Great people , great doctors!!!Do not see all the reviews of negative people.I love this place, they are amazing, they take care of you throughout all your appointments and visits from the moment you get inside. My kids love Dr Beruke!! So sad that they grown up alrededor and have to move on to the adult section but we love Doctor Taylor!!!It’s a great place, it’s a community where you can trust and count on them all the way.Thanks
Please everyone change your location of doctors. This place is no good. The recording says you could get a Physical appointment with in the same date. This is NOT true I been trying to get an appointment and they tell me late Janurary. Why say same date appointment when its NOT true. If anyone knws of a better place let me know I would chane in a heart beat
My appointment was scheduled for 9:40 AM. I arrived at 9:15 AM, and I didnt leave until 12:15 PM. For starters, Dr. Rachelle Derosena- GYN: she mispronounced a patient’s name while calling for her before seeing me. She kept obnoxiously calling it out and then loudly saying, What the fu-- is this damn patients name, that shes not coming. The receptionist corrected her after realizing the mispronunciation. She then spent almost two hours with that patient. Finally, at 11:45 AM, it was my turn. Here are the key points of my terrible visit: She calls you honey or sweety in a condescending tone. She asked if I remembered when I received my immunizations. Im not sure how she expected me to remember that when I received them in 2009 (she confirmed the date) and we are now in 2024. She judged me for my medical decisions to not have birth control but if she would do her job and check my chart, she would be able to review my bad experiences with birth control. I have never felt put down by a female doctor in the way she did. She was more concerned about arguing back with me and ensuring i know shes right and not wrong, than actually doing her job. Her disgusting/disrespectful/condescending tone is the reason why this clinic will not be a safe space for patients. Only reason i gave the two stars is because the reception and nurses are great.
It doesn’t even deserve a star. The service is horrible. The people you have to deal with is horrible. The doctors horrible they can’t even give you a letter they say they will, but they don’t do it every time you call for an appointment you have to wait another three months to call again for the appointment and when you call them again they say we are full and we cannot take any more appointments now and it’s a continuous thing.
I am writing this review today because what transpired today at burnside pediatric is unacceptable.My daughter was scheduled today for her 2 month shots this morning at 8:10am.My husband and I arrived at 8am and no one was was there to receive us at the front desk.The security guard, who is always kind and pleasant, told us to sign our name on the clipboard.We waited until 8:30 to inquire why we havent been called in, the woman at the front desk said the doctor is not in and she doesnt know why I was scheduled for 8:10am. My husband spoke to the same woman to ask if there was another provider, he was told that they were booked and was given the i dont know answer again regarding the scheduling.As a medical office manager, i dont know is not an adequate answer to give a concerned working parent who has scheduled an early appointment to attend appointments and not miss a day at work. This message has nothing to do with Dr. Beruke, who was kind and quick, or the nurse who Administered the shots, as she was the only one to apologize for the inconvenience caused today. The back of office staff is great.This falls on the administration of the office, this error in scheduling should have been caught prior to the appointment. The front staff is supposed to be kind, courteous and welcoming; that has never been the case with this office. The words i dont know should never be a answer. I understand the stressors of daily life but if this how patients are received first thing in the morning, perhaps training is needed. The front desk staff set the tone for a practice and as of now the tone is “im over it. What sealed the deal was witnessing a walk in patient, who only spoke Spanish, have to yell her sons ailments in a full waiting room because the Spanish-speaking employee couldnt be bothered to move from her desk. The mother was visibly embarrassed.As a result my daughter will be switching her pediatrician to an office that values the time of their patients.Good luck, I wish that this place improves because others may not have the luxury of switching like myself.This review was already sent in to patient relations.
You get greeted at the instance of the building by a very nice young man that has been there for quite some time and you get upstairs and you are greeted by some very nice workers at the front desk. Then one of the best doctor, Dr Bernards assistant is a sweetheart of a person takes your vitals and then you get to see the Queen herself Dr Bernard. Shes very approachable and kind. When leaving the building again you are greeted again by this very kind young man that wishes you a wonderful evening.Thank you Morris heights Medical Center
It says open at 8am but Doors open at 9am then youll have to wait another half hour before they even begin taking patients. So I was waiting an Hour and a Half not feeling well as a walk in...All to be told Ill have to wait til DECEMBER to be seen (mind you today is Sept 8th and was 4 other patients there max). I will definitely be changing my PCP.
BE VERY CAREFUL!!! I went to their dental facility at this health center thinking I would be in-network since they accept my insurance for primary care and mental health. I WAS WRONG! As someone whose a administration worker I thought the admin team was capable enough to verify that not only my insurance is active BUT IN-NETWORK. I WAS WRONG. I scheduled my visit at least 2-3 weeks in advance since I have to give notice at my job in order to attend my visit.As an admin, I have to prepare for appointments at least a week in advance to not only verify insurance but to ensure that we accept the insurance. Unfortunately the administrative team at this location did not do that. Instead they let me have my visit without a warning.At my job I make sure to warn the patient especially if they have Medicaid. If you didn’t know, if you pay any medical bill you will be at risk of loosing your Medicaid benefits.Due to this, I am now at risk of loosing my Medicaid benefits because now I have to pay this $900+ dental bill that I obviously can not afford. If i could afford this bill I wouldn’t be on Medicaid… I am not sure what level of training these administrative workers get or where you get them but you need to do better especially when you run a business in a low income neighborhood.I tried calling the facility numerous of times to see how they can help. They do not pick up the phone and they certainly do not call back when you ask them to via voicemail. Meaning they either do not go over their voicemails or they simply ignore it.I urge you to please verify that your insurance is in-network with the provider you will be seeing. You can do so by searching up the providers full name and then adding “NPI Number” afterwards. With that same number you can provide it to your insurance to verify that they are in-network. Please do not be as trusting as me and take my word for it. Just because you know how to do your job correctly does not mean that others can.

The worst experience in my life. Dr. Bernard immediately told me she doesnt accept new patients as I was Dr. Bookhardt patient. Dr. BERNARD Just wanted to do a eye doctor appointment. I will never go back to your clinic. Its been over 6 months anyone ordered labs or a doctor examine me. I am switching to Mt. Sinai with Dr. FARBER. YOUR CLINIC IS GOING BACKWARDS with patient care. When I first started with you guys you was the best. In the past year you become the worse clinic in NYC.
Dr. Walsh came highly recommended; however it was by far the worst experience I had at Morris Heights. I have been coming to this clinic for almost 30 years after this visit I am strongly considering going elsewhere. He was rude, short and sarcastic. The interaction with him made my daughter and very uncomfortable. If I decide to continue to visit Morris Heights I will NEVER EVER see him again.
Worst Health Center in Morris Heights. If I could give it -5 stars I would. Long story short, to make an appointment in the place is almost impossible. Most if not all employee’s don’t have the proper training in customer service or any service if that. Place is a mess/unorganized. Employee are Extremely Rude. Will be reaching out to corporate because place has been like this for years and nothing has been changed as far as Staff & Service. Spoke will many locals & they seem to have the same issues.
Had the worst experience at this place ! Doctors arent educated in women who decide to do home births so my newborn wasnt able to be seen ! The doctor left the room screaming my business in front of everyone in the waiting room. My baby is only 5 days old and he didnt understand that he doesnt have insurance or isn’t fully registered yet due to being JUST BORN ! It takes 30 days for a newborn to be fully registered and to receive their birth certificate and social. The doctor made it seem as if my newborn wasnt mine because I decided to have a home birth saying out loud “this baby doesnt exist” and calling it “hearsay”. This place is super unprofessional and I will never go here again or recommend this place to anyone.
Morris Heights health center used to be a good place to go to now when you call to make an appointment you can’t make an appointment they put you on hold for 15-20 minutes then when you get to where are you supposed to get to they don’t answer the phone to make an appointment then when you get connected to someone and tell them that you’ve been on the phone all day they are rude and hang up the phone. Morris Heights health center doesn’t have good customer service or good etiquette.
Excellent! My doctor is Julius Nwosu, he understands my health issues, he’s always on top of me, asking everything about my health, if I need anything to always reach for him, and I just go to the clinic, and let the front desk person that I’m there and to let him know. I’ve been a patient since 2006.

I had the worst experience this morning, I had an appointment at 8am for a flu vaccine for my daughter. Got their at 8am and it’s 9:15am still no nurse to give my daughter a flu shot so she can go to school. 9:20am I went off on them and ask to speak to a supervisor because two ladies came after me as a walk in and they went to see the doctor before me. How can you call two people that came after me to see the doctor and you have me still sitting down over there waiting for a simple 2 min flu vaccine Smfh. They are so slow and unorganized. An organized staff will not call two patients that came after me and I’m still sitting waiting. Something needs to be done. Even if you have an appointment they will still don’t care. You have to wait almost 2 hours to see the doctor or nurse.
My dentist used to be at this location and moved to the one at Edward L. Grant, and I am so glad she did. I havent even been to the new location, but the fact that they picked up the phone on my first try and did not sound annoyed at me for calling already puts them miles ahead of the Burnside location.My experience with the location at 85 W Burnside is limited to the dental department. They never pick up the phone. For one year I have struggled to get an appointment to for a crown after a root canal re-treat. Ive even had to have the temporary filling that was put in replaced during that time (that was an emergency appointment, had to take time from work and go in to have it done). The only reason Ive put up with them is that my dentist is great and I trust her, but now that shes moved to another location I am never coming to this place again.
The dentist was wonderful and the nursing staff aswell. Warm, friendly and professional. However, the reception staff needs some work. A bit too rude for my taste.

I have been coming to this clinic for over 30 years and I dont care what kind of appointment you need you shouldnt have to wait 4 months to see your doctor.. The clinic is getting so greedy that they keep on taking so many patients that your doctor cant see you until 4 months later because because of all the patients theyre taking. its all about greed not caring about the patients like they sign say is a caring place no its not cause if you care your Patients wouldnt have to wait 4 months to see their doctor they dont want to see another doctor they want to see their Regular physician. On top of that security dont know how to mind their business when youre talking to patient advocate the security dont have nothing to do with patient advocate unless I was kicking her a**. And the staff has come become very unprofessional when it comes to speaking to the patients.

I’m extremely unsatisfied with this place! My appointment was for 10am . I was not called at all! I asked the front desk how much longer until I’m called , this is at 11:30am, she saids 2 minutes 20 minutes later I asked her again. Now she saids the Doctor can’t see me! Why? It’s not like I disappeared, I’ve been sitting in the chaotic waiting room for almost 2 hours. I asked to speak to the nurse (she was extremely helpful) I explained my situation and she spoke to the medical assistant. Now at 12:30 the office manager comes out to speak to me, to tell me another doctor will see me at 1pm. I’m still waiting. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. The medical assistant did not call my name!!! If she thought she did she called a different name!!! I will follow up on this message!
Worst experience! I had appointment with Dr. Taylor at 11.40 am. I came here at 11.40am. Now 12.50 pm and they told me, I been rescheduled and another Dr will see me at 1.00 pm. Then what about my waiting period? After 1.5 hour waiting, I have to see another Dr? This is ridiculous and no one care for this. Still waiting in this careless place.
I was going to Morris Heights health center for 40 some years and it’s very good doctors there that helps you in your needs for medical ,Social service there to help with paperwork etc.
At first the clerk said that they take my Health insurance, On my fallow up appointment I bring my health insurance, They don’t take it, stuck with a $907.00 bill that I can’t forward to my health insurance provider because the clinic doesn’t have a contract with them. The doctor in my presence was conducting his personal agenda, and it was a medical student that was taking care of me, I have Tinnitus, “she said how could you live like that” I’ve always had second thoughts regarding this clinic that is a 10 minutes walk from where I live.for convenience this is what I get. I will never go back to that clinic.
This place is horrible, there is only one phone number like for 10-15 different department. no one ever pick up and when they finally do and place you on hold for 10 minutes and they just keep transferring you to different department. even for a simple question you may have to go in person. the front desk are nasty always with an attitude. when it comes to fill out any type of forms forget it, they never know where the hell the put you papers it takes 2-3 weeks to get it back only if you keep calling them almost every day. the doctor you ask them something and they never know why anything is happening, for them everything is fine. I WILL CHANGE MY KIDS FROM THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. OOO when they tell you they will call you back dont believe it they will NEVER call you back for anything not even for blood work result. HORRIBLE
Don’t go to this center ! When I went for my wic for the first time with my new born! The lady who assist me told me basically that my child was not going to makeIt far & will be hard to get called for a job interview because his name is difficulty to pronounce, which is really isn’t ! Maybe for her ! Dumass! (excuse my language because that’s how I really felt when she mention that to me !) is people out here with the weirdest hardest name in this world and are the wealthiest people and you got someone telling a parent that ! Worst experience ever. I walked into urgent care the doctor is runnin 30min late, the nurse tells us to write down our name & she will calll us up 30more min later the nurses informs us that the computers are down and they cant pull up our records. Mind you Im having an asthma attack & they dont even offer me a treatment better yet they dont even ask if Im alright I go up and tell them Im leaving and they quickly responded ok bye. How is it called an urgent care if you have to wait almost an hour to get checked in and be seen by a doctor. Worst unprofessional experience ever.

A waste of time. We had a 12N appointment for a COVID vaccine. Overbooked, unorganized and chaotic. We left at 12:35pm without getting the vaccine. Do not waste your time. Choose another facility.

My first visit there was awful. I arrived 30mins before my appointment as instructed and upon arrival no one was there. So I had to wait an hour and a half before they arrive and waited two more hours before I was seen. Despite the wait they get the job done.Another downfall would be their waiting time when you call. 30 mins wait plus another 30 to get a simple answer. Bad for business
Horrible service I stood online for 2 hours to get tested once inside and waiting 2 more hours they took people who didn’t even have their paper work ready and put them ahead of everyone !!! And they do not have your information available on the patient portal so how do you get your results!! 5 to 7 days ? To have your COVID results??? Seriously??!!!
I arrived at about 1pm with a tooth emergency... i received a flyer stating the dental clinic is open for emergencies at another location, o drive to the states location, i call the number set for emergencies and im told to make an appointment.. what part of emergency and tooth pain leads to think that a patient would want to make an appmt for next week for an emergency.Your flyer is misguiding and not sure if you are doing this because you are in a poor and underserved community but don’t waste a patients time with a misguided announcement just say you are not available for real dental emergencies

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I have went twice to pick up my wic checks to buy my son milk and because they are short staffed they don’t want to give it to me. It takes a few seconds to print those checks out and i have called prior to going and they tell me yes you can come pick it up and when I arrive they tell me I can’t! They need to hire more people if they don’t have enough staff members cause it’s not fair to me I have a 1month old that needs to eat.

This is by far the most unprofessional Medical Clinic in the Bronx. No wonder they receive such low ratings from Patients online. One staff member got angry because an African woman who did not speak English needed her help, you would think for a Hispanic woman she would understand the plight of another immigrant from other country and help, especially since shes customer service. She should be ashamed of herself. Dr Marshall Tse is so unprofessional and lacks people skills. A customer came there the other day reporting a minor headache, his only solution was to test for Covid even though they had no covid. Especially when patients just need a prescribe med to deal with temporary migraine. If they cant tell the difference between Covid and Migraine then they need to be careful of future lawsuits from Patience for improper treatments and exams.
They gave me the run around first they lost my information. Every time I would call they told me someone would call with my results, no one did I had to keep calling there office for no answers at all. Waiting for them to pick up the dam phone you would die. Very unprofessional don’t know what they are doing at all. I was waiting on the phone for 30 mins and was hung up on I called again no one answered, they are affecting me to go back to work.

It’s changed so much since it first opened.Update 2020-2021: The place is constantly crowded and there’s no urgent care anymore. You’ll have better luck going to the hospital. Plus their service is now really limited. Disappointed, I thought the place would improve the community not fall down with it.

Ive been registered patient at Morris Heights Health Clinic at 85 W.Burnside Ave. Since 1994. My Primary Care Provider is Dr. M. Bernard, but her Physcian Assistant, Mr. Julius Nwosu, Is the one who assist me with all my health issues and concerns. Hes Very Professional and Respectful. To me, He is Morris Heights, He and His Medical Assistants. Yes, We All Have Our Moments, But They wouldnt Be Human Without Highs and Lows.Overall, my family and I have recieved the best care under our Primary Providers at Morris Heights Health Clinic.
They never answer the phone I’ve called over 20 times to get hanged up on and not treated correctly I had an appointment over the phone and missed it because they didn’t transfer me over honestly they aren’t very good especially when it comes to over the phone appointments
Horrible clinic!! My son had an appointment from a month ago. The day of the appointment I go and they tell me he can’t be seen because they don’t accept children under 5! The staff must be stupid or illiterate because I clearly have them his date of birth the day of the appointment . Never again

Some staff can be friendly but when my husband went , I guess the people stafffed that day didnt either have a good nights sleep ,or didnt have time to get a cup of coffee .1ST the nurse at the desk to check in for appointments ,doesnt acknowledge my husband waiting in line for 10 minutes waiting to be called and instead calls another woman who had come in after him .Rude much ? Also the check in process has changed ,so when they called my sons name ,hubby thought it was just to fill out a form/update contact information .He goes up to the nurse and asks ,do I need to bring the child or?,,,,Her response I mean its an appointment for the child,who else am I asking for DUH .Then procedes to talk smack to the other nurses as hes walking away .How professional.

Very bad service, sir, every appointment they make you fill out papers, this time they stopped by while I was filling out papers, they took them, the children took their badges and they went to lunch, they made us wait 30 minutes when they could serve them earlier. Awful
I have been waiting for a letter from the IRS for approximately 1 month. The tardiness and irresponsibility of the person in charge of writing the letters is terrible, a simple letter that is the same for everyone and they only have to edit the name, is taking 1 month. I asked for a letter that I consider to be simple, not a passport.Dr. Mukherjee is a sweetheart, super sweet and excellent with children, maybe her nurse, I dont remember her name but I know she is Dominican, she is super kind and dedicated. But the department in charge of the letters must improve a lot.

Good staff, they call you two days before your appointment and if they dont communicate they send you a text message, there is good hygiene, it is very spacious and their professionals are very attentive.
Complicated appointments change a lot of primary doctors and care when receiving the patient with a very unpleasant attitude.
