Courtney is an incredible therapist and so kind, welcoming, and patient. I came to see her after having my second child, in addition to some very long standing running injuries. Not only did she help me rehab from pregnancy/delivery related issues, but she also took the time to peel away years of running issues/injuries, looking at how my whole body played a role, and helped me get back to the activities I love most! She is so thorough and thoughtful, as well as not afraid to refer to other excellent providers in the community to support areas that are less her expertise. Thanks to Courtney, I am running pain free for the first time in 10 years and getting to enjoy the business of life with 2 little ones!
Truly cannot recommend Courtney enough. Her calm and confident energy combined with her extensive knowledge helped me (amd my partner) prepare both mentally and physically, and feel so empowered going into a VBAC. She is so compassionate and truly a delight to spend time with. As a doula, she was so responsive and went above and beyond in every way. As a pelvis floor therapist, her deep knowledge of the human body during pregnancy is very evident in her recommendations.I had baby early with an unexpected induction and ended up with Courtneys backup doula (Kristin)for my actual birth, but Kristin was also incredible. She was so knowledgeable of all interventions and VBACs in general and helped me through every step of the process. She ensured I was using movement to help my labor progress and worked beautifully with my midwife team. While my birth was not as I envisioned with the necessary induction, with Kristins support it was still a beautiful experience. Both Kristin and Courtney have been so supportive during the postpartum period as well. Could not have asked for better people in this whole journey.
I have been working with Courtney to help recover from my c-section and she has been so incredible to work with. My birthing experience did not go as desired as it ended in an unplanned c-section. Courtney has been so kind and supportive in helping me work through the physical and the emotional scars from that experience. I wish I would have found her sooner (or better yet wish she was my birthing doula!). Every appointment, I walk away with useful exercises and breathing techniques and it has truly made a difference in my recovery!
Jenny is AMAZING! I was skeptical that she would be able to help me with an ongoing issue Ive had for years but within 4 sessions, I was symptom free. She is a true professional who deeply cares and is passionate about the work she does. I always feel seen and heard by her and comfortable in her presence. She has given me exercises and various things I can do on my own, which I appreciate. Jenny is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her to anyone who has issues or concerns about their pelvic health.
I have really enjoyed working with Jenny and Courtney. Their approach far surpasses any previous experiences Ive had with pelvic health therapy or physical therapy in general. The occupational therapy approach brings this from theory to daily life very smoothly. Ive always been treated with attentiveness, kindness, care, and and gentleness here. I would absolutely recommend OWN Your Pelvic Health to anyone looking to improve their pelvic health. Im thrilled Jenny has joined the team permanently and am greatly looking forward to working with her more!!
The best thing I have ever done for myself is see Courtney through my pregnancy and in postpartum. I started seeing her when 12 weeks pregnant. I had minimal issues during and after birth with respect to my abdominals, pelvic floor, and other birthing parts. I contribute this 100% to the work I did with Courtney and the great plan we had for during birth and immediately after birth. I went into birth feeling confident in my body. I was also confident that no matter what happened during birth, Courtney would help me recover and get ready to be pregnant again. I’m currently 12 weeks postpartum and am feeling great about my recovery and my ability to get pregnant again in the future. Courtney not only is an expert in pelvic floor PT, but has helped me have a healthy whole body. She listens to my concerns and needs and provides exercises and support completely tailored to me. The app she uses really helped me stay on top of my exercises and remember to do them correctly. She always made me feel like I am doing a great job, even during the times I didn’t always do the exercises and was down on myself. Having someone who truly understands my body and the challenges I face and help me overcome them has been worth every penny. Thank you Courtney!
Working with Courtney was incredible! She was so thorough in her evaluation and really listened to what the symptoms were. She helped my husband and I tremendously with positions and pressure points that we could use during labor, which really came in handy. I would strongly recommend her for anyon prenatal or postpartum. Thank you!
I am so so grateful for my time with Courtney at OWN!! Like many women, I felt that my OBGYN care left a little (or a lot) to be desired when it came to the preparation and recovery of my body during pregnancy and postpartum. Having a pelvic floor therapist made all the difference.During pregnancy, Courtney helped me understand my body’s anatomy and encouraged exercise that strengthened my deep core and pelvic floor. The work I did with Courtney helped prevent diastasis recti and made me feel strong and prepared. She also gave pointers on positioning for labor and delivery, recommendations for doulas, and overall understood the ups and downs of pregnancy in a scientific, yet personal / thoughtful way.Once my son was born, Courtney was a life saver during postpartum. I had intense back pain, wanted to rebuild my core, and honestly just needed some understanding of what happened to my body. Courtney had an answer for every question, and was respectful and helpful when I shared vulnerable information about my delivery.OWN also offers lactation support, recommendations on sleep training, PP massage, doulas etc. I felt cared for and supported every time I entered the office!!I can’t recommend Courtney and team enough!! Thank you!!
I started meeting with Courtney at Own towards the end of my second trimester of pregnancy - my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner! I was someone who was having a very healthy and easy pregnancy until I started getting really bad pelvic floor pain from exercise and sometimes even just when getting out of bed. I really wanted to continue to stay active for my mental health so someone recommended own and I’m so happy they did! I thought it would just be help with my acute pain issue but it was so much more. Although Courtney did help me with stretches and exercises for the pain - she also got me extremely well prepared physically for birth in general. I had an epidural and I think my work with Courtney made my birthing process really smooth because I was able to be in touch with how things should feel pushing even though I was completely numb. I also just loved my sessions with Courtney. She makes you feel 100% comfortable and it felt like a bi weekly pregnancy / birth therapy session - with lots of laughs! I can’t recommend Own enough for preparing for birth! I also saw Courtney post partum which was great in helping me get back to exercise and feeling comfortable in my new post partum body. There is a lot of physical changes that occur during pregnancy and post partum that OBs just aren’t there to help you with. Having a pelvic floor PT like Courtney validates what is going on in your body and helps you navigate those changes!
Courtney has been absolutely amazing to work with. I initially started seeing her to help with my lower back pain after my C-Section, but she quickly became one of my biggest supporters in preparing my body during my second pregnancy and helping me achieve a VBAC. Courtney has spent so much time over the past year trying to understand my entire body and underlying issues. Not only has she helped my body recover from physical pain, she gave me the confidence and knowledge needed going into my second birth and achieving the VBAC I wanted. I love that I was able to work with her as my PT, while simultaneously having her as my doula. Bonus points for her being able to connect with my husband during our birth and making him feel comfortable and confident through the experience!
I cannot recommend Courtney enough for any woman going through pregnancy or postpartum. She does an incredible job educating and providing individualized treatment based on your personal goals during this transitional time! With her support during our sessions, I was able to really understand what I needed during labor and how to best advocate for myself and various positions to assist with each phase. My only regret was not having her as a doula in person at my birth, but even so, she gave me so many helpful resources and information that I felt empowered and knowledgeable during birth! She continued to guide me during postpartum and I attribute much of my quick healing and return at activity now at 3 months pp to her! If you are pregnant or postpartum, even if you may not have obvious signs or pain indicating treatment, I would recommend seeing Courtney as she does a great job in educating to prevent pain or injury!
I could not speak more highly of Courtney and OWN. I met Courtney when I was at the end of my first trimester looking for both a pelvic floor therapist and birthing doula. Luckily, Courtney was both.During our first pelvic floor session together, she made me feel very comfortable just in her personality and the vast knowledge that she had. She took the time to explain and answer any question I had - and more! At that point, I knew I’d love to have her as my birthing doula.Through my pregnancy, Courtney helped me with preparing my body for birth and postpartum as best as I possibly could by educating me on what to expect and giving me all the tools I needed to prepare myself. Prior to giving birth, we went over specific birthing techniques, pain management and outlined a birthing plan together. We discussed various different situations and what I wanted if things didn’t go as planned. My labor and delivery did not go as planned, but having gone through multiple situations with Courtney me feel in control and comfortable during labor and delivery. Courtney was extremely helpful and present during my labor process making sure I had what I needed and assisted me though everything. I truly could not thank her enough for the support she provided me during and after labor.Postpartum Courtney also gave me information and exercises to start working on as soon as I felt like I was okay to do so. This was a huge relief to me because I wouldn’t have known where to start. My healing process from labor and delivery went smoother than expected. I know all the work and knowledge Courtney prepared me with is a major reason why that was possible.I could not recommend Courtney enough to anyone looking for a Pelvic Floor PT or a Birthing Doula. I will continue my PT journey with her and would love to have her as my birthing doula again if pregnant again in the future.
Annie has helped my child so much. I am consistently impressed by the atmosphere she creates, the way she speaks kindly and frankly to my child about body awareness, and the kid-friendly exercises she uses in our sessions. My child loves going to see Ms. Annie and is no longer scared to use the potty and no longer has accidents.
Annie has been so amazing to work with for support throughout my pregnancy! She always listened to my needs and was able to help me work through discomforts as well as planning for labor and recovery. Seeing her was easily one of my best decisions during pregnancy and I look forward to continuing to receive support postpartum!
Im so grateful for Courtney! I came to her feeling overwhelmed and stressed about a prolapse that occurred four months after having my first baby. She immediately made me feel so much more calm, and confident in my ability to get to back to the activities I loved.; She is gentle, a great listener and so supportive! Id been to other pelvic floor clinics before but her approach is very high touch and holistic. My only regret is that I didnt find her sooner and utilize her services during my pregnancy and sooner after my birth.
I had a wonderful experience working w/ Courtney postpartum. She was supportive in helping me recover after giving birth and sustaining a 4th degree tear. She was also wonderful in supporting me in my goals to return to meaningful activities. As an OT myself, it was important to me to work with someone who would support me in my recovery and not just with my specific problem, rather as a whole person and improve my quality of life in my new journey through motherhood.
I had a wonderful experience with Courtney and received excellent support and guidance through my pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum experiences. I was fortunate to have success in these areas, and a large part of that is owed to the education I received at OWN Your Pelvic Health. Courtneys experience as an OT and certified doula allows her to treat the whole person, which made me feel understood and seen in a way that I hadnt with other providers. I would recommend this business to anyone seeking pregnancy or postpartum guidance.
An amazing duo sure to help you build a strong foundation for pelvic floor care. I have seen several providers for pelvic floor therapy in the past and find that Courtney and Annie have the most holistic and thoughtful approach to pelvic health, Courtney built me a personalized care program throughout pregnancy and postpartum that helped me recover faster and stronger than I would have otherwise done. Courtney also has an amazing presence - calming, knowledgeable, she will put you at ease instantly. This can be important when discussing deeply personal aspects that can feel inherently uncomfortable. She’s the best!
If you want excellent service, exceptional support, and great information about your treatment these are your people! Both Courtney and Annie excel at including you in the discussion of your care, provided information and education about their services, and they truly go above and beyond to address your concerns and help you. 10/10 recommend to everyone interested in pelvic floor OT!
I don’t have enough words to explain how wonderful both Courtney and Annie are!! Both are excellent PT’s - kind, caring, knowledgeable and professional.Courtney was my doula for the delivery of my first baby, and I cannot imagine the experience without her. She made my labor and delivery process so peaceful. She was available at the drop of a hat, educated me on every little detail of the birth process, supported and advocated exactly what I wanted, and truly enhanced the entire experience. She knew exactly how to ease contraction pain, help with labor positions, and has such a calming presence! I look back on this day with such fondness and I owe a lot of that to Courtney!
I cannot recommend these women enough! I am currently seeing Courtney and I am just so impressed. The care is individualized to fit my specific concerns & goals and she is fully supportive in tailoring exercises to better fit into my daily lifestyle (busy). I am so appreciative to have found the wonderful combination of both accountability AND support!
THE BEST! I have seen both Courtney and Annie throughout my postpartum journey and couldnt recommend them enough. They truly listen, meet you where you are at, and approach treatment holistically. I have had an individualized program that has helped me recover, heal, and get me stronger than I was prior. I am grateful I found this dynamic duo!
Annie helped me during my pregnancy, and I was so impressed by and grateful for her knowledge, warmth, and support. During pregnancy, it was important to me to build a pregnancy and birth team that took the time to understand my needs and be a partner alongside me. Annie was exactly that; she asked questions and listened thoughtfully to my answers, adjusting her recommendations accordingly and helping me wrap my head around the time ahead. We developed a plan for some exercises that met my needs, and she was responsive between appointments for any questions I had. All this helped me gain confidence in my own intuition to navigate pregnancy and birth. I only interacted with Courtney briefly with an admin question, but she responded right away and quickly dialed in on how to help. The pair of them struck me as whipsmart women who are also kind and gracious. Highly recommend!
I came to Courtney and Annie after ignoring pelvic floor issues for more than a decade. In truth, I didn’t even know there was even pelvic floor specialists.I am a runner and have been for a long time. I ran long distances through my pregnancy and gave myself a week after childbirth and starting running again. After having my first child, 12 years ago, I started experiencing pelvic floor pain. I managed and slowed down when I needed to, but I never stopped or looked for help. The pain would come and go and be worse at times. At the worst, I would seize up while running and have a sharp pain in the area.Fast forward a few years and I started competing competitively in ultramarathons. I realized if I wanted to stay competitive, I needed to fix this situation. I went through three different PTs (all insurance taking large operations) and then I finally found Annie and Courtney through a recommendation. They did not take insurance, so it was a commitment for me in multiple ways. It paid off ;).I started off super ignorant in this field, but goal oriented. I was all in on fixing my injuries. I started working with Courtney first. We started with external and internal exams. During all of it, the focus was muscle releasing. She was patient with me, explaining and answering all my questions.I am now now about a year into working with both Annie and Courtney and I have seen massive improvements. During my last 100 mile race, my previous pelvic injuries did not surface at all. This is not to say that throughout the past year I have felt perfect, but I have strategies now to mitigate. As I continue to work and do specific exercises to keep my pelvic floor strong, Courtney and Annie and I have worked together to address other issues. The experience has been and continues to be an individualized one with caring people who are producing outcomes.
I saw Courtney throughout my pregnancy (it was my first), and am SO grateful I did. She is so knowledgable and kind, making every session approachable and comfortable. I learned so much about my body, and ended up having a very positive birth experience and recovery. I implemented everything she taught me and felt that it really impacted my pregnancy and delivery. Couldnt recommend enough!
My husband and I could not be more thankful for finding this company and the amazing people that work here! I (and probably many of you) have heard about post pregnancy delivery issues (ahem, peeing while you laugh or jump) and really wanted to avoid those if at all possible. I signed up for PT sessions with a bit of skepticism during pregnancy (after all, could this really help THAT much?!) but could not be happier with all the support I received during pregnancy and now post delivery. I fully believe that all the work OWN did with me has helped me recover quicker and prevented issues from arising in the first place. They are so friendly and kind but also very knowledgeable. I feel completely confident in their assessments and ability to treat me. I love the option for in home visits - life is busy and this is a huge pro for me. I also love the app they use and how easy it is to track my daily exercises Ive been assigned. They also bill quickly and its an easy process there too. From every aspect we have been so pleased, could not recommend more!
OWN is amazing. Courtney actually takes the time to sit and listen to your issues, and every appointment is a full hour. I never felt rushed like I did at other more well known therapy centers, and I always felt like we had thoroughly practiced the exercises before I left. She is knowledgeable, calm, and patient. Bonus isshe can help you with non-pelvic floor related physical therapy issues, so she also helped me solve a rotator cuff issue.
Annie is the best! I’ve seen other PTs and felt like a number. Annie treats me like whole person, listens and addresses symptoms and causes, and tailors a program that fits my life. Couldn’t recommend her more.
Courtney and Annie are both super knowledgeable! They took the time to address my concerns and tailored each session to my comfort. Their approach is both professional and personable, always making it a positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking pelvic floor support!
Recovery after my third was rough. But having a Pelvic Floor PT who came to my house made all the difference. Annie was knowledgeable, empathetic and encouraging! Postpartum Pelvic care is a must for any new mama. And OWN is a great place to go for that care.
Loved working with Courtney! She helped me strengthen my pelvic floor postpartum and the exercises were so helpful. Highly recommend.
I worked with Annie after my C-section and can’t recommend her enough! Our therapy sessions were pivotal in my postpartum recovery, and she made me so feel supported as a first time mom.
Courtney was amazing, both at efficiently treating my pain and also making me feel heard and supported in this crazy journey of motherhood. Highly recommend!
Annie and Courtney both are such a wealth of knowledge and have been so helpful in preparing for birth. I highly recommend their services!
Annie has been a huge help to our family and their facility is beautiful!
