They say theyre open until 5? They are not. They routinely close early, like 10 min early. If thats what they want to do they should post that on their website or say no more walk ins after a certain point. I drove 11 miles on Friday to get bloodwork done and they were completely locked up and lights out at 4:50pm. I chose that location because it was the only one open after 4 which I needed. I knocked on the door and one person was behind the counter, stared briefly and walked away. This is the second time this location has done this to me. Another time an elderly couple showed up at ten til and they also were turned away. One of them was on a walker. The employees did not care.If you post your open until 5 and the door says 5, stay open until 5.Absolutely let your provider know, maybe they can refer you to somebody else. All that said, most of the employees are nice to deal with so I dont know who makes the decision to lock up early.Im going to take my business to Lab Corp if thats practical. Ive done a lot of draws with Sonora averaging at least one per month so maybe Lab Corp will appreciate that. My doc doesnt like Sonora either but they are the biggest so what do you do. Sonora could use some completion for sure.
The staff at this location are great! My phlebotomist Brandy was wonderful. I didnt make an appointment & my wait time was comparable to if I had, about 10 minutes. The only negative is that the place seems kind of run down, like theyre not putting money into upkeep? The toilet had some weird loud pump hooked up to it, the kiosk at the door allows room for 2 in line before youre waiting outside, but the staff clearly do their best to make it comfortable.I used the toilet twice and it was clean the first time, but the second was awful. That was obviously from a patient, but it would be nice to have a hook for bags & some disinfecting wipes in there.
I walked in without an appointment to get a blood test my doctor ordered. Got there when it opened and there were already 5-10 people that but it went really quickly. I was out in 15 minutes. The staff was very professional.
This office is a mess. I arrived 15 mins early for my appointment as requested and wasn’t seen until 40 mins after my scheduled time. Mind you - I had my test scheduled before 10 AM because I was fasting and that was the time suggested by my medical provider to get the most accurate test results. As I was waiting there I witnessed the front desk basically be of no help to anyone that came up to them with an issue or for help checking in. (Not all elderly people are computer savvy, the least you can do is manually check them in. I’m wondering why they had people at the front desk at all if they were just going to sit there and do nothing)The only reason this location is getting two stars is because the lab tech completed my blood draw quickly and painlessly. She seemed to be the only efficient person in the building. Get it together people. Covid was years ago, It’s no longer an excuse for the complete lack of organization and customer service this location provides. Do better.
Edit: big improvement from my last visit! Im impressed, seemed like all new staff was there, everyone was pleasant and polite. They had compression tape this time and made sure I was good to go before I left.Usually really busy, kiosks dont scan the barcode you get if you have an appointment. Staff is not friendly. They also use adhesive tape instead of compression tape which usually results in unnecessary bleeding as another review noted.
I had an appointment and was in and out in 40 minutes. My phlebotomist, Haya, was wonderful. She made me feel comfortable and was able to draw blood from my arm, where most other phlebotomists struggle to do so. I cannot say enough good things about her specifically!
I had such a good experience at this location. People were friendly from the start. Checking in was easy and I didnt have to wait long. Giselle (I believe was her name) was my techinician; she was so kind and good at her job, she got my vein on the first try
I had a great experience. I made an appt the same day, got in within 5 min of appt time. The women who drew 6vials of blood did a great job!
Terrible. Second time scheduling an appointment and waiting 30 minutes and still not getting in. Appointments mean nothing to these people. No apologies. Nothing. Do not give them business. No respect for your time.
There’s no point in making an appointment because there’s always a huge line. They also never have the doctor’s order stored. I realize there aren’t many options for quest around here but it would be nice if they prioritized appt times.
Staff was quite lovely and helpful - and the phlebotomist was very effective. However, the office does not seem to run on time. And the parking situation is not the best, it did not bother me however, I heard quite a few older people mention it.
Patients Beware, once in a lifetime could happen to you too, and at this site the outcomes are NOT GOOD...I do not want to paint the entire staff here with a bad brush as I have had other labs here and everything was fine, so as always I assumed good outcomes _ Wrong! I will be withholding names for obvious reasons.Last week I went for a blood draw at 2:45 p,.m. and specifying that I had a meal an hour before and was not fasting. OOPS, all results were reported as Fasting thereby skewed several results. As I was to learn that was the nicest part of my experience!Enter from Stage Left the phlebotomist from hell complaining about not having a break all day, working non-stop and couldnt wait to get out at 5:00 pm. The rubber tourniquet went on and then without trying to find a vein like always came the stab in the arm - ouch! Oh dont worry Ill find a vein , take a breath. Two vials later a folded piece of gauze and a barely small piece of tape and youre good to go.On the way out I went to say good bye to the receptionists and raised my arm to see blood pouring down my arm and off my hand - I mean pouring! Someone yelled get this guy back there; who did this. Enter the phlebotomist once more - Someone else said why no compression bandage, fix this. Oh yes did I mention the blue dress shirt that was soaked with blood. Yup, it could happen to you too, beware. The next day a lady at the main lab transcribed a lengthy message to the site supervisor with my cell number, told me she marked Urgent and that I would no doubt hear from then immediately. I have the supervisors name and have never heard from them. Next day a similar call and voicemail message was left for the CEO of Sonora Quest asking respectfully that he or his representative call me to discuss and prevent this from happening to other patients. That was a week and half ago - never heard from him or his office either. Guess its all about Big Business now, not patient well-bing or safety. So there is a reason they have a 2.9 rating - seems there is a lot of mismanagement and lack of quality control at this location. I surely will never go back there and most likely never hear from anyone. As I said - Patients Beware!
Best Sonora quest location I’ve been to! They were super fast! I’ve never seen a location move people in and out so fast. Front desk was very polite. And Maria who did my blood draw was great! I’m one to faint with needles so she had me lay down for it and talked me through everything and kept me distracted. I barely felt a poke and she got it done fast!
I want to give a huge shoutout to the phlebotomist Brandy. My daughter suffers with extreme anxiety, and she handled her with compassion and care. I couldn’t be more thankful for how patient and understanding she was at our visit, and she made the whole experience a breeze. Thank you so much, Brandy. You are amazing. 🤍
Check in was easy to use and super quick. I had no appointment time and was seen in under 15 minutes as a walk-in. I had Didi as my lab tech today and she was fabulous! Quickest and easiest lab draw I have ever had! She was professional and calming which made the blood draw go very smoothly. Excellent patient care today, thanks Didi!
Disappointingly Delayed Test result!I am writing this review to express my frustration and disappointment with the excessive delay in receiving test results from this location. The prolonged wait and lack of communication surrounding the test results have left me deeply dissatisfied with the level of service provided.I entrusted this facility with an important screening test, and it was clearly communicated to me that the results would be available within a reasonable timeframe. However, the reality was far from what was promised. The waiting period stretched far beyond what could be considered acceptable, causing undue stress and anxiety.
I was late for my apt so while I was flying down the freeway I called and called but they didn’t pic up. I was ready to go to war by the time I got there, but my sails deflated completely when I arrived because they were so friendly. They got me in despite me being 20 minutes late. The front staff could sense my anxiety and since I had forgotten my glasses, they filled out the forms for me! Who does that??These extreme professionals deserve to have statues erected in their names.
I understand how strange it is to leave a review for a biomedical lab but I just wanted to give Giselle (I hope that’s how you spell it) some SERIOUS kudos. I’ve had my blood drawn many times and Giselle was by far the most pleasant, efficient, caring phlebotomist i’ve encountered. I was so impressed by her positivity and was even more impressed to learn that she was extremely skilled. It’s not uncommon for me to be queasy or resistant to be poked but Giselle found the best vein with absolute ease and made such nice conversation that I seriously didn’t even realize she had already poked me. The appointment couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes but in those ten minutes it was apparent that Giselle genuinely cared about her patients and that sonora quest values patient care. Super impressive, thank you Giselle!
I had no appointment and I waited about 10 minutes. Went at 1:30 or so on a Friday (today). I had a superb blood draw, performed by Rebecca (I am 95% sure that’s her name). I’m used to routine blood work so I know when someone has “good” technique (where you barely feel it and it’s just a little pinch.) She was phenomenal. We chatted about her kids and how she’s been doing this for 13 years. She was just so friendly and helped take my mind off the needle :) I will go back here again.
Terrible treatment from the gal upfront taking my insurance. She held out her hand not saying anything. So I thought she wanted her pen back. Then she screams at me for the paperwork. Im thinking if just speak like a normal person Id know what you want. I didnt schedule an appointment so I knew it wouldnt be fast. What I didnt expect was to be jumped in line by people who also didnt have an appointment. I started at 8 in line drop down to 2. Then I go back up to 5! I would avoid this place if you can. I will say the lady who drew my blood was nice and professional.
I went to this location and interacted with about 5 to 6 members of the staff. Only one person was nice. The rest of them were incredibly rude, impolite, disrespectful, and unprofessional. You can tell that the people who work there just don’t care. Most especially, there was one girl in particular who was working the front desk, and she was incredibly rude and definitely did not care about my time. She acted as if it was a chore to help me and to do her job. I will not be going back here.
This is by far the best Sonora Quest I’ve been to. I apparently was the only one who made an appointment so immediately after checking in, I was seen. First time that has ever happened. My phlebotomist was very good (no pain) and was nice.Would definitely prefer this location to any of the others I’ve been to.Tip: the office is in the back of the building near the main parking lot.
The front desk gal, Jess leaves a lot to be desired. She does not even speak in complete sentences. She literally says, what and the translation is what doc referred you. It took 3x before another staff member had to step in and speak for her. As I obviously, did not know what meant as it is very broad. I will not return to this to watch Jess roll her eyes, stare at me and mumble, what!
Let’s be honest. Anyone who says they had a GREAT experience here is obviously use to receiving subpar customer service. The admins were absolutely dreadful and how they spoke to people was disgusting and demeaning. Do you have an office manager to control this type of behavior?… Definitely short staffed but not sure how that’s a patients problem when you’re billing my insurance a god forsaken amount. These types of companies need to be held accountable for their gross practices. Ps I am not disgruntled, they make 7 billion in profit a year… Just letting the people know they have the capabilities to do better.
As a manager myself I thought the management group would want feedback but, I see that my bad experience is the same one expressed by many customers literally for years. Nothing but canned responses with apparently zero improvement. This is like the worst MVD or post office you could imagine, rude runs deep at the front desk nasty and just plain mean to elderly. The tech that drew my blood was the bright spot, she was great.
Just like anywhere that accepts walk-ins, I knew it was going to be a bit of a wait. I planned accordingly to fit my day. The woman at the front desk was extremely sweet and greeted me with prompt instructions. Rebecca took great care of me once I got to the back room. She knows what she is doing and made it quick and easy for me.
This lab was wonderful! I scheduled an appointment online today, but for some reason it didnt go through in the system in time. The man at the front desk was very helpful, got me all signed in and set up...and still honored my appointment! He even did the blood draw for me. It was quick and PAINLESS. I think his name was Ricardo or Rodrigo? Im bad with names, but he was awesome! Thank you for making my lab experience so easy.
Definitely the worst blood draw I’ve ever received - staff was nice enough about it but took 3 different pokes and a lottt of needle movement to get a couple of vials. A blood test shouldn’t take 20 minutes and be that painful. Both arms are sore and bruised and painful which I’ve never experienced before. Staff needs better training.
Staff is lovely & phlebotomists gently effective.I cant work with this office any more. Was great @ old locale but check in procedure inadequate and recursive. Keeps causing major hassles. And it is the only medical office Ive ever known that waits until the patient is about to go in back to find out if the visit is covered by insurance..Reception trained to direct *all* entrants to log in at kiosks. Kiosks only ask name/limited variety of appointment types and customers wait until near time for blood draw before Fasting Status, Specimen Drop Offs, Insurance Conflicts or other relevant situations discovered by staff.Since Kiosk questions inadequate, front desk staff spends much time correcting confusion caused by this.Staff also spends much time trying to direct people to log in to Kiosks, only to discover that they *do* need to talk to some of these customers instead. (For example the man I watched come in this morning to learn if he needed to fast for an upcoming test.).2 or 3 yrs ago... Only happened to glance up and see that Fasting customers are to be moved up in line on temporary, silent tv notice, 40 minutes into waiting. (RE: could this be the cause of Matt Aarons comment 7 mos ago?) Then they told me to go to LabCorp per my insurance card. But after driving to Labcorp, it turned out that the contract with my specialists office demanded Sonora Quest do it. It took 3 car rides, 2 calls to my Drs nurse practitioner, and until 4pm to get me in for my Fasting blood test..Now... Was given paperwork (Sonora Quest logo at the top) by Dr. for 24 hour urine sample with concurrent bloodwork last week. The instructions said deliver sample within half an hour of completing collection.Fri 2/28, I walked in--smilingly fended off receptionists reflexive attempt to make me log in to a Kiosk--showed her all my paperwork and asked if the test could be done there. She took a minute to check some things and said sure. I asked if Id need to keep the specimen on ice while I waited or if I should deliver it at entry and she said everything would need to wait until it was my turn for my paperwork to be processed. (RE: your response to Jeff Ws comment a year ago says otherwise).Contd...Mon 3/2, NOON, I arrived fasting, lugging a 20# ice chest full of ice and my sample & notified the receptionist I brought a chilled sample, in case that helped anyone prepare. She repeated the same info as the Friday woman and didnt pass the data to anyone. I tried logging in to a kiosk and it was taking minutes to change screens, so I switched to the other and logged in quickly. (It forced me to choose between blood draw and drop off though I needed both.) While I did this, the receptionist was confused by data the slow Kiosk was missing about the customer standing right next to me, so I informed them of the slow Kiosks odd behavior (no one was ever warned about the questionable Kiosk; customers continued to be directed to it). After a while, the receptionist asked for my insurance card and lab papers. She pinned these into a waiting position for the phlebotomist to take and asked me to sit a while more. Around 1pm, she called me up & let me know my insurance requires LabCorp--another 30 min away! Why didnt the first lady check this on Fri? Why wait an hour to check on Mon?.Why does your Kiosk system put customers on wait list without verifying insurance, asking if theyre Fasting, or asking if theyre Dropping off samples?.If changing the Kiosk questions is too costly, why not include a 5 question piece of paper at entry? (1. full name 2. insurer 3. fasting 4. dropping off sample 5. customer questions). Why isnt there a permanent sign @ checkin saying Fasting and Sample Drop Off customers can move up in line?.Why doesnt your Earl office staff know Sample Drop Offs are to be moved up in line?.Has anyone on your Management Team -- not familiar to Earl office staff-- ever sat in the waiting room at peak times and witnessed any of this Kiosk Procedures time wasting repetition & confusion??
Had a great experience here with my 12 month old. They were very accommodating, and Jessica was great ensuring I had some privacy to nurse my little girl for a minute after her blood draw. Thank you!
I would go to a different location. They don’t know how to keep customers flowing through the process and out the door. I waited for a cash price quote while almost every seat in the waiting room was full and the line grew across the room. Barely any names were called to serve while I waited. After twenty minutes of no help, I left without a quote. I went to a different location and was in and out in under twenty minutes.
I had a great experience here this morning. I brought in a lab slip with lots of different tests some of which were too complicated to do at ASU. I got there a little after 8 and to wait for about 45 minutes but I think because they were less common tests and because I didnt have an appointment. If you have Cox, there was wifi available which helped pass the time. When I came out just before 9, the lobby was pretty full. I suggest getting there by 8 or make an appointment if you dont want to wait. Ricardo helped me at the front desk and was friendly, precise, and kept me informed of progress. Cassandra was an expert phlebotomist who was also friendly. Great experience!
Cara was the best Phlebotomist I have ever had the pleasure of having. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and it usually takes 4 phlebotomists and 10 sticks to get my blood. Cara was very professional and got it right away and entirely painless which has never happened and I usually go to Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. An added plus their rates are extremely low for labs 🧪The front office was staff was professional and courteous. No wait at all♥️♥️
Have been here when they were less busy in the late afternoon, but this place is poorly managed. However, at 10:30am, tried dropping off a sample for testing. There were close to 20 people in the line for getting tested. After signing in as only needing to drop off and waiting 20 minutes, the line had moved by one person. There was no effort made or ability to just fill out paperwork for the test, and earlier when picking up the materials for the test, they would not allow prepayment when there was nobody waiting. Ended up leaving and abandoning getting the test. Lab Corp recently closing in the area has probably made the wait much worse.
I was worried cuz of all the bad reviews, but this place was great! They said the wait time would be 30 minutes and thats how long it was. The guy who took my blood was super nice and talked with me to distract me from the needle. I mean yeah, it sucks getting your blood drawn, but come on people, stop whining so much!
We were visiting Phoenix from Canada and we had to take the PCR covid test to get back to our Country. We booked our test taking into consideration the 72 hours required by the Canadian government. First we got there and there were two ladies. One of them (a white girl) was very rude. Not only with us, she was having a rude attitude with every single person that came in while we were there. The other one, gladly the one that did our test was nice and friendly. After that our test results were issued fast less than 24 hours but the sample collection dates were wrong. We took the test on the 5th and the results were showing the 4th which made this test results useless for us. We called every number they gave us and no one was willing to resolve the issue. We lost 230$ on these test as we had to do them again in order to travel out of Phoenix. I wouldnt bother going to this lab. Overall experience HORRIBLE! Find a more reliable place.
I had an appointment, showed up 20 minutes early to my appointment, only to wait for and watch other people that came in after me go ahead of me. Do not come to this location if you are in a rush or have anything to do after even with an appointment. Ive been to other locations and they were neverH as busy as this one. The staff was extremely nice and professional. Just a busy/over worked location.
This place is horrible. I set up appointment for Earl location. 2 weeks later just prior to the appointment I received a letter Earll was closed. I went on the website and filled out another appointment after searching for Biometrics near me. Twice it sent me to a location on Washington. Got there for my appointment and was told Biometric test werent performed there. They sent me to 5111 N Scottsdale. I was here 5th in line 10 minutes before opening. Its 80 minutes later, the waiting room is PACKED (COVID be damned), Im still not in, and was told 30 more... maybe. Ive fasted and left abandoned.
This Sonora Quest location is wonderful! I cant say enough good things about the phlebotomist Rebecca!!! I have a history of passing out during blood draws, but never have with her. She is very skilled, quick, and friendly! The entire process is painless and fast. As long as Rebecca is working here, I will keep coming anytime I need a blood draw!
UPDATE: This is an update. Must of been a bad day the first time I came ,2 weeks ago. This time everything was perfect! !!Front desk very efficient and pleasant. Rebeccas did an amazing job!! Not a bit of pain , everything was smooth.
Your appointment time means nothing. They will see you when it suits them. Talk about being processed, not serviced. Its crazy they accept walk-ins but cant even handle there appointments. I had an 11:00 oclock appointment and got called at 11:50.
Good Grief, Ive waited here before. I waited in there for almost 4 hours. Good lord, Sonora quest labs is the worst company. They obviously over work and understaff their employees. its so obvious that its a greedy and crappy company.I have to go to this crappy place to get blood drawn today and i just read the comment below. its 6:26 am right now. I better get my ass down there before people start getting in line. dammit!
Been good for the most part have been in and out within 30 as a walk in. The one complaint was I explained that I used to be a heroin addict and now I can get nauseous when I get blood drawn ( passed out the first time lol) so the one tech kept asking if I was okay and asking how I was feeling and I told her to stop asking. I wanted to scream shut the f*** up and Ill be fine. The point is to ignore it so that wasnt helpful lol other than that I dont have any complaints
This location is closed. Over the past year, every lab drop off sheet includes this location and not the 5111 N Scottsdale location. Please, change your info. One woman in her 80’s had stayed at the motel by the Earll address so she could walk to her labs. She went back to have them call her a cab. This is ridiculous.
Only sent results for one of my blood tests instead of two to my doctor and I was waiting to file my green card( took over 10 days)Had to phone them to do it. I would have probably been waiting a long time if I hadnt chased them up. Offered no apology.
WHY is there no FAX NMBER located anywhere in the website nor is it offered in the options when you call in to Sonora Quest..
Ive been going to Sonora Quest Labs for many years and have never had anything but a good experience. They are organized, efficient and skilled. The results were sent to my doctor immediately (the next day). Thank you Sonora Quest. Without you, my life would be far more complicated.
The staff is very nice, however; I feel that because of the convenience in location, there is not enough staff to adequately handle the volume of patients. The appointment times alone are an hour behind.
This location is PERMANENTLY CLOSED (sometime before 03-08-2022 when I called another location). Google Maps needs to update this listing to permanently closed. Per a Sonora Quest employee at another location, the Scottsdale Earll Street building owner took back the building, presumably to sell it. Consequently, Sonora Quest lost their South Scottsdale location. 😟 The next closest Scottsdale location is at 5111 N. Scottsdale Rd., #160 (N. of Chaparral). Theyre open M-F 8am-5pm for appointments and walk-ins.
Extremely long waits and the line does not move! The staff is not friendly and unresponsive. I simply walked out and others did as well. Go anywhere else for your lab work if possible, this is not a functional medical facility.
Bad practice. Their billing is messed up and management is not helpful. they refused me for some bloodwork because of an old bill from 2015 that they claim was not paid while they sent invoice to the wrong address. raised my blood pressure instead of testing it. Just horrible.
Sonora quest has chosen not to answer their phones. On line only appointments. GOODBYE SONORA QWEST, this is very cold. I prefer to know my medical people care enough to answer a phone. THERE ARE SEVERAL LABS WHO STILL TALK TO YOU PERSONALLY
We had a appt at 215 this day, not that busy and they cant check us in. Apparently it doesnt do any good to make a appt for my 94 yr old mother. Not organized at all. Its now 25 after 2 and theres been no one at desk
Have done 2 walk-ins for labwork-weekday mornings. Checkin was very fast and I was in and out within 15 minutes.
This is a very professional and helpful location.Anna (don’t know last name, Ex-Army supply) was especially patient and helpful; I appreciate her calm demeanor and answering all of my questions. Thank you Anna
Over an hour wait - very very slow check in process. They were processing one customer every 15-20 mins. I saw many people walking up to the reception and asking how much longer. Avoid if possible.
Its the only place Im not terrified of getting my blood drawn. They get it the first try everytime and I appreciate that.
I’ve been here for 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and still waiting. Other reviews that point out how long wait times are seem to be spot-on
Very simple. Have your doctor call in your labs. Check in and wait to have blood drawn. I was in and out in 5 min.
Excellent service. Personnel friendly and accommodating. Valerie has the magic touch, I never felt a thing!
I have hard veins and they get it every time. No digging in my arms with a needle. I love this place
What a fantastic staff. I had a short wait today and very friendly people. I highly recommend this location.
Scheduled an appointment several days in advance. Fasted all night.Showed up ten minutes early. Waited an hour. Why even bother with the appointments?
The tech I had was great! Got my vein easily! Quick and efficient service!
Very unhygienic place. Staff is very slow and do not care about patients. Worst service ever
Best blood draw ever! Very courteous staff and was in and out quickly.
The stuffs are really great and attentive to the needs of the clients. They talk you through The procedure. Im so impressed by the stuffs.
I been going to this location since I remember and I love the help i got from the young lady at the front desk before closing time very professional and very nice. Thank you for the help.
Easy experience and friendly staff
The office staff were very friendly and skilled in their work.
My phlebotomist Kara, was amazing!!! If Sonora Quest is reading these reviews, give Kara a raise!!!
Long waits with an appt. Dont waste your time!! I advise you to go to another lab.
I’m walk-in patient and have been here for over 50 minutes. The service is quite slow.
4:30 close.
Google still shows this location as open, it is not there any more! This needs to be removed.
One and done on a 10 yr old child. Fast, clean, and courteous.
The person at the front desk was so rude. I recommend not to come here.
Front desk lady very rude. Done with this place.
Location is permanently closed (well it shouldnt be on Google Maps) -.-
Employees are so SLOW moving and are fighting ... oh my
Quick check in and very friendly staff.
Phone number doesnt work
Switched to appointment only
Very professional ,caring
Staff were so kind and helpful today! I was struggling with my phone to send them the Drs order and in tears after being sent away from a different lab company after having the same problem. These ladies stepped up to work through my technology issue before time ran out on the window to collect my sample.
