This place is just overwhelmed it seems. Every step of the appointment process requires a long wait. I waited on hold for 20 minutes only to have the receptionist hang up on me two times in a row. Then I waited for 55 minutes to speak with someone. Once you arrive things are no different and my last appointment was almost 2 hours long. I feel the doctors are too busy to care and just struggling to get through the day-like we all are. I know medical work is hard, but I am going to find a new facility for my womens health needs.
Dr Klevens is the best OB ever! I have been seeing her since I was in my early 20s. She recently delivered my 2nd baby, and for both kids I regularly made the trek (45 min each way) from Hollywood just to see her. She makes you feel calm, comfortable and isn’t an alarmist. I also had an IUD put in last week for the first time by Dr Klevens and her team and was really nervous after all the recent headlines about IUD insertion pain. I literally felt nothing!! Mild cramping after but nothing compared to postpartum periods.I have to add that most of the other reviews are accurate when it comes to the front desk and wait times (the number of times I was caller #14 or 15!!) and they just seem constantly understaffed. However- this has improved drastically in the last few years.
Similar to some other people who have written reviews, I actually really liked and respected the provider I saw here. The front desk staff, on the other hand, are the reason I sought care elsewhere. I completely lost trust in care at this establishment due to some incidents with the front desk staff. I wont detail it here, but it was very enough to make me never want to come back. Also, for my first appointment, I was seen by the provider nearly 2 hours after my appointment start time (not the providers fault, and I understand things happen, but this was incovenient and uncomfortable, as well).
The staff was nice and Dr. Tilles was wonderful and caring. She came to the medical conclusion that I have endometriosis and did other exams to make sure it wasnt anything else as well as seeing where the pain was specifically in my body. The only gripe I have is that there was no notification that my insurance didnt cover much of anything because they were out of contract with them. I had called a month in a half in advanced to set up my appointment to where they could have checked if my insurance was going to cover it or not. Instead I got billed almost a month after my visit letting me know I owed them around $2,100. $1,100 was from the HPV vaccine. 😞 Oh America.
This review is for the front desk staff and scheduling staff. Dr. Bohn was a good doctor. But her front desk staff was rude. I was referred for an emergency procedure today. It was impossible to get anybody on the phone. When I finally did I was met with perhaps the RUDEST front desk staff.Instead of listening to my concerns and realizing that I was dealing with a serious issue and perhaps nervous about it. She told me to calm down and hung up on me.I don’t know about you, but when dealing with woman’s health issues I want somebody with empathy that is human. I will not return to this office. I’d rather be in pain a few more weeks and find somebody who doesn’t treat me like that.
I’m so sad to read of others reviews and negative experiences because although I only had my first visit today, I had such a great experience. I had a change in insurance and was scrambling to find a new doctor (at 15 weeks pregnant). I tried for weeks with UCLA Health, only to get an appt. over a month later with a doctor that wasn’t even in my top 6 choices, at all locations within the LA area. I was feeling really defeated and decided to give Providence/Santa Monica Women’s Health a try, and they were able to get me in a few days later, with my doctor of choice! Dr. Parks made me feel so assured and comfortable, and just had such a great energy. The front desk and rest of the staff were friendly and really helpful. Big thank you to Karen for really advocating to get me in asap - she could probably tell how stressed and defeated I felt. I’m so happy I found Santa Monica Women’s Health. Only con, and this doesn’t have to do with the office, is the parking rate for the medical center - $2.50/15 mins.
Come here if you want to be treated like cattle and a number. I made an appointment over a month ago. I confirmed that appointment twice and when I got there, I wasn’t the system they didn’t know why I was there and the doctor I was scheduled to see was on vacation. when I asked them what they were going to do about it, they said they didn’t have room for me today and they don’t see walk-ins so I said they were incompetent and I left and went downstairs to my original Doctor who will be staying with because they actually accommodated me immediately. Avoid at all costs.
The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. It seems like that’s a common sentiment based on existing reviews. Would not recommend.
I would give them 0/5 stars if I was able to. In January I went in for my first prenatal appointment. When speaking with the doctor, I denied getting genetic testing done. This was noted in my chart. However, the genetic test was still done without my permission. I received a bill for over $700 because of this.I spoke with my doctor, who said she would get it taken care of. March comes around and I am still receiving notifications for the bill. I am then told to talk to the office manager. Since March, I have been able to reach her once. I have left voicemails, notes with the front office staff, and waited on hold countless times for her. Every time I call she has “just left the office”.Instead of owning up to their malpractice, they are completely ignoring me. I am now in collections and still have no answers.
I love my doctor by the secretaries are terrible. Every time I need to call, I wait more than 20 MINUTES and nobody answers to me. And when I press to call back, they call me after hours. It’s very hard to book and reschedule appointments in a place like this.
The front desk staff never greet me upon walk in when I say hello. I always stand there for at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledges me even though they’re not on the phone. I feel like I’m invisible here. I was so excited to find a good gynecologist and I drive an hour to get here but after the experiences I have had with the people on staff, I am looking for a different doctor
Dr.Di Julio and her staff did a wonderful job making me feel very comfortable and taken care of. Front office staff were friendly and patient with working with my insurance. Office was comfortable and had a great ambience. Dr. Di Julio a attended to all my needs and made me feel respected and taken care of. I would highly recommend Santa Monica Womens health for an all around great experience. Thank you!!
UPDATE: Have to go to one-star after this. I went in for a preventative visit and was billed over $300 for a preventative PAP. Ive left four voicemails for their billing department which have all gone unanswered. I spoke to the receptionist and she said she had no idea when they would be back and transferred me to the business office whose phone didnt even ring, simply stating this voice mail is full before clicking off. If youre going to bill outside of insurance and not even work to rectify it, why do patients even bother having insurance here...The Doctors here have always been lovely but the receptionists on the phone are always incredibly rude. I just called to make an appointment for a health concern and they just said well if youd called earlier, maybe I could help. Theyll randomly hang up on the phone without any assistance. For people working in the medical field, youd expect a bit more of a bedside manner.
Terrible customer service. Called to confirm my appointment right when they opened since I never received any email confirmation. Was told there was one caller in front me, ended up waiting almost 40 minutes on hold. Called again and the woman at the front desk kept interrupting me and said she would call me back. No thanks! Should have payed better attention to the reviews.
I’ve never been to an OBGYN where you can see the doctor, have an ultrasound, and get blood drawn all in the same office. Such a great experience. They are offering a very high level of care.
Dr. Parks is an excellent OB. She is an advocate for her patients, attentive, respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful. She has been lovely to have as my doctor.
