle for I UI treatment which would be my first was Shady Grove fertility clinic we went to the Location where customer service front desk wrap Maddie s greeted us with so much angelic energy she was like our turn up Queen through the whole procedure and I just want to say thank you so much for being that type of person from the moment we started to the ending process she offered us places of comfort she made sure that we were hydrated everything about her speaks value and I pray that she continues to keep that spirit because We need more motivation for people like her who are very kind and patient
Dr Leavy & Nurse Mindy& customer service Maddy S they are doing Excellent job Thank-you so much. Masresha & Tiruwork
If you are going to spend all that money, think better. You will always have communication with the nurse, but not whit your doctor. You will only see the doctor the first appointment that you pay for, but then the your cicle monitoring will be with a nurse . Also they dont have a board certification Anesthesiology. They have a nurse certificate and CNRA its not the same. I dont recommend the service because they have also big problems with communication.
We had no problems with the medical care provided by Dr Bromer at Shady Grove - this was exemplary. But administratively we have had a mixed experience. We had some delays with some appointments being scheduled and particularly with critically-important documents being produced for our lawyers but eventually we managed to get that resolved.
We are happy to share our wonderful experience at SGF. From the very start, we felt supported and guided through every step of our fertility journey. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Roth for her frank, professional, and knowledgeable consultation. Her expertise and candid advice were invaluable in helping us navigate the complexities of fertility treatment. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Nurse Maria, whose dedication and responsiveness made us feel cared for and supported at every turn. She went above and beyond in answering our questions and addressing any concerns we had, ensuring that we felt confident and informed throughout the process. My wifes schedule for all the necessary tests, including bloodwork, HSG, and sonohysterogram, was well arranged, allowing for a smooth and efficient experience. Moreover, SGF provided us with extensive information and educational resources, empowering us to make decisions about our treatment options. Their support and guidance played a crucial role in the successful outcome – my wife is now pregnant. We cannot recommend SGF highly enough. Our experience has left us feeling cautiously optimistic about the future, knowing that we received care and support from a team of dedicated professionals.
I highly recommend Shady Grove Fertiliy to anyone struggling to conceive. Dr. Osheroff was fantastic at educating us about all of our options. Casey was our nurse and primary communication contact through the whole process and she was always clear, kind, and compassionate. The nurses who drew my blood almost every day were experts and also so kind. SGF makes sure that you understand your financial obligation and works with your insurance. They have early morning appointments for monitoring so I could go before work. They have weekend hours for monitoring as well so you don’t get behind schedule. They have an online portal so it is easy to ask questions and review online test results. 10/10 would recommend!
Long wait times, wife waited 45 minutes past appointment time in exam room before the doctor arrived. Front desk staff seems confused when checking in.
Nicole was great! Normally they can’t find my veins to draw blood. However, Nicole was great and only pricked me once!
The staff at SGF is super patient and responsive to all your questions about whatever stage of the process you’re in. The other day I came in to ask an urgent question and Maddy was super attentive to what I needed and took me to someone who would resolve my concerns immediately. Thank you SGF staff!
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Roth and her team at Shady Grove Fertility. From the beginning, my husband and I knew we were in good hands after our initial consult. Dr. Roth was so warm and knowledgeable. She thoroughly explained the testing process and the lab results that she already recieved from my obgyn. Lisa was our testing coordinator. I was overwhelmed at first by the number of appointments needed, but she was on top of scheduling everything for me. The phlembotomists, nurses, PAs, and ultrasound technicians were very professional and kind. Once we started treatment, our nurse Christie was so wonderful. Her communication was outstanding, and she answered the numerous questions I had with patience. We had a failed IUI, and I truly felt like Dr. Roth and Christie were the best team to get us through the disappointment. Our second IUI was a success, and we are now graduated from Shady Grove Fertility. I also want to add that my work schedule is crazy but the staff at SGF accommodated my need to schedule the earliest appointments. I truly felt like every staff member we communicated with worked with us to make our dreams come true.
The office and staff were top tier. Sierra was Great. Super helpful!
Try to get my issue solved in the representative, Kelly. She picked up the phone call and really being so helpful and solved my issue immediately. give her a 5 star review. I just really appreciate that. Thank you. That is for Kelly.
We have been waiting for more than 2:30 Our service spoke to the manager We are still waiting Seems like the schedule more people than they can handle their saying they’ll take a moment. The people who come after us to getting service😤😤😤😤
After an absolutely horrific experience with another clinic, we moved our embryos to Shady Grove and couldnt have been happier. The team were at all times swift, professional, courteous and sympathetic. Our last clinic treated us like a piece of dirt - Shady Grove were constantly compassionate and kind, helping us through the very complicated process of removing our embryos from the prior clinic. A huge shout in particular to the lovliest nurse - Jessica McKay - who looked after us throughout our experience with SGF. We were also succesful after one transfer so really couldnt fault them. Highly recommended.
DONT GO HERETotally unprofessional and will cancel your appointment after you show up leaving you with no options.I scheduled an outside monitoring appointment with this clinic on a Monday for that Friday. Received confirmation of my appointment, filled out all the paperwork, brought orders in hard copy as I was instructed. When I showed up I was told that they couldnt see me because they didnt have approval, which would take 3 business days even though they had 4 business days.
Wish I could give zero stars. Extremely poor customer service and multiple billing errors that never get resolved. Please avoid this business if you can and try to find a better suited infertility clinic to address your needs. This business is completely unprofessional and when I contacted them multiple times regarding billing issues they say they will be resolved but never do. This is extremely disappointing and frustrating. I will never return and never recommend this business to anyone. You have been warned.
I can’t recommend SGF highly enough. If you want professional, research-based fertility care, this is THE place to go. SGF was my 3rd fertility clinic, and I wouldn’t have pursued IVF anywhere else. Dr. Joseph Doyle is an absolutely phenomenal doctor. He has that perfect mix of skill, knowledge, and compassion that I seek out in medical care. He explained both disappointing and exciting news thoroughly, and he was very reassuring before nerve-wracking procedures (which always went smoothly with him, btw). He listened to my concerns and provided my husband and me with all the information we needed to make informed decisions. It also felt so great to know he was rooting for us! I truly couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. Our nurse, Marina Martinez, was wonderful. We always knew how and when we could reach her. She was also very knowledgeable and was excellent with communication, organizing our treatment plans and medications, and so forth. Throughout our time at SGF, we knew we could trust our care team, their recommendations, and the whole process.Additionally, the whole SGF set-up is excellent. I was worried that such a big clinic might make me feel like just a number, but that wasn’t the case at all. It was easy to set up or change appointments, all the staff I encountered were kind and professional, and the online portal made it easy to contact relevant SGF staff. I felt very reassured to be a patient at such a well-organized clinic, and even though not everyone I interacted with knew me personally, I knew I could trust everyone to do their jobs—that is, to look out for me and their other patients.
Currently a patient here and honestly thinking of walking away. I can never get a hold of anyone who is in charge of my case. After testing is done Dr. B recommends IUI. After this you need financial clearance to start. I have emailed for over a month to only get an email saying Lyliana is no longer with the company…. It’s been another week and still nothing. No communication and extremely unorganized systems. So extremely disappointing. Already looking at other companies because of how my experience has been so far. If you are just starting on your path for a baby I highly recommend you go somewhere else.
I had a horrible experience with trying to get my medication delivered to my home until I spoke with Alexandria Brouard. She was extremely helpful and was there for me from start to finish. I finally received my medication because of her consistency and effort to make it happen!! I truly appreciate all of her help and I had to give her Kudos!!! Well done Alex you are the Best!!!!!
Sierra was very polite and friendly… she made sure that everything was understood before exiting …. Thank u
The rockville call center for scheduling appointments was awful. Spoke with 2 very rude and condescending employees. Both of them interrupted me every time I tried to speak and would assume what I was going to ask and start telling me what to do but were assuming the wrong thing each time. When I would try to correct them in what I actually needed I would get interrupted AGAIN. Ultimately they were entirely unhelpful and so rude in the process. This is the beginning of our IVF journey and I can’t imagine being treated this way the duration of this journey- you would think a corporation involving infertility would have employees with compassion. What a disappointment.
We have had nothing but a great experience with SGF so far. After our initial consult we were given a list of next steps and instructions. We were able to complete or schedule all follow up tasks after the initial consult (bloodwork, exams, etc) within the following week. The front desk staff have all been very friendly and knowledgeable and scheduling appointments over the phone have been a breeze. Dr. Humm is very knowledgeable and approachable, and the NP/PA staff have also been very friendly and skilled at their jobs. We are looking forward to continuing our journey with SGF.
This was my 4th transfer here as a GC. I had 1 successful pregnancy and this facility has always lacked communication. The first time they had me, they mixed up me with the intended mom and had it down the intended mother was receiving the embryo. Huge red flag but they made up for it with great nurses and embryologist. This is the 3rd time they messed up my time by an hour and I’m stuck sitting with a full bladder extremely uncomfortable to be greeted with incompetent staff and dirty looks by nurses because I went pee once I found out I had another 45 minutes to wait. (Water gets to the bladder in about 15-30 minutes). This time it was over and there was no “spark” and they had nothing to say about it. They all said okay we’re Done you can leave when you get dressed and they all left the room. Great patient care. Lack of care, TERRIBLE communication, and greedy. So disappointed you are the ones dealing with such fragile patients who just want to raise children. You should be ashamed.
Shady Grove has been wonderful throughout the last 1.5 years of fertility treatment. Due to a retirement, I have had two doctors during my time there, and cant say enough positive words about the both of them. The nurses, counselors, doctors, technicians, front desk, and everyone else who I have dealt with has been extremely professional, compassionate, and kind. Their level of patient care has been top notch. I have felt heard since day one. I would recommend Shady Grove Rockville to anyone.
I had a great experience during my visit. Front desk staff were very friendly! Building was clean, and organized. For my IUI my doctor was Dr. Clough. She was very informative, positive, comforting and eased my nerves throughout the quick process. Couldn’t thank the team enough!
I think the majority of negative writers are unaware of all side effects of the procedure and how any minimal intervention to our body could be fatal if not prevented. I had great experience with Shady Grove and they did their best. If you want to talk to your Doctor every day it is not the right place though. The clinic is the best and they do a lot of research in their field which leads to a busy schedule. I had only positive experience with Rockville and DC Offices and nurses were adorable. Even my doctors were super nice. I believe if you have a little bit of compassion and ask as many questions you need you are going to be just fine. Love my Dr. Moon and Dr. Levy by the way.
I had an egg retrival done for a fresh transfer on 8-16-23 and we had a wonderful experience! From arrival to departure. Everyone was so kinda and made you feel comfortable. We didnt have any complaints and they went through everything with you. They didnt rush you after and made sure you were ready and comfortbale before leaving. My pre-op nurse and anesthesiologist were so kind, very friendly, and had great bed side manners as well . I felt in good hands when I was in their care today! Up next is the transfer and Im hoping for great care again and same staff!
Checked in today for a quick visit. Sierra checked me and was just a delight!
The nutritionist Meghan Sylvester actively listened to my goals and provided me with simple but effective tools to take control of my nutrition all while maintaining my freedom. I lost 6 pounds in one month using her recommendations. She brings great energy, is extremely informative and really wants whats best for her patients. I would recommend her to anyone whos looking to make a lifestyle change and just needs a small push in the right direction. 10/10
I came to SGF in January of 23 after a year of actively tying to have a second baby in my early 40s.Exhausted and hopeless I found SGF. I was paired with Dr. Roth and her team. Alana her nurse was the most friendly and sweetest person. She kept me feeling positive and was very knowledgeable and informative.I had several appointments and the entire staff was always warm and friendly. I never waited long to be seen.We had started the testing phase when I got pregnant naturally.SGF took great care of monitoring my hormones and weekly Sonos to make sure I was on the right track in my progressing pregnancy.Though I didnt have to do ivf, I would fully recommend SGF to anyone who was tired and desperate like I was. They truly care and you definitely feel welcomed. You will be happy with their knowledge and expertise in helping familys achieve their goals.Thank you to the entire SGF family!!
Update: I’ve changed my rating as my experience drastically changed after I talked to the patient care advocate. I was changed to a new nurse who was AMAZING and made the remainder of the process so smooth. I would just say if you’re having any issues with your nurse to talk to the patient care advocate who will help. We now have 1 successful IUI and 1 successful IVF with shady grove fertility :)My wife and I did IUI about 3 years ago and had a great experience. We have now been going through the process of IVF for the past NINE MONTHS and it has been TERRIBLE. We could have had a baby in the time we’ve been jumping through all the hurdles. We’ve been thrown around to different nurses and have to fight to get anything done. Most recently after calling/messaging about 5 different times my pre approval to insurance was finally submitted and I got notification from my insurance that the treatment was pre approved and for the last 2 weeks I’ve been trying to get in touch with my nurse to get a treatment plan and have gotten nothing. First of all, I shouldn’t even have to notify them of this. They have this information and should reach out to me with a treatment plan. I don’t get why I have to work so hard to get anything done. I have a full time job and a 2 year old daughter and this has been such a drain. I would not recommend using SGF - Rockville
We started our fertility treatment journey with SGF and would highly recommend them.We are in Germantown and have the option to choose either Frederick or Rockville office to do any testing, and have the option to have telehealth with Dr. Bromer in Frederick office. All staff members in both offices we encountered are very friendly, professional and efficient. They have early appointments before our work hours, and we are usually in and out within 30 mins of our lab work appointment (except during summer time sometimes it takes a bit longer). It is great and doesn’t disrupt our work much. We’d highly recommend people considering fertility treatment to use their service!
Great experience with SGF-Rockville. Everyone from the schedulers and front desk team to the monitoring teams in phlebotomy and ultrasound to my primary physician and nurse (Dr. Roth and Dew) were supportive, professional, and encouraging.I felt respected and heard as a patient and felt that everyone shared my goal for a healthy pregnancy. The infertility journey is hard, but Dr. Roth and the SGF team were excellent throughout the process and I feel very comfortable recommending them to others.
I had a great experience with them! The team was so kind and really great at communication. We did IVF because my husband is going through some medical issues and has to take medicine where we can’t conceive while on the medication and they were so comforting. Dr Joseph Doyle, Amanda and all other nurses were so great at being available and helpful when I would panic that I forgot to take my progesterone shot. Everyone at shady grove fertility was seriously so great, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
I am a huge fan of Dr. Humm, so much so I followed her from another practice. She is dedicated to her patients and a incredibly skilled physician. She is the reason I have two(!!!) kids, and I cant thank her enough. The staff at Rockville was very supportive in each of my interactions with them. I highly recommend this practice.
My partner and I had a very disappointing experience with Shady Grove Fertility Hospital. When we first mentioned concerns about male infertility and asked to be tested, we were brushed off and told that it wasnt something to worry about yet. However, after spending THOUSANDS of dollars on treatments, we discovered that there was in fact an issue that should have been addressed much earlier. This negligence on the part of the hospital has caused us significant emotional, physical and financial stress. We feel that we were misled and taken advantage of by the doctors and financial staff at Shady Grove Fertility Hospital, and would not recommend their services to anyone.
The receptionists on the 4th floor are horrible and not being helpful at all. I hope next time they dont just try to rush you away without checking what were you there for.Another bad experience, I was on the phone with my nurse to talk to the lady there to help print a lab slip but she was just shush me and told me to take my phone speaker off. I really hope those ladies will know how to properly being helpful to patients. I love Sibley location and will try Annapolis location too.
I went through IVF treatment recently and they really do not tell you any information unless you asked. Also the nurses and financial team were extremely rude and annoyed when we ask a questions or two. And FYI I met with my doctor via Telehealth in December and she has not spoken to me since then. Only the nurse reaches out and also will only answer my questions and does not give any information because they expect you to know everything since we all have studies FERTILITY apparently. If I didnt ask I would not have known that I cannot exercise or have intercourse during the injection process. They take your money and expect you to know everything. And it is obvious they are just doing their jobs and show no care. During the few months I have gone to this clinic I think only 1-2 Ultrasound techs were extremely kind and were very kind and informational when I asked questions. One of them was PA and I feel bad that I do not remember her name because she was the only one during my IVF injections process that made me feel comfortable and was genuinely asking me how I was doing. The ten minute conversation I had with her was very comforting. Please SGF take our money and show no mercy or concern. Sucks that this is the closest fertility center I live near. So I cannot change my dr or team. Also anyone starting IVF treatment Please ask and ask all your questions to the nurse because you wont be talking to the Doctor at all after the initial consultation.
Being military it can be hard to make time for the process. We went in to this location on the weekend for LH monitoring. I knew something couldn’t have been right when the doctor mixed up my partner’s cycle length with mine although I had no intentions of even going through the process but we tried to put trust in them. We went in and got a call to come in the next day for more LH monitoring. We came in the next day and got a call later that day saying that my spouse was surging, to take the trigger shot that evening, and that it was time for insemination. We get inseminated and just something about the process didn’t seem right to me. Keep in mind we are paying out of pocket. I ordered her med records and on the records it says that she had likely surged the day before but they still proceeded with insemination after telling us that she was surging. She never even had a chance because they inseminated her outside of her ovulation period and the documents prove that. On top of that they are not willing to own up to that or even provide a refund for the cycle after blatantly inseminating her with no LH surge. She was an emotional wreck from the lies that were told and the hope she had in this company. I do not recommend. If Military just wait for Walter Reed because I am very much considering talking to a lawyer. It makes no sense.
The worst fertility center. They just try to get your money! The center is unprofessional, untrustworthy, and unethical!I had to ask multiple times for the reports and my medical records. Their first response is always that they have nothing and that the nurses messages in the message portal are enough. At the end I got the reports but I had multiple messages and calls back and forth with them refusing that they have anything to give me. Of course, I had already paid for everything since they ask for all the money at the beginning and then you need to ask a refund from your insurance. Also, after an ultrasound the nurse Lisa of doctors Lauren Roth was telling me that the doctor said that I had no cyst and everything was normal. When I finally got my report it clearly says that I have a cyst. And I specifically had asked about that. The center is EXTREMELY UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!!It seems that the responsible parties are unable to do their jobs since they are unable to communicate the correct information. The doctor Lauren Roth was refusing to have a second appointment with me before I complete all the tests and I had to only communicate with her nurse for all the serious issues.
My husband and I had a great experience with Dr Roth and all her team who helped us in every step of our journey. We are glad to have been under her care. She is caring, professional and knowledgeable. We highly recommend her for others who may also be struggling with creating a family.
I usually have a decent front desk experience coming into this office but today I’m so annoyed with the front desk personnel. I checked in with my significant other at 845. It’s 1100 and I still haven’t been seen. I went to the desk just ten min ago and she said she didn’t realize I checked in when my SO checked in. At 845 when I arrived I gave her both of our names Twice and even repeated his last name a third time. Now I’m going to be 1-2 hours more late to work. This is ridiculous. I wish people would pay more attention to detail
Updated: my experience with SGF this weekend.Im post transfer, awaiting a pregnancy test.I realized this Friday night that my medication is running out the following week. Call the pharmacy to learn that one of the key meds is back ordered since June bc its apparently discontinued. I guess SGF wasnt planning to inform me. Like I would just run out and thats that?? ***They should have reached out to every single patient that they had put on this medication to inform them of the situation.*** They cant just be waiting for us to run out.I message my nurse same Friday night 9/1 at 8pm. No answer. Its a long holiday weekend I guess. So I message again today 9/5 10:35AM. No answer.I call today at 12pm trying to speak with somebody. Automated system by name cannot locate my nurse. Tried this twice..I call front desk instead. Nobody picks up. I leave a VM. Nobody calls back.I call again 1.5 hours later at 1:30PM. Get transferred to a nurse whos away on extended leave and wont be checking messages.I call front desk again. Im ransferred to another nurse whos also out of the office. I leave a VM just in case.I call front desk again. Yeah they might all be away on vacation. Also your nurse is away this week. And silence. Ok so what do I do about my meds?? She agrees to message somebody else. This is what were paying thousands of dollars for. Im so frustrated that you can never RELAX. Theres always a catch.Mind you, Im employed full-time so all of these acrobatics take place while Im trying to keep a job.______________Imagine the most expensive, boutique doctors office. Then imagine that their customer service is at the level of a free medicare clinic. Thats Rockville SGF.Its my second time going through fertility care at SGF and its gotten much more chaotic and impersonal than it already was two years ago.My nurses keep changing, there was a day I spoke with 3 different ones. They forget to send critical medical information (next steps, medication calendar, instructions). They confuse my instructions. The doctor never calls except the one time for the initial consult (and weve been under treatment for weeks). I guess shes got our money now so why try any harder? I dont know how else to interpret that.I mean its pretty awful, at least at this location. You have a bunch of desperate men and women willing to pay and do anything to have a baby. But the care is impersonal, inconsistent, and often unreliable.
SHADYGROVE is like the Cadillac of prenatal and infertility care. It is seamless. The nurses are excellent, the doctors are excellent, particularly nurse Effie and Dr. J. Doyle. They were very attentive, the offices are some of the cleanest and most professional environments I’ve been in. The phlebotomists were all excellent. Front desk staff was excellent. I highly recommend. I have graduated from the program and definitely notice the difference in some aspects of my care now that I have left SHADYGROVE.
Second time experiencing big troubles here. The first time was because nobody contacted me when I let them know my period came, on Friday, and message was not been read, so I have to wait another month to start the treatment. And this time is because the medication run out, when I call the pharmacy, I just learnt that my insurance authorization is expired. The weekend is there, so I can’t get it done before next Tuesday. Results are either the medication will not be able to deliver on time or I have to pay out of pocket for $3000 for one gonal f pen. I don’t know who will be the responsible person for this, but I feel nobody cares you in the process. If you are an experienced person for IVF process, then may be it’s for you, since staffs talk nicely, the environment is also neat! but if you are a new patient, I suggest you go to another fertility center. They don’t give you explanations on what is this process, what you are going to experiencing, how soon you need to start prepare your medication, and what is the result related to the treatment. While, you can find everything in your portal, if you have time need to solve what information you need ahead and you need to have medical background to understand the results.I heard all the good things about SGF, but I am very frusted with the communication. The only way for any communications is online, exchaning messges. They have clinical and financial channel built in the same plateform. I keep asking two things: 1. what is covered by the insurance and what is not, for the items not covered by the insurance, what is the cost. 2. Can I get the full picutre of the process with breakdown treatments and the schedule? It took almost two month now, I have already given up the first questions, they only send me the items needs to pay by myself, and I was not offered any explainations on any options. Im still waiting to get the answer for the second question. Almost $3000 was spend without understanding the treatment process. I hope the further treatment can be more smooth. but really lowed my expetation.
Maddy S was extremely professional, friendly and respectful. Thank you Maddy S.
My wife and I contacted Shady Grove and was told that consultation was free. On the day of the consultation, the doctor informed us they will not take our insurance. He then quickly rushed us off the zoom call; it literally last 5 minutes. Fast forward a month later we get a bill for $175 for consultation. I honestly think this company only caters to rich people or those who can afford treatment. Once the doctor realized he wasn’t going to get paid, his entire attitude switched. Stay away, try other places like John Hopkins. Don’t waste your time here as they only care about getting paid. Anyone have doubts about the other reviews, believe them like you believe in COVID-19!Additionally my real score is -5000 stars.
Locations and the main corporate line hang up on you if you are an existing customer. Once they have your money they make it impossible to speak with them. Rockville literally picks up the phone and hangs up. No matter what time/day/number I call from. Terrible people all around.
I had several appointments and procedures done at the Rockville office and I was always impressed with the efficiency of the front staff as well as the kindness and caring of the back staff. The team at Shady Grove really knows how to make difficult processes and procedures as smooth as possible.
I didnt want post a review again but I am really angry. I do not have any qualified embryos passed the gene test so I have told them just dispose the useless embryos when the assistant contact me and told me no embryos can be used of my last treatment.(It is around March 2021) So I do not have any embryos saved in their place. However, I received invoice recently and ask me to pay for my embryos Storage fees for next year. Or I need to sign form to dispose them. I do not have any embryos saved there and has confirmed that with the assistant at my last treatment. Why they send me this strange invoice. I think something wrong with their management. They should improve their management. I have to say, some staff and doctors are very nice and all my surgery went well. However, the management is really a disaster sometime. Not only for this issue, but also for other problems. Lots of confused things. Well, in order to avoid being charged again wrongly. I paid 15$ to get the docusign form to make sure I will not be charged over 600$. Shady grove has lots of good doctor but the management is not very good which makes the patient very confused and feel uncomfortable.
Front desk staff are incredibly helpful, kind, and polite. Nurses, technicians and the docs have all been prompt, professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. Weve had several procedures done there so far and each one has been on time, without issue. This facility also has designated parking for clients as well, which is great!
Always very nice/friendly but they need to work on their meeting scheduling. I inevitably wait for l 30-40 minutes for my 2 min blood draw. The DC location has it figured out - 5 min wait in the morning max!
I have received healthcare services at a variety of institutions and I have to say Shady Grove Fertility has been my worst ever experience. You are nothing more than a number to them and you will receive cookie cutter treatment and terrible customer service. Do not expect compassion or empathy. From the cold, indifferent front desk staff to the overwhelmed doctors rush you through meetings and are uninterested in your concerns. Shockingly, I was provided a diagnosis immediately prior to undergoing an exam and never granted the opportunity to discuss the diagnosis with my doctor. Further, our initial testing was delayed as lab orders took a month to receive, despite my requests, and phone calls and emails went ignored. They will make bold claims that “you will be pregnant by December” yet drag your initial testing out for months. 7 months later and we are still spinning our wheels with no real attempts made and we have opted to move to a different clinic. Save your time and your money and choose a different clinic. They are too large, and too understaffed to care. This is an elective process but you should not expect to receive the same treatment as you would in a plastic surgeon’s office. It’s such a shame they don’t treat their patient’s better.
Leslie in the Insurance and Billing department was very rude and refused to process my claim with my primary insurance. She refused to give me her supervisor information to complain. I will be reaching out to CMS and MIA and any other agencies so this will not happen to anyone else. The fertility process is already stressful and for her to not even try to process my claim is unbelievable. Shady Grove seem to make the process more stressful than what it needs to be.
We have been going through our Fertility process with Shady Grove driving 52 minutes one way and our insurance did not cover any of this so we had to pay out of pocket. We made it to transfer day and on egg retrieval day we had signed a document encouraging spouses to be there on transfer day with only the restriction of children not being present. Today we show up for our transfer and excited as can be we were informed no spouses can be in the room without a vaccination. Now at this point we are furious because this is important to my wife for me to be there. Which now my wife is emotional and crying her eyes out adding stress to our situation which could comprise our procedures.. Now there is no form, no posted information on the wall and no policy ever given to the patients to legally inform them of these circumstances. No at this point I would have gone somewhere else for these treatments if we were informed ahead of time. They had no issue taking my unvaccinated money. So a heads up to all the partners and spouse Shady Grove does not care about legally informing you of any restriction that might causes you not to use them. They will make up any policy and enforce it on you whenever they please.
The doctors, Physicians and nurse works good. The front desk on fourth floor are very nice too. The lady who works on fifth floor when I do the surgery did a very bad job. She’s attitude to patient is very bad. When I talk to her, she begin to call. Also she did not tell me the exact place to wait, a nurse who serve other person told me I need to wait in the other place. I told her the material is in time frame, she just wait. That is the horrible experience for me especially when you wait for the surgery. I feel so bad about today’s experience .
I was badly assisted by Shady Grove Rockville front desk clerks who are probably inexperienced or/and overwhelmed with the amount of work they have. Requesting help with health issues in the U.S (mind you we are paying) is like begging for a favor. Front desk clerks are not doing me a favor when taking a phone call and scheduling an appointment, they are offering a service! Its absurd how badly we are treated in the U.S. No accommodations, no patience, no kindness. So disappointed!
The weekend nurse(s) are unprofessional, terrible phone demenor, Like shes Annoyed that i asked her questions or that i was confused about things. It doesnt take much to be pleasent and do your job with professionalism. I am a paying consumer that shouldnt have deal with so called attitudes when im just trying to do when i need to get done.
We had a great experience with Shady Grove. My nurse was wonderful and very understanding of our situation. She was with us every step of the way, and she was as happy as we were when we got a positive result. All phone calls were answered in a timely fashion. We never had any problems with scheduling, and billing was always super responsive. And we got our beautiful twin boys out of our experience there, so I cant complain too much anyway!
The fact that Shady Grove Fertility, Rockville, MD, did so little to protect the data of vulnerable women is reprehensible and indefensible. Women must refuse to allow their name and detailed information from being entered into such a poorly secured/defended national database.
Dr. Roth is amazing, kind, calm and compassionate. We tried to conceive naturally for couple of years but couldn’t due to PCOD and pre-diabetes. We first went to Dr. Roth in July 2018 to start our fertility journey. We were so desperate that we have decided to start with IVF in our first cycle itself but Dr. Roth suggested that we start with IUI and go from there. We were so worried but Dr. Roth made us so comfortable and patiently answered all our questions. As per her faith, I conceived my first child in October 2018 in second cycle of IUI within 4 months of treatment. We returned to Dr. Roth in March 2021 to start our journey again for second child!! But this time it became little difficult due to rise in my sugar levels. I had to get it down to start treatment. It took almost 1 year but Dr. Roth was in constant touch and was enquiring about my health. Finally I was able to start my treatment in Feb 2022 and conceived my second one in 3rd cycle of IUI. She will take time to call us, listen to our concerns, talk to us about any situation not loosing her calm and explain everything. It will so soothing to talk to her.My Clinical coordinator Dew is also awesome. She will call with results, treatment protocol on time and clearly explains us about the next steps. She is empathetic towards our situation.Dr. Roth is awesome!! I will definitely recommend her.
I know its easy to discount really bad reviews, but I am not someone who typically takes the time to write such things and felt I had to in this case.TLDR: Terrible communication, needlessly drawn out process, had to beg for responses, fatphobic, and had a much better experience when I switched clinics and went to Columbia Fertility Associates in DC. My sense is that SGF has expanded way faster than they can keep up with. I dont think the staff or doctors are bad people or anything, but my experience was inexcusable -- especially when you consider the price tag!Headline here is - they weighed me in November, I did a bunch of bloodwork/other appointments for months and kept asking when wed schedule egg retrieval. Nothing, nothing, no news, no information, no timeline, despite multiple asks. Eventually, they call me at the end of FEBRUARY and say your BMI is too high to do an egg retrieval, our anesthesiologists wont do it. I called them losing my mind. To his credit, doctor did call me back -- but only to entirely minimize my frustration, saying its only 30-40 pounds and that weight loss is in my best interest anyways. Since I am not the fattest person to ever get surgery in the world, I asked if there are ways to accommodate this (hospital setting? different kind of anesthesia?) and it was a total non-starter. So, if I agree to prioritize this weight loss (on top of managing the debilitating medical condition requiring me to seek IVF in the first place, mind you), when can I meet with their nutritionist? Oh, APRIL is first available.Even if you think a BMI cut-off is absolutely reasonable (which, sure, they are allowed to have one, but I dont think its right -- I think they should treat the person in front of them as they are, not the person theyd like to treat, and that the more we learn about BMI, the less legitimate a measure of anything it seems to be), there is ZERO excuse for not flagging this one Day One instead of months in. By the time youre working with an IVF clinic, you feel some sense of urgency. Not only did they not take responsibility for delaying my journey, but they essentially shamed me and didnt seem to get that losing 30-40 pounds (for anyone, but especially someone who has limited mobility, which is why I am doing IVF in the first place) is a real and significant challenge that would add months to anyones timeline. At the risk of sounding dramatic, I cant even describe how terrible it feels as a fat person with health issues who is trying everything to move my life forward to basically get told dont reproduce until you lose some weight. Fat women have babies all the time. What a cluster.I ended up switching to Columbia Fertility Associates, where I had zero of these problems and created 4 healthy embryos within 6 weeks of my first appointment. No issues with anesthesia. Fat babes, you dont have to take this. Also, at every point in this (even after switching clinics!), getting a response was ridiculous. You have to go through the portal and, unless youre responding to someone specific, it wont get sent to the right person. When we did switch, transferring my partners sperm from SGF to Columbia was INSANE and required so much follow up and nagging from our part. Everyone I know who has used SGF has been somewhere between frustrated to livid about how hard it is to get care/attention.Their rates are good, but is that because they are screening people out who have any sort of higher risk? I dont know. I can only speak to my experience, and it was terrible.
We worked with SGF for most of 2021 trying to get pregnant. At no point did they check my prolactin levels. Fast forward to 2023, my current endocrinologist tested my prolactin levels, which came back high. This can affect the regularity of menstruation and fertility. I went back through my records with SGF, and never was my prolactin checked. Why? Follow up for the high prolactin was a brain MRI to detect pituitary tumors, which came back with a benign tumor, likely causing the high prolactin and possible infertility. I am hugely disappointed that SGF didnt do the bare minimum in terms of data collection to diagnose potential fertility issues. If you choose to gamble and use this farce of a clinic, research to ensure that they are checking all possible leads for issues.
We were dealing with infertility for some time. That time when we started our journey in SGF Rockville we met Dr. Roth and her team in Rockville office. All the members of the team were very compassionate. They helped us in every bit. The communication was very smooth with all of them. And our 1st IVF journey was successful. We are highly recommended Shady Grove Rockville office.
I have been going to SGF Rockville for almost 2 years now. I love my doctor and nurse! I never had any issues with the nurses and doctors there. They have always been really nice and kind to me. Only issue I have is with the finance department. You know, when you start fertility treatments, they say you should relax and not stress. The finance department makes it a lot harder to relax because of their incompetency. They never get back with the quote on time, they are rude and condescending, especially their supervisor Anita. My financial councilor gave me my quote for a treatment cycle the day before I was starting the treatment that too at 9/10pm at night! Twice! And she said it was due that night. Imagine my frustration. You must be thinking, that I should have been on top of it and called them sooner. I did. They never answer the phone, I left voicemails, I wouldnt hear from them for weeks sometimes. So, in a nutshell, their finance department is full of people who dont care about us women going through the hardest times of our lives. But once you are done dealing with them, crying due to stress they are causing, it gets better with the nurses and doctors.
I had an HSG test yesterday and was pretty nervous as I had heard horror stories from other women about how bad the test hurt. I was impressed with the nurses and x-ray tech as they calmed my nerves and walked me through the process. I am giving 4 stars for the front desk and woman who got me dressed not being very personable.
The Dr.Roth is such a great doctor. !!I succeeded in getting pregnant through IVF with the Doctor Roth.I had a hard case because the AMH level was so low. But she was always positive and didnt give up on me. She found the right protocol for me and it eventually led to success. Her mental support was also a big boost. And the coordinator Dew is also really amazing. I sometimes felt uneasy during IVF. Then Dew always treated me with a kind and warm attitude. I was really moved by her behavior.Im so grateful to Dr.Roth and the coordinator Dew. If I try to get pregnant again, Ill find her again. Because shes such a great doctor. :)
Dr. Nair was my treating doctor at SGF, but she only practices at the K Street and Arlington locations. I had all my consultations with her and worked with her on my treatment plan, but I chose to go to the Rockville location for bloodwork, testing, procedures, etc. So this review is specifically for that. Most of the techs who do your bloodwork are very sweet and take care not to bruise your arm. A few are a bit grumpier and less careful. Nothing that would turn me away from SGF, but something to call out since patients have to get bloodwork so often. Most of the doctors at Rockville SGF who conducted my ultrasounds and IUIs were wonderful and caring. The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because of my experience during my last IUI. The doctor who came in was male, which took me off-guard. Up until that point, I wasnt even aware SGF had male doctors. But, that wasnt the real issue. The doctor was completely rude and cold, and after the IUI procedure the nurse - who was new - told me I could get up and leave right away. All the other nurses in previous IUIs said I needed to stay laying down for 5 minutes to maximize the chances of a positive outcome. It was a very frustrating last IUI experience, which was made more frustrating by the fact that it was our last try before moving on to IVF. I would have hoped that the doctor would have been more sensitive to that. Luckily, I never ran into that doctor again. My only other negative experience with SGF was with their billing system, but its not that different than any other medical billing system. It was often difficult to figure out what my real balance was, since the balances the staff at SGF told me I had were different than what I would see on my mailed statements due to insurance processing lags, etc. Maybe more frequent paper statements could help resolve that confusion.COVID considerations: My husband and I started treatment with SGF during COVID. The Rockville office is super spacious, so its easy to stay socially distant. The staff also checks your temperature before your appointment as an extra precaution. I never felt unsafe in the Rockville office. All in all, we had a really positive experience with SGF and plan to go back again if we need to. There were some bumps along the way, but the majority of the staff and doctors are very kind and caring, and they clearly know what theyre doing.
TERRIBLE service ! My friend is in the IVF process for almost a year at Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville- Maryland and the staff have been totally rude and not giving ANY support , especially the nurse Jessica Badillo is the worst human being and a very aggressive behavior over the phone .We’ve tried to call her MILLION of times and she never returns our calls .My friend is finishing her medication and we tried to call and front desk people are extremely unprofessional, rude and discriminate because we are not American citizens and even told us to stop calling them . I have no idea how a reputable clinic is so unprofessional with their patients .There is no phone number to call to make a complaint or someone above the nurse Jessica Badillo, which is unbelievable. We have tried to let messages on Portal and they return weeks later and nothing has done in order to figure out our issues .They’ll spend over 20k and they will switch the clinic if continue not having any support from this clinic , once we cannot waste anymore time with a such incompetent and negligent clinic . In addition, we are contacting out attorneys for all emotional damage this clinic has given to the whole family .My friend is totally shocked , frightened by the terrible service that ShadyGrove fertility has provided .I truly do not recommend to go to this clinic . They only care about money .
I want to be happy with this clinic. However, between my wife and I there have been multiple issues with the billing/finance team as well as ridiculous wait times for simple procedures like blood draws. I love our doctor and our nurse but I feel incredibly stressed out every time I have to visit because I am not sure what hurdle we will have to jump over.
Highly recommend SGF for those struggling with/ fertility. Our doctor was Dr Obrian and Nurse was Shawn. Throughout this stressful process we had a ton of questions and they both gave us the time needed to explain things and put us at ease. I personally never felt there was a long wait time, the front staff was helpful and the entire medical staff was compassionate during all the procedures and tests. Our only complaint is our assigned billing coordinator, Ashley was cointinously very difficult to get a hold of. Didnt feel this was enough to take off a star because there were others in the billing department that would quickly help out.Overall we had a great experience and we are 13weeks pregnant!
Shady Grove Fertility and especially Dr. Roth and Holly Campbell have been amazing to work with. They are kind, compassionate and they go above and beyond to help you understand the process. I would highly recommend the clinic and this team to anyone that asks.
Waiting over an hour for to see a physician for a drop off. Notified the desk of the long wait to be disregarded concerning the wait. Unprofessional and unethical
The doctor and nurses are nice but I wish I listened to other reviews about billIng/accounting department and about getting in touch/getting a response with their staff in a timely manner. Keeping in mind that my experience with them was through a pandemic, it was still more stressful than it needed to be. I thought that I could deal with it if it meant having a good doctor but it’s been an added unnecessary stress.I think there are enough clear negative reviews on this subject for them to understand where they need to make improvements.
Shady Grove Fertility is the most well-known clinic in the DMV, so I knew I wanted to work with them. When I met with a nurse for the first time, she clearly guided me through all the testing I would need and appointments I would attend on my pregnancy journey. I then arranged to work directly with Dr. Sagoskin who, funny enough, delivered my sister 35 years ago. He was honest about what my journey could look like as an older (geriatric) woman and exercised kindness and patience as I asked a million questions. When it was time to begin testing, the staff at the clinic - front desk, blood work - was all smiles and very helpful. As a single mother by choice, I relied on staff - doctors, nurses, front desk, blood work, etc. - to be a sort of partner in this journey and they did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to get pregnant on the first IUI attempt and welcomed a son in 2022.
I am absolutely ashamed to even have trusted such a place with my care. Dr. Lauren Roth and her RN were so careless with my care that I ended up losing one of my fallopian tubes. If I wouldve listened to Lauren or Holly the RN and waited then Id probably have had a ruptured tube instead and bled out. I am so glad I went to the ER and didnt wait for their team to make a decision or get me the results to do something. Time, compassion, knowledge and more is definitely needed for patient care especially when its a sensitive issue such as fertility. On top of an already stressful situation, these people make your life worse. This situation. Couldve easily been avoided if the dr. Or nurse actually cared or gave the time of day to the care at hand. They only care about money and nothing else!!!! These healthcare people should not be practicing at all and something has to be done about this. There are rules and regulations in this country for a reason, it is not acceptable to do this to anyone seeking care.
I went to Shady Grove Rockville for an IUI and I am extremely upset and disappointed with the staff there. I am a patient at the Mechanicsburg, PA office but because the timing of the IUI fell on a weekend, the closest office was Rockville — three hours from my home. My husbands appointment was at 11:30 but we arrived early so he provided his sample around 11:15. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30. At 12:45, I asked if they were behind and the front desk staff told me no that they were waiting on the specimen. At 1:15, I was still waiting and I asked again what the hold up was. At this point, I was the only patient there. I told them that it was about 42 hours since I triggered and I was getting worried. One of the clinical staff (I don’t know if she was a nurse or not) told me not to worry because the timing doesn’t matter. Excuse me?! It kind of matters a lot! Also, why was I waiting 45 minutes? The woman at the front desk - the only kind face in there — walked me back and asked the clinical staff what the hold up was. EVERYBODY was sitting down and talking. The woman said they didn’t have the sample, then she went and checked and said “oh yeah we do have it.” Then they finally took me back. They were all very cold and just treated you like a number. I was called by three different last names by the front desk staff and my concerns about the time since trigger was shrugged off. They kept telling me not to worry and that I have “hours” before I have to worry. Meanwhile, my doctor at my regular practice insists on 36-38 hours after trigger. This worked with my first child and I trust her judgement. Maybe if you’re an IVF patient you get better treatment, but I have nothing good to report. I couldn’t even tell you who the doctor was who did the IUI because she never introduced herself to me. I’ve had great experiences with the Camp Hill (now Mechanicsburg) and Frederick offices but Rockville was absolutely terrible. If I lived in that area, I would find another practice.
I had the worst experience there. The lack of professionalism is astounding. After working diligently with my husbands and my work schedule to get the day off, driving for two hours to get there and waiting 45 minutes to be seen, I was told the procedure could not be done. The nurse practitioner had the nerve to tell me to come back next month. They had no regard for the emotional impact these procedures have on people. I would not send my worst enemy to them.
I really appreciate the staff and the doctors at SG Rockville. the wait Time is short , very friendly faces and great doctors and my amazing nurse. Thank you for making our family complete.
I transferred to SGF after a bad experience at another clinic. I worked mostly with the Rockville practice, though Dr. Devine was my physician. Her team is very responsive and helpful. Dr. Devine was very informative and willing to explain things to me during our consults. After a few failed IVF rounds, Dr. Devine was very honest about my low chances of success. I decided to go ahead with it, and we had success the final time to get embryos. I dont think they pushed me into it just to get my business, they were very upfront about my small chance of success. I was also diagnosed with cancer during the process, and Dr. Devine was very thorough in my treatment plan. She spoke with my radiation and medical oncologists during the process to ensure appropriate treatment.Their operations are well organized and the online portal works great. My insurance covered my care, so I didnt have to deal directly with the finance side of things. Their office is lovely and huge (good during COVID)! A big difference from the downtown DC office, which is quite hectic and crowded, with no free parking. If you can get up to Rockville, Id recommend that office. The retrieval process and facilities were top notch, very organized, clean, kind, and efficient.
Hit many snags with our experience when it comes to clinical, IT, front desk department/staff. The only consistent (predictable) service appears to be from billing department.
I really like the whole team that took care of me. Dr. J. Doyle is one of the kindest, very patient DoctorI have come across. He listens to you, encourages you, and always has a smiling face. I am very grateful to him and his team.
Wow, alot of reviews only a 3.0 rating. Rude, entitled and dont know how to communicate. When I reported Rockville to MD Medical board, found out they have a history of black & brown women mistreatment do same if mistreated too. Plus they have been sued in class action and lost before. Go to another provider.
After 2 years of being very frustrated at a top fertility clinic in NYC, where there was no communication and every week you had a different person treating you, we decided to go to Shady Grove. We sat down with Dr. Chang and he listened to everything we had to say and then explained clearly to us all that we were facing. Everyone was friendly and helpful whenever i called or came into the office and i had the same nurse the whole time, who responded to my phone calls and emails quickly. In 4 short months i was pregnant. At the age of 51, I delivered (naturally, not ceserean), a beautiful healthy 8lb 1oz baby boy exactly 40 weeks later. I am so thankful to all the people at shady grove fertility for being so attentive and kind, and making our family complete.
Im so tired of this problem I need help. The Finance Team is driving me crazy, Im just about to do my transfer done in few days. and I have to deal with this situationI need this message to be forwarded to the Finance Manager or director of this clinic =>On 02/11/2019 I had serious problems with my banking account being overdraft 1800 for cryopreservation, because someone at the Embryo Options made a huge mistake charging me for someting that I alredy paid. This process is being stressful since then and I could not get my money back, because the clinic took too long to send a letter to my bank explaining that I alredy paid for it.I know US$ 1800 is nothing for this clinic, but it is a lot for my pocket. Ive being waiting for so long and I need a check with this amount for pick up tomorrow 2/21/19.I cant wait anymore, this is a joke and I truly regret have business with this clinic, because of the Finance Team, today when I called a told Lilly, my banking card is cancelled and I need a check and your employee Nelson sent a refund to my cancelled card. Then I ask you why is this guy giving me so much trouble?Everybody knows you cannot send a refund to a cancelled card, what is his problem with me? I guess this is personal. My husband and I cannot have problems with our credit because an error of your employee.I hope here from you today and tomorrow my husband will go to the clinic for pick up our check.
I am having big time issues with their billing and finance team. Saline sonogram self pay was listed at $300 rate, after my claim was processed I received $605 for this service. Lindsey is not responsive to my emails and phone calls. I will be filing a claim with a BBB and Consumer Protection Agency.
This review is specifically for my doctor , Doctor Lauren Roth . My wife and I started our fertility process in March of 2020 at the start of covid . We just wanted a bit of information about how to get the process started , however Dr Roth was so thorough that we decided to start doing blood work . We did our first Iui at the end of May 2020 and received a positive pregnancy test 2 weeks later . My wife and I were thrilled with our dr because she was patient ,answered all questions and clearly knew what she was doing . We were so thrilled that we gave her a call Nov 2021 to do another round of iui for baby number 2 . In January 2022 we received a positive test for baby number 2 . We were thrilled to be pregnant on both try’s . Moral of the story if your coming to this location she is the person to see !!!
Dr. Chang and his Nurse Kaitlin are excellent. Very responsive. I appreciate that they involve me in decision making and always willing to answer my questions quickly. Ive received excellent surgical care from Drs. Levy and OBrien as well. Very appreciative for this location and team.
I second, third, fourth the level of unprofessionalism at this place. This was the second clinic I went to for my issues, and I wasnt hoping for a miracle. They seem very accommodating at first. They have billing agents, etc., all to help you. They promise the service is covered by your insurance and give you nice little spreadsheets of what you should expect, and so on... The services will not be any more than this. Promise. Do not fall victim to them. If you do, take the number they provide you, then triple it. Oh, and tack on a bunch of other procedures and tests that wont be covered. I was told my out of pocket should have been no more than $2500... Im now at about $8000 and still getting bills for a relatively minor procedure (I did this before at another clinic and it was not near this amount). Its been 3 months since my last treatment there, and Ive gotten charged for same treatment multiple times. Numerous billing statements for the same thing I supposedly already paid. This is not an issue with their billing system, which they will tell you it is. I received line item statements for every service I received last month, and somehow Im still getting bills for items supposedly paid with my last payment. Also, you will go in like cattle for blood draws and tests early in the morning... You cannot get fertility drugs at every pharmacy, you either use one they select for you in town or have to call a pharmacy to deliver. Problem. #1 The pharmacy that delivers misses the shipment so you have to wait until the next cycle to start your injections. Or, #2, they wait to tell you that you need another injection until after the only pharmacy in town (which is way across town from you...) is closed. Oh, no problem, come pick it up from the clinic. So what if we are 30 minutes away and close in 10 minutes! Dont expect them to stay open for you though. Oh, and eff you if you have a job that you have to miss in the morning for the treatments... you will also need to miss the afternoon running back and forth over gods green acre to get your meds. They insist you have a very small window for the procedure (think 30 to 60 minutes), but then, they leave you in the waiting area for TWO HOURS. Im beyond irritated and totally disgusted by this place. This is a stressful process to go through period, they do everything they can to make it 1000 times worse.
This review is a consolidation of our success (5 stars) and the way we were treated (1 star) during the process. SGF is the biggest fertility center in the region and has a lot of options. After multiple attempts, we have a beautiful baby. If you chose to work with SGF, know that youll be treated as a line of accounting. Their billing department is as warm as the DMV as every bit as satisfying to deal with. One of their nurses had a major error in reporting a test result and the incident was treated with a collective shoulder shrug. The process is an emotional roller coaster and its extremely aggravating to be passed around between offices and numbers whenever theres an issue. My wife and I started calling them SFG- you can guess what the F meant. AND, we just learned that they had a data breach, so now our info is on the dark web. We worked with both the Rockville and K Street offices.
Do you enjoy feeling like a small cog in a big money making machine? Do rude receptionists and fussy paper pushers make your day? Does the thought of a panic induced google search for information on test results (because they wont explain them to you in a timely fashion) get you excited? Do you enjoy multiple miscomunications regarding time sensitive testing? If you answered yes to any of this than SGF is the place for you.RUN DONT WALK away from this clinic. From start to finish (and by finish i mean the very beginnings of testing because i ran screaming from this travesty of a practice) it has been a nightmare dealing with SGF.My experience was impersonal, frustrating, and infuriating at every turn. When we did choose leave we were then charged for our records to be sent to our new facility - despite those records taking WEEKS to get to my new doctor, multiple calls for records and never being charged by any other practice EVER for record transfers. This place is a disgrace.Do your research, if you have other options I highly recommend exploring them. If i could give them zero stars I would.
I love my doctor at SGF but I believe that your support staff needs real training. The ladies handling the statements and invoices, do not know how to read the invoices. I think its basic, when you try to collect money from patients, at a minimum, know how to freaking read invoices.Another disappointment with SGF is that you get the Nurses and the Assistants phone number to call but you should expect to talk to a machine. There really is no point giving out number when there is no one to pick up the call. I like the Nurse assigned to me I seriously hate talking to a voice machine.
My wife & I’s appointment was at 1:30 and we checked in at 1:00. We were out of there before our scheduled appointment! Check in is efficient and the waiting rooms were nice with a nice view outside. My wife had the best experience with the doctors and technicians there as well with her procedure
They send you to the wrong place so you drive 3 hours for nothing, and then the other place is still over an hour away and they don’t tell you over the phone you have to pay out of pocket because they didn’t submit it to the insurance, they don’t even tell you about alternate treatment options, didn’t do all the tests the first time so we could find out before we’re too old, just not a good business, I wish there was another option around here.
I’ve been waiting for an hour just for blood work and US. This experience with the whole Shady Grove entity has been such a disappointing time. It’s been a year and I’ve waisted so much valuable time. I’ve communicated this over and over again I have been up with hope and then down with disappointment.
Again, I can’t over emphasize how this place is the worst, worst place to go to for any fertility treatment..They lack patient care, their administrative section is poor. And they will make your overall experience even worst than whatever process you are going through..Please stay away from this clinic. You have been warned
Wish I could give zero stars. The staff is very unprofessional. They dont send the labs to your referring doctor. Even after you call them to confirm. They keep me on long hold times and not come back to the phone. Today I called four times and was unsuccessful getting the results. I was told this morning it would be faxed 10 minutes after disconnecting the call. My doctor never received the report as of now 4:56pm.And Im still on hold. It has been over 45 minutes until now. I know that no one will come back to the phone. They are waiting until 5pm when they close. So the call can drop. We wish that the doctor had sent us elsewhere. I will be reporting the bad experience higher up. Save yourself the time and patience waiting for results that you paid for not insurance that you may never get. Qe will find other means to try and get the lab reports. The doctor called and he was treated the same way. No answer and another occasion left on hold. #DontGoHere #MyOpinion
My journey has not been an easy one and is still on going . My nurse Dew is extremely empathetic and kind to my emotional roller coaster journey. Dr. Chang is very knowledgeable and patient. I recommend Shady Grove Fertility to anyone struggling to start a family.-Andrea Helton-Leon
My wife and I had researched several fertility clinics in the US, looking for an egg donor program and on paper this clinic appeared to have reasonable success rates and may be a good clinic. We flew out to the clinic for our first visit and were completely disappointed in the clinic. A majority of the staff was completely incompetent and the physician we saw seemed rather disinterested in his work. We found the clinic itself to have the atmosphere of a disjointed factory, with most of the staff lacking the knowledge or understanding of their clinic operations, rather than a pleasant clinic. Further, their data base of egg donors has proven to be only a fraction of what they had suggested when we had first called to inquire about their fertility program.Since our visit, we have received numerous statements that have been incorrect and included much higher fees than we were quoted originally. We have called our contact in their billing department and unfortunately she does not seem to understand how to both bill insurance and interpret EOBs. It has been very frustrating to be billed amounts for procedures that are higher than what is allowable under our insurance policy.Ultimately, we will not continue with the egg donor program at Shady Grove. We have since looked into egg donor programs at other clinics and have been very pleasantly surprised. There are several better options in the US and abroad that are much more professional.
Hard to give a good review when they refuse to answer the phone or return voice messages. The one time in 3 weeks that I was able to speak to a human, they transferred me to someone else’s voicemail.
I will keep it short: Very dissatisfied. Clients are the least of their worries, No compassion or empathy whatsoever. Their main focus is to drain money out of you. As a health professional, am concerned when providing health services to people is void of quality.
Dropped off a specimen test with them that has a life of two hours. Test was taken at 8:15am dropped off to them at 8:50am. They waited until 10:10am to complete the analysis no word of lie. now they are claiming results are low. Just seems like a money grab to re-test and undergo more testing.
In my opinion, Dr. Michael Levy was not willing to attempt personalized treatment plan, which disappointed us since this is the clinic nearby where we live . We simply had to work with another IVF doctor who is willing to provide us personalized treatment.
I was only in the Rockville location for a small testing. The office on the 5th floor is very new and super modern. It has a nice seating/ waiting area. My nurse Angela was very sweet and provided a lot of good information I needed for the testing. She was great!
Our doctor was one of the founders; he was honest and frank with us about chances of success with IUI; but we still wanted to try as our insurance covered it 100 percent!! He was right not successful; so we moved on to IVF!! Yeah successful on the first try!! We have today a healthy baby boy! AND we are returning for baby number 2!! The nurses are also awesome!! Im feeling so fortunate my office is 15 minutes from the clinic made it easy for all my tests. I would not be a mom at age 44 without this place. GRACIAS!!
My husband and I waited over an hour for our consult with OBrien. The office was cold and we felt like we were in a assembly line from start to finish. A few week after our appt, I called 3x and left voicemails to get billing/cost questions answered and no one returned my calls. We went somewhere else.
If I could give zero stars I would. Bottom line: I do not trust SGF. They only care about the quantity NOT the quality. In 2020, at the age of 28, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. One week after diagnosis I started a two week medication regimen with SGF and underwent egg retrieval, 3 days before starting chemo. My husband and I chose SGF as my oncologist recommended them. I was very fortunate to have 10 eggs from the retrieval. We asked to have embryos made immediately; however, was told SGF only freezes eggs. They would not freeze embryos even if couples were already married. Ultimately, we had eggs frozen not embryos. About 2 months after the retrieval, my husband and I started pursuing surrogacy as a means to have children. When this was expressed to SGF, they responded saying they wished they had known sooner as they would have frozen embryos over eggs. We asked SGF to make embryos immediately to continue with surrogacy in September 2020. SGF took several months (until February) to respond in any way. The first response was from the finance team asking for money. Additionally, SGF lost our paperwork and and took over 2 months to schedule my husband for his FDA panel. Those 10 eggs meant the entire world to me. After months of hounding SGF to make embryos they finally did; however, none survived past day 6. To this day I do not know if anything could have been done to prevent this or if this was natural causes or SGF negligence since they could not even handle easy administrative tasks. Unfortunately, I will never know. My husband and I wasted our only chance at having biological children, months of heartache and waiting around, and thousands of dollars. At SGF you are simply another number not a human being trying to have a child.Update: Reached out to the helpline the day they left the below comment and have not heard anything. Yet again disappointed.
The cost of cryopreservation has been raised twice in less than a year. It was supposed to be $100/month. They just raised it to $130/month. Its taking advantage of patients who have already paid dearly, and I dont agree with it. I will be looking at options to move my frozen eggs to another lab
A bunch of idiots made a fertility facilities office without any responsibility for their task. Stay far away from this money maker machine for their owner. Find responsible and other professional centers.
Amazing, working for kids making millions $$ out of kids but not allowing kids in to the facilities, you should have a nice indoor playground for your each facility
Avoid Shady Grove as though it were COVID-19. I had a simple blood problem that turned out to be the most common cause of recurrent miscarriage. These folks never bothered to check. They did, however, put me through the same extensive tests that they put women whp cant conceive through, and then kept pretending to scratch their heads. Shady Grove is in it for the money. They will not care about you or anything youre going through. An African American friend was referred to them after I was, and felt that she and her husband were treated with significant racial discrimination.
Beware. It’s all about the money now. Shady Grove Fertility was recently, mid 2020, acquired by a Private Equity firm. We were a previously a patient of Shady Grove in 2019 and since then I have noticed a big difference in the service. Everything is all about the money now. I imagine the private equity firm has decided that they can try and squeeze as much money as possible from the increased demand for fertility treatments. I hope someone at SGF gets the message and calms down the greed. It is palpable in every time we go.
I have a referral for an HSG. I got scheduled for a consultation to do an HSG, don’t know why and wanted it explained. I’ve called few times but no one seems to answer the phone or return calls. I cancelled the appointment via the scheduling number which apparently would be the only line that gets answered. Looking for a different facility to go to now and hoping that I can reach a live person if and when I have questions.
I been a patient of Shady grove fertility for a year. No matter the outcome this has been the worse experience of my life. The amount of unprofessionalism is unreal. Dealing with the Harbor and Towson locations has been more stressful then fertility itself. No patient should go through the amount of miscommunications and mistake that i have. Just to receive apologies with no merit. I have no energy to be angry anymore im overall disgusted.
Nurse and care team are very caring and attentive. I was feeling very anxious and nervous about egg retrieval but they made my visit very calming and comfortable.
For 6 years I’m done my IVF with doctor Obrien but we don’t have any luck so I “ don’t have any problem with the doctor but only a nurse Sabrina she Hurt me 😓 and the financial issues they continue to charge me for the same billing and I keep call and they don’t call back 😫 ps: my healthy Insurance covers 100% but I continue receive the bills !!! Ps: I don’t recommend shady Grove I believe they not have any feeling for you 🙋🏻♀️They just want’s your many 😳 for 6 years and they don’t help me got pregnant “ but the bills are so crazy 😱😱😱😱
Dr. Bromer is compassionate, fantastic and understanding, and so is Karen W., our nurse, and the rest of my wonderful team at Shady Grove Fertility based in Rockville and Frederick, MD. They are WONDERFUL. I have found the process to be streamlined, simple, and the staff to be extremely responsive and compassionate to the process that we go through with IVF. Id like to thank each and every one of you, personally. A 5 star team that has made this trying time in our lives more bearable with their professionalism, kindness, and extensive knowledge. Weve known that we were in wonderful hands from the first day we stepped through their doors, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Nicole— she is the best phlebotomist! Thank you!
They will take your money and then refuse to treat you. I went through their testing process and only then did they mention they have a BMI cutoff for doing actual procedures. Ok, fine, if you have that guideline, but maybe dont take someones money and put them through humiliating tests before telling them theyre too fat and sending them on their way. I only rated it 3 stars so people would actually read this.
Worst customer service Ive ever had. The people on the phone would pretend they wouldnt hear me and hang up. I was talking to their co workers before them and could hear me fine. Not only that i told them to terminate my account and Im still getting billed as if they never terminated my account .
Stay away from this place!! I was recommended to undergo an IUI for a second baby since I have been experiencing secondary infertility/ recurring miscarriages. Well I just literally spent $1800 on the cycle and they didn’t even calculate my ovulation correctly. I was originally scheduled for the IUI 2 Fridays ago, but at the ultrasound check up that Wednesday before, the technician failed to see all the mature follicles (something they do literally everyday several times a day), so I had to go back the next day where this time a NP checked and found some more that was consistent with my blood work. Because of all this, Dr Doyle ended up pushing my IUI back by one day which was a BIG mistake because I am confident they missed my ovulation! Worst part is, I literally had to TELL my assigned nurse prior to even starting the IUI that I don’t have the standard 28 day cycle, so I tend to ovulate earlier than average by like 2 days. They don’t even bother checking all this or inquiring about my past cycle patterns. So as a result of their miscalculation, I am out of $1800 for an IUI that was done AFTER I already ovulated. Ha! What a joke! Also, don’t expect to even see your doctor through all this (even during/after the actual IUI). They literally only do a consult with the doctor, and after that they just pass you around the lab staff.
Horrible experience. It’s been 4 weeks since i had my blood drawn yet i havent been told what the results are despite calling them and leaving them multiple messages as well as emails. The doctor i saw was great however the ancillary staff are grossly incompetent and inefficient.
Susan A. was very helpful with my request. I really appreciate it.
I dont even know how to explain this place . First time writing on public thats how u know Im very annoyed by this place.Unprofessional environment, they want u to be like an ATM to just take money with out any follow up . They email u the result and tell u to take another test over and over but there is no body to explain why and what u are doing. The other thing very upsetting is they are taking money out of my account every month and when I called to see the doctor they told me that my account was suspended because Im not paying even if they are taking money automatically out of my account every month so they said Its by mistake I have to contact the collection group so I called and talked to the collection group they told me that to make another appointment I have to payed the whole amount which is not a big deal for me but they dont even know what they are doing . Another thing u have to wait amonth or more to see the doctor for may be 5 or 10 minutes and they will send u abill more than u expected never again this place I went here because its near to my house even if they dont have a good review. Run away
The facility is BEAUTIFUL and the staff from check in, through procedure, are FABULOUS. The energy makes you smile. Love going here for treatments.
Dr. Browne was my doctor 5 years ago and my daughter just turned 4 - I still thank Shady Grove every day for making my dream of motherhood come true. I have recommended them to several of my friends who have all had great experiences.
Easiest experience of my life. I was in and out. Staff was excellent!
Extremely frustrated by billing and nurse team. Continues to add more stress to patients by not being on top of billing and insurance paperwork, puts all approval work on patients to complete. Even had issues when paying out of pocket a few years ago. If I had time, I would find another place, preferably a smaller location, to go through.
If you are lucky to end up with Nurse Judith you are very lucky. My wife had her for a procedure and she was amazing.
Don’t have much to say but they are very irresponsible and honestly feel like a money making scam. Spend some time commuting to some other place.Sorry Dr Doyle you seem nice but your team and you guys dropped the ball and should be embarrassed.
Hi, i just want to thank Kim and sabrena whose did the HSG for me , thay were very patient and accommodating ❤️❤️ thank you so much.
Dr.Roth, Toni RN, Michelle, Maria and Angela are the people I communicate the most with. They are all absolutely the best! Professional, caring, answer every question i have and always on time. Wonderful job! Thank you for all you do.
The worst experience I ever had with clinic!!! Do not go there!!! They are so unprofessional. The first time you go they are very nice but when you walk away and go home thats when all the headache starts and now I received a bill from initial appointment that was not covered by my insurance(as they say) when I call my insurance they dont even see the claim at all..... anytime you try to contact billing department they never answer. The worst.....RUN FROM THERE
Very wonderful experience with Staff/Doctors. Professional and caring during this time. I would highly recommend SGF. For those who are unable to afford the full services, ask to be included and participate in one of their research studies. This was our opportunity to afford the treatment.
I am so disappointed with the clinical process at the clinic, team were clueless and rough during the surgical procedure. My doctor called me and just said sorry for something She should take care before she puts me under all this stress.
This facility helped my husband and I have a family, which for some time felt like it may not ever happen. Everyone was so positive and knowledgeable. They held our hand the entire way and always kept us reassured!!
The facility was clean, comfortable and very well maintained. I had been in contact with the staff as an out of area patient before going into the clinic but the facilities did not disappoint. I would recommend my physician to anyone who is looking for a fertility clinic.
From the assistant manager to every staff member here is extremely insensitive, indifferent, and rude. They treat you worse than an animal. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.
Don’t waste your time! Their customer service is nonexistent and the entire experience will have you feeling like your time and money isn’t valued. Unfortunately, their lack of communication makes an important, personal and emotional journey seem rather impersonal and extremely stressful.
Good afternoon,Followed Nurses instructions to contacted SGF Rockville and I only receive voicemail. There is no Nurse or Receptionist that answered the phone.Best,K
Fantastic Customer Service! Excellent doctors and nurses. I highly recommend this location and the doctors who work at this facility.
Professional, polite and sensitive staff and physicians.
*My experience Shady Grove Fertility*First of all when some one going or calling to this kind place they except good treatment and customer service but they end up the other way Unprofessional staff members they disrespectful they dont even let you talk if they want they will hangup the phone and cancelled my appointment Twice without any reason
My wife highly enjoyed her experience with Shady Grove Fertility. She is now going to donate in our current location in hopes to have the same great experience.
Dr. Doyle and my nurse Alexa are the best of the best... I love them! The Rockville office staff are excellent.
Without Dr Sagoskin and staff of Shadygrove I wont be a mother . I try of IVF my son now 5 years . Finger cross for baby #2 . In March
We’ve had positive experiences with everyone so far but Zura especially was wonderful!
I highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility to anyone who is struggling to get pregnant or who just has questions about their Fertility. I have felt nothing but optimistic about my own situation.
Everyone from the receptionist to the doctors and nurses are so friendly! I was in and out for my procedure. Very pleased!
Worst experience, staff and doctor didn’t care at all, we made a mistake by going in there. Do not go there, save your money and time!
Successful experience with Dr Roth, and her Nurse Dew!Thank you for your care!
I had a wonderful experience
I tried signing up to donate and it has been a chaotic mess!!The people were rude and just absolutely disrespectful especially Yasmin.
Feels like they are more interested in the money than they are helping there patients
Very kind staff
