I wish I could give zero stars. Over 10 years ago my husband and I (we were young) went in to find out why we weren’t getting pregnant and sat down with a consultant. We thoroughly went over everything and were promised that the initial blood tests would be covered and not billed fertility because it’s considered normal. We scheduled a procedure for me and one for him to find out what was going on. The day before my appointment I was told I owed a large sum of money for the blood test and it need to be paid in cash. They sent it in as fertility and not routine and refused to change it although they told us before committing it would be covered. We had to cancel both procedures because we couldn’t pay for that and both of our procedures. We had a plan and that huge bill was outside the budget. That derailed our fertility journey for quite some years and we never went back because we were discouraged. (Because of our wait it has made it harder due to our age and I am upset that I let them cost us those years).Fast forward we’ve been doing IVF with another facility and for several reasons wanted to try them again based on others recommendations. We’ve been through the wringer and have embryos we’ve adopted we want to transfer. We were told that to switch doctors, there’d be an administrative fee of $1500 no matter what. When I questioned what it was for she had no answer except that it needed to be in cash and wouldn’t be billed. We have done the testing, blood work, adopted the embryos and dotted all the paperwork. We just need to do a transfer and have the funds to do that. It’s bad enough that most of these IVF companies have pristine expensive offices but are okay with taking advantage of people who are already in tough situations. There’s no administrative needed as we have done everything ahead of time and there’s absolutely no way one procedure will cost $1500 of administrative time. I was right to leave the first time and thought maybe after so many bad reviews and after time had passed they would treat their patients better. But this is absolutely criminal and feel as though they take advantage of fertility couples.
Had trouble with conceiving so I contacted SRM. Everything about this place was very professional. All of the providers did a great job explaining the process each step of the way. I ended up choosing to do IVF. I felt everything was done in a timely manner and was pregnant within a year.
I appreciate the care the SRM staff has provided us and would recommend them to those seeking an RE. I have interacted with almost all the nurses and techs, and of course Dr. Houmard, and they truly lead a compassionate practice. The nursing team is very responsive, and I never have to wait long for a random question to be answered. They do use a portal system, which I prefer due to my own work - it’s easier to always have documentation to refer back to. The billing has always been made clear to me on what my coverage is vs out of pocket, and they are also responsive when I have had questions. I decided to work with SRM because I wanted a female lead physician and care team. I also appreciate Dr. Houmard’s lengthy credentials. She has a very calm bedside manner. When we have questions about a treatment plan, or previous cycles, she offers her recommendations but is open to discussion weighing our goals vs what we can do today. I do think they try to not recommend the most expensive options outright, to let the patient come to their own conclusions. I do wish they would have presented some information differently (PGT testing - pros and cons), in retrospect I would have made a different decision on our first cycle, but it’s all a learning process. As a patient you have to advocate and educate yourself. Day to day interactions are mostly with the nursing teams, and they are knowledgeable and attentive, and can handle tough situations. I appreciate that I see the same faces throughout. All in all, we have felt supported as we move through this “journey”.
I just had a pleasant experience here with Dr. Christie and the nurse whose name I unfortunately did not get. I highly recommend her. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and listened to and answered all my questions. 5/5 stars for this team.
My husband and I will be forever grateful to Dr Houmard and everyone else at SRM Spokane (and Dr Hehemann at SRM in Seattle) for helping us bring our beautiful baby into the world. It was a long, hard road, but they all did such a wonderful job of supporting us throughout the entire process. If it wasnt for their kindness, compassion, and professionalism, I think I might have given up along the way. I always felt like they truly cared about us. We cannot recommend SRM enough. Thank you!
We wanted to expand our family by one more child. Seattle Reproductive Medicine was our best decision. We had to use donor eggs, which was really hard to do. But they have a great collection to chose from which did make it easier. And the staff is so nice and always quick about returning phone calls. As we come from Idaho they are very easy to find and get to. If we wanted to add another child we would defiantly go to SRM again. As well we have told all our friends if you do have infertility issues you seriously need to think about giving SRM a serious try.
I would highly recommend SRM to anyone struggling with fertility. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly kind and helpful, they always made sure we understood every step of the process and I never felt overwhelmed in the potentially very overwhelming process. From the beginning they laid out our plan very clearly and were completely upfront about every aspect, including the prices, which we really appreciated. It is very clear that they really care about their patients and I can happily say they exceeded our expectations and we are so happy to have had them included in our journey!
I can’t say enough good about SRM Spokane. Every single person I came in contact with was kind, compassionate and beyond helpful. My nurse always got back to me promptly and was great at easing my fears and addressing my concerns. Dr Houmard is so knowledgeable and kind. She gives good information so that you can make informed decisions and personally makes phone calls to give updates through the process. My husband and I will forever be so grateful for these amazing people who helped us fulfill our dream of being parents.
I can’t thank SRM enough for all they have done for us during our fertility journey. From day one, the SRM team was amazing to work with. They made you feel comfortable, willing to answer questions, took time to get to know you and above all listened to any concerns you may have. They walked us through each step of the process for IVF. Dr.Houmard and her staff are truly the best and I thank each and every one of them for their dedication and kindness they showed to me while under their care. I would highly recommend them for fertility treatments if you are in the Spokane area.
SRM is a good clinic! The nurses are easy to get ahold of and get back to you promptly with answers. Dr. Houmard is very intelligent and has great bedside manner. She was very straightforward, took her time with me, answered my questions, and let me make decisions in my treatment plan. I did feel that each subsequent visit was a bit impersonal as each time I went in, nurse practitioners asked me the same questions and didn’t know anything about me. Nobody seemed to remember me or even look over/make notes in my chart so they would remember something about me the next time. Overall a good clinic, that successfully got me pregnant!
We are thoroughly pleased with this clinic. It is very apparent they take great pride in hiring excellent staff. Not to mention the two physicians there are also both incredible people. My main physician greeted me by name in the hallways if she saw me before any ultrasounds etc.We initially consulted with a different clinic in Seattle, thinking we needed to seek treatment in a larger city to be successful. We found out that we were very wrong in thinking that. When we had our initial consult with Dr. Houmard we both left with a good feeling in our gut about her and the clinic overall and agreed that it was a night and day difference from the place we had went to originally. Now that we have completed our first cycle with SRM Spokane we can say with 100% certainty that they are amazing and truly act in the patients best interest. These are compassionate people who love what they do and it shows. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone I know.
Overall pretty happy with our experience at SRM. Communication is pretty slow so plan to send numerous portal messages and leave voicemails. If you can get your case managers direct number it will be a little easier to get answers and info. During the actual visits the staff was friendly, I just wish my husband had been able to be in the room for more of it, especially our ultrasound. They said it was protocol due to COVID, but even when I asked if he could be there if he tested negative 2 days prior and wore a mask, they still said no. Ridiculous since we have paid a LOT of money.
Progesterone is an essential hormone for proper implantation. Please educate yourself on how to better serve your pcos patients to avoid an even higher risk of miscarriage. My miscarriage was due to LOW LEVELS OF PROGESTERONE. I relied on my provider to take proper precautions on all things regarding my pregnancy to ensure not only its success, but it’s health.. not once did anyone think it was necessary to monitor my progesterone levels after insemination. And at the time, I was not aware this was a standard precaution for women like me, who suffer from pcos…. But you should have been. You should have known this and taken the precaution.I have felt failed by your clinic for a long time and like I suffered a completely avoidable pregnancy loss. If I ever need assistance getting pregnant again, it will NEVER be through your clinic again.
I am truly shocked at the other reviews on SRM as this was not my experience at all. Going to SRM for IVF has been a true blessing. The staff is gentle, kind and knowledgable. At no point have I ever felt pressured into any treatment options and Dr. Houmard has been completely transparent and supportive regarding every aspect of treatment. My husband had his vasectomy reversal at SRM in Seattle and we are continuing our IVF journey with the Spokane team. I would highly recommend SRM to anyone seeking fertility treatment.
As if infertility isn’t heartbreaking enough, please save yourself even more heartache by going somewhere else. SRM was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I told them multiple times my cycle was not normal due to endometriosis (I bleed 2 weeks on 2 weeks off every month). They still treated me like a normal person and did treatments on a normal schedule instead of actually finding out when my cycle began. Never ran ANY tests on me. Then got confused why IUIs failed within 5 days. I never once met the actual doctor. It was nurses the entire time. They told me after they discovered multiple cysts to come in for a baseline ultrasound. When I went in, they had absolutely no idea why I was being treated. I was told by the nurse to start clomid on day 3 (even though I was told just 2 weeks prior never to take clomid again because it caused the cysts and could rupture) and told to do timed intercourse. I asked why timed intercourse and not IUI and she said, “well we always want to try timed intercourse first.” She had NO CLUE I had done 2 rounds of IUI with them already. I left this place in tears so many times. We also paid 1,400 dollars to have my husband’s samples collected during his deployment (even though I told them it was a 3 month deployment but they insisted on collecting 7 samples?!) and then proceeded to tell me NOT TO DO TREATMENTS THE MONTHS HE WAS GONE. They are also IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of. Any time you call, it is a call center in the middle of the state and there were always 48 callers ahead of me. It would take hours to finally talk to someone to schedule a single appointment. They stole so much of our money, our precious time trying to get our miracle baby, and caused so much heartbreak that could’ve easily been solved by LOOKING AT MY RECORDS. Do yourself a favor and go to Center of Reproductive Health with Dr. Robbins. They insist on running blood work on me every single time I start my period and it’s a good thing too because I start bleeding mid cycle. They do bloodwork to determine actual day one of my cycle, I’ve met with the DOCTOR every single time I’ve gone, they’ve done MULTIPLE tests on me they never cared to do at SRM. And you can get ahold of them within seconds of calling. They actually listen to you and the staff is amazing to work with. It is way cheaper as well for an extremely higher success rate. Please do not book an appointment with SRM if you want your miracle baby.
The best care I have ever gotten. They take the time to listen to your concerns or questions, in addition they give options instead of just offering one solution. Dr. Houmard is so caring and informative! Thank you!
Very poor experience, would not recommend for numerous reasons. My husband and I wasted a year of our fertility journey here. After 1 year we switched fertility clinics and now have a healthy 4 month old baby.My husband and I were quickly categorized into “unexplained infertility” without appropriate preliminary tests and went through 4 failed rounds of IUIs per Dr. Houmard’s recommendations. Absolutely no changes were made with the 4 failed IUI rounds and no plan of care was made apparent to us. We never actually got to see Dr. Houmard who was presumably the person creating our plan of care unless we made a separate appointment to review our failed IUI cycles. When we did make a meeting with her it was unhelpful and no solid evidence or research was provided with regards to her decisions for our treatment and care.By the end of our wasted year at SRM Spokane, my husband and I lacked trust in the entire operation, and were disappointed and exhausted. We switched fertility clinics to Center for Reproductive Health and within 1 week had a medically confirmed diagnosis of male infertility via the SCSA test and did 1 round of IVF (IUIs had a nearly 0% chance of working for us with our male infertility diagnosis) and were pregnant within 3 months. We now have a healthy 4 month old baby boy and are very happy!
I was highly pleased with the professionalism and support. Dr. Hamoud was gentle and informative. There are two clinics in town and at this office I didnt feel like a number, I felt that there was holistic care. Also, the assistant who I worked with was such a hard worker and always responded to my nervousness and zillion emails as quickly as she could. I appreciated being treated kindly.
I cannot thank Dr Houmard and the entire staff at SRM Spokane enough. Every visit every time I was treated with care, compassion, and respect. We are so blessed to have SRM in our lives and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done for our family over the years.
Ive been coming here close to a year now and Here are some things I wish I knew: SRM only transplants one embryo, even if you have more, even though all the training videos say different, no matter your age.Initial cost is around 30k, plus 5k for meds, each time you go through an egg retrieval. Embryo/blastocyst storage is around 1k, plus miscellaneous office visit costs. We thought 5k was over-time for the meds in assisting egg retrieval, that is not the case, the pharmacy needs to be paid in full, 5k each time you do an egg retrieval. We did two, it costed us 10k.SRM does not have an actual number you can call, they have some sort of central office taking calls in Seattle? So this means if you’re late, you call the number provided, they take your name and number, someone calls you back, and you had better answer, because if you don’t, repeat the cycle of calling the operator, leaving your name… On the plus side, you do egg retrieval and embryo transfer all in the same building, the nursing staff are very helpful and courteous and I genuinely believe that the dr and nurses truly care. The atmosphere is nice and its location is easy to access with loads of parking
I am so thankful my husband and I found this amazing team of caring professionals to help navigate an emotional and scary journey. It was difficult to take the first step, admit we needed help, and just get in for the appointment. But from the first we felt like we had a whole team supporting and encouraging us. I couldnt speak any more highly of how every aspect of care was handled.
When I checked in, I was very nervous and unfortunately the person that checked me in didnt make it any better. Once I got back to the room, I think the assistant could tell that I was nervous. I do like that the assistant took her time to explain what I should expect and when the ARNP came in, she went through it all again. They were very supportive throughout the procedure I had to get done and they were still helpful once we finished. Great experience with the clinical staff.
From the husbands prospective: SRM Spokane utilizes a one size fits all approach to fertility treatment, adjustment to medication levels, and treatments are not made based on the couples specific challenges and outcomes. The staff is competent but by no means expert with the technology or even blood draws which they should be able to do profeciantly as they at the center of the diagnostic and treatment preparation portions of IVF. As mentioned before in other reviews vagueness and information overloading are employeed to push couples toward unnecessary testing and to prolong the process. At every turn, Dr. Humard recommended the most expensive course of care, even unnecessary treatments which were doomed to fail based on the diagnosis, I assume for billing purposes. Fortunately we were able to seek care from a US trained and board certified physician in Europe for 1/3 the cost including airfare and accommodation for the duration of the visit. I highly recommend avoiding SRM and considering medical tourism to Europeo to anyone considering IVF the experience far exceeded our expectations. Hungary, The Czech Republic, and Spain all have great options with wonderful English speaking Doctors. Bottom line avoid SRM’s predation of your emotions and desperation and find a viable alternative. Here’s good energies to all struggling with infertility!
We have yet to start the actual IVF but our experience had been awful ! The communication is horrible, at our zoom call to set up treatment plan the Dr was not even informed on our case & told us we needed to do several steps we had already completed! Forcing us to wait another week for another zoom call to do the actual treatment plan. I am now days away from starting my meds for IVF & can’t reach anyone at the Spokane office, the portal doesn’t work none of my messages to them in the past 3 weeks have been answered & I keep getting redirected to the new portal which has no information. Every phone number I call no one actually answers the person who answered the answering service line told me I needed to call back in the morning and they couldn’t answer any of my questions. My husband & I are extremely dissatisfied with the lack of service we have received for such a sensitive matter! I wish we would’ve read the other reviews before coming here and that my local doctor would have not recommended SRM! I suggest looking elsewhere, this is not a good place to start your family! They only add to the stress & emotional roller coaster you’re already on.
I’m in shock by all these bad reviews. I went there when I was 23 (young I know) I got some push back from Dr Hamoud because of my age. I sent her all my medical history and she agreed to treat me. She may not be all bubbly and warm. ( most drs I’ve met are not!) But she does care and wants nothing more than to help everyone achieve their dreams of having children. I am now 28 and have gone though IVF and FET 2x and have 2 handsome little boys!Remember Personalizes clash, hormones are all over when going though treatments, emotions are high especially when it comes to a dream your unsure will ever come true and not to mention the financial piece is hard that’s for sure! But I had great experience both times and had 2 great outcomes! I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Dr.Houmard and her entire staff are the most wonderful and caring people you could hope to work with during such a tough time. I always felt comfortable and that they really truly care about their patients.
If you are over 40 dont bother with going to SRM, if you do you better be prepared to be your own advocate and fight through the emotional roller coaster of fertility treatments. We wasted thousands and thousands of dollars and precious time at SRM. We were pushed into a failed IVF that only produced one egg. We were never offered to egg bank, offered a different medicine protocol or offered to cancel the cycle. Completed 4 rounds of IUI and 2 home cycles only to find out after all that time and effort that I have one completely blocked fallopian tube on my producer side. The ONLY reason I found out I had a blocked tube is because I requested the HSG test. They pray on your emotions and dont care about your outcome, they only care about your money. Additionally, their pricing is WAY higher than the other option in Spokane.
Don’t waste your time going here! We spent thousands of dollars and in the end got terrible care. Dr Houmard actually turned us away on our last treatment we had already started, bc I “had too many follicles”. Didn’t matter what the patients beliefs were just her own. Going through all of these treatments for years and countless $$, but also the stress it has on your body and mind! All of that to have the doctor turn you away bc finally, finally, you have a very good amount of follicles so higher chance to get pregnant this time but she won’t because she says it’s “unethical” bc of the fact that you could possibly get pregnant with more than one. Shouldn’t that be the patience choice?! Can’t get pregnant with one so what makes you think you can make the decision to not give me a chance at possibly more than one. So very disappointed and sad that we went through this tough time and money for the worst nightmare I didn’t think could actually happen.Go elsewhere
Everyone here was incredibly friendly and inviting! The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because I wasn’t able to experience everything like meeting my doctor, in person visits/consults, or have my spouse with me because of COVID but I’m sure without all of this madness I’d have no complaints!
Highly, highly disappointed in SRM Spokane. We were provided false information about genetic testing that ended up costing us a lot of money. Beware... they will pressure you into many unnecessary test and will straight out lie to you about the process. I’m so disappointed that we had such a terrible experience, but when you’re the only option, I guess you can be unethical without consequence.
Dr. Houmard and staff are exceptional! Theyre all very caring and compassionate to the unique experience of fertility care.
I dont want anyone with PCOS to experience what I did. If you have PCOS, I would suggest that you go elsewhere. All you will get here is a very expensive lecture on what PCOS is, all the information you can get on google and ya know what we LIVE everyday of our lives, and be sent on your way. I learned nothing new and was given nothing new to try. It was not a PCOS friendly place.
Dr Humaurd and her team are fantastic! They made the whole IVF process easy and answered all of my questions!
SRM has been so supportive through all of this. We never felt like a number or a chart or a sales pitch. They truly cared for us
Horrible place. Lack of communication was costly. Did not make process easy for patient. Glad the ivf process is over. Going somewhere else for rest of treatment and care.
Worst place ever! After spending thousands of dollars of my own money they denied me treatment discrimination all the way! Very rude to me and family!
Warning: this physician should have her medical license revoked. Highly unethical and incapable doctor.
What else can I say, I have a beautiful, healthy baby boy ready for his diaper to be changed.
A wonderful experience at Srm throughout the ivf proceeds
Run!!
