I have a medical phobia and this place is literally healing. They were so kind to accommodate me when I said I faint during blood work. They gave me gummies and laid me down and got me cozy. She was so clean and fast ! Not even a drip on my bandaid. Everyone was so professional and good at what they do. And when I walked out I was already notified with my follow up for info about migraines I had concerns of. I’m really thankful I get to come here. ❤️
Pros: The staff and doctors are great. The place is cute, which honestly isnt important to me at all but its obviously a big priority for them. Ive loved every person Ive come in contact with there.Cons: The scheduling, billing, and website are AWFUL. The site is pretty but horrible to navigate and way too confusing. You cant just go in to get an injection or get the implant or IUD. You have to go for a consult, wait days for them to order it and get it in, then go BACK another time. Its such a waste of time and it adds so much stress to an already stressful process. They also take days to answer messages and theres no easy way to contact your PCP, everything has to go through the care team coordinators. Twice Ive had pretty sensitive health issues that I really needed to get in contact with someone about because I was lost and scared and didnt know what my next steps were and instead of being able to call during the hours they say theyre taking calls (11am EST to 9pm EST) Ive listened to their little hold music for over five minutes and then gotten sent to voicemail. Then, since theyre supposed to be open, Ive sent a message in my portal. It took two days to hear back. I know thats fairly standard in medicine but to me, the whole point of this place was that they were empathetic to womens health issues and the biggest issue Ive struggled with is feeling heard.I want to love this place so much, the staff are so kind. Its close so its still where I go. Tia just NEEDS to get it together on the process and systems side of things. The site is a mess, splitting what should be a simple appointment into a series of appointments with SLOW communication in the middle is agonizing.
The office itself is very stylish with amazing modern design and high attention to details (woman toiletries in the restrooms, atlas robes etc). The doctor was very friendly. Cons: ultrasound results took forever (4 weeks instead of 5 business days) and chat support sometimes simple doesn’t reply to requests.
Tia is the most disrespectful to its customers time. Not only have I had three messed up appointments on the behalf of their care team but I’ve just simply been billed to not use the service!!This stores is sterile and unfriendly and no one speaks a word to you when you walk in other than a check-in and a hello. The providers were great but the service that you provide is not. I have been billed for not using the service. Hundreds of dollars down the drain for quite literally nothing and no service!!!
I am a Tia member since last year and I have had great experiences at other locations except for this Santa Monica location. I needed some medical clearance paperwork filled out in which I had to keep hounding them to fill it out by a very sensitive deadline. Not once did they keep me in the loop. Wanted to speak to the location clinical manager and the regional clinical manager and no one to this day has cared to address the issue and return my call. Fully ignored!
First time being at Tia Santa Monica and it was a great experience! I’m not a big fan of the doctors office like most people but I didn’t feel nervous at all. The front desk receptionist was very nice and welcoming, as well as the person that took me to my room and took my blood pressure. The nurse practitioner, I believe her name was Stephanie, was very kind and gentle with everything that she did. A wonderful place to go for anyone who has anxiety about doctors offices!
Tia does a lot of things right, and they also do some things...not-so-great. My first visit to Tia was amazing and really did feel revolutionary - the clinic is beautifully designed, there are free teas and trendy womens health books in the waiting room, and everyone working there is really sweet. My NP came to see me almost right away, and spent a good chunk of time listening to me yammer on about all of my problems - she didnt rush away, diminish me, or dismiss anything I was saying. Its the most heard Ive ever felt in a medical environment (shoutout to Dr. Kate Wisda!) Unfortunately, because referrals are outside of Tia, youre back to dealing with the rest of the traditional healthcare system once you leave Tias walls.Needless to say, getting pap smears, ultrasounds, and sonograms at Tia is MUCH more pleasant here than in a traditional doctors office. Acupuncture at Tia is a particularly luxurious experience, especially at the Santa Monica clinic - the treatment rooms are gorgeous, there are ocean sounds, dimmable lights, and heated tables. Now for what I found disappointing:- There is no consistent PCP. Because they have rotating practitioners, over the 1.5 years Ive been at Tia, Ive never had the same doctor twice. This means I spend a lot of time giving each new NP background information whenever I have an appointment, rather than building a relationship with one doctor who knows me well.- Before you can schedule an in-person appointment to see a doctor, you have to first have a Zoom call with an NP, no matter what happened in your last in-person appointment. These Zoom calls slow down how quickly you can get into a clinic. Some of the Zoom calls were very brief and completely pointless - I even had an NP tell me over Zoom that I just have to get better to treat a chronic immune condition. And yes, you do pay for each virtual visit.- On several occasions, I had to message them repeatedly to get blood test or MRI results. Because someone from the Care Coordination team answers messages in the web app, you may have several different people responding in the same thread. This meant I was asking several different people the same question, and receiving different, or useless, answers, until an NP took over to give me my results.- I have a preferred name that I go by - and despite being a progressive clinic, they repeatedly deadname me. Its a seemingly small thing that can be really triggering, and I hope they can live up to their own values of inclusivity by understanding this or building it into their systems. They clearly put a lot into making the clinics beautiful, and I would love to see them put more resource sinto their process of providing actual care. Im grateful for Tia, and Im glad we now have Tia as an option - its awesome to have a safe space, designed for us, and I also wish it were better, especially on the admin and communications end.
Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I do not want to relive my trauma writing my whole experience, but imagine me copying and pasting the bad reviews on here as what happened to me also. I am very jealous and a bit shocked about the good reviews on here. Maybe they pick and choose who to traumatize but forget being able to get a hold of anyone when you have an issue. I am still trying to contact someone to cancel my monthly subscription (that I had no idea I was paying). I am flabbergasted that a clinic would charge a monthly subscription. Please dont bother leaving them messages, they will not return your call. I wrote multiple messages and called so many times to beg them to help me or at least care for me as a person/patient. NOPE. This place may be hip and trendy but an absolute joke as a health care provider.Shout out to Mikala in continuation team though. The absolute only one who tried to help.
This is advertised as being better care than a regular doctor and its not. Theres a los nothing holistic about it although the website says so. I had numerous tests run but no progress made in getting a diagnosis. They gave up pretty quickly actually. Also the billing department has problems consistently. I was charged twice for the same thing and Im still awaiting a refund. Its frustrating since when I call no one answers and the care coordinator chat takes days to get a reply from. If youre here hoping for holistic personalized care to solve health problems youve had no answers to I dont recommend coming to Tia.
My doctor Kelsey was amazing. I was nervous for my appointment and she did great job at making me feel at ease and calm. I would recommend coming here and especially to Kelsey if you’re looking for IUD insertion/removal.
Tia finally listened to me when other OBGYNs were not and has supported me in finding the right HRT for my transition to menopause backed by data. I just had my annual at the Santa Monica office and Ive never felt more respected or comfortable. I have never left a doctors office smiling but I was absolutely giddy (e.g. silk robes instead of paper gowns). I find their communication platform far superior to dealing with the long phone trees and stressed out staff of traditional offices. I love them. Thank you Tia!
Best doctors visit Ive had! When I arrived everyone was friendly and professional, especially the front desk staff Tiara and Julianna. Drawing labs and getting my flu shot were painless thanks to Lynette! And I didn’t have to sit in the office for an hour to be seen by my provider. Jennie assisted me immediately and started my appointment with my vitals. My provider Stephanie was so kind and knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable and answered every question I had. So happy to have found Tia!
For my visit, I felt so welcomed and cared for. The beautiful space felt nothing like a “doctor’s office” but as if I were visiting a very cool friend’s home 😀.My procedure - one I usually dread - was pleasant, due to Vanessa’s patience, good humor and skill. Then, my Accupuncture service was wonderful: Dr. Leahtook extra special care and her soothing demeanor only enhanced the service. My initial (virtual) session with Nurse Alex was great: she was engaging, compassionate , all the while very thorough in her assessment.I’m very glad I found Tia on IG and took the chance to explore a new way to manage my gynecological care.Awesome team! (…just need a DTLA location and I’d be set!! 👍🏽🙏🏽)
The best experience. The last ultrasound I had at another clinic was traumatic and part of the reason I moved to a women’s centric clinic. The place is clean and calm and the technician was really careful to ensure I felt comfortable.
I just want to say that the experience I had at Tia was horrible. Stephanie Kim was horrible. Not only did she not try and help me with my pain management but she came into my appointment already made up in her mind that she wasn’t going to help. The RN was very nice and seemed sympathetic to my pain and understood what I was asking. Stephanie Kim couldn’t wrap her head around that fact I was already taking medication even though I told her I was going to run out before my appointment with my spine doctor. I had to sit through this appointment with a DR who knew full well they didn’t want to help me. When I went through my history she kept interrupting me and would roll her eyes. When I explained what I felt I needed to make it to my next appointment she treated me as if I was some addict looking to score. When I started to cry because I knew she she wasn’t going to help me she left the room as fast as she could. Like I said before I was a patient she couldn’t be bothered with and now I am patient that doesn’t want to trust my health with a group that doesnt care about me. I will be telling anyone who will listen about my experience here. Because as a patient this is no way to be treated.
I had an amazing experience here, everyone was so sweet. They put a lot of effort into creating a safe, inclusive space for women and it shows. Tip: get there early, they have a strict late policy (because they’re a business and value the time of their employees +clients) they have delicious drinks and an amazing waiting room and there’s a parking garage right next door (I think the first hour is free or maybe I went on a day when there was no parking fee idk but you can look it up). Anyway, great clinic, would recommend to everyone. I mostly go to the sunset location because I live closer to that one. I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews, not my experience.
I really wish I’d known about Tia YEARS ago, and I’m sure I am not alone on that. In the regular healthcare system setup, women’s healthcare can beexperientially horrible and sometimes traumatizing. I think the women practitioners and team who work on the virtual platform &in-person are fabulous. I would highly recommend you 10x your healthcare experience for a more boutique, elegant and customized experience NOW. You’re welcome.
The best experience always at TIA! My NP Stephanie was phenomenal! Answered all my questions and I never feel rushed when I am there. She also is so knowledgeable and personable, which is so important with health care. My blood draw was quick and painless with Lynette and my MA, Desirae, was lovely!
Tia is no more helpful and even less organized than a regular doctors office. I joined expecting more of a holistic approach to documenting my health journey and instead find myself chasing their team down for appointments, still very much needing to advocate for myself just like anywhere else. Youre constantly being shuffled to different doctors, which makes it even more difficult, and rescheduling with anyone you like is almost impossible. I often will get sent doctors on the east side when I live in Santa Monica. Tia could have been a great solution for women, but seems theyre understaffed and unclear on their offerings. Ive been trying to cancel my membership and cant find anyone to help. Do not recommend :\
I want to like Tia, I really do but dealing with their care coordinators has been nothing short of a nightmare. I have reached out to care coordinators almost daily to get an update on the status of a prior authorization they were supposed to have submitted and then a subsequent appeal to the prior authorization being denied due to Tia not including adequate information in the prior authorization. There is a total lack of urgency on there part and its almost as if Im bothering them by following up on the status. They dont respond to messages or phone calls and I am going on 2 months of having to pay for medication that I need out of pocket due to them not getting the PA or appeals approved because they are not putting basic required details in the submissions. My nurse practitioner, Lara Baldwin has been a joy to work with. She is kind, knowledgeable and provides excellent care. Shes truly the only reason Im still dealing with Tia.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Best team, best care, best office. I absolutely always look forward to going. Everyone is so kind and caring. I actually felt heard when I expressed my issues. That the team cared and wanted to figure out what was causing my issues. Love, love, love this place.
DO NOT TRUST YOUR HEALTH WITH THIS CLINIC. There are ZERO doctors on site. You speak only with registered nurses. The care coordinators may as well be automated machines and no one at the clinic had any urgency or care for multiple situations. I was a patient briefly while I was experiencing very serious health issues and the worst was after getting an ultrasound to see if I had cancer it took four weeks of calling and trying to get a hold of someone to tell me what my results were before I had to just give up and go back to my old doctor to have ANOTHER ultrasound done. Now, an entire year later they send me a bill for an ultrasound I never even got results for. I’ve heard from many people that their experience has been similar.
I was in the Santa Monica area and decided to check out the clinic space since I’ve seen all the ads & wanted to inquire more about their services. Beautiful space! Tiara was super helpful and showed me the space while answering all my questions & even verified my insurance for me & gave me a code to help save on my membership.
I never post reviews like this but I want to warn others. This is a monthly subscription type company (just to be a member - doesnt include appt. charges.) I was charged and have yet to even get my initial virtual appt. / exam. Had yet to get the opportunity to schedule the in person appt. at the Santa Monica location. It has been 2 months and both of my appts. were cancelled late by the providers. Last time was minutes before my appt. and this time was 30 minutes into my appt. time where the provider never showed up. I have worked in healthcare for years and understand things happen but this is by far the worst experience. I wanted to try something different knowing that it is difficult to get into PCPs but this is not it. Super bummed - was looking forward to everything publicized on all the advertisements. Companies should stop spending so much on social media advertisements and put that time, energy and money into their real life paying patients or clients.
My initial experience with Tia was nice, relaxing atmosphere, friendly receptionist. However, it’s coming upon a month that I’ve been waiting for test results. I had to make an account with the lab they use so I could see what was happening for myself. I found out that during my appointment there wasn’t a sufficient specimen taken to even perform the test. I don’t know why they didn’t inform me, but they certainly charged up my insurance company. I’ve called and left messages through their portal all of which they’ve ghosted me. I called the clinic a few days ago and both reps I spoke to had an attitude once they heard I was trying to get more information about my labs and inquiring as to why the provider never told me about the failed test. I’m currently trying to sort through all the claims they filed with my insurance because I’m getting out of network charges and they were supposed to be in network work through UHC. I even had a UHC rep call on my behalf and they hung up in her face. Terrible customer service and it makes no sense why, especially when they presented their clinic in a professional light to start. I thought I was finally getting some answers about my health… so terribly disappointing.
Awful experience. Came in for acupuncture as visiting LA from NYC and was left waiting with no indication of the extent of the delay. Finally I had to ask the receptionist with an “I don’t wanna be here” attitude who just canceled the appointment without apologizing or even bothering to wait until I confirmed I indeed wished to cancel. While Tia in NYC is far from perfect, LA seems to be even worse… I am switching providers this fall when my membership ends.
This company doesn’t even try to hide that it prioritizes profits over patient care. Completely unresponsive and left me in a dangerous situation with my prescriptions.
I love the idea of this and my first in person appointment was very informative. What I dont like is that:1. You have to make a virtual appointment every damn time you want to actually go in to see the Dr personally.2. The NP that handles the virtual appointment is 10+ mins late or doesnt show up.3. Its a membership based service that is more of a hassle, see points 1 and 2 than going to a Drs office.
Highly do not recommend. They do not follow their own times for scheduled appointments. I arrived three minutes after my appointment, due to construction, that I was not notified about, and was told I was past my grace period. They also tried to say that they texted me telling me about the construction, but I pulled up my phone to show them otherwise. Apparently they require you to be there 10 minutes before your appointment, even though you scheduled a specific time for your appointment. The two founders do not even have medical field backgrounds. I was very excited for a female lead medical Center, but I will go back to One Medical, where your appointment time is actually your appointment time!
Tia is the nicest doctor’s office I have ever been to. I would definitely recommend it to all of my friends. Their office staff is great too. Jules at the Santa Monica location is very nice, friendly, and helpful.
I have been a Tia member for several years, and I agree with some of the other negative reviews here about switching providers, lack of continuity of care, and having to answer a series of intake questions that medical staff seem to ignore. I have been told by one Tia doctor (seen virtually) to go into the office and do a blood test, and then gone in and been told by a nurse that the test the doctor ordered was inappropriate for my situation. I’ve had two different nurses try unsuccessfully to draw my blood four times. The Santa Monica location in particular seems ill equipped to perform its most basic functions—there is no MD at this location; if you want to see a doctor, you will have to go elsewhere or see a Tia doctor virtually.
Beautiful space, front desk staff & medical assistant were friendly but other than that it was an awful experience. They have you fill out a questionnaire that takes forever and they do not address any of your concerns or even mention it when you are there in person. There were two women in the room one of which was supposed to be for primary care and the other a gyno and to this day I still have no idea which was which. One of them did nothing but stand there and ask me how the weather was outside. The other touched my stomach, asked me two questions that were in my questionnaire that she clearly didn’t read then left and had the medical assistant do bloodwork. Would never go back.
Worse than any clinic or hospital. They have no idea what they’re doing, the place is complete chaos. They schedule appointments back to back and rush you out as fast as possible. They try to push their over priced acupuncture for everything and very aggressively. I don’t care about the cool robes enough to place my health in these incompetent organization. Avoid at all costs.
They’ve been nothing but wonderful—I am always in and out. Care is super female-centric and they explain everything they are doing in a very calming way. They even turned down the lights and turned up the music in several procedures I’ve had to make it more relaxing.
I truly had an amazing 1st visit at Tia . The initial reviews scared me a bit . However, my experience was nothing less than educational and caring from everyone in the space . They made me feel welcome and with that I highly recommend .
Tia booked the wrong appointment for me. Drove 1.5 hours for nothing then wouldnt even help me book the right place for the appointment- I messaged your care coordinator...Let me have a panic attack in the lobby without any help and they call themselves a medical clinic.
My appointment was at 10, I called at 10:09 to tell them I’d be late, and I parked at 10:13. When I came inside and asked to be seen (they haven’t had an open appointment for the past 3 days anywhere in LA), they told me that they couldn’t do anything about it since I came past their 10 minute late mark. I drove 40 minutes to get here while sick and nobody could see me. When I came inside and asked to be seen, the doctor told me that they’re going to have to ask me to leave since I can’t be seen since I was late (admittedly, my fault but I’ve had major stomach issues the past 3 days). They miraculously came up with an appointment time in 3 hours, but the only physician for the day was the one who told me that I’d have to leave and by that point I felt too uncomfortable to be seen by anyone at this location. Tia is awful. Now I’m crying in my car, still sick, and can’t be seen by anyone. On hold with one medical now to see if I can get an appointment.
The clinic in person is great but Im getting charged crazy amounts of claims that I was unaware of and they are not transparent about insurance. I feel misled to be honest. I would not use Tia again, unfortunately :(
Went in for a simple check up and Tiara helped me get checked in and situated. She was very kind and patient showed me around the front and helped me with what to expect in my recent visit.
Diana made me feel so comfortable and my care was not rushed at all. Also love how easy it is to get a sane day appointment.
Stephanie is the best!!! I had a few follow up questions I sent on the portal and to ensure we were on the same page she called me to make sure I understood the best route for me
I had a great experience here. The staff were friendly and I was seen promptly after my arrival. The provider was thorough and helpful and the space itself was very calming.
Worst experience ever. The staff were unprofessional and rude. Not recommending this place at all.
Staff is so so kind every single time it is a very safe experience. Super conveniently located near parking structures right in downtown Santa Monica !
Wonderful staff. Pristine facilities. My go to for anything female healthcare related.
Great medical staff! I felt very comfortable and taken care of during my visit.
Was treated well and would absolutely recommend Tia!
The best
